Abstract In this paper, we show the interaction phenomena about the first-order lump wave and multiple solitons by four theorems. The interaction phenomena are divided into two types, one type is absorbing collision phenomenon and the other type is elastic collision phenomenon. Six sets of dynamic plots over time are showed the phenomenon of absorbing interactions with energy transfer process, the phenomenon of elastic interactions with restoration of the initial state after collision. We apply the four theorems to an equation which can characterize the Rossby waves’ amplitude, this equation can be used to describe the resonance phenomenon of Rossby waves. Different test functions with the same parameter values can present different wave-wave interaction properties. This study contributes to in-depth investigation of the mechanism of lump wave generation, evolution and interaction.

Abstract Numerous studies have reported that long-term sports training can affect inhibitory control and induce brain functional alterations. However, the influence of environmental dynamics in sports training on inter-cortical connectivity has not been well studied. In the current study, we used twin-coil transcranial magnetic stimulation to investigate the functional connectivity between dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) and ipsilateral primary motor cortex (M1) during proactive and reactive inhibition in participants with sports skills in dynamic environment (open-skill experts), stable environment (closed-skill experts), and no sports skills (controls). Using a modified stop signal task, proactive inhibition was measured by the response delay effect (RDE), and reactive inhibition was measured by the stop-signal reaction time (SSRT). Intra-hemispheric DLPFC-M1 interactions and single pulse motor-evoked potentials (MEPs) were measured during the task. A stronger inhibitory effect of the DLPFC over M1 was observed during early reactive control stages compared to baseline levels. In addition, this inhibitory effect was pronounced when comparing open-skill experts to non-athlete controls, a relationship that was significantly correlated with superior reactive control performance. Furthermore, DLPFC to M1 influencing direction shifted from late proactive control to reactive control. Behavioral results also demonstrated enhanced proactive control abilities in open-skill experts relative to controls. Such enhancement may be due to the combination of environmental complexity and physical fitness in long-term skill training.

Identified as a critical risk factor for childhood asthma, environmental pollution plays a pivotal role. However, research on the effects and mechanisms of phthalates mixture and their interactions in relation to childhood asthma is still lacking. In the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) conducted from 2009 to 2018, our research explored the link between phthalates in urine and the prevalence of childhood asthma. In this study, which involved 810 participants, we used four different statistical analysis methods to investigate the association between urinary phthalate levels and childhood asthma. Additionally, we conducted a mediation analysis to explore whether the impact mechanism of phthalate exposure on childhood asthma operates through the glycolysis. Among the participants, 525 (64.81 %) individuals were diagnosed with asthma, with 330 (40.74 %) individuals undergoing testing for glycolytic markers. Through Spearman correlation analysis and weighted principal component analysis (W-PCA), it was found that mono-2-ethyl-5-carboxypentyl phthalate (MECPP), mono-(2-ethyl-5-hydroxyhexyl) phthalate (MEHHP), mono-(2-ethyl)-hexyl phthalate (MEHP) and mono-(2-ethyl-5-oxohexyl) phthalate (MEOHP) are the four most highly correlated phthalates. In addition, comprehensive analysis by the weighted generalized linear models (W-GLM), weighted quantile sum (WQS) and Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) models showed that phthalates mixture were positively associated with the prevalence of childhood asthma, especially MECPP, MEHHP and MEOHP. More importantly, glycolysis participated as a mediator in the relationship between MECPP, MEHHP and MEOHP exposure and the prevalence of childhood asthma, explaining 41.194 %, 38.322 % and 39.871 % of the effects respectively. Therefore, our study revealed that phthalate exposure is a risk factor for asthma in children, and glycolysis may be involved as a potential mediator in this process. This conclusion will be verified through more prospective studies in the future.

Abstract Background Understanding the tooth anatomy is crucial for ensuring effective endodontic treatment. This study investigated the root canal morphology of the second mesiobuccal (MB2) canal in maxillary first molars (MFMs) in a Chinese population using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methods This study evaluated 486 MFMs with MB2 canals from 285 participants undergoing CBCT examination and determined the Vertucci’s classification and position of the MB2 canal orifice. The prevalence of the MB2 canal was correlated with the sex, age, and tooth side. The correlations between the prevalence of the MB2 canal and sex and tooth side were assessed using the Fisher's exact test. The chi-square test was used for evaluating the correlation between the prevalence of the MB2 canal and age. Results The number of type II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, and other root canals in the MFMs was 30.9%, 0.6%, 65.0%, 1.2%, 1.2%, 0.4%, and 0.6%, respectively. Among the 201 cases with bilateral inclusion, 87.6% showed consistent canal configuration. Results of the first clear apparent position (FCAP) of the MB2 canals showed that 434, 44, and 3 teeth had FCAP at the upper, middle, and bottom one-third of the root, respectively. Abstract Introduction In recent years, intracardiac electrocardiogram (IC-ECG) technology has been widely used for epicutaneo-cava catheter (ECC) placement and has shown many potential advantages. However, evidence about the quantitative changes, effectiveness, and safety of IC-ECG for lower extremity ECC is sparse. This study aimed to explore the quantitative changes in IC-ECG for lower extremity ECC and determine its effectiveness and safety. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 303 premature infants who underwent successful IC-ECG-guided lower extremity ECC placement between January 2019 and December 2021. All patients underwent chest X-ray postoperatively to verify the position of the catheter tip. The amplitudes of the surface electrocardiogram and IC-ECG QRS waves and the difference between the two amplitudes were measured. The effectiveness (matching rate between IC-ECG and chest X-ray) and safety (incidence of catheter-related complications) of IC-ECG for lower extremity ECC were evaluated. Results The matching rate between IC-ECG and chest X-ray was 95.0%. When the catheter tip was optimally positioned, the QRS amplitude of the IC-ECG was 0.85 ± 0.56 mv higher than that of the surface electrocardiogram. The overall incidence of catheter-related complications was 10.6%. The actual ECC insertion length was associated with a noticeably increased risk of catheter-related complications. Conclusions This study suggests that IC-ECG is an effective and safe method by observing the dynamic changes in both QRS complexes and P wave to locate the tip of lower extremity ECC in preterm infants. Our findings would facilitate the application of IC-ECG for ECC localization.

Abstract This study aimed to examine whether the implementation of Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCI) policy could reduce the disability among middle-aged and older adults in China, and to test the heterogeneity of the effects. Data came from four waves of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS, 2011 to 2018). The Difference-In-Differences (DID) method and the panel data fixed effect model were used to estimate the effect of implementation of LTCI policy on disability among individuals aged 45 years and above. The LTCI policy had a positive impact on reducing disability among middle-aged and older people. Females, younger adults, city dwellers, and individuals living alone benefited the most from LTCI policy. The results provided empirical evidence for the implementation of LTCI policy in China and other similar countries as China. The implementation of LTCI policy should also pay more attention to inequity of the effects on reducing disability among different demographic groups.

Background: Suicide among adolescents is a huge public health concern around the world. Although childhood abuse has been established as a substantial risk factor for suicide behaviours, potential mediators in this relationship remain unclear. Objective: This study aimed to examine the mediating roles of school connectedness and psychological resilience in the association between childhood abuse and suicidal ideation among Chinese high school students. Methods: The sample involved 1607 adolescents from four high schools in Central China. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was conducted to investigate the mediation effects of school connectedness and psychological resilience on the relationship between childhood abuse and suicidal ideation. Results: The prevalence of suicidal ideation during the past week was 21.9%. Childhood abuse was positively related to the development of suicidal ideation directly and indirectly through school connectedness and psychological resilience. School connectedness and psychological resilience were also partial mediators of all three types of childhood abuse (emotional abuse, physical abuse and sexual abuse) when the types were examined separately. Conclusions: Suicidal ideation was widespread among Chinese high school students. Psychological resilience and school connectedness could attenuate the detrimental impact of childhood abuse on suicidal ideation. Findings underscore the improvement of psychological resilience and the connection to the school would be beneficial to suicide prevention among Chinese adolescents with childhood abuse.

In the past, we haven't paid much attention to higher-dimensional models, which are actually more consistent with the real atmosphere. In this manuscript, we derive a high-dimensional Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation from a fluid system based on the Gardner-Morikawa transformation and the small parameter perturbation method, which is the first time to characterize the propagation process of Rossby waves in Large-scale atmospheric. The exact solutions such as soliton, lump, rogue wave and breather of this equation are achieved according to Hirota bilinear method and symbolic computation approach. Further we utilize the composite diagram of these solutions to observe the propagation properties of Rossby waves with assistance of Mathematica. The results enrich the analysis of Rossby waves in marine engineering and fluid dynamics.

BackgroundThe positive rate of sputum bacteria in patients with pneumoconiosis complicated with pulmonary tuberculosis is lower than that in patients with simple tuberculosis, which makes the disease assessment more difficult.ObjectiveTo compare the differences of blood test indexes between patients with pneumoconiosis complicated with bacteriologically negative and bacteriologically positive pulmonary tuberculosis, so as to provide a basis for the assessment of lesions in patients with pneumoconiosis complicated with pulmonary tuberculosis.MethodsThe relevant information of 329 patients with pneumoconiosis complicated with tuberculosis diagnosed from 2010 to 2020 was retrospectively collected, including 260 cases of pneumoconiosis complicated with bacteriologically negative tuberculosis (B-TB) and 69 cases of pneumoconiosis complicated with bacteriologically positive tuberculosis (B+TB). Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) is a nutritious forage crop with wide ecological adaptability. The molecular breeding of alfalfa is restricted by its heterozygous tetraploid genome and the difficult genetic manipulation process. Under time and resource constraints, we applied a more convenient approach. We investigated two MtGA3ox genes, MtGA3ox1 and MtGA3ox2, of Medicago truncatula, a diploid legume model species, finding that MtGA3ox1 plays a major role in GA-regulated plant architecture. Mutation of neither gene affected nitrogenase activity. These results suggest that MtGA3ox1 can be used in semidwarf and prostrate alfalfa breeding. Based on the M. truncatula MtGA3ox1 sequence, MsGA3ox1 was cloned from alfalfa, and two knockout targets were designed. An efficient CRISPR/Cas9-based genome editing protocol was used to generate msga3ox1 mutants in alfalfa. We obtained three lines that carried mutations in all four alleles in the T0 generation. Fifteen clonal plants were vegetatively propagated from each transgenic line using shoot cuttings. The plant height and internode length of msga3ox1 null mutants were significantly decreased. The number of total lateral branches, leaf/stem ratio and crude protein content of aerial plant parts of msga3ox1 mutants were significantly increased. Thus, we obtained semi-dwarf and prostrate alfalfa by gene editing.

Magnaporthe oryzae is a filamentous fungus that causes rice blast. Rice blast seriously threatens the safety of food production. The normal synthesis and metabolism of fatty acids are extremely important for eukaryotes, and acyl-CoA is involved in fatty acid metabolism. Acyl-CoA binding (ACB) proteins specifically bind both medium-chain and long-chain acyl-CoA esters. However, the role of the Acb protein in plant-pathogenic fungi has not yet been investigated. Here, we identified MoAcb1, a homolog of the Acb protein in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Disruption of MoACB1 causes delayed hyphal growth, significant reduction in conidial production and delayed appressorium development, glycogen availability, and reduced pathogenicity. Using immunoblotting and chemical drug sensitivity analysis, MoAcb1 was found to be involved in endoplasmic reticulum autophagy (ER-phagy). In conclusion, our results suggested that MoAcb1 is involved in conidia germination, appressorium development, pathogenicity and autophagy processes in M. oryzae.

In order to solve the problem of large channel state information (CSI) feedback overhead and low feedback accuracy in massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. We propose a CSI feedback method based on complex-valued convolutional neural networks to improve the representation capability of the network. In this method, a complex-valued encoder-decoder structure is constructed considering the fact that CSI exists in the form of complex numbers. We use complex convolutional downsampling (CCD) to extract CSI features in the encoder, and reconstruct the compressed CSI with high accuracy in the decoder by using a complex dense block (CDBlock). Simulation results show that the average accuracy is improved by 17.5% compared with several classical deep learning CSI feedback methods. Our proposed CSI feedback method has higher feedback accuracy and better system performance in massive MIMO systems.

Aiming at the problem of large error of channel state prediction caused by channel time-varying characteristics in wireless communication system, propose a wireless channel state prediction method based on improved adaptive and parameter-free recurrent neural structure(APF-RNS). The method though Aquila Optimizer for find the number of hidden layer units and the optimal value of learning rate of the neural network, using the optimal parameters to construct adaptive without recursive neural network. In this way, the convergence speed and fitting effect of the objective function of the neural network can be improved, and the problems of large prediction error and poor generalization ability of the neural network in the prediction process can be avoided, thereby improving the prediction accuracy of the channel state information. The simulation results show that compared with Genetic Algorithm, Particle Swarm Optimization and Sparrow Search Algorithm, the improved APF-RNS has better performance in the optimization ability and convergence speed. Meanwhile, it also has a significant improvement in prediction accuracy compared to the APF-RNS.

Aiming at the problem that the data traffic in the intelligent wireless communication system presents complex characteristics such as burstiness and self-similarity, which leads to the low classification accuracy of the existing classification model for traffic, a data traffic classification method based on improved Harris Eagle algorithm combined with fuzzy C-means clustering is proposed. The method maps traffic samples to Harris Eagle individuals, finds the optimal position through multiple iterations of the algorithm, and uses this as the initial center point of the clustering algorithm to guide data traffic classification. The simulation shows that, compared with the traditional fuzzy clustering method, the clustering method based on the particle swarm algorithm and the gray wolf algorithm, the improved Harris Eagle combined with fuzzy clustering has better intra-class compactness and inter-class separation on the data traffic sample set. Meanwhile, the clustering accuracy and recall rate are both improved to about 90 percent.

Due to its noninvasiveness, high resolution, and high sensitivity, photoacoustic imaging has developed rapidly in the field of biomedicine. However, research on dermatosis detection by photoacoustic imaging is still lacking. In this paper, the skin is modeled as a multilayer planar medium based on the non-homogeneous, complex layered structure of the skin tissue. Then, the analytical expression for the photoacoustic signal of multilayer skin tissue was derived under the assumption that the thermal and optical parameters of the skin tissue do not vary with temperature. The expression not only considers the influence of optical, thermal, and mechanical parameters of the tissue on the photoacoustic signal but also, for the first time, the influence of the number of skin layers on the photoacoustic signal. The analytical expression of the photoacoustic signal containing the number of skin layers is also given. The numerical simulation results show that the difference between the photoacoustic signal of the seven-layer skin model and the single-layer skin model is 15.206 × 10−6 MPa when ω = 3.5 MHz and μa = 2.70 cm−1. Therefore, the increase in the number of model layers enhances the amplitude of its photoacoustic signal. This work provides a comprehensive study of photoacoustic mechanisms in dermatosis tissues and establishes a theoretical foundation for the application of photoacoustic imaging detection technology in the diagnosis and treatment of dermatosis, which may improve treatment plans.

ObjectiveThis study aimed to examine age and cohort trends in disability among Chinese older adults and explore the disablement process factors that may explain the cohort trends in disability.MethodsThis study used data from five waves of the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS). A hierarchical logistic growth model was used to analyze the A–P–C effects and the contributors of cohort trends.ResultsADL, IADL, and FL among Chinese older adults showed increasing age and cohort trends. FL was more likely to result in IADL disability than ADL disability. Among the disablement process factors, gender, residence, education, health behavior, disease, and family income contributed to most of the cohort trends in disability.ConclusionsAs older adults face increasing disability trends, it is necessary to distinguish age and cohort trends and develop more effective interventions according to relative contributors to prevent disability among them.

The association between socioeconomic status (SES) and dietary diversity score (DDS) has been widely discussed, but little is known about the age and cohort effects on DDS and how the SES effect on DDS varies with age and across successive cohorts among urban and rural older adults in China. Thus, this study aimed to examine the temporal change in DDS among Chinese older adults and SES heterogeneities in such change from the perspective of urban–rural differentiation. Data from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS) between 2002 and 2018 were used, and a total of 13,728 participants aged between 65 and 105 years were included in this study. A total of eight food groups were used to assess DDS, while education, family income, and perceived income status were used to assess SES. A linear mixed model was used to estimate the age and cohort effects on DDS and their urban–rural and SES disparities. The results show that higher SES, including more education, family income, and perceived income status, was associated with higher DDS (for urban older adults, β = 0.1645, p = 0.0003, β = 0.2638, p < 0.0001, β = 0.2917, p < 0.0001, respectively; for rural older adults, β = 0.0932, p = 0.0080, β = 0.4063, p < 0.0001, β = 0.2921, p < 0.0001, respectively). The DDS of older adults increased with age and across successive cohorts in both urban and rural China. Moreover, we found the three-way interaction effect of SES, age, and cohort was statistically significant in both urban and rural China. Thus, living in an urban area and having higher SES are associated with higher DDS, but these associations change with age and across successive cohorts. The dietary health of earlier cohorts and rural oldest-old in China deserves more attention.

Corticocortical neuroplastic changes from higher-order cortices to primary motor cortex (M1) have been described for procedural sequence learning. The dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) plays critical roles in cognition, including in motor learning and memory. However, neuroplastic changes in the DLPFC and their influence on M1 and on motor learning are not well understood. The present study examined bilateral DLPFC–M1 changes in plasticity induced by procedural motor sequence learning in a serial reaction time task. DLPFC plasticity induced by procedural sequence learning was examined by comparing before vs. after training assessments of ipsilateral/contralateral DLPFC–M1 interactions between sequence order and random order trials performed using either the left or right hand. Intra-hemispheric (inter-stimulus interval [ISI] = 10 ms) and inter-hemispheric (ISI = 10 or 50 ms) DLPFC–M1 interactions and single-pulse motor-evoked potentials (MEPs) were measured with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). The reaction times of participants measured during motor training were faster for sequence learning than for random learning with either hand. Paired-pulse TMS induced DLPFC–M1 interactions that were disinhibited after motor sequence learning, especially for left DLPFC–left M1 interactions with right hand task performance and for left DLPFC–right M1 interactions with left hand task performance. These findings indicate that motor sequence learning induces neuroplastic changes to enhance DLPFC–M1 interactions. This manifestation of plasticity showed hemispheric specificity, favoring the left DLPFC. DLPFC plasticity may be a useful index of DLPFC function and may be a treatment target for enhancing DLPFC function and motor learning.

Abstract Background The objective of this report was to highlight the importance of using a dental operating microscope (DOM) to locate supernumerary canals and diagnose variations in root canals using cone-beam computed tomographic (CBCT) images. Case presentation A 35-year-old Chinese female had repeated swelling in the upper right posterior maxilla for 3 months and was referred to evaluate symptomatic apical periodontitis and mesotaurodonts for upper right first permanent molar and upper right second permanent molar. Root canal therapy was proposed and conducted with the use of DOM and CBCT. Conclusions Proper diagnosis and careful clinicoradiological examination are necessary, and it is essential to reinforce the knowledge of the rare morphology of root canals for clinicians.

Abstract Background: Interferon (IFN)-λ1, also named Interleukin (IL)-29, is a new member of the Type III IFN or IFN-λ family. IL-29 plays an important role in the pathogenesis of many types of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Objective: To study the role of IL-29 in the pathogenesis of psoriasis vulgaris. Methods: The authors detected the serum levels of IL-29 in forty-one patients with psoriasis vulgaris, twenty-three patients with atopic dermatitis and thirty-eight age and gender-matched controls by sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The effects of IL-29 on the expression of cytokines, such as IL-6, IL-17, IL-8, IL-4, IL10, Interferon (IFN-γ) and Tumor Necrosis Factor-α (TNF-α), in PBMCs and HaCat cells were determined by real-time quantitative PCR. Results: Our data indicated that serum IL-29 levels were significantly elevated in patients with psoriasis vulgaris when compared with atopic dermatitis patients and the control group. Moreover, Serum levels of IL-29 were closely associated with the severity of psoriasis vulgaris. Furthermore, IL-29 up-regulated the mRNA expression levels of IL-6, IL-17 and TNF-α in PBMCs from psoriasis vulgaris patients. In addition, IL-29 enhanced the IL-6 and IL-8 expression from the HaCat cells. Conclusion: This study provides the first observations on the association of IL-29 and psoriasis vulgaris and showed elevated IL-29 serum levels. The authors suggest that IL-29 may play a role in the pathogenesis of psoriasis vulgaris.

The Magnus expansion method is popular for the study of Rydberg atoms in intense laser fields. In such studies, the pulse length is usually set as an integer multiple of wavelength, at the same time, the initial phase of the laser pulse is usually set as zero, i.e., without considering the effect of the initial phase in the calculation. However, this will result in some items multiplied by zero. Then, contributions from these items will be lost. Here, we investigated the effects of the noninteger-cycle pulse and initial phase of the laser on the calculated transition probability of Rydberg atoms in intense laser fields. Our calculation results show that these effects are trivial when the nondipole approximation is adopted. In dipole approximation i.e., when the wavelength of the laser field exceeds the characteristic size of atomic or molecular orbitals, these effects are trivial only in the case of a long pulse duration and a large principal quantum number, however for ultrashort laser pulses (pulse duration that lasts less than five light cycles), these effects are evident.

In order to encourage residents to go to primary care facilities, China has set up differentiated basic medical insurance reimbursement ratios. The study aims to use the dynamic point of view of longitudinal data to examine the changes in the impact of basic medical insurance on primary care. The data for this study comes from the Chinese Family Panel Study (CFPS) in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018. We adopted Hierarchal Age-period-cohort-Cross-Classified Random Effects Models (HAPC-CCREM) to examine the changes in the impact of basic medical insurance on primary care. Compared with non-insured groups, participants of the New Rural Cooperative Medical System (coefficient = 0.730) have a relatively high incidence of primary care seeks, while Urban Residents' Basic Medical Insurance (coefficient = −0.482) and Urban Employees' Basic Medical Insurance (coefficient = −0.663) are lower, respectively. Age, period over time and cohort have a more obvious moderating effect on primary care seeks. The study of primary care behavior is an important direction for the construction of a hierarchical medical system. As basic medical insurance is the source of power for the hierarchical medical system, we can provide certain direction for policy formulation on the changes of basic medical insurance in primary care behavior.

Abstract Background Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is one of the deadliest malignancies. There is a growing body of evidence showing that long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play critical roles in ESCC oncogenesis. The present study aimed to explore the role of LOC101928477, a newly discovered lncRNA, in the development and metastasis of ESCC. Methods In this study, real‐time PCR, western blotting, cell counting kit‐8 (CCK‐8), flow cytometry, colony formation, wound healing, transwell migration/invasion assay, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry were used. We also applied an in situ xenograft mouse model and a lung metastasis mouse model to verify our findings. Results We determined that LOC101928477 expression was inhibited in ESCC tissue and ESCC cell lines when compared with controls. Moreover, forced expression of LOC101928477 effectively inhibited ESCC cell proliferation, colony formation, migration, and invasion via suppression of epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). Furthermore, LOC101928477 overexpression inhibited in situ tumor growth and lung metastasis in a mouse model. Conclusions Together, our results suggested that LOC101928477 could be a novel suppressor gene involved in ESCC progression.

3-monochloropropane-1,2-diol (3-MCPD) is a food-process toxic substance, and its main target organ is the kidney. The present study examined and characterized the nephrotoxicity and the lipidomic mechanisms in a model of kidney injury in Sprague Dawley (SD) rats treated with high (45 mg/kg) and low (30 mg/kg) doses of 3-MCPD. The results showed that the ingestion of 3-MCPD led to a dose-dependent increase in serum creatinine and urea nitrogen levels and histological renal impairment. The oxidative stress indicators (MDA, GSH, T-AOC) in the rat kidney altered in a dose-dependent manner in 3-MCPD groups. The lipidomics analysis revealed that 3-MCPD caused kidney injury by interfering with glycerophospholipid metabolism and sphingolipid metabolism. In addition, 38 lipids were screened as potential biomarkers. This study not only revealed the mechanism of 3-MCPD renal toxicity from the perspective of lipidomics but also provided a new approach to the study of 3-MCPD nephrotoxicity.

Aiming at the problems of low stability of path planning, inability to avoid dynamic obstacles, and long path planning for multi unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in mountainous environment, a path planning method for UAV was proposed based on the fusion of Sparrow Search Algorithm (SSA) and Bioinspired Neural Network (BINN). The method first scans the flight environment and smoothes the surface, then raises it to obtain the safe surface, and uses SSA to find a series of nodes with the lowest comprehensive cost on the safe surface. Then, B-spline curves are used to fit these nodes, so that the planned path is smooth to meet the flight requirements of the UAV. When the dynamic obstacle is detected in the predetermined trajectory, the improved BINN method is used to carry out local path replanning to achieve the purpose of dynamic obstacle avoidance. Computer simulation results demonstrate that the fusion algorithm can plan a collision-free path in a mountainous environment, and the planned path is smooth and short. Compared with the Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm (ABC) and Dragonfly Algorithm (DA), the fusion algorithm has obvious advantages in the stability of path planning and planned path length, and has the ability of dynamic obstacle avoidance.

A galactose oxidase gene, gao-5f, was cloned from Fusarium odoratissimum and successfully expressed in E. coli. The galactose oxidase GAO-5F belongs to the AA5 family and consists of 681 amino acids, with an estimated molecular weight of 72 kDa. GAO-5F exhibited maximum activity at 40 °C and pH 7.0 and showed no change in activity after 24 h incubation at 30 °C. Moreover, GAO-5F exhibited 40% of its maximum activity after 24 h incubation at 50 °C and 60% after 40 h incubation at pH 7.0. The measured thermostability of GAO-5F is superior to galactose oxidase’s reported thermostability. The enzyme exhibited strict substrate specificity toward D-galactose and oligosaccharides/polysaccharides containing D-galactose. Further analysis demonstrated that GAO-5F specifically oxidized agarose to a polyaldehyde-based polymer, which could be used as a polyaldehyde to crosslink with gelatin to form edible packaging films. To our knowledge, this is the first report about the modification of agarose by galactose oxidase, and this result has laid a foundation for the further development of edible membranes using agarose.

Waterlogging is a serious abiotic stressor that drastically hinders the growth and productivity of melon (Cucumis melo) around the world, due to the reduction in available oxygen levels in the waterlogged tissues. However, the mechanism underlying the responses to waterlogging stress in melon is largely unknown. In this study, physiological and transcriptome data of the waterlogging-sensitive accession ‘L39’ and the waterlogging-tolerant accession ‘L45’ were investigated under conditions of normal water supply and waterlogging stress. The results showed that ‘L45’ exhibited higher chlorophyll contents and lower REL (relative electrolyte leakage) and MDA (malondialdehyde) contents compared with ‘L39’ under waterlogging stress. Additionally, waterlogging stress only led to the stomatal closure and chloroplast damage of ‘L39’. In total, 1748 genes were differentially expressed in the leaves of waterlogging-stressed ‘L45’ compared with control, whereas 3178 genes were differentially expressed in ‘L39’. Further analysis indicated that genes related to chlorophyll synthesis and photosynthesis were more depressed in ‘L39’, while sugar cleavage, glycolysis, and fermentation genes were highly induced in ‘L39’ compared with ‘L45’. The expression of genes involved in ROS (reactive oxygen species) scavenging and hormone signaling significantly differed between ‘L39’ and ‘L45’ in their response to waterlogging stress. Moreover, a total of 311 differentially expressed transcription factors were waterlogging-responsive, among which members of the ERF (ethylene response factor), bHLH (basic helix-loop-helix), and WRKY families might play crucial roles in waterlogging tolerance in melon. This study unraveled the molecular responses to waterlogging stress in melon and could provide helpful candidate genes for further molecular breeding of waterlogging-tolerant melon varieties.

Using a method based on the Magnus expansion, the survival of Rydberg atoms in intense laser fields is studied. Usually, for atoms in intense laser fields, effects beyond the electric dipole approximation need to be considered. In the past few years, researchers have primarily paid attention to the nondipole effects induced by the electric quadrupole term of the optical field. The quadrupole term plays a more important role than the electric dipole term in the calculation of the survival probability of Rydberg atoms in intense laser fields even though the magnitude of the former is smaller than that of the latter in terms of the multipole expansion of the optical vector potential. Meanwhile, the effects of higher-order corrections beyond the quadrupole term remain ambiguous. In this paper, we confirm that corrections containing higher-order terms, except for the quadrupole term, can be neglected in the calculation of the transitions of Rydberg atoms in external fields. We then use the second-order time evolution operator containing the quadrupole term to study the scaling law of the transition probability of Rydberg He in laser fields with different parameters.

Cardiac fibrosis is a common pathological manifestation accompanied by various heart diseases, and antifibrotic therapy is an effective strategy to prevent diverse pathological processes of the cardiovascular system. We currently report the pharmacological evaluation of a novel anthraquinone compound (1,8-dihydroxy-6-methyl-9,10-anthraquinone-3-oxy ethyl succinate) named Kanglexin (KLX), as a potent cardioprotective agent with antifibrosis activity. Our results demonstrated that the administration of KLX by intragastric gavage alleviated cardiac dysfunction, hypertrophy, and fibrosis induced by transverse aortic constriction (TAC) surgical operation. Meanwhile, KLX administration relieved endothelial to mesenchymal transition of TAC mice. In TGF β1-treated primary cultured adult mouse cardiac fibroblasts (CFs) and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs), KLX inhibited cell proliferation and collagen secretion. Also, KLX suppressed the transformation of fibroblasts to myofibroblasts in CFs. Further studies revealed that KLX-mediated cardiac protection was due to the inhibitory role of TGF-β1/ERK1/2 noncanonical pathway. In summary, our study indicates that KLX attenuated cardiac fibrosis and dysfunction of TAC mice, providing a potentially effective therapeutic strategy for heart pathological remodeling.

Objective. To investigate the effects of lycopene-loaded microemulsion (LME) on the cognitive function and neurogenesis in the dentate gyrus (DG) of the hippocampus and subventricular (SVZ) region of rats with amyloid β- (Aβ-) induced Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and its mechanism based on the Wnt/β-catenin pathway. Methods. Healthy Wistar rats were divided into four groups: the blank control (CON), AD control, traditional lycopene (LOO), and LME groups. The CON and AD groups were fed with normal saline, while the LOO group was fed with traditional lycopene, and the LME group was fed with lycopene-loaded microemulsion. Behavioral tests were performed after three weeks of gastric administration. Immunofluorescence-labeled cells were used to observe the differentiation and maturation of new nerve cells in the DG of the hippocampus and SVZ region. qRT-PCR and Western blotting detected the expression of neurogenesis genes and Wnt/β-catenin pathway-related proteins, respectively. Results. On the Morris water maze test, LME rats had significantly shortened movement trajectory on the searching platform, reduced escape latency time, and increased residence time on the original platform quadrant. In addition, more LME rats crossed the platform when it was removed. Thus, LME can improve the spatial learning and memory of Aβ-induced AD rats. On qRT-PCR, LME significantly increased Reelin, Nestin, and Pax6 gene expressions, which regulate neurogenesis. Immunofluorescence showed that LME could significantly increase BrdU+, Dcx+, BrdU+/Neun+, BrdU+/Dcx+ cells in the DG and SVZ regions, thus promoting neurogenesis. LME also reduced the number of Iba1+ and Iba1+/BrdU+ cells, thus reducing the neuroinflammatory response. On Western blot, LME upregulated the Wnt/β-catenin pathway by upregulating Wnt3a, β-catenin, Disheveled (Dvl), and p-GSK3β and downregulating p-β-catenin and GSK3β. Conclusion. LME attenuates cognitive impairment in Aβ-induced AD rats by promoting neurogenesis in the hippocampus and SVZ region through upregulating the Wnt/β-catenin pathway.

Background: Although Epicutaneo cava catheters (ECCs) are being routinely used for intravenous access for long-term parenteral nutrition and prolonged medication administration in neonates, ECC use can be associated with rare but acute life-threatening events such as pleural effusion (PE). It is important to identify and maintain the ECC tip in a central location for preventing complications. Recently, intracavitary electrocardiogram (IC-ECG) has been developed for the real-time monitoring and verification of ECC tip position.Objective: To investigate the causes and preventive measures of ECC-related PE in neonates.Methods: This prospective cohort study was conducted between January 2013 and December 2017. We observed and analyzed the clinical characteristics and causes of ECC-related PE. From January to December 2017, all ECCs were guided by IC-ECG. The incidence of ECC-related PE and first-attempt success rates were analyzed before and after the introduction of IC-ECG. Additionally, the sensitivity and specificity of IC-ECG were evaluated.Results: ECC-related PE was identified in 14 infants. Catheters were malpositioned in three cases; in the other 11 cases, catheters were located centrally on insertion but had migrated to non-central locations at the time of PE. After the introduction of IC-ECG, the incidence of PE was zero (P < 0.05). The incidence of ECC-related PE was lower when veins of the lower extremities were selected as the insertion site (P < 0.05). The first-attempt success rate was significantly higher in the group with IC-ECG-guided ECC placement than in the group without (P < 0.05). The sensitivity and specificity of IC-ECG were 97.9 and 84.6%, respectively.Conclusion: ECC-related PE can be associated with either primary malposition or migration of the catheter tip. IC-ECG can help detect malposition and migration of catheter tips and improve the first-attempt success rate. Choosing a lower extremity insertion site may help decrease the rate of ECC-related PE. In neonates, IC-ECG is a reliable positioning method for ECCs with superior sensitivity and specificity.

Background Motor information in the brain is transmitted from the dorsal premotor cortex (PMd) to the primary motor cortex (M1), where it is further processed and relayed to the spinal cord to eventually generate muscle movement. However, how information from the PMd affects M1 processing and the final output is unclear. Here, we applied intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS) to the PMd to alter cortical excitability not only at the application site but also at the PMd projection site of M1. We aimed to determine how PMd iTBS–altered information changed M1 processing and the corticospinal output. Methods In total, 16 young, healthy participants underwent PMd iTBS with 600 pulses (iTBS600) or sham-iTBS600. Corticospinal excitability, short-interval intracortical inhibition (SICI), and intracortical facilitation (ICF) were measured using transcranial magnetic stimulation before and up to 60 min after stimulation. Results Corticospinal excitability in M1 was significantly greater 15 min after PMd iTBS600 than that after sham-iTBS600 (p = 0.012). Compared with that after sham-iTBS600, at 0 (p = 0.014) and 15 (p = 0.037) min after iTBS600, SICI in M1 was significantly decreased, whereas 15 min after iTBS600, ICF in M1 was significantly increased (p = 0.033). Conclusion Our results suggested that projections from the PMd to M1 facilitated M1 corticospinal output and that this facilitation may be attributable in part to decreased intracortical inhibition and increased intracortical facilitation in M1. Such a facilitatory network may inform future understanding of the allocation of resources to achieve optimal motion output.

Background: The dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) in both hemispheres have a central integrative function for motor control and behavior. Understanding the hemispheric difference between DLPFC and ipsilateral motor cortex connection in the resting-state will provide fundamental knowledge to explain the different roles DLPFC plays in motor behavior.Purpose: The current study tested the interactions between the ipsilateral DLPFC and the primary motor cortex (M1) in each hemisphere at rest. We hypothesized that left DLPFC has a greater inhibitory effect on the ipsilateral M1 compared to the right DLPFC.Methods: Fourteen right-handed subjects were tested in a dual-coil paired-pulse paradigm using transcranial magnetic stimulation. The conditioning stimulus (CS) was applied to the DLPFC and the test stimulus (TS) was applied to M1. Interstimulus intervals (ISIs) between CS and TS were 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 ms. The result was expressed as a percentage of the mean peak-to-peak amplitude of the unconditioned test pulse.Results: There was stronger inhibitory effect for the left compared to the right hemisphere at ISIs of 2 (p = 0.045), 10 (p = 0.006), 15 (p = 0.029) and 20 (p = 0.024) ms. There was no significant inhibition or facilitation at any ISI in the right hemisphere.Conclusions: The two hemispheres have distinct DLPFC and M1 cortico-cortical connectivity at rest. Left hemisphere DLPFC is dominant in inhibiting ipsilateral M1.

Metal-organic frameworks are an emerging and fascinating category of porous solids that can be self-assembled with metal-based cations linked by organic molecules. The unique features of MOFs in porosity (or surface areas), together with their diversity for chemical components and architectures, make MOFs attractive candidates in many applications. MOF membranes represent a long-term endeavor to convert MOF crystals in the lab to potentially industry-available commodities, which, as a promising alternative to distillation, provide a bright future for energy-efficient separation technologies closely related with chemicals, the environment, and energy. The membrane reactor shows a typical intensified process strategy by combining the catalytic reaction with the membrane separation in one unit. This review highlights the recent process of MOF-based membranes and the importance of MOF-based membrane reactors in relative intensified chemical processes.

Hypertension is a major risk factor for stroke and cardiovascular events in clinic, which is accompanied by the abnormality of vascular tone and endothelial dysfunction of small artery. Here we report that Kang Le Xin (KLX), a novel anthraquinones compound, could reduce blood pressure and the underlying mechanisms involves that KLX induces endothelium-dependent vasodilation. KLX significantly decreases the arterial blood pressure of spontaneous hypertensive rats (SHR), decreases the contractile reactivity of superior mesenteric artery to phenylephrine and increases the vasodilatory reactivity of superior mesenteric artery to carbachol in a dose-dependent manner. Besides, KLX reduces vascular tension of endothelium-intact mesenteric artery pre-constricted with phenylephrine in a dose-dependent manner, while this effect is inhibited by depriving vascular endothelium or pretreating vascular rings with L-NAME (endothelial nitric oxide synthase inhibitor) or compound C (AMP-activated protein kinase inhibitor). Moreover, KLX increases nitric oxide (NO) generation, endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS), AKT and AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) phosphorylation in cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs), while these effects are inhibited by pretreating cells with compound C. In conclusion, KLX is a new compound with the pharmacological action of reducing arterial blood pressure. The underlying mechanism involves KLX induces endothelium-dependent vasodilation through activating AMPK-AKT-eNOS signaling pathway.

Abstract Background Glycolysis is an important metabolic oncogenic change also play a pivot role in the Warburg effect. Glycolysis related gene PKM2 expressed differently individually. Presently, we sought to investigate the effect of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) at rs61991156 of miR-379 on gastric cancer (GC) proliferation and metabolism. Methods The genotype of rs61991156 in miR-379 was investigated by using real-time PCR. The glycolysis-related metabolites were determined by using GC–TOF–MS. The biological effects of rs61991156 in miR-379 was explored by in vitro studies. Results In this study, we found that rs61991156 in miR-379 was involved in the occurrence of GC by acting on the 3′UTR region of PKM2. The clinical data analysis revealed that A > G in rs187960998 was significantly associated with better differentiation, small tumor size, and non-metastasis. In vitro study further revealed that A > G SNP of miR-379 could decrease GC cell proliferation as well as the promoter activity and expression of PKM2. The glycolysis of the patients with miR-379 GG genotype was significantly lower than AG and AA genotype by metabolomics analysis. The patients with AA genotype have significantly lower PKM2 expression compared to the G carrier, while there is no significant expression difference in miR-379 expression. Patients with AA genotype have significantly shorter survival rate compared to the G carrier. Conclusion rs61991156 in miR-379 was highly associated with a decreased risk, well differentiation and better post-surgery survival in Chinese population by inhibiting the expression of PKM2.

We identified a case of fatal acute respiratory disease from household transmission of human adenovirus type 55 (HAdV-55) in Anhui Province, China. Computed tomography showed severe pneumonia. Comparative genomic analysis of HAdV-55 indicated the virus possibly originated in Shanxi Province, China. More attention should be paid to highly contagious HAdV-55.

Abstract The gastrointestinal tract is responsible for food digestion and absorption. The muscularis propria propels the foodstuff through the GI tract and defects in intestine motility may cause obstruction disorders. Our present genetic studies identified non-receptor tyrosine kinase c-Abl as an important regulator of the muscularis propria homeostasis and a risk factor for rectal prolapse. Mouse deficient for c-Abl showed defects in the muscularis propria of gastrointestinal tract and older c-Abl −/− mice developed megaesophagus and rectal prolapse. Inhibition of c-Abl with imatinib mesylate, an anti-CML drug, or ablation of c-Abl using Prx1-Cre, which marks smooth muscle cells, recapitulated most of the muscularis propria phenotypes. The pathogenesis of rectal prolapse was attributable to overproliferation of smooth muscle cells, which was caused by enhanced ERK1/2 activation. Administration of ERK inhibitor U0126 impeded the development of rectal prolapse in c-Abl deficient mice. These results reveal a role for c-Abl-regulated smooth muscle proliferation in the pathogenesis of rectal prolapse, and imply that long-term use of imatinib mesylate may cause gastrointestinal problems in patients while ERK inhibitor may be effective in treating rectal prolapse.

This study investigated traditional conservation and storage methods for Chinese silk manuscripts containing painting and calligraphy from the Warring States period (475–221 BC), the Qin dynasty (221–207 BC), the Han dynasty (202–8 BC; AD 25–220), and from the end of the Han to the present. At present, there is gap in the literature regarding the application of such methods to these works. The study methods include a literature review (classical and contemporary sources), expert interviews, and observation of traditional masters. The findings provide an improved understanding of the development of traditional technologies used for painting and calligraphy conservation since 475 BC. In this way, this work contributes to the body of knowledge regarding traditional conservation and storage methods, including mounting practices, scroll unfolding, and box storage.

Aimed at reducing simulation uncertainty of hydrological models in data-sparse basins where soil hydraulic data are unavailable, a method of estimating soil water parameters of soil and water assessment tool (SWAT) from readily available soil information using pedotransfer functions was introduced. The method was evaluated through a case study of Jinjiang Basin, China and was performed based on comparison between two model calibrations: (1) soil parameters estimated from pedotransfer functions and other parameters obtained from calibration; and (2) all parameters derived from calibration. The generalized likelihood uncertainty estimation (GLUE) was used as a model calibration and uncertainty analysis tool. The results show that information contained in streamflow data is insufficient to derive physically reasonable soil parameter values via calibration. The proposed method can reduce simulation uncertainty, resulting from greater average performance of behavioral parameter sets identified by GLUE. Exploring the parameter space reveals that the means of estimating soil parameters has little influence on other parameters. These facts indicate the decrease in uncertainty most likely results from a more realistic description of soil water characteristics than calibration. Thus, the proposed method is superior to calibration for estimating soil parameters of SWAT model when basin data are sparse.

Background/Aims: SOCS3 is tumor suppressor which has been identified as upstream of JAK/STAT3 signaling by specific kinase inhibition. However, additional regulations especially through a non-coding RNA approach were remained unknown. Methods: We performed case-control study focusing on the miRNAs associated SNPs in SOCS3 to investigate the further relationship of the SNPs with miRNAs among Chinese gastric cancer (GC) patients. Genotyping, real time PCR assay, cell transfection and the dual luciferase reporter assay were used in our study. Results: We found that patients suffering from Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection indicating as susceptible population by comparing with controls. Besides, SNP rs115785973 in SOCS3 was identified as a risk factor in the occurrence of GC highly associated with poor differentiation grade, larger tumor size and metastasis. In vitro assay found that rs115785973 could be regulated by miR-4308 which caused an up-regulation of SOCS3 in patients with GA and AA genotype. Conclusion: Our findings have shown that the SNP rs115785973 in SOCS3 disrupting the regulatory role of miR-4308 in SOCS3 expression, rs115785973 in SOCS3 might act as a risk factor in the pathogenesis of GC.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a noninvasive brain-stimulation technique that transiently modulates cerebral cortex excitability, achieving overall positive results in poststroke motor-function recovery. Excessive inhibition of the ipsilesional-affected hemisphere by the contralesional-unaffected hemisphere has seriously hindered poststroke motor-function recovery. Hence, intracortical disinhibition can be used as an approach to managing poststroke brain injury. This technique promotes neural plasticity for faster motor-function recovery. rTMS relieves unilateral inhibition of the brain function by regulatinga interhemispheric-imbalanced inhibition. This paper summarized 12 studies from 2016 to date, focusing on rTMS on motor function after acute and chronic stroke by regulating the interhemispheric imbalance of inhibitory inputs. Although rTMS studies have shown promising outcomes on recovery of motor functions in stroke patients, different intervention methods may lead to discrepancies in results. A uniform optimal stimulus model cannot routinely be used, mainly due to the stimulus schemes, stroke types and outcome-measuring differences among studies. Thus, the effect of rTMS on poststroke motor-function recovery should be investigated further to standardize the rTMS program for optimal poststroke motor-function recovery. More randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials with standardized rTMS protocols are needed to ensure the effectiveness of the treatment.

Background Both motor imagery (MI) and motor execution (ME) can facilitate motor cortical excitability. Although cortical excitability is modulated by intracortical inhibitory and excitatory circuits in the human primary motor cortex, it is not clear which intracortical circuits determine the differences in corticospinal excitability between ME and MI. Methods We recruited 10 young healthy subjects aged 18−28 years (mean age: 22.1 ± 3.14 years; five women and five men) for this study. The experiment consisted of two sets of tasks involving grasp actions of the right hand: imagining and executing them. Corticospinal excitability and short-interval intracortical inhibition (SICI) were measured before the interventional protocol using transcranial magnetic stimulation (baseline), as well as at 0, 20, and 40 min (T0, T20, and T40) thereafter. Results Facilitation of corticospinal excitability was significantly greater after ME than after MI in the right abductor pollicis brevis (APB) at T0 and T20 (p < 0.01 for T0, and p < 0.05 for T20), but not in the first dorsal interosseous (FDI) muscle. On the other hand, no significant differences in SICI between ME and MI were found in the APB and FDI muscles. The facilitation of corticospinal excitability at T20 after MI correlated with the Movement Imagery Questionnaire (MIQ) scores for kinesthetic items (Rho = −0.646, p = 0.044) but did not correlate with the MIQ scores for visual items (Rho = −0.265, p = 0.458). Discussion The present results revealed significant differences between ME and MI on intracortical excitatory circuits of the human motor cortex, suggesting that cortical excitability differences between ME and MI may be attributed to the activation differences of the excitatory circuits in the primary motor cortex.

Human adenovirus type 55 (HAdV-B55) is a recently identified acute respiratory disease (ARD) pathogen in HAdV species B with a recombinant genome between renal HAdV-B11 and respiratory HAdV-B14. Since HAdV-B55 first appeared in China school in 2006, no more ARD cases associated with it had been reported until 2011, when there was an outbreak of adult severe community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) in Beijing, China. Reported here is the bioinformatics analysis of the re-emergent HAdV-B55 responsible for this outbreak. Recombination and protein sequence analysis re-confirmed that this isolate (BJ01) was a recombinant virus with the capsid hexon gene from HAdV-B11. In 1955, Human adenovirus type 14 (HAdV-B14p) was firstly identified in a military trainee diagnosed as acute respiratory disease (ARD) in the Netherlands. Fifty years later, a genomic variant, HAdV-B14p1, re-emerged in the U.S. and caused large and fatal ARD outbreaks. Subsequently, more and more ARD outbreaks occurred in Canada, the UK, Ireland, and China, in both military and civil settings. To generate a tool for the efficient characterization of this new genomic variant, a full-length infectious genomic clone of HAdV-B14 was successfully constructed using one-step Gibson Assembly method in this study. Firstly, the full genome of HAdV-B14p1 strain GZ01, the first HAdV-B14 isolate in China, was assembled into pBR322 plasmid by Gibson Assembly. The pBRAdV14 plasmid, generated by Gibson Assembly, was analyzed and verified by PCR, restriction enzymes digestion and the sequencing. Secondly, viruses were rescued from pBRAdV14-transfected A549 cells. The integrity of the rescued viruses was identified by restriction enzyme analysis. The complete sequence of the infectious clone was further sequenced. No mutation was found in the infectious clone during the construction when compared with the parental virus and pBR322 sequences. The direct immunofluorescence assay indicated the expression of the hexon protein. Finally, typical virions were observed; the one-step growth curves further showed that the DNA replication and viral reproduction efficiency of pBRAd14 derived viruses was similar with that of wild-type HAdV-B14 strain. The successful construction of the replication-competent infectious clone of pBRAdV14 facilitates the development of vaccine and antiviral drugs against HAdV-B14, as well as provides a novel strategy for rapid construction of infectious viral clones for other large-genome DNA viruses.

Our previous work indicated that TWEAK is associated with various types of cutaneous vasculitis (CV). Herein, we investigate the effects of TWEAK on vascular injury and adhesion molecule expression in CV mice. We showed that TWEAK priming in mice induced a local CV. Furthermore, TWEAK priming also increased the extravasation of FITC-BSA, myeloperoxidase activity and the expression of E-selectin and ICAM-1. Conversely, TWEAK blockade ameliorated the LPS-induced vascular damage, leukocyte infiltrates and adhesion molecules expression in LPS-induced CV. In addition, TWEAK treatment of HDMECs up-regulated E-selectin and ICAM-1 expression at both mRNA and protein levels. TWEAK also enhanced the adhesion of PMNs to HDMECs. Finally, western blot data revealed that TWEAK can induce phosphorylation of p38, JNK and ERK in HDMECs. These data suggest that TWEAK acted as an inducer of E-selectin and ICAM-1 expression in CV mice and HDMECs, may contribute to the development of CV.
