Abstract

This study delves into the intricacies of the peristaltic mechanism exhibited by a non-Newtonian Ree-Eyring Nano-liquid, investigating its behavior in the presence of varying liquid properties and heat and mass transfer phenomena. The objective of the present investigation is to conduct a thorough analysis of this mechanism, taking into account the influence of wall properties and the dynamic nature of liquid properties. The Buongiorno nanofluid model is adopted to investigate heat and mass transfer phenomena, while the Ree-Eyring non-Newtonian fluid model is employed to comprehend the complex rheological characteristics of the fluid. This complex process’s modeling involves utilizing long wavelengths and low Reynolds number approximations. The resulting non-linear ordinary differential equations are addressed using the homotopy perturbation technique, incorporating appropriate non-dimensional parameters. A strong correlation is observed between homotopy perturbation results and previously existing literature. The magnetic field is a critical factor in shaping the fluid flow behavior, while the interplay between variable liquid properties and nanofluid characteristics significantly affects temperature profiles. The Ree-Eyring fluid and magnetic parameters enhance the heat and mass transfer coefficient. This research advances the understanding of peristalsis in the context of Ree-Eyring Nano-liquids, holding promising implications for diverse applications in both technical and medical domains.

Abstract

AbstractIn the present investigation, magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) micropolar fluid flow between a stationary disc and a rotating disc with a constant angular velocity is considered. The study investigates the effect of magnetic field and microrotation structure on the flow characteristics. The governing equations of motion are transformed to a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) in dimensionless form using Von Karman’s similarity transformations. An algorithm based on implicit finite difference method-Keller-box Scheme is employed to solve the resulting similarity equations for various pertinent parameters. Numerical solutions of velocity profiles, pressure gradient and microrotation profiles are discussed, and presented through tables and graphs for various Magnetic parameter. Comparisons are made between the obtained results and previously reported findings in the literature. The successful validation against existing literature supports the effectiveness of the methodology employed in this investigation.

Abstract

The convective micropolar fluid flow over a permeable shrinking sheet in the presence of a heat source and thermal radiation with the magnetic field directed towards the sheet has been studied in this paper. The mathematical formulation considers the partial slip condition at the sheet, allowing a realistic representation of the fluid flow near the boundary. The governing equations for the flow, heat, and mass transfer are formulated using the conservation laws of mass, momentum, angular momentum, energy, and concentration. The resulting nonlinear partial differential equations are transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations using suitable similarity transformations. The numerical solutions are obtained using robust computational techniques to examine the influence of various parameters on the velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles. The impact of slip effects, micropolar fluid characteristics, and permeability parameters on the flow features and heat transfer rates are thoroughly analyzed. The findings of this investigation offer valuable insights into the behavior of micropolar fluids in free convection flows over permeable shrinking sheets with slip, providing a foundation for potential applications in various industrial and engineering processes. Key findings include the observation that the velocity profile overshoots for assisting flow with decreasing viscous force and rising magnetic effects as opposed to opposing flow. The thermal boundary layer thickness decreases due to buoyant force but shows increasing behavior with heat source parameters. The present result agrees with the earlier findings for specific parameter values in particular cases.

4. Wavelet-Based Numerical Solution for MHD Boundary-Layer Flow Due to Stretching Sheet

Abstract

In this paper, a two-dimensional steady flow of a viscous fluid due to a stretching sheet in the presence of a magnetic field is considered. We proposed two new numerical schemes based on the Haar wavelet coupled with a collocation approach and quasi-linearization process for solving the Falkner-Skan equation representing the governing problem. The important derived quantities representing the fluid velocity and wall shear stress for various values of flow parameters M and β are calculated. The proposed methods enable us to obtain the solutions even for negative β, nonlinear stretching parameter, and smaller values of the magnetic parameter ( M < 1 ) which was missing in the earlier findings. Numerical and graphical results obtained show an excellent agreement with the available findings and demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the developed schemes. Another significant advantage of the present method is that it does not depends on small parameters and initial presumptions unlike in traditional semi-analytical and numerical methods.

A systematic, computerized algorithm was used to identify records pertaining to elastomeric pumps using local anesthesia. Included records indicated the use of local anesthesia or were determined to involve the use of local anesthetics (if they did not contain specific information on drug use). Reports were analyzed within the MAUDE event type categories of malfunction, injury, death, other, and missing. Possible cases of liver injury or surgical site infection were also identified. Manual review of narratives provided in MAUDE was performed by 2 reviewers to identify possible or probable cases of local anesthetic system toxicity (LAST).Results: From a pool of 384,285 reports about elastomeric pumps from the MAUDE database, 4093 met inclusion criteria for involving elastomeric pumps to deliver local anesthetics, with the peak number of reports occurring in 2014. Of these identified reports, 3624 (88.5%) were categorized as malfunctions, 292 (7.1%) as injuries, and 8 (0.2%) as involving death. We identified 13 cases (0.3%) of possible liver injury and 51 cases (1.2%) of possible surgical site infection; 139 reports (3.4%) were determined to be probably (n=53) or possibly (n=86) associated with LAST.Conclusion: Malfunction of elastomeric pumps delivering local anesthetics leaves patients vulnerable to injury or death. Our study indicates that reports of malfunction, injury, and death have been reported to the MAUDE database. These reports likely reflect an underrepresentation of cases in the real-world population, emphasizing the need for more comprehensive medical device reporting.Keywords: postoperative analgesia, medical device reporting, local anesthetic systemic toxicity, safety events

Abstract

In this study, we looked at a two-dimensional constant, laminar, and incompressible viscous flow between two porous discs in the presence of an external magnetic field. The proper similarity transformations simplify the complicated governing problem to nonlinear differential equations with suitable velocity slip and other boundary conditions. The Keller-box method, an efficient finite-difference approach, is used to get its solutions. The purpose of this analysis is to investigate the effect of non-zero tangential slip velocity on velocity, temperature profiles, and shear stress for various relevant parameters. The data is then displayed in tables and graphs to examine velocity and temperature profiles for different flow parameters such as Reynolds number, Hartmann number, Prandtl number, and slip coefficient. In the absence of slip, the results were quite similar to previous findings.

Abstract

Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo are monitoring the sky and collecting gravitational-wave strain data with sufficient sensitivity to detect signals routinely. In this paper we describe the data recorded by these instruments during their first and second observing runs. The main data products are gravitational-wave strain time series sampled at 16384 Hz. The datasets that include this strain measurement can be freely accessed through the Gravitational Wave Open Science Center at http://gw-openscience.org, together with data-quality information essential for the analysis of LIGO and Virgo data, documentation, tutorials, and supporting software.

22. Novel 1, 3, 4-Oxadiazole-pyridine hybrids as potential DNA gyrase B inhibitors (5D7R): ADMET prediction and molecular docking study

Abstract

A small molecule (ligand) is placed in the binding site of its macromolecular target (receptor) using a computational process called molecular docking, which also calculates the binding affinity of the small molecule. With the use of PyRx software, the current study tried a high-throughput in-silico screening of 16 compounds docked with the crystal structure of DNA gyrase B receptors (PDB ID: 5D7R). In the range of -8.0 and -8.1, 3 of these 16 compounds displayed very good mol dock scores. As a typical medicine, amoxicillin medications have a mol dock score of -7.1. According to the results, all of the investigated ligands occupy similar positions and directions within the putative binding site of DNA gyrase B receptors (PDB ID: 5D7R), which reveals a sizable area surrounded by a membrane binding domain that acts as a pathway for substrate entry into the active site. Additionally, any small molecule's affinity can be viewed as a special instrument in the field of drug design and provide a possibility for future study to create an antibacterial activity. Additionally, ADME evaluations must be used to confirm compounds that are candidates for oral administration. The findings demonstrated that compound 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d, 4i, 4j, and 4k absorbed from GIT and compound 4i, 4j, and 4k fulfilled the Lipinski rule. 24. Cone-beam Computed Tomography Evaluation of Non-surgical management of a Large Periapical Lesion using Calcium hydroxide intracanal medicament: A 1-year follow-up case report

Abstract

This case report aims to assess the healing of a large periapical lesion non-surgically using Calcium hydroxide (CH) with the aid of Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT). A 28-year-old female patient presented with pain and swelling in the lower anterior teeth (31, 32, 41, 42) (Federation Dentaire Internationale (FDI) tooth notation system). Patient history and pre-operative radiographic examination revealed incomplete root canal treatment in relation to 31, 32, 41, 42 with periapical abscess. During the first visit, the access cavity was modified, followed by determination of the working length and biomechanical preparation. In the present case report, (CH) intracanal medicament(ICM) was placed in the canals for 2 weeks, and the process was repeated until the canals were dry. Once the canals were dry and the teeth became asymptomatic, obturation was performed. Permanent coronal seal was provided using composite restorative material. One year periodic follow-up was carried out to assess the healing of the periapical lesion, following which, post-operative healing was assessed with the help of CBCT- Periapical Index (CBCT-PAI) and was compared with the pre-operative CBCT-PAI. Regression of the lesion and formation of the trabecular pattern of the bone were noted. Intracanal medication with calcium hydroxide complemented the instrumentation with irrigation and optimal disinfection of the root canal system. In this case report, the use of CBCT as a diagnostic tool helped in the accurate measurement of periapical lesion size.

Abstract Oscillatory flow in confined spaces is central to understanding physiological flows and rational design of synthetic periodic-actuation based micromachines. Using theory and experiments on oscillating flows generated through a laser-induced cavitation bubble, we associate the dynamic bubble size (fluid velocity) and bubble lifetime to the laser energy supplied—a control parameter in experiments. Abstract

The present study deals with the steady axisymmetric flow of micropolar fluid between two parallel porous plates when the fluid is injected through both walls at the same rate. The influence of velocity slip at the porous surface is analyzed. A detailed finite-difference solution is developed for the resulting non-linear coupled differential equations representing velocities and microrotation. The numerical computations are obtained for radial, axial velocities, and microrotation for varying injection Reynolds number, micropolar parameter, and slip coefficient. Further, a comparison of the results is given with those obtained in the literature with different methods as special cases.

Abstract

In this research, synthesis and assessment of the mechanical and wear possessions of Al7049-nano B4C composites are determined by experiments. Using the liquid metallurgy route, a stir casting technique was used to create composites with increasing concentrations of nano B4C from 3 to 9 weight %. Each composite's reinforcement particles were heated to 400 degrees Celsius before being added to the molten Al7049 alloy in two separate steps, i.e., two-stage stir casting to optimise wettability and distribution. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was utilised to examine the microstructure, and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) was utilised to determine the elemental make-up. Mechanical characteristics of composites were determined by subjecting them to tensile, compression, and hardness tests. Wear tests were conducted as per ASTM G99 standards with varying loads and speeds. Nanosized B4C particles were found to be dispersed throughout the sample space in a microstructural analysis. Hardness, ultimate strength, yield strength, and compression strength of Al7049 alloy composites were found to increase significantly as the weight percentage of nano B4C was increased. Additionally, compared to the unreinforced form, the ductility of the Al7049 alloy composites was slightly reduced. SEM micrographs of tensile-fractured specimens were used for research into the field of tensile fractography. Nano B4C reinforced composites exhibited superior wear resistance as compared to Al7049 alloy. These prepared composites can be used for wing root fitting of an aircraft. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
