In the latter part of the 20th century, remarkable developments in new dental materials and technologies were achieved. However, regarding the impact of dental resin-based materials 3D-printed on cellular responses, there have been a limited number of published studies recently. The biocompatibility of dental restorative materials is a controversial topic, especially when discussing modern manufacturing technologies. Three-dimensional printing generates the release of residual monomers due to incomplete polymerization of materials and involves the use of potentially toxic substances in post-printing processes that cannot be completely eliminated. Considering the issue of biocompatibility, this article aims to establish an overview of this aspect, summarizing the different types of biocompatibility tests performed on materials used in 3D printing in dentistry. In order to create this comprehensive review, articles dealing with the issue of 3D printing in dentistry were analysed by accessing the main specialized search engines using specific keywords. Relevant data referring to types of materials used in 3DP to manufacture various dental devices, polymerization methods, factors affecting monomer release, cytotoxicity of unreacted products or post-curing treatments, and methods for assessing biocompatibility were analysed. Although the introduction of new restorative materials used in dental treatments is subject to national and international regulations and standards, it is necessary to investigate them regarding biocompatibility in order to support or deny the manufacturers' statements regarding this aspect. Periimplantitis represents an inflammatory disease of the soft and hard tissues surrounding the osseointegrated dental implant, triggering progressive damage to the alveolar bone. Cumulative data have revealed that periimplantitis plays a crucial part in implant failure. Due to the strategic roles of autophagy and its upstream coordinator, the AKT/mTOR pathway, in inflammatory responses, the crosstalk between them in the context of periimplantitis should become a key research target, as it opens up an area of interesting data with clinical significance. Therefore, in this article, we aimed to briefly review the existing data concerning the complex roles played by ROS in the interplay between the AKT/mTOR signaling pathway and autophagy in periimplantitis, in each of the main cell types involved in periimplantitis pathogenesis and evolution. Knowing how to modulate specifically the autophagic machinery in each of the cellular types involved in the healing and osseointegration steps post implant surgery can help the clinician to make the most appropriate post-surgery decisions. These decisions might be crucial in order to prevent the occurrence of periimplantitis and ensure the proper conditions for effective osseointegration, depending on patients' clinical particularities. The Covid-19 pandemic has made a strong mark on the education system globally. Universities have been compelled to take urgent measures to provide young people with access to education, leading them to invest significant resources in building their own e-learning platforms. Because they were created and implemented in a relatively short time, certain e-learning platforms presented several issues, underscoring the need for improvement. This paper aims to identify students' perceptions of how e-learning platforms should be refined in order to increase the quality of online educational services. The research involved a sample of 114 students enrolled in the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila in Bucharest. Data collection was conducted using an online questionnaire, and data analysis was performed using the IBM SPSS software. The results indicated that there is room for improvement in the quality of the services offered. To achieve this, further steps should focus on the interface of the online platforms, optimizing the presentation of educational materials, and refining the communication between teachers and students. Furthermore, other online tools (e.g., blogs, forums, or mobile applications) should be incorporated within these platforms, in order to facilitate the integrative distribution of information. Reputation is seen as an abstract concept that focuses on patients' perceptions of a particular medical institution. A good image of these practices among patients makes them return to them and also helps attract new patients and increase their reputation and revenue. The paper aimed to explore the respondents' perceptions of the way the image of online dental practices can influence their reputation management. For this purpose, a quantitative study was conducted on a sample of 107 respondents. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire that was posted on an online platform. Data analysis was done by using IBM SPSS software. Titanium is considered to be a biocompatible material and is used to a great extent in the pharmaceutical and oral implantology fields. While initially, specialists considered that its use does not cause adverse effects on the human body, as time has gone by, it has become clear that its use can lead to the development of certain diseases. The objective of this study was to identify the way in which digital technologies have the capacity to facilitate information regarding the potential long-term harm caused by titanium device toxicity during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this study, a regression model was developed to identify how a series of independent variables have the ability to influence the dependent variable (respondents' perceptions of how new web technologies have the ability to help future physicians to facilitate information absorption with regard to potential titanium toxicity). The results illustrated that new technologies have the potential to support both the learning process on this topic and the innovation activity by discovering new solutions that will gradually lead to the reduction of the side effects of titanium used in the pharmaceutical and oral implantology fields.
