Abstract

Received: 02.06.2018. Accepted: 19.07.2018. Published: 30.07.2018. Samples of La0.95Bi0.05Mn1–yCuyO3+δ (у = 0.1 – 0.4) were prepared by solid-state synthesis. Additionally, the sample with nominal composition La0.95Bi0.05Mn0.7Cu0.3O3+δ was obtained using citrate-nitrate method. It was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis that the compounds have rhombohedral (space group R3C) or orthorhombic (space group Pbnm) structure, depending on the composition. Single-phase compounds are synthesized at у = 0.1; 0.2. The investigation using scanning electron microscope showed that the grain sizes for the samples sintered using different techniques are close to each other because of the high calcination temperature. For the sample with orthorhombic structure the phase transition into rhombohedral one was found around 390 °С by means of dilatometry. Thermal expansion coefficient of the sample La0.95Bi0.05Mn0.7Cu0.3O3+δ is equal to 6·10–6 K–1 (T < 390 °C) and 15·10–6 K–1 (T > 390 °C). The composite materials of substituted lanthanum manganites with Bi4V1.7Fe0.3O11–δ and Bi7Nb1.8Zr0.2O15.5–δ solid electrolytes were obtained at 650 °C. The electrical conductivity values for the latter one are by three orders of magnitude higher than for pure bismuth niobate. Abstract

Polycrystalline samples with general formula Bi 3-x M x NbO 7-δ (M = Ba, Ca, Mg, or Sr; x = 0, 0.1) were obtained by solid state method. Single phase compounds are niobates doped by strontium and calcium. A major phase has a tetragonal structure (space group I-4m2) after annealing at 850 ∘ C, which completely transfers into a cubic one (space group Fm3m) after 1000 ∘ C. Dense sintered ceramics were prepared with thermal expansive coefficient equal to 10 × 10 -6 ∘ C -1 . The electroconductivity values of the pure bismuth niobate with a tetragonal structure are higher than those of the one with a cubic structure. Abstract

Single phase samples of bismuth molybdate, Bi26Mo10O69, doped with Mn on the bismuth sublattice and V, Fe on the molybdenum sublattice were found to crystallize in the triclinic Bi26Mo10O69 structure at low doping levels and in the monoclinic Bi26Mo10O69 structure - at higher dopant concentration. The assumption that all Mn ions have an oxidation state of +2 was confirmed by means of magnetic measurement results analysis using Curie-Weiss law. Conductivity was investigated using impedance spectroscopy. The conductivity of Bi26.4Mn0.6Mo9.6Fe0.4O69-d was 1.2*10-2 S*cm-1 at 973 K and 2.2*10-4 S*cm-1 at 623 K, and the conductivity of Bi26.4Mn0.6Mo9.2V0.8O69-d was 2.2*10-3 S*cm-1 at 973 K and 2.2*10-5 S*cm-1 at 623 K. more...

Abstract

The solid solution La0.9Sr0.05Bi0.05Mn1 – yNiyO3 (y = 0.0–1.0) was obtained for the first time using the solid-phase method and studied. It has been found that the solid solution (y = 0.1–0.3) with a rhombo-hedral structure (space group R3̅c) can exist at temperatures higher that 493 K. At room temperature, only La0.9Sr0.05Bi0.05MnO3 is a single phase. The studied complex oxides are chemically inert with respect to a bismuth-containing electrolyte based on Bi3Nb1 – yEryO7 – δup to 973 K. The use of composite electrode materials La0.9Sr0.05Bi0.05Mn0.7Ni0.3O3: Bi3Nb0.6Er0.4O7 – δ(1: 1 wt %) leads to an increase in the values of electroconductivity of an electrochemical cell containing the solid electrolyte based on bismuth niobate in comparison with the La0.9Sr0.05Bi0.05Mn0.7Ni0.3O3 electrodes. Abstract

The results of structural and electrophysical characterization of substituted bismuth niobates Bi3Nb1 – xErxO7 – δbscript> , promising oxygen-ion conductors, are presented. The homogeneity extents were determined and crystallochemical parameters of solid solutions were calculated using X-ray powder diffraction and electron microscopy with energy-dispersive microanalysis (SEM-EDX). The stability of the solid solutions and the occurrence of phase transitions in them were determined by differential scanning calorimetry and dilatometry. Abstract

The electrical properties of dual-phase fluorite-pervoskite oxide systems based on strontium titanate- ferrite (SrTi0.5Fe0.5O3-δ) are studied. We find that the oxygen ionic and ambipolar conductivities of strontium titanate-ferrite can be considerably improved by introducing the fluorite phase Ce0.8(Sm0.8Sr0.2)0.2O2-δ. This is advantageous considering the prospects of applying these types of composite materials in different electrochemical devices, e.g., as membrane materials in electrochemical converters for the production of hydrogen and syngas and anode materials in solid oxide fuel cells. Abstract

Ba7Li1.75Mn3.5O15.75 is a new hexagonal perovskite whose crystal structure has elements typical for the layered hexagonal perovskites and quasi-one-dimensional oxides, hence representing a new polytype. It has been synthesized via a solid-state microwave route. The crystal structure was solved using a combination of X-ray and neutron diffraction data, which show that Ba7Li1.75Mn3.5O15.75 crystallizes in a hexagonal unit cell with parameters a = 5.66274(2) Å and c = 16.7467(1) Å (V = 465.063(4) Å3), with one formula unit, and can be described as columns of face-shared octahedra occupied by Mn4+ and Li+ cations and vacancies along the c axis separated in the ab plane by barium atoms. Every sixth layer, the coordination of Mn5+ and Li+ changes to tetrahedral. Additional local ordering of manganese and lithium atoms among cationic sites leading to the formation of a rhombohedral supercell has been observed by scanning transmission electron microscopy. Quasi-elastic scattering with central dipion cluster production is studied in p+p andK+p interactions at 250 GeV/c. The cross section of double pomeron exchange is obtained as sDPE(p+p ?p+(p+p-)p)=24 ±5 µb and sDPE(K+p?K+(p+p-)p)=19 ±5 µb.
