The research examines the impact of servant leadership on the innovation capability of higher education institutions in Vietnam. Through the application of structural equation modeling (SEM), the results demonstrated the importance and direct impact of servant leadership style - characterized by prioritizing development and rights of those who follow - to the capability of universities to innovate and the behaviors of knowledge sharing; in which, the knowledge sharing factor plays a partial mediating role. Thereby, a number of recommendations have been proposed to promote servant leadership and enhance innovation capabilities at universities across the country.

Splenic ectopic pregnancy (SEP) is a rare high-mortality condition, particularly relating to life-threatening intraperitoneal bleeding due to a high risk of spontaneous rupture. Diagnosing in a timely fashion is extremely crucial and the patients could benefit from active treatment strategies and early management. In this article, we reviewed a case of 40 years-old female who complained of lower quadrant abdominal pain and amenorrhea with a history of intrauterine device (IUD) insertion for over 6 years. Elevating b-human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) blood levels were documented, raising concern about pregnancy-related emergency conditions. Ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging results suggested a splenic ectopic pregnancy entity with a high rupture rate. The patient subsequently underwent laparoscopic resection for splenic mass removal. Ectopic pregnancy should cautiously be excluded in all cases of abdominal pain in childbearing-age women.

Mesopores and silanol nests are known two technological keys that essentially control the catalytic performance of ZSM-5 zeolite. However, designing and controlling them without using chemicals so that the produced ZSM-5 can have strongly enhanced catalytic properties and more importantly can be applied at industrial scale have still been a big challenge up to now. The present study employed the 10 MeV electron beam (EB) generated from an industrial linear accelerator to introduce both the O-vacancy rich mesopores and stable triad-silanol nests in ZSM-5. The structural modification of irradiated ZSM-5 samples was explored by using SEM and FTIR combined with positron annihilation spectroscopy (PAS) including positron annihilation lifetime (PAL), Doppler broadening (DB) of electron–positron annihilation energy and electron momentum distribution (EMD). Obtained results indicated that EB irradiation could recover the defective-crystal structure as well as intensively modify the structures of ZSM-5. In particular, the mechanism for the solid-state crystallization and the formation of the O-vacancy rich mesopores (maximum size of ∼4.5 nm) in ZSM-5 under the combined EB irradiation (10−110 kGy) and calcination (600 °C) was, for the first time, proposed. The mechanism for the formation of stable triad-silanol nests in the channels of irradiated and calcined ZSM-5 zeolites was also explored. The present study, therefore, opens a new research path of applying both EB irradiation and calcination to produce ZSM-5 with novel features for industrial catalytic application at large-production scale.

The present paper investigates the impact of pairing correlation on the nuclear level density (NLD) and radiative strength function (RSF) of an odd-odd and rare-earth 166Ho nucleus. By employing the exact thermal pairing (EP) solution in conjunction with both the temperature-dependent independent-particle model (EP+IPM) for the NLD and the phonon damping model (EP+PDM) for the RSF, we achieve good agreement with the experimental NLD and RSF data, which have been recently extracted by using the Oslo method. Notably, without adding any extra parameters, our calculations successfully reproduce the pygmy dipole resonances (PDR) and a portion of the strength around the region of scissor resonance (SR) in the RSF. This suggests that the SR in this nucleus may be less pronounced than that obtained in the previous analysis within the phenomenological model. These features are the consequences of the EP and the couplings of the PDM phonon to all the particle-hole (ph), particle-particle (pp), and hole-hole (hh) configurations within the EP+PDM, thus insisting on the importance of the underlying physics involved in this model. Utilizing the obtained NLD and RSF, we predict the 165Ho(n,γ)166Ho and Maxwellian-averaged cross sections, which exhibit remarkable agreement with all the available experimental data from the Experimental Nuclear Reaction Data and Karlsruhe Astrophysical Database of Nucleosynthesis in Stars. These results reflect the imprint of the pairing correlation on those quantities.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate specific professional competencies of teachers to implement education for sustainable development (ESD) in the contexts of Vietnam. Design/methodology/approach: The authors carried out a Delphi study with eight ESD experts in Vietnam to collect their expertise viewpoints regarding teachers' ESD professional competencies. Findings: In total, 13 competencies related to three dimensions (content knowledge/cognitive, pedagogical and pedagogical content knowledge, motivation and volition) were highlighted by ESD experts. Research limitations/implications: The proposed teachers' competencies were based on the ideas of a small group of experts, and the results need to be tested, refined and confirmed by further work. Besides, in this study, we have not defined the levels of achievement for each competency as well as developed assessment tools. Practical implications: The specific professional competencies for teachers can be considered as a foundation for developing educational offers focusing on promoting the specific teachers' professional competencies in basic ESD training. Originality/value: Studies on educators' professional competencies for ESD mostly were conducted in western countries. However, competencies do not exist independently; instead, they should be considered in specific contexts of teaching, school, culture and society. This research is among one of the first studies that contextualizes teachers' competencies in a non-western context.

PurposeThe objective of this research is to compare the efficacy of conventional and hypofractionated radiotherapy treatment plans for breast cancer patients, with a specific focus on the unique features of the Halcyon system.Methods and materialsThe study collected and analyzed dose volume histogram (DVH) data for two groups of treatment plans implemented using the Halcyon system. The first group consisted of 19 patients who received conventional fractionated (CF) treatment with a total dose of 50 Gy in 25 fractions, while the second group comprised 9 patients who received hypofractionated (HF) treatment with a total dose of 42.56 Gy in 16 fractions. The DVH data was used to calculate various parameters, including tumor control probability (TCP), normal tissue complication probability (NTCP), and equivalent uniform dose (EUD), using radiobiological models.ResultsThe results indicated that the CF plan resulted in higher TCP but lower NTCP for the lungs compared to the HF plan. The EUD for the HF plan was approximately 49 Gy (114% of its total dose) while that for the CF plan was around 53 Gy (107% of its total dose).ConclusionsThe analysis suggests that while the CF plan is better at controlling tumors, it is not as effective as the HF plan in minimizing side effects. Additionally, it is suggested that there may be an optimal configuration for the HF plan that can provide the same or higher EUD than the CF plan.

Rhizobia topic has been re-focused in recent years because of new findings on their traits not only as nitrogen-fixing bacteria but also as plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria. When combing rhizobial strains with novel biological carriers (e.g., biochar) for inoculant production, it brings great potential for improving soil health in long-term. Appreciating this trend, this study is designed to isolate and characterize local rhizobial strains from legume fields using the conventional method with some modifications to increase efficiency in rhizobial identification. As a result, 17 rhizobial strains were isolated and classified biochemically that genetic identification outcome confirmed 10 strains belong to 07 different Rhizobium species as R. mayense, R. paknamense, R. pusense, R. miluonense, R. tropici, R. phaseoli, and R. multihospitium while the rest belong to 06 various Bradyrhizobium species as B. elkanii, B. centrosematis, B. guangxiense, B. liaoningense, B. yuanmingense, and B. arachidis. Thermal and saline tolerant tests together with seed germination tests also performed on these rhizobial strains to gain data on their responses to abiotic stresses. By comparing rice and mung bean GI values, we can assess the effectiveness of each rhizobial strains to help seeds at their early germination.

Abstract This analysis explores the relationship between transformational, transactional, and laissez-faire leadership styles with staff work engagement at the department level in the public sector in Vietnam. Using a cluster sampling method, a total of 378 participants were selected and agreed to participate in a survey by completing a questionnaire on the relationship between leadership style and work engagement. All participants are attendees of a training course for department-level leaders at the School of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Administration Officers under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Vietnam. A regression was run on the collected data to test the hypothesis on the relationship between leadership styles and staff task performance. The regression results show that there is a significant indirect relationship between staff work engagement and innovative work behavior and task performance. In addition, there is a relatively positive relationship between the transformational leadership style and transactional leadership style of the department-level leaders in the Vietnamese public sector with staff work engagement, particularly innovative work behavior and task performance. On the contrary, laissez-faire leadership style negatively impacts staff work engagement and innovative work behavior. Staff work engagement is an integral part of the relationship between leadership style and leadership effectiveness. The findings suggest that the Vietnamese public sector should aim to identify transformational and transactional leaders. This research focuses on the department level and is limited to three leadership styles (transformational, transactional, and laissez-faire) only. Future research therefore can expand the scope to higher levels than the department leaders.

The reflooding phase, a crucial recovery process after a loss of coolant accident (LOCA) in reactors, involves cooling overheated fuel rods with subcooled water. Its complex nature, notably in its flow regime and heat transfer, makes prediction challenging, resulting in high uncertainty and computation cost. In this study, we utilized the data assimilation (DA) technique to enhance the prediction of reflooding phenomena and subsequently deployed machine learning models to predict the accuracy of the safety and performance analysis code (SPACE) simulation. To generate the dataset for the machine learning model, we employed the sampling method for highly nonlinear system uncertainty analysis (STARU), providing a high-quality dataset for a complex problem such as a reflooding simulation. In this dataset, the physical models were assimilated under their selected uncertainty bands and utilized the effective sampling approach of STARU, generating the high-quality output and efficient enhancement of SPACE predictions. Consequently, the implemented machine learning model can be used to enhance model development and uncertainty quantification (UQ) analysis using the system code.

There are gaps in research on the relationship between effective personality and occupational health of lecturers that need to be addressed. This study, therefore, explores the relationship between effective personality and occupational health of lecturers of provincial/city political schools in Vietnam. The survey is carried out in a convenient sampling method with 365 lecturers of provincial/city political schools in Vietnam. The questionnaires are provided to the participants of professional training courses at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. The lecturers are willing to fill in the questionnaires at the same time. Descriptive, correlative, and linear regressive analyses are applied. The findings show that all elements of the effective personality structure have positive significant statistical impacts on enhancing self-efficacy, satisfaction, and cognitive affections while negatively causing exhaustion, musculoskeletal disorders, and voice disturbance of the lecturers' occupational health. Recommendations for promoting the effective personality of lecturers are provided. However, the study results are limited to the survey participants, who are lecturers of provincial political schools. Future research could expand the survey participants as well as elements of the effective personality structure and occupational health.

The study aims to assess the impact of organizational culture on employee performance in foreign-invested logistics service enterprises from the sustainability perspective. We developed a theoretical framework on organizational culture and explored the factors shaping organizational culture, from which three research hypotheses are proposed. Based on a research sample of 162 foreign-invested logistics service enterprises, the multiple linear regression results indicate that 5 factors of organizational culture positively impact employee performance, including employees' beliefs, corporate focus of human life, leadership style and authority division, corporate values, relationship with business environment. Based on these findings, we proposed recommendations for improving employee performance in foreign-invested logistics service enterprises from a sustainability perspective. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article discusses a study conducted to assess the quality of life (QoL) of siblings of adolescents with severe haemophilia. The study found that the QoL of these siblings was not significantly different from that of the affected adolescents, and it was actually higher than that of the age- and sex-matched French general population. The study also identified several determinants of QoL, including age, gender, anxiety symptoms, coping strategies, prosocial behavior, and emotional intelligence. The findings suggest that siblings of individuals with haemophilia generally have good QoL, but there is a need to address potential psychological distress and behavioral problems. The study was conducted with the participation of various medical professionals, researchers, and representatives from the French Association for People with Hemophilia. The data used in the study was provided by the FranceCoag registry. The study was funded by grants from Bayer Consumer Care AG and the University Hospital of Marseille. Abstract Background High-resolution anorectal manometry (HRAM) has been developed to improve measurement of anorectal functions. This study aims to identify normal HRAM values in healthy young Vietnamese adults. Methods We conducted a cross-sectional study at the National Hospital of Traditional Medicine (Hanoi, Vietnam) from July through December 2014. Healthy young adults were invited to participate in the study. All anorectal measurement values were performed using the ISOLAB high-resolution manometry system. Differences between groups were analyzed using Student’s t-tests. Results Thirty healthy young adults, including 15 males and 15 females aged 19–26 years, were recruited. Mean functional anal canal length was 3.4 ± 0.5 cm (range: 2.4–4.8 mm). Mean maximum resting pressure, mean maximum squeezing pressure, mean maximum coughing pressure, and mean maximum strain pressure were 65.5, 168.0, 125.9, and 84.2 mm Hg, respectively. All anal pressure values were significantly different between males and females. For rectal sensation measurements, only the volume at first sensation was significantly higher in males than in females. Conclusions This study provides normal HRAM value for healthy young adults in Vietnam. Sex may influence anal pressure and first rectal sensation values in this cohort. Further studies should be conducted in order to improve the quality of HRAM normal values and to confirm the effects of sex.
