Objective:This study was conducted to evaluate quality of life, functional status and pain in elderly patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Methods:The sample of this study consisted of 229 outpatients followed up in the rheumatology department of a hospital with a diagnosis of RA and those over 65 years old who were treated in the internal medicine clinic of the same hospital. Research data were collected using a Personal Introduction Form, the Disease Activity score 28 (DAS-28), the Numerical Pain Assessment Scale, the Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ) and the SF-36 Quality of Life scale.Results:The physical conditions of the non-RA elderly individuals were statistically worse compared to those with RA (p=0.01). There was a significant negative correlation between patient age and visual analog score, physical function, physical role limitations, emotional role limitations and social functionality subscale scores, and a significant positive correlation between age and HAQ scores (p

Amaç: Bu çalışmada Romatoloji Polikliniğine başvuran RA’lı hastalarda alerjik hastalıkların sıklığı ve hastalık aktivitesi ile olan ilişkisinin değerlendirilmesi etweenMateryal ve Metot: Hastalara, sosyodemografik veri formu ve “Avrupa Topluluğu Solunum Sağlığı Çalışması” (European Community Respiratory Health Study, ATSSÇ) anketi uygulanarak alerjik hastalıkların yaygınlığı ile RA hastalık aktivitesi (DAS-28) arasındaki ilişki saptanmaya çalışılmıştırBulgular: Toplam 135 hasta çalışmaya alındı (108 kadın 27 erkek; yaş ortalaması 53,0±11,1 yıldı). Kadınların %33,3’ünde astım benzeri bulgular görülmüştür. Erkeklerin %33,3’ünde astım benzeri bulgular ve %33,3’ünde non enfeksiyöz rinit görülmektedir. DAS-28 skoru ile anket tanılarının sıklığı arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunamamıştır( p=0,75).Sonuç: Çalışmamızda RA aktivite skoru ile ATSSÇ tanıları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmadı. Literatür taramamızda; RA hastalarında DAS-28 ile alerjik hastalık ilişkisini araştıran bir çalışma bulamadık. Bu nedenle bu sonucun önemli olduğu kanaatindeyiz.

INTRODUCTION: Sjögren's syndrome (SS) is the most common autoimmune, multisystemic rheumatic disease. The wide spectrum of the signs and symptoms of SS often causes difficulties in diagnosis. Patients can apply with different complaints to general practitioners and many different specialists, apart from internists and ophthalmologists, who frequently encounter the disease. Our aim in this study was to evaluate the initial complaints of the patients who have been diagnosed with SS. METHODS: Sixty-six patients who were diagnosed with primary SS according to 2012 or 2016 classification criteria were included in the study. The clinical and laboratory features were retrospectively evaluated. RESULTS: The female/male ratio was 60/6. The initial complaint of most patients (n: 34) was arthralgia or arthritis (51.51%). ANA was positive in 56 patients (84.84%), RF in 19 (28.78%), but not evaluated in 7 (10.6%), anti-SS-A in 29 (43.93%), and anti-SS-B in 16 (24.24%). Sixty-three patients had a positive Schirmer test. Minor salivary gland biopsy was obtained in 42 patients, and 28 had biopsy findings consistent with SS. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: SS is a common disease with a wide variety of clinical presentations. A detailed evaluation of patients is necessary to provide an accurate diagnosis and proper care.

Systemic vasculitic diseases can show recurrence after kidney transplantation, but de novo systemic vasculitis is rarely seen after kidney transplantation, and in literature, there are only a few cases. In general population, the incidence of isolated organ vasculitis is unknown, and according to the best of our knowledge, there is no information about de novo isolated organ vasculitis after renal transplantation. We report, most probably, the first case of a 40-year-old woman who was restarted on dialysis treatment after renal transplantation and developed isolated gastrointestinal vasculitis and intestinal hemorrhage under immunosuppressive treatment. She was treated successfully with rituximab.

Giriş: Ailevi Akdeniz ateşi (AAA) en sık görülen herediter, oto-inflamatuar hastalıktır. Bu çalışmada amacımız AAA hastalarında cinsiyet ve klinik bulgular, hastalık şiddeti ve tedavi uyumu arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Materyal ve Metot: AAA tanılı 150 hastanın arşiv dosyaları retrospektif olarak incelendi. Hastalık şiddeti uluslararası AAA şiddet skorlama sistemi (ISSF) ile, tedavi uyumları 6 maddeli modifiye Morisky ölçeği ile değerlendirildi ve cinsiyetler arası kıyaslandı. Bulgular: AAA tanılı 150 hastanın 87’si (%58) kadın ve 63’ü (%42) erkekti. Erezipel benzeri eritem (EBE) kadınlarda (%51,70 ve %19, p= 0,03) ve miyalji erkeklerde daha sıktı (% 31 ve % 36,50, p=0,015). Diğer klinik bulgular cinsiyetler arası farklılık göstermedi. ISSF skorları arasında da farklılık saptanmadı (2,93±2,05 ve 3,12±2,2; p=0,716). Tedavi uyumu ve bilgi düzeyleri her iki grupta benzerdi. (sırasıyla p=0,228 ve p=0,112,). Sonuç: AAA hastalarında klinik bulgular, ISSF skorları, tedavi uyumu cinsiyetler arası farklılık göstermemektedir. AAA hastalarında cinsiyetin prognoz üzerine etkisi yoktur.
