The main objectives were to identify the source and assess the level of air pollution, in accordance with national and international legislation and standards relating to ambient air quality. This work focused on the impact of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions generated by industrial activities of petroleum refining, liquefied natural gas processing and petrochemicals, on the quality of ambient air in the region of Arzew, Algeria in 2017. The study revealed that the average annual CO2 concentration did not exceed the limit value recommended by the European standard EN 13779. This study also demonstrated that the CO2 content levels depended on the emission rates industrial and weather seasons, peaking in summer mainly due to relatively stable weather conditions., Journal of Applied Science and Environmental Studies, Vol. 4, No 3 (2021): 4 (3) 2021

L'audit environnemental est un processus qui évalue périodiquement la performance et la conformité des installations mis en place pour assurer la protection de l'environnement. Cette étude est menée dans le but d'évaluer l'impact de la dispersion des polluants atmosphériques tels que les NOx, PM10 et NH3 sur la qualité de l'air ambiant au niveau des sites industriels et des zones urbaines en 2017, 2018 et 2019, en utilisant le modèle ARIA IMPACT. Les résultats de la modélisation indiquent que le niveau de polluants étudiés en milieu urbains est bien supérieur à l'objectif de qualité de l'air ambiant conformément à la réglementation en vigueur, alors qu'en milieu industriel, l'air ambiant est considéré comme assez pollué en PM10 au niveau des sites industriels N°1 et N°2 et relativement pollué en NOx dans le site industriel N°1., Journal Maghrébin des Sciences Pure & Appliquée, Vol. 7, No 2 (2021): In Progress

Les principaux objectifs étaient d'identifier la source et d'évaluer le niveau de pollution atmosphérique, conformément à la législation et aux normes nationales et internationales relatives à la qualité de l'air ambiant. Ce travail a porté sur l'impact des émissions de dioxyde de carbone (CO2) générées par les activités industrielles de raffinage du pétrole, de traitement du gaz naturel liquéfié et de pétrochimie, sur la qualité de l'air ambiant dans la région d'Arzew, Algérie en 2017. This work focuses on identifying the source of BTEX (Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylene) emissions generated by hydrocarbon-related industrial activities and evaluation of its impact on ambient air quality according to European Union (EU) regulations during 2019. The spatial distribution of BTEX concentrations suggest that massive emissions are mainly due to the oil refining activity. BTEX concentration levels at the sampling sites show that benzene was more dominant. Considering the level of atmospheric pollution relative to the indicative value (2 µg/m3) recommended by the EU, the ambient air is considered to be quite polluted with benzene content (5.36 µg/m3) produced mainly by emissions from the oil refining industrial complex., Maghrebian Journal of Pure and Applied Science, Vol 7, No 1 (2021): In Progress

The paper is devoted to modelling of wave propagation in fluid saturated porous media. The aim is to compare two approaches suitable for wave analysis in periodic structures. The homogenization-based method provides macroscopic models and relies on scale separation, such that the wave length should be much longer than the heterogeneity size. The method based on the Bloch-Floquet theory is applicable for analyzing plane wave propagation in infinite continua only, but enables to capture also effects of Bragg?s scattering. Application of these two methods for computing the dispersion curves of the two-phase media with deformable and rigid skeletons is discussed in the context of two kinds of porous media: 1) deformable fluid-saturated porous media described by the Biot model at the mesoscopic scale, 2) waves in fluids saturating rigid porous structures. Computational studies based on the Bloch wave decomposition were performed for numerical models obtained using the finite element discretization of the corresponding problems imposed in the representative volume element. The results presented in terms of dispersion curves are compared with analogous results obtained using the homogenized models providing directly the shear and pressure wave responses.
