Abstract

REST (Representational State Transfer) APIs have become integral for data communication and exchange due to their simplicity, scalability, and compatibility with web standards. However, ensuring REST APIs' reliability through rigorous testing poses significant challenges, given the complexities of operations, parameters, inputs, dependencies, and call sequences. In this paper, we introduce MUCOREST, a novel Reinforcement Learning (RL)-based API testing approach that leverages Q-learning to maximize code coverage and output coverage, thereby improving bug discovery. By focusing on these proximate objectives rather than the abstract goal of maximizing failures, MUCOREST effectively discovers critical code areas and diverse API behaviors. The experimental results on a benchmark of 10 services show that MUCOREST significantly outperforms state-of-the-art API testing approaches by 11.6-261.1% in the number of discovered API bugs. MUCOREST can generate much fewer API calls to discover the same number of bugs compared to the other approaches. Abstract

The mobility and disorder in the lattice of Cu atoms as liquid-like behavior is an important characteristic affecting the thermoelectric properties of Cu$_{2}$S. In this study, using a theoretical model called acanthite-like structure for Cu$_{2}$S at a low-temperature range, we systematically investigate the electronic structure, intrinsic defect formation, and transport properties by first-principles calculations. Thereby, previous experimental reports on the indirect bandgap nature of Cu$_{2}$S were confirmed in this work with an energy gap of about 0.9-0.95 eV. As a result, the optical absorption coefficient estimated from this model also gives a potential value of $\alpha > 10^{4}$ cm$^{-1}$ in the visible spectrum range. According to the bonding analysis and formation energy aspect, Cu vacancy is the most preferred defect to form in Cu$_{2}$S, which primarily affects the conductive behavior as a $p$-type, as experimentally observed. Finally, the transport properties of Cu$_{2}$S system were successfully reproduced using an electron-phonon scattering method, highlighting the important role of relaxation time prediction in conductivity estimation instead of regarding it as a constant., Comment: 10 pages

Abstract

High $ZT$ value and large Seebeck coefficient have been reported in the nanostructured Fe-doped Si-Ge alloys. In this work, the large Seebeck coefficient in Fe-doped Si-Ge systems is qualitatively reproduced from the computed electronic density of states, where a hybrid functional, HSE06, is used for an exchange-correlation functional, as well as a special quasi-random structure (SQS) for a disordered atomic configuration. Abstract

Purpose. The aim of this study is to construct a typical ore model for Pb-Zn ore range in Ban Lin – Phia Dam and to compare it with the existing ones. The model is constructed based on three main elements of the mineral generation process, such as formation environment, generated-ore fluid source, and deposited-ore mechanism. The obtained results are aimed at determining and predicting the resource of sedimentary exhalative (SEDEX) Pb-Zn ore deposit in Vietnam. Methods. To comprehend the characteristics of the SEDEX Pb-Zn ore deposits in the Ban Lin – Phia Dam area, we employ a combination of approaches that include mineralography to determine the composition and tectonic structure of rocks and ore, inclusion analysis to determine the temperature and inclusion composition, Pb isotopic analysis and stable S isotopic analysis to explore the environment and sources of ore-forming materials. Findings. The sedimentary exhalative (SEDEX) Pb-Zn ore deposit arises from the dissolution of metal-rich salt deposits due to heating at shallow depths (several kilometers). Subsequently, this fluid migrates through faults and fractures to preferred locations where galena and sphalerite precipitate alongside sedimentary basin deposition. Originality. SEDEX ore deposits have been extensively studied in various regions of the world. Although there are multiple theories regarding their origin, including explosion, biological debris accumulation, and surface replacement, each model has its own distinct advantages and limitations in explaining the genesis and development of SEDEX ore deposits. Abstract

Hereditary breast cancer is an inherited genetic condition, mainly caused by BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations. These genetic changes can increase the risks of breast and ovarian cancers in women, while prostate and breast cancers in men. Especially, mutations in either BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes take important roles in early-onset breast cancer. The present study focused on a 47-year-old Vietnamese woman with breast cancer by applying targeted next-generation sequencing technique. A novel BRCA1 gene mutation, namely NM_007294.3 (BRCA1): c.4998insA (p. Tyr1666Terfs), was identified both in this patient and in some of the members in her family proved the fact that the mutated genes passed down through generations. This change may exponentially initiate breast cancer risks and become a valuable marker for exact clinical prognosis and treatment.

Herewith, we report a rare case of primary orbito-ethmoidal rhabdomyosarcoma in a 29-year-old female. The patient underwent induction chemotherapy and achieved surprising results.

Abstract

Breast cancer (BC) is the second incidence and the fifth leading cause to cancer death in the worldwide. In developing countries, the number of BC cases is still increased annually accompanied with the changes of lifestyle and screening programs. Nevertheless, the majority of BC patients are diagnosed as non-curative stage. Thereby, systemic therapy always plays an important role in BC treatment strategies. Among chemotherapy regimens, the combination of anthracyclin and taxane as an adjuvant treatment has been proven the efficacy and safety in terms of prolonging survival. In this study, we evaluated the incidence of chemotherapy-induced amenorrhea in breast cancer patients who were treated with adjuvant anthracycline and taxane-based chemotherapy.

39. Structural Stabilization and Superior Electrochemical Performance of Yttrium-Doped O3-NaFe0.4Ni0.3Mn0.3O2Cathodes for Sodium-Ion Batteries

Abstract

This is the first demonstration of successful Y3+doping, and Y3+-doped O3-NaFe0.4Ni0.3Mn0.3O2(NaFNM) cathodes exhibit superior cyclability and C-rate capabilities. Y3+doping enabled cells with 91% capacity retention at 1 C after 100 cycles and a high specific capacity of 102 mA h g–1at a 7 C rate. Furthermore, the full cell delivered outstanding cycling stability, with a capacity retention of 80% after 500 cycles at 1 C and 71.3% after 1000 cycles. Operando X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD) and X-ray absorption spectroscopy, along with simulations using density functional theory and neural network potential methods, provided comprehensive insights on the effects of Y3+doping on the cycling characteristics. Our results confirm that Y3+doping effectively stabilizes the O3 structure, enhances the electrochemical performance, and addresses the challenge of irreversible O3 to P3 phase transitions.

Abstract

The development of flexible thermoelectric devices is gradually attracting increasing attention, particularly in the field of material design. In this study, we use first-principles calculations combined with Boltzmann equations to study the electronic and transport properties of Ag2S1−xSex, a key material with many important properties and extraordinary ductility, as well as a wide range of thermoelectric applications. The effect of Se alloying on the electronic structure of Ag2S and defect formation is investigated, and the role of alloying in increasing the n-type carrier concentration is discussed. The electron–phonon coupling approximation is used to reproduce the experimentally observed transport properties reasonably well, which shows that this scattering model is suitable for predicting the transport properties of semiconductors in thermoelectric applications. Abstract

A hospital-based, case–control study was conducted to investigate the association between lifestyle patterns and risk of colorectal cancer (CRC) in the north of Vietnam. Demographic factors employed for the models were age, sex, marital status, occupation, education, income, smoking status, alcohol consumption, vegetable consumption, tea, coffee consumption, and physical activity (PA). Individuals of both groups (n = 154 for the control group and n = 136 for the CRC group) were interviewed using a questionnaire by trained interviewers. The findings showed that moderate PA was inversely associated with CRC risk: odds ratio (OR) = 0.19, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 0.10 to 0.36 with P < .01. The total PA showed that the highest tertile (>2.7 MET-h/d) was associated with the reduced risk of CRC compared with the lowest tertile one after controlling for confounding factors: adjusted OR = 0.25, 95% CI = 0.09 to 0.74, P < .01. Sedentary time was associated with an increased level of CRC risk by 57% as compared between the highest tertile and the lowest one after controlling for confounding factors. Daily consumption of vegetables and 1 to 3 cups of tea per day or more were also associated with decreased risk of CRC. Despite promising findings, a limitation of this research is that it did not establish a temporal relationship between risk factors and CRC due to its retrospective design. However, this is the first analytic study highlighting the role of the active lifestyle pattern associated with reduced CRC risk in Vietnamese adults.

Abstract

Introduction: Results of laparoscopic colectomies from developing nations are reported rarely. We report our results of laparoscopic abdominoperineal resec-tion (LAPR) for low rectal cancer at K Hospital (National Cancer Hospital of Vietnam). Materials & Methods: From January 2012 to December 2015, a to-tal of 135 patients who were diagnosed with low rectal adenocarcinoma were recruited to evaluate for LAPR surgical outcome performed at the K Hospital in Vietnam. The goal of the study was to compare post-surgical data from K Hos-pital with Western countries. Data were collected including age, gender, history of previous abdominal surgery, operative time, estimated blood loss (EBL), conversion rate, number of harvested lymph nodes, complications, time to re-turn of bowel function (TRBF), length of stay (LOS), TNM staging and overall survival. Results: There were 69 male and 66 female patients. The mean age at diagnosis was 55.3 years (range 29 - 68 years). 19 patients had previous ab-dominal surgeries. One patient had a conversion to open LAPR due to ureteral and bladder injury. The mean and standard deviation for number of harvested lymph nodes was 14.6 ± 5.3; mean operative time 133 ± 20.9 minutes and mean EBL 13.6 ± 12.2 ml. There were two cases of urinary retention that required bladder catheterization for more than 48 hours. There was no perioperative mortality. The TRBF was 33 ± 4.4 hours. Mean LOS was 7.4 ± 1.8 days. 98 patients (72.6%) had stage II and 37 patients (27.4%) had stage III disease. The overall 1-year, 2-year and 3-year survival was 95.8%, 82.1% and 73.3%, respectively. Conclusion: LAPR for low rectal cancer in K hospital is feasible and safe.
