This paper proposes a system with Non-linear Carrier (NLC) controller for a high-voltage gain Quadrupler Converter (QRC). The system is 400 V DC Micro Grid (DCMG) with Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS). The quadrupler converter is a non-isolated topology that achieves single-stage high voltage gain with a low duty ratio and reduced voltage stress of semiconductor devices. The proposed system assures robust dynamics against changing operating conditions, variations in circuit parameters, and external load conditions. The parameters, such as voltage gain, voltage ripple, current ripple, delay time, settling time and peak overshoot, are assessed to ensure the agility of the proposed system. The performance of the proposed system is analysed with various wind speeds using Matlab Simulink-based simulation studies. The results inferred that the proposed method provides a fast response for various input and load variations and high gain at low duty ratio. A 200 W wind-connected QRC system with an NLC controller prototype is developed to validate the simulation results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In high frequency induction heating systems, the effective load parameters change during the different operating conditions. It is necessary to maintain constant input voltage to the induction heating load to improve the quality of the heating. The resonant based high frequency converter is generally used for these applications for the reduction of switching losses. The resonant condition is also affected during the variation in load parameters. The controller should provide a good voltage regulation with less response time and less overshoot during the loading conditions. In this paper, a load adaptive fuzzy logic control scheme is proposed to perform the voltage control of the high frequency inverter under variable load conditions. A frequency tracking control system is also employed for the inverter system using the phase lock loop. The phase lock loop ensures the resonant frequency operation of the inverter during the change in load parameters. The state space model of the system is discussed to study the inverter during different operating conditions. The fuzzy logic controller based closed loop control scheme is developed using the MATLAB simulation tool. The responses of the conventional and fuzzy logic controllers are studied for load voltage regulation and the effectiveness of the control schemes is verified. The dynamic behavior of the system is studied under no load and loaded conditions with the two controllers. The fuzzy based closed loop control scheme improves the dynamic response of the system compared to the conventional controller. This article presents the investigations on the constant frequency asymmetric voltage cancellation control in the AC–AC resonant converter-fed domestic induction heating system. Conventional fixed frequency control techniques used in the high frequency converters lead to non-zero voltage switching operation and reduced output power. The proposed control technique produces higher output power than the conventional fixed-frequency control strategies. In this control technique, zero-voltage-switching operation is maintained during different duty cycle operation for reduction in the switching losses. Complete analysis of the induction heating power supply system with asymmetric voltage cancellation control is discussed in this article. Simulation and experimental study on constant frequency asymmetric voltage cancellation (CFAVC)-controlled full bridge series resonant inverter is performed. Time domain simulation results for the open and closed loop of the system are obtained using MATLAB simulation tool. The simulation results prove the control of voltage and power in a wide range. PID controller-based closed loop control system achieves the voltage regulation of the proposed system for the step change in load. Hardware implementation of the system under CFAVC control is done using the embedded controller. Resonant converters are well suited for induction heating (IH) applications due to their advantages such as efficiency and power density. The control systems of these appliances should provide smooth and wide power control with fewer losses. In this paper, a simple phase locked loop (PLL) based variable duty cycle (VDC) pulse density modulation (PDM) power control scheme for use in class-D inverters for IH loads is proposed. This VDC PDM control method provides a wide power control range. This control scheme also achieves stable and efficient Zero-Voltage-Switching (ZVS) operation over a wide load range. Analysis and modeling of an IH load is done to perform a time domain simulation. The design and output power analysis of a class-D inverter are done for both the conventional pulse width modulation (PWM) and the proposed PLL based VDC PDM methods. The control principles of the proposed method are described in detail. The validity of the proposed control scheme is verified through MATLAB simulations. The PLL loop maintains operation closer to the resonant frequency irrespective of variations in the load parameters. The proposed control scheme provides a linear output power variation to simplify the control logic. A prototype of the class-D inverter system is implemented to validate the simulation results.
