A trigonometric beam theory (TBT) is developed for the bending analysis of laminated composite and sandwich beams considering the effect of transverse shear deformation. The axial displacement field uses trigonometric function in terms of thickness coordinate to include the effect of transverse shear deformation. The transverse displacement is considered as a sum of two partial displacements, the displacement due to bending and the displacement due to transverse shearing. Governing equations and boundary conditions are obtained by using the principle of virtual work. To demonstrate the validity of present theory it is applied to the bending analysis of laminated composite and sandwich beams. The numerical results of displacements and stresses obtained by using present theory are presented and compared with those of other trigonometric theories available in literature along with elasticity solution wherever possible.

Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) are prebiotic compounds that can be produced from lactose-rich dairy waste, such as whey. Whey is a byproduct of cheese, casein, or paneer processing and contains significant amounts of lactose. There are several methods for producing GOS from whey, including enzymatic hydrolysis, fermentation, and the use of cell biomass. Enzymatic hydrolysis is the most commonly used method because it is considered to be a more natural and sustainable process. Various factors affect GOS production from whey, such as the type of enzyme used, reaction conditions, and the degree of lactose hydrolysis. Whey-based GOS has the potential for use as a value-added product in the dairy industry. Several studies have shown the potential of whey-based GOS as a functional ingredient in various food products to improve sensory properties, sweetness, and nutritional value. Whey hydrolysate containing GOS can also be used as a source of dietary fiber and sweetening additives in food products. The production of GOS from whey is a promising approach for the dairy industry to add value to its waste products and produce a functional ingredient with potential health benefits. Further research is needed to optimize the production process and to explore the effects of whey constituents on GOS production.

Abstract.Cloud computing is quickly expanding, with applications in practically every industry, including education. E-learning systems often necessitate a large number of hardware and software resources. Many educational institutions cannot afford such investments, thus cloud computing is the best solution. Here, the Matrix Factorisation-based maximum rate recommendation system (MatFac-Maxirate RS) is utilised to recommend the courses for students to choose their career. According to user access, the e-learning application server is acquired from the E-Khool dataset which is subjected to learner or course agglomerative matrix calculation. The E-learning application server is executed based on Minkowski and Kumar Hasebrook's distance to retrieve learner preference items. The recommended course having the maximum rating is considered which is forecasted with matrix factorisation considering the course ID and learner ID. The MatFac-Maxirate RS generated the finest efficacy with the best precision of 88.9%, recall of 88.2% and F-measure of 87.5%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Our reliance on electronics, a cornerstone of modern life, comes at a cost. The relentless pace of technological advancement generates mountains of discarded devices, creating the growing problem of electronic waste. This E-waste, if improperly disposed of, can contaminate landfills and release harmful materials into the environment. This study investigates a potential solution: using a portion of e-waste in place of fine aggregate. To improve overall performance, we also incorporate mineral admixtures. Our research aims to understand how both the amount of e-waste and the specific mineral admixtures used influence the final properties of the concrete. We systematically replaced the fine aggregate with e-waste at varying percentages (0%, 10%, 20%, and 30%) and meticulously analyzed the resulting effects. The study identifies 10% e-waste replacement as the optimal level for achieving desirable properties in M20 grade concrete, a commonly used strength classification. This approach offers a two-fold benefit. It tackles the e- waste crisis by providing a sustainable disposal option, and it potentially reduces the construction industry's reliance on virgin resources like natural sand, contributing to a more sustainable future.

Background: The choice of sealing material is a crucial factor that influences the outcome of endodontic treatment. Aim: The purpose of this study was to compare the sealing ability of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) Angelus, Endocem MTA, and NeoPutty MTA when used as furcal perforation repair materials. Materials and Methods: A total of 45 mandibular molars were used. Root canal treatment was carried out following which standardized furcal perforations were made. The specimens were randomly divided into three groups of 15 teeth each. Group A-Furcal perforation repair by means of MTA Angelus, Group B-Furcal perforation repair using Endocem MTA, and Group C-Furcal perforation repair by NeoPutty MTA. Following the repair procedure, the pulp chambers and access openings were filled with temporary restorative material and immersed in 1% basic fuchsin dye for 24 h. The teeth were sectioned longitudinally and the linear dye penetration was measured using a stereo-microscope. Results: The one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed a statistically significant difference among the groups (F = 16.15, P < 0.001). On calculating the depth of leakage to the total length of the perforation, it was observed that the mean leakage was 32.83% in Group I, 52.92% in Group II and the lowest, 16.35% in Group III. The ANOVA test reveals a statistically significant difference among the groups (F = 15.92, P < 0.001). Comparing the depth of dye penetration of dye, 33.3% of the Group I samples showed ≥50%, 49%–25%, and <25% dye penetration. Although 56.7% of Group II samples showed ≥50% dye penetration, whereas 63.3% of Group III showed <25% dye penetration. Conclusion: The present study indicated that NeoPutty MTA had the least dye penetration followed by MTA Angelus and Endocem MTA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
