This study aims to assess the impact of neighborhood effects (NEs) on the adoption of digital payments (DP), focusing specifically on the northern mountainous regions of Vietnam. The innovation of our research lies in integrating the UTAUT2 model with the theory of herd behavior (THB). By analyzing interview data from 427 respondents using structural equation modeling (SEM), we discovered that NEs exert both a direct negative and an indirect positive influence on the adoption of DP. However, the overall impact is significantly positive. This underscores the crucial role of information shared by relatives, friends and colleagues in promoting awareness of DP. The findings highlight the importance of neighbors in enhancing citizens’ awareness and usage of DP in their daily lives. The article also discusses implications and suggests directions for future research.

Abstract In this study, we use a time-varying parameter vector autoregression in conjunction with the extended joint connectedness approach (TVPVAR-EJC) to examine the interrelationships among five variables, namely digitalization measured by the number of individuals using the Internet (% of the population), mobile cellular subscriptions (per 100 people), human capital index, CO2 emissions, and GDP, from 1996 to 2019 in Vietnam. Net total directional connectedness of digitalization and other variables suggests that it consistently acts as a net shock transmitter, whereas human capital was found to be a net receiver of corresponding shocks from 1997 to 2019. The emission of CO2 was a net critical receiver in 1998 but remained as a net transmitter for the rest of the period. Pairwise connectedness reveals that digitalization appeared as a net shock transmitter in connection with the human capital index and GDP. In the relationship with human capital, digitalization’s role was critical.

Forest carbon markets have demonstrated numerous benefits across economic, social, and environmental dimensions, while also advancing sustainable development goals. This study examines the primary policy mechanisms and conditions related to the development of high-integrity forest carbon markets in Dak Lak province, Vietnam. Utilizing a combination of SWOT analysis and the DPSIR framework, the study provides a comprehensive evaluation of the opportunities, challenges, driving forces, pressures, potential impacts, and responses associated with developing these markets. The Gold Standard method was also employed to estimate the potential contribution to carbon emission reductions through the new forest planting programs in the province. Data analysis from 202 households and in-depth interviews with fifteen experts revealed that local residents have limited information about the forest carbon market. While forest management officials at various levels are aware of the market, there is a lack of specific guidance, limited participation in training sessions and workshops, and insufficient instructional materials. Dak Lak holds significant potential for carbon emission reductions, with an estimated average forest carbon storage capacity of 7.5 tCO2/ha/year for an afforestation/reforestation (A/R) carbon project. This initiative is projected to contribute approximately $753,972 annually to the province's GRDP and generate 280 jobs for local communities. However, the technical and financial resources are challenging in the province. The study identifies critical issues and proposes appropriate solutions to support Dak Lak in developing high-integrity forest carbon markets in alignment with the national roadmap, ultimately contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals.

In the 21st century, the working environment is changing rapidly, and competition is fierce. In industries such as airlines, it is crucial to identify the factors that drive employee performance. This study aims to determine the elements of organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs) that have an impact on work performance. A mixed research method was employed for the study, which collected survey data from 195 employees of ground service companies in Vietnam, including Saigon Ground Service Company (Sags), Vietnam Airport Ground Service Company (Viags), and Hanoi Ground Service Joint Stock Company (Hgs). The results revealed that five factors of OCBs affect job performance, ranked in descending order: (1) Voice-speaking up about concerns, (2) civic virtue, (3) conscientiousness, (4) courtesy, and (5) altruism. The study also proposed some implications for managers of ground service companies to enhance their employees’ job performance.

Abstract Background Interprofessional education (IPE) is expected to help prepare undergraduate health profession students to collaborate with other healthcare professionals in realising quality of care. Studies stress the necessity of students’ readiness for interprofessional learning (IPL) in view of designing IPE programs. The present study aims to determine students' IPL-readiness and looks at related differences in students enrolled in different programs and at different phases in their educational program. Methods A cross-sectional survey study was set up among 1139 students from six health programs at HueUMP, using the Readiness for Interprofessional Learning Scale (RIPLS). Statistical analysis was performed using Kruskal–Wallis H and Mann–Whitney U tests. Results The overall mean RIPLS score was 68.89. RIPLS scores significantly differed between programs and between phases in the educational programs. Medical students presented a lower readiness level for IPL than students from other programs. In contrast to a significant increase in RIPLS scores of students in the clinical phase in Vietnamese traditional medicine, medicine, and pharmacy, a decrease in RIPLS scores was observed in students in the clinical phase in odonto-stomatology. Conclusions The differences could be related to differences in educational programs and the study phases in a particular program. These results offer insights to direct the design and implementation of IPE in health education curricula and especially underscore the need to provide IPE throughout the curriculum.

Community-based ecotourism (CBE) has been adopted for the preservation and restoration of the ecosystem in the four local communities in Binh Son district of Quang Ngai province in Vietnam. This study investigates the causal links that exist between socioeconomic development, the protection of biodiversity, environment and natural resources, and the institutional responses necessary for successful CBE development. In order to understand the complexities of the CBE model and how the stakeholders engaged in the CBE at local communities, a mix of the Strength-Weakness-Opportunity-Threat (SWOT) analysis and Driver-Pressure-State-Impact-Response (DPSIR) framework was employed for qualitative and quantitative data analysis using key informant interviews and household surveys. The study findings include important implications for both policy and management for promoting the sustainable growth of ecotourism in the region. Regarding theoretical contribution, various challenges to sustainably developing CBE have been identified while a DPSIR conceptual framework is proposed to assist future research in CBE in this area.

Heusler alloy is a ferromagnetic alloy based on the Heusler phase. It is an intermetallic alloy between metallic and non-metallic elements that can be non-ferromagnetic and has a BCC crystal structure. This paper presents the theory of thermodynamics and elastic deformation of full-Heusler A2BC alloy with BCC structure built on the basis of statistical moment method (SMM). The paper presents numerical results for the temperature and pressure dependence of the mean nearest neighbor distance between two atoms, the density, the volume, the thermal expansion coefficient, the isotherm and adiabatic compressibilities, the isothermal elastic modulus, the heat capacities at constant volume and pressure, Young’s modulus, the bulk modulus, longitudinal and transverse wave velocities of alloys Co2TaGa and Co2VGa when using the coordination sphere method and the Mie–Lennard-Jones pair interaction potential. Some SMM calculation results agree well with available ab initio calculation results.

By identifying the connectedness of seven indicators from January 1, 2019, to June 13, 2022, we choose an extended joint connectedness approach to a vector autoregression model with time-varying parameter (TVP-VAR) to analyze interlinkages between Crypto Volatility (CV) and Energy Volatility (EV). Our findings show that the COVID-19 outbreak seems to have an impact on the dynamic connectedness of the whole system, which peaks at about 60% toward the end of 2019. According to net total directional connectedness over a quantile, throughout the 2020–2022 timeframe, natural gas and crude oil are net shock transmitters, while the CV, clean energy, solar energy, and green bonds consistently receive all other indicators. Specifically, pairwise connectedness indicates that the CV appears to be a net transmitter of shocks to all energy indicators before the COVID-19 outbreak but acts as a net receiver of shocks from clean energy, wind energy, and green bonds in late 2020. The CV mostly has spillover effects on green bonds. The primary net transmitter of shocks to the Crypto market is crude oil. Our findings are critical in helping investors and authorities design the most effective policies to lessen the vulnerabilities of these indicators and reduce the spread of risk or uncertainty.

We investigate time-varying network interlinkages between artificial intelligence development and green energy market dynamics during the War in a Pandemic. While regarding AI development, we use First Trust NASDAQ Artificial Intelligence and Robotics ETF, Global X Robotics and Artificial Intelligence and ishares Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, and the green energy market, including green bonds, clean energy, wind energy, solar energy, natural gas, and crude oil using seven Bayesian vector heterogeneous autoregression fashions. During the short, medium, and long run, this paper differentiates dynamically between network interlinkages between these markets. We found some noteworthy results in our study. We show that network interlinkages exhibit remarkable differences over time. Interlinkages between networks are increased in the short, medium, and long term due to transient events occurring in markets during the studied period. As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the long-term ties within the system are significantly impacted. Additionally, based on net directional linkages, market directional links indicate a shift in roles (from shock receiver to shock transmitter) during the epidemic and at the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Observations of short- and medium-term trends reveal that all three indexes for artificial intelligence development are shock receivers from outside, which is transmitted to the green energy sector. The results indicate that artificial intelligence development persists as shock receivers in terms of long-horizon measures but become shocking transmitters during the illness crisis of COVID-19 (from January 2019 to January 2020) and the Russia-Ukraine conflict (from early 2022).

The inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) worldwide, especially in European countries, suffered a steep fall due to the rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus. This article is the first effort to empirically investigate the nexus between digital transformation and FDI inflows, thereby finding a way to help countries overcome the current situation. Using the data of 23 European countries pre-COVID (2015–2019) and during the COVID health crisis (2020), we demonstrate a nonlinear relationship between digitalization and FDI inflows, implying that a certain extent of digital transformation could promote the inflows of FDI. Before the COVID-19 health crisis, digital business played a critical role in attracting FDI inflows. E-commercial activities also enhanced FDI flows during the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, and digital public services may be an effective tool to help countries overcome the health crisis. Furthermore, digitalization plays a critical role in promoting FDI inflows in both the short term and long term. Hence, digital transformation is an inevitable process that countries need to embrace in order to overcome the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and resolve the delay or lack of foreign investments.

This paper analyses the effect of brand image, perceived quality, perceived uniqueness on loyalty of customers in the mobile telecom industry. The data for this study were gathered through face-to-face questionnaires that were distributed to target participants, who reported their consumption experience with mobile telecom services. The survey was conducted in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city with the sampling of 453 respondents. We used the Structured Equation Model to evaluate the suitability of the framework and examine the hypotheses. The results reveal that brand equity impacts directly customer satisfaction and has indirect effect on loyalty via customer satisfaction.

This paper empirically analyses the influences of the digital transformation process in the business and public sector on natural resources rents. Our paper employs the digital businesses (e-Commerce, including the value of online selling, e-Commerce turnover, e-Commerce web sales, and e-Business, including customer relationship management (CRM) usage and cloud usage) and the digital public services (user-centricity, business mobility, and key enablers), while we deal with the total natural rents (coal rents, mineral rents, natural gas rents, and forest rents). The various econometric techniques are applied to a sample of 26 European Union countries during the 2011-2019 period. Our estimation results demonstrate that both digital businesses and digital public services lead to a rise in total natural rents. More specifically, the digital businesses appear to have increased influences on coal rents, and gas rents, while the digital public services drive mineral rents, gas rents, and forest rents up. Conversely, digital public services tend to reduce coal rents and digital businesses lead to a decrease in mineral rents and forest rents. Notably, the economic complexity or the quality and diversification of the production system is the key variable for the digital economy aiming at shirking natural rent-seeking. The findings are consistent when we consider the specific type of natural resource rent regardless of whether they are affected differently by digital transformation.

We employ a time-varying parameter vector autoregression (TVP-VAR) combined with an extended joint connectedness approach to study interlinkages between renewable and nonrenewable energy consumption, economic growth, and CO2 emission by characterizing connectedness of four markets starting from 1985 to 2019. Our results demonstrate that the financial crisis appears to have influences on the system-wide dynamic connectedness, which reaches a peak during 1989. The total directional connectedness suggests that nonrenewable and renewable sources of energy consumption tend to be net recipients of spillover shocks. Throughout the studied period, growth in the economy and CO2 emissions seem to be influential net shock transmitters. Pairwise connectedness reveals that nonrenewable consumption primarily receives spillover effects of economic and environmental shocks. Since the crisis, CO2 emission has been a net receiver of shocks from other variables.

Ni50−xCoxMn50−yAly (x = 7 and 9; y = 17, 18 and 19) alloy ribbons were prepared by melt-spinning with a tangential velocity of copper wheel of 40 m s−1. X-ray diffraction patterns reveal multi-crystalline phase behavior in the fabricated ribbons. The shape of thermomagnetization curves clearly depends on Co and Al concentrations. The Curie temperatures (TC) of the alloy ribbons strongly increase with increasing the Co concentration and slightly decrease with increasing the Al concentration. The martensitic-austenitic phase transition in the alloy ribbons can be manipulated by tuning Co and Al concentrations. The maximum magnetic entropy change |ΔSm|max of about 0.75 J kg−1 K−1 for a field change of 12 kOe at TC ≈ 364 K was achieved for the Ni43Co7Mn32Al18 ribbon. Critical analysis using the Arrott-Noaks and Kouvel–Fisher methods demonstrates the existence of a long-range ferromagnetic order in this ribbon.

Background Digital payment systems are pivotal in the digital economy, relying on the interplay between internet technology and e-vendors. This study seeks to explore acceptance behaviors regarding digital payments by employing an extended version of the Trust and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and incorporating the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Methods We conducted a qualitative analysis using interview data from 509 respondents and applied Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to evaluate the relationships between key variables. The extended model allows for a comprehensive examination of both technological and trust-related factors influencing adoption. Results Our analysis revealed that all standardized path coefficients were positively significant, except for the path from perceived usefulness (PU) to attitude (ATT). The findings confirm that while digital payments are primarily driven by Internet and communication technologies, addressing trust-related issues is essential for enhancing user adoption. The TAM identifies perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, alongside trust, as critical factors affecting behavioral intention. In the TPB framework, trust significantly impacts digital payment adoption through mediators such as attitude, perceived behavioral control, and subjective norm. Conclusions This study enhances our understanding of the factors influencing digital payment adoption, emphasizing the need to address both technological and trust issues. The insights gained provide valuable recommendations for increasing the use of digital payment systems, particularly in the Northern mountainous regions of Vietnam, thereby fostering greater financial inclusion and economic growth.

Purpose: This study addresses the empirical results of the spillover effect with export as the primary economic activity that enhances local businesses' total factor productivity (TFP). A learning mechanism is expected to be generated and used as the basis for the policy implication. Design/methodology/approach: This study adopted the Cobb–Douglas function and multiple estimation approaches, including the generalized method of moments, the Olley–Pakes and the Levinsohn–Petrin estimation techniques. The findings were estimated based on the panel data of a Vietnamese local businesses survey conducted by the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO) from 2010 to 2019. Findings: The results showed that the highest TFP belongs to the businesses in the Southeast region, the Mekong Delta region, the mining industry and the foreign-invested enterprises. The lowest impacted TFP are businesses in the Northwest region and agricultural, forestry and fishery sectors. In addition, the estimated results also show that the positive spillover effect on TFP is shown through forward and backward linkage. The negative spillover effect is expressed through the backward and horizontal channels. Research limitations/implications: This study offers original empirical evidence on the learning mechanisms via which exports contribute to productivity improvement in a developing Asian economy, so making a valuable contribution to the existing academic literature in this domain. The findings of this research make a valuable contribution to the advancement of understanding on the many ways via which spillover effects manifest such as horizontal, forward, backward and supplied-backward linkage. Practical implications: The study's findings indicate that it is advisable for governments to give priority to the development and improvement of forward and supply chain linkages between exporters and local suppliers. This approach is recommended in order to optimize the advantages derived from export spillovers. At the organizational level, it is imperative for enterprises to strengthen their technological and managerial skills in order to efficiently incorporate knowledge spillovers that originate from overseas partners and trade counterparts. Originality/value: This study sheds new evidence on the export spillover effect on productivity in emerging economies, with Vietnam as the case study. The paper contributes to the research's originality by adopting novel methodological aspects to estimate local businesses' impact on total factor productivity.
