Abstract

The present study is designed to evaluate bioactivity of artemisinin, doxorubicin and index included: anti-cancer using the cancer cell line technique. In vetro, the model involved studying the cytotoxic activity of artemisinin, doxorubicin and mixture on cell line (cancer colorectal, L20B and normal cells) by use fetal serum, antibiotic, tryosin, nystatin, MTT method was used to determine the dose response curve IC50, interaction index and selectivity index for them. In addition, the morphological changes, cell migration and high content screening (HCS) were used for three types cells line The results showed significant results cytotoxic effects in colorectal as compared for index mixture (0.862 mg/ml) with significant difference, P< 0.01 compared with artemisinin and doxorubicin (3.763c mg/ml, 1.591mg/ml) respectively and the index result it is strong synergistic (0.342155805 mg/ml) also significant results for L20B compare for index mixture (0.4389 mg/ml) with significant difference, P< 0.01 compared with artemisinin and doxorubicin (0.54301mg/ml, 0.6385 mg/ml) respectively and the index result it is very synergistic (0.7678 mg/ml) and significant results for normal cells compare for doxorubicin (2.999075b mg/ml) with significant difference, P< 0.01 compared with artemisinin and index (>200c mg/ml, 20.1911a mg/ml) respectively and the index result it is (2.333 mg/ml) very antagonisim. From this study conclusion was artemisinin ineffective in normal cell and heathy animal but effect on cancer cells, doxorubicin very toxicity on normal cells and while interaction index were very synergistic in cancer cell but in normal cells was antagonistic. Abstract

For the purposes of this guideline, a diving accident is defined as an event that is either potentially life-threatening or hazardous to health as a result of a reduction in ambient pressure while diving or in other hyperbaric atmospheres with and without diving equipment. This national consensus-based guideline (development grade S2k) presents the current state of knowledge and recommendations on the diagnosis and treatment of diving accident victims. The treatment of a breath-hold diver as well as children and adolescents does not differ in principle.In this regard only unusual tiredness and itching without visible skin changes are mild symptoms.The key action statements: on-site 100% oxygen first aid treatment, immobilization/no unnecessary movement, fluid administration and telephone consultation with a diving medicine specialist are recommended.Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) remains unchanged as the established treatment in severe cases, as there are no therapeutic alternatives. The basic treatment scheme recommended for diving accidents is hyperbaric oxygenation at 280 kPa., Ein Tauchunfall im Sinne dieser Leitlinie ist ein potenziell lebensbedrohliches oder gesundheitsschädigendes Ereignis, hervorgerufen durch Abfall des Umgebungsdruckes beim Tauchen oder aus sonstiger hyperbarer Atmosphäre mit und ohne Tauchgerät. Diese nationale S2k-Leitlinie legt den aktuellen Stand der Erkenntnisse und der konsentierten Empfehlungen in der Diagnostik und Behandlung von Patienten nach Tauchunfällen dar. 24. Physico-chemical analysis of shale-drilling fluid interaction and its application in borehole stability studies

Abstract

Shale is often the most difficult of all formations to maintain a stable wellbore in when drillincr ::> for oil and gas. Time and money spent overcoming this problem during drilling, together with overall reduced profit margins. has led the oil industry to devote considerable time and effort to solve the problem of unstable boreholes in shales. It has long been established that the moisture adsorption (or desorption) of shale rocks can be controlled by the salinity of drilling fluid. When compacted shale (under constant compaction stress) adsorbs moisture, its total volume increases and swelling strains develop. Developed swelling strains then become an integral part of the effective radial stress acting on the shale formation contributing to borehole failure. A mathematical model has been developed for predicting the swelling behaviour of shale when placed in contact with water under moderate pressures and the effect of the swelling on borehole (in)stability. The model is based on thermodynamic theory which suggests that fluid movement into or out of a shale is driven by an imbalance in the partial molar free energy of the shale and the contacting fluid. Conversion of the free energy of each system (fluid and shale) into "total swelling pressure" made it possible to model transient pressures and strains generated in shale. The analytical solution of the radial diffusivity equation is reduced to a simpler form for the model. The model was validated using equipment and experimental techniques which allow continuous monitoring of shale swelling as function of time and distance from the wetting end. It was found that increasing the compaction stress acting on the shale reduced the rate of swelling, and increasing the hydraulic pressure of the fluid on the shale's wetted surface increased the rate of swelling. This behaviour was adequately described by the model which therefore represents a new method for predicting shale swelling as function of time and radial distance under different environments. Swelling strains are then used to predict related changes in shale mechanical properties (failure criteria) and well (in)stability. Several well-site index tests have been developed to study shale-drilling fluid interaction at wellsite. These index tests can provide input data for the mathematical model. Drilling fluids can be screened for their ability to control shale swelling, thus minimising the risk of well bore instability.

31. EXTENDING THE SHELF-LIFE OF WHEAT BREAD USING PENTOSANES EXTRACTED FROM BARLEY.

Abstract

This research was aimed to delay the staling of wheat bread as one of the most used products globally by adding barley pentosanes, which is neglected and not taken into consideration despite their unique and multiple functional properties and their optimum storage temperature. Water-soluble pentosanes (WSP) and water-insoluble pentosanes (WIP)was extracted from barley (Hordeum vulgare) and added to wheat flour at different percentages. Five treatments were prepared: (T1) from flour only, (T2 and T3) adding WSP at levels of (1 and 2%), (T4 and T5) adding WIP at the same levels respectively. All treatments were stored at (20, 4 and -18 °C), for 72 h. The results indicated that the addition of pentosans (WSP and WIP) delayed the staling of bread, especially at the level of addition (2%) for both, when was stored at freezing temperature (-18°C). The results of the control treatment (T1) and the treatments that included the highest addition level (2%) ( T3 and T5) and after 72 hours of storage at (-18°C) were as follows: The moisture content of bread crumbs decreased to (39.44, 43.32 and 43.91%) respectively. While the moisture in the bread crust increased to (31.61, 33.98, 34.28%), respectively. The swelling power of the bread crumbs and the sediment volume also decreased to (0.74, 1.18, and 1.03%) and (23, 32 and 33%), respectively, which indicates the potency of pentosans and freezing temperature to delay the staling of wheat bread during the storage period. Abstract

Here, the outcomes of experimental measurements and finite-element simulations are used to develop MATLAB/Simulink models for evaluating the transient dynamic behaviour of the well-known dual-core presaturated core fault current limiter (PCFCL), either for single- or three-phase configurations. These models are based on calculating the total flux linkage–current characteristics of the AC coils at different levels of DC biasing current, taking into consideration the induced voltage across the DC coil terminals due to significant flux variation during the fault condition. On the other hand, the time-varying self-inductance and the self-inductance–current characteristics of the PCFCL are directly developed through Simulink modelling. It is worth mentioning that the self-inductance–current characteristic enables an important and quick design optimisation tool for PCFCL, where the dynamic inductance term significantly contributes to the total voltage drop across PCFCL in comparison to the static inductance. These total flux linkage and inductance versus current models can be directly used for modelling the dynamic transient behaviour of PCFCL when attached to any electrical transient programme used for analysing complex electrical power systems, with remarkable accuracy, quicker, and easier for various network scenarios and fault conditions.
