Abstract

"This user-friendly Handbook offers guidance and practical suggestions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that could facilitate compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Being primarily addressed to enterprises for which personal data processing is an auxiliary activity, the Handbook explains how to navigate the barrage of resources available on GDPR. In doing so it provides an overview of the main actors in the European data protection landscape. It also clarifies the scope of data protection law and the scope of its application to SMEs. The Handbook introduces concepts and principles that form the crux of personal data protection legal framework and then it unpacks the theory and practice of the risk-based approach to personal data protection. The Handbook seeks to go beyond a mere description of GDPR provisions and obligations stemming from them. It includes a set of proactive measures that were put forward by European DPAs and bodies. In addition, it provides references to other publicly available (open access) resources that also provide practical suggestions. The handbook was prepared in the context of STARII project (2018-2020), co-funded by the European Union under the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme 2014-2020 and ran in the partnership of the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH) (coordinator), the interdisciplinary Research Group on Law, Science, Technology & Society (LSTS) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), and Trilateral Research Ltd (TRI IE) "

Abstract

The Hungarian Central Statistical Office has been carrying out annual surveys on the nonprofit sector since 1993. A method of data collection and processing has been developed for the last 15 years. The study presents not only the methodology, but its function in the practice describing the features of the Hungarian civil sphere. This process is performed by different statistical indicators referring to 2006 and in time series. The data on the size, composition, finance and human resources of the sector can show a satisfying picture to foreign experts having interest in Hungarian nonprofit research., La Oficina Central de Estadística de Hungría ha estado realizando encuestas anuales sobre el Tercer Sector desde 1993. Durante los últimos 15 años se ha desarrollado un método de recogida y procesamiento de datos. El estudio presenta no sólo la metodología, sino su función en la práctica describiendo las características de la esfera civil húngara. Este proceso se realiza mediante diferentes indicadores estadísticos que se refieren a 2006 y a series de tiempo. Los datos sobre el tamaño, composición, finanzas y recursos humanos del sector muestran una imagen satisfactoria para los expertos extranjeros que tienen interés en la investigación del Tercer Sector húngaro.

Abstract

Several membrane processes involve the convective velocityin the boundary layer due to high solubility and diffusivity in themembrane. The relatively high value of the convective velocity, asit can exist during gas separation, can cause convex concentrationdistribution in the boundary layer, and consequently, it can alterthe diffusive flow throughout the boundary layer, as well. How thePeclet number affects the diffusive flow is discussed in the firstpart of this study. It has been stated when the Pe> about 0.3–0.5, the diffusive mass transfer coefficientof the boundary layer obtained by prediction using dimensionless quantities,should be corrected by a factor depending on the Peclet number, obtainedby the exact solution of the boundary layer’s concentrationdistribution. The curvature effect of the concentration distributionis then taken into account by this factor. In the second part of thisstudy, the polarization modulus and enrichment are separately expressedby means of the mass transport parameters of the polarization andmembrane layer. Applying these explicit equations, the change of boththe polarization modulus and enrichment is shown as a function ofthe mass transport parameters, as mass transfer coefficient of thelayers, Peclet number, and solubility coefficient. These equationsenable the user to predict the value of enrichment and/or the polarizationmodulus under any operating conditions for gas separation using adense, polymeric membrane.
