Research has been conducted on cyano-bridged Fe(III)-Ni(II) complexes. The synthesis and characterization of these complexes carried out structurally and magnetically are described.

Correlation between 1H and 2H NMR contact of radical nickel(II) complexes and the exchange coupling constant J has been studied. The analysis was carried out to derive a new method for determining the J value from the NMR spectra. Results show that the C-H contact shifts of the radical complexes result from the antiferromagnetic interaction between nickel(II) ion and NIT2-py radical. Two C-D NMR contact shifts could be distinguished from the NIT2-py SOMO.

Research has been conducted on nickel complexes of o-amidochalcogenophenolate(2-)/o-iminochalcogenobenzosemiquinolate(1-). The authors describe the preparation of these complexes via the oxidative addition of 2-aminophenyl dichalcogenides to anionic [Ni(CO)(SePh) (sub)3] (super)- complexes.

Research has been conducted on 2-aminoindane-2-carboxylic acid. The authors describe the method developed for the preparation of this acid via the use of alkylation of Ni(II)-complex of glycine Schiff base with 2-[N-(alpha-picolyl)amino]benzophenone with o-dibromoxylylene.

Research has been conducted on compounds with extended metal chains of nickel atoms. The authors describe these compounds which are wrapped by di(2-pyridyl)amide or the homologous ligand with the ethyl group at the para position of the pyridyl groups.

Research has been conducted on nickel(II) tetraazaannulene complexes. The authors have measured the IR and resonance Raman spectra of these complexes, have compared these spectra with ab initio calculations of the vibrational wavenumbers, and have discovered an excellent fit between the calculated and experimental data.

Research has been conducted on pentanuclear cyanide-bridged compounds. The authors describe the synthesis, structures and magnetic properties of these compounds, and report that they have not discovered any evidence for long-range magnetic ordering for the trigonal bipyriamidal and the extended square molecules' crystalline samples.

Research has ben conducted on dioxocyclams with quinoxaline moieties. The authors describe the sytnehsis of these compounds as well as their nickel(II) complexes, and have investigated their ability to oxidatively cleave and bind DNA.

Research has been conducted on two-dimwnsional cyanide-bridged iron-nickel cyanide square grid networks. The authors describe the assembly of these networks at the air-water interface and their transfer as isolated monolayer, bilayer and multiple bilayer films via the use of Langmuir-Blodgett techniques.

Research has been conducted on organic-inorganic hybrid 3D networks of nickel(II) and manganese(II). The authors decsribe the synthesis and characterization of these networks carried out via the use of single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies and loe-temperature magnetic measurements.

Research has been conducted on nickel(II)/uranium(IV) fluorides. The preparation of these fluorides in aqueous media under mild hydrothermal conditions is described.

Research has been conducted on threefold parallel interwoven nets. The authors report that these nets have been assembled from nickel(II) cyclam complex and 1,3,5-tris[2-(4-carboxyphenyl)-1-ethynyl]benzene.

Research has been conducted on Ni (super)+ four-coordinate complex. Results demonstrate that this complex serves as a Ni-CO reaction intermediate in the acetyl-CoA synthase catalytic cycle.

The synthesis and physical properties of two series of mixed-ligand NIT2-py nickel(II) complexes of (Ni(beta-diketonato)2(NIT2-py)) and (Ni-(beta-diketonato)(tmen)(NIT2-py))(super +) with various types of beta-diketonates have been studied. The magnetic behavior and electronic absorption spectra of the complexes were examined in relation to the coligand effect. Results show significant relation between the intensities of the formally spin-forbidden bands and those of the new metal-ligand charge-transfer elements based on the observed magnetic coupling.
