Wildlife resorts are one of the most prominent and attractive segments of the accommodation sector. They face many socio-economic and environmental challenges to implement sustainable tourism practices in their daily operations. This study aims at investigating whether there is any relationship between socio-economic and environmental issues, and challenges faced by wildlife resorts in implementing sustainable tourism practices, and the indicators used by the resorts to measure their sustainable tourism practices. The study employs triangulation design to conduct the research. Survey method was employed for identifying the sustainable tourism indicators and personal interviews with resort managers were conducted to identify the operational issues and challenges of wildlife resorts for the implementation of sustainable practices. Based on purposive sampling, sixteen wildlife resorts from the Indian state of Karnataka are selected for the study. Dedoose software is used to conduct mixed method analysis, to compare and analyse the data obtained from both qualitative and quantitative methods.

Southwest Indian state of Karnataka is home to the majority of speakers of the ancient Dravidian language known as Kannada. The word models embeddings are employed in natural language processing for upcoming Indic NLP work. We convert Kannada voice data to Kannada text data using machine learning techniques and a specific analogy and similarity challenge, and then access our models for the subsequent task of text classification.

Effective spatial planning in an urban center is the need of the hour especially for offering affordable and sustainable houses. Spatial planning may help in achieving Sustainable Development goals (SDG) (09) Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, (11) Sustainable Cities and Communities, and (15) Life on Land. Prefabricate house models can be used as strategy in achieving above mentioned SDGs. It is important to study the prefabricated housing market for a country like India, considering its growing population and necessity of access to affordable and sustainable houses. The main objective of this study is to identify the determinant factors of prefabricated house and its impact on preference among urban consumers. The study is quantitative in nature and adopts a survey method. SEM model is used to analyze the data. A structured questionnaire is developed based on the objectives of the study. The questionnaire majorly focused on perception of sustainability, affordability, durability, barriers, opportunities, and quality.

Dental caries remains severe oral health problem, despite being the most preventable disease. The fact regarding this disease is that even though several efforts are made towards its total eradication, it is still prevalent. It was easier to work on the resultant effect of the disease rather than imagining the unseen pathological mechanism, which led to the resultant obvious effect. However, conventional management of carious lesion requires patient’s cooperation, which is the most important consideration in pediatric dentistry, the lack of which leads to progression of disease and subsequent tooth loss. The possibility of detecting non-cavitated stage carious lesions and also the possibility to remineralize/arrest these lesions have noticeably reduced the clinical situations that necessitate restorations. Preventive interventions can be used as an alternative to traditional restorative procedures and one of them is Fluorides, which resulted in significant decrease in prevalence of dental caries. The perfect alternative treatment for dental caries for many circumstances is the application of Silver Diamine Fluoride. The use of SDF provided appropriate care for low income, socially vulnerable children and also in some unique clinical circumstances that may not permit traditional cavity preparation. This article highlights the change in perception of Pediatric dentists towards caries management, preventive care and the role of ‘Magic bullet’ SDF in arresting carious lesions thereby improving the quality of life of children.

Culture and heritage are one of the pull factors that attracts the tourists towards the destination. Tourists consume culture and heritage products in a different form such as experiencing the cuisines, participating in religious festivals, wearing cultural dresses, purchasing souvenirs which reflect culture and heritage of the destination, by visiting to heritage sites, museums and so on. Visiting land-based culture and heritage sites is quite common among tourists. Under the culture and heritage tag, underwater cultural water is getting more attention of the tourists since it give different, memorable and adventure experience. Underwater cultural heritage is nothing but traces of human existence having cultural, historical and archaeological character which have been partially or totally under water. It is essential to conserve and preserve the underwater cultural heritage since it holds the importance of past culture and tradition of the humans. The main objective of the study is to find out tourists’ awareness and importance of preserving underwater cultural heritage. The area of the study covers Gujarat and Tamil Nadu since each destination holds significant underwater cultural heritage value in India. Context and Aim: Coronary artery disease (CAD) has been recorded as the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Studies indicate that participants with CAD show higher degree of pulp calcifications. Localized pulp calcifications are microscopically apparent in more than half of the teeth in young adolescents. However, pulp stones extending to the entire dentition are infrequent and need further evaluation to predict the risk of other probabilities of associated diseases. The present study was planned to estimate the prevalence of pulp stones in participants diagnosed with or undergoing treatment for CAD. Materials and Methods: The present study consisted of 300 participants within an age range of 20–55 years who were divided into the study group consisting of 150 participants, including 108 males and 42 females and 150 age- and sex-matched controls. Pulp stones were imaged using bitewing radiographs using the paralleling technique under standard conditions. The radiographs were interpreted separately by two experienced radiologists. Statistical Analysis Used: The statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS statistics version 20 Core system software (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA), whereas statistical tests used were unpaired t-test and Z-test. The Chi-square test was used to check the prevalence of pulp stones in CAD participants in addition to their arch-wise and region-wise distribution while value of P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: CAD participants exhibited the 100% prevalence of pulp stones while posterior teeth were predominantly affected (P < 0.05). Furthermore, pulp stones were significantly higher in the maxilla than in the mandible in both the groups (P < 0.05). No statistically significant difference was found in gender predilection in the study group, although the control group showed a definite preponderance for the males for the development of pulp stones (P < 0.05). Conclusion: CAD participants have a high chance of being affected with pulp stones. Higher prevalence of this entity in multiple teeth may warrant such an individual, in the presence of other compounding risk factors, as a candidate for CAD to be ruled out.

Transportation has existed for thousands of years. Hence, infrastructure for transportation plays a major key role in most of the metropolitan cities, leading to a change in working strategies. These changes are necessary and are made by keeping various aspects that are needed for the city and it results in being a smart city. Due to industrial establishments, IT parks and other related reasons the population density of the urban area increases in vast numbers. This in turn shoots in the number of vehicles in the urban as commutation resulting in the traffic congestions. The present road infrastructures are not able to appease the rapidly increasing number of automotive mobility on the roads. One of the major infrastructures for mobility is traffic signal management. Currently, the conventional method of the signal controlling that fails to a larger extent in managing the time. A modern-era solution is proposed here by employing the Internet of Things (IoT) that was achieved here by integrating several sensors to the microcontroller. The proposed solutions are favorable effects in reduction of delay, fuel consumption, wastage of energy, pollution from vehicles. To validate the proposed approach a prototype model was demonstrated and it was specifically designed for public and emergency vehicles such as fire brigade and ambulance that had to be needed highest priority at the time of mobility. Hence, a completely automated and intelligent IoT based traffic system is developed and proposed here.

Objectives: The present study aimed to evaluate CD4 cell counts, lipid profile, and oral manifestations in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) patients and their correlation with seronegative controls. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional, hospital-based study, there were three groups of subjects: group A consisting of 500 healthy patients (controls), group B composed of 500 HIV-infected patients, and group C comprised of 500 AIDS patients based on their CD4 cell counts. Background and Objectives: Bleaching reduces the bond strength of enamel, if adhesive restorations are carried out immediately. Reversal of compromised bond strength of bleached enamel by application of antioxidant agents has been reported in the literature. The aim of the study is to assess the neutralizing effect of 6% cranberry (CB) solution on the bond strength of bleached enamel compared with that of 10% sodium ascorbate (SA) solution. Materials and Methods: Enamel surfaces of 64 extracted human premolar teeth were randomly divided into four groups based on the antioxidant used. Further subgrouping was done in Groups II, III, and IV dividing each group into subgroup A and subgroup B of eight teeth each based on whether the bonding was performed immediately or after a delay of 14 days postbleaching respectively. Tourism may also have potential in addressing socio economic issues through sustainable tourism development. Local community participation in tourism activities has also become one of the major principles of sustainable tourism. Tourism is a people oriented industry and its major functions depend on human resources. Tourism is a major source of employment and it has all the capabilities in contributing towards the livelihood of the local community by providing employment and involving them in all kinds of tourism activities. The major objective of the study is to find out how local communities are involved in various activities and practices adopted by resorts for the development of the local community. The scope of the study is confined to wildlife resorts. Percentage analysis is used to analyze the data.

The present investigation was done with the aim of studying the genetics of Indoxacarb resistance. Selection of Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) with Indoxacarb was done for eight generations to develop resistance. Reciprocal crosses between resistant and susceptible populations were made to understand the population genetics of Indoxacarb resistance in H. armigera. Generation-wise selection with Indoxacarb was evaluated for resistance development in H. armigera. The LC50 of Indoxacarb was 2.81 p.p.m. for the first selected generation, and it increased to 272.55 p.p.m. after eight selected generations, which is a 1238.86-fold resistance compared to the susceptible strain. The estimated realized heritability (h2) after eight generations of selection with Indoxacarb was 0.45. The number of generations required for a tenfold increase in LC50 (1/R) was estimated to be 2.59. The response to Indoxacarb selection in H. armigera was 0.39, the estimated selection differential (S) was 0.87, and the phenotypic standard deviation (σp) was 0.03. Reciprocal crosses between Indoxacarb resistant and susceptible strains revealed that the inheritance of Indoxacarb resistance was autosomal: neither maternal effect nor linkage was evident. The values of DLC (0.10 and 0.09) indicated completely recessive inheritance of Indoxacarb resistance.
