Organizer: Research and Development Directorate, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Chofu Aerospace Center, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)(CAC)), Chofu, Tokyo, Japan, 本発表では、日本の固体ロケットモータの固体推進薬の開発経緯と、軌道投入段に使用する固体ロケットモータからのスラグ低減に向けた活動方針を示す。ESA のデブリ環境モデル（MASTER）によれば、LEO における直径0.1mm～1mm のデブリの中で大きな割合を占めるのは固体ロケットモータからから発生するスラグであるとされており、LEO 衛星への衝突危険性が指摘されている。また、2019 年にISO-24113（Space system -Space debris mitigation requirements）が改訂され、固体ロケットモータの1mm 以上のスラグ排出制限範囲が従来のGEO からLEO and GEO protected region に拡大された。このような背景から、軌道投入段に用いる固体ロケットモータについては、排出スラグの排除・低減が求められている。一方で、日本の固体ロケットモータは、JAXA/ISAS Mu rocket 開発の頃から継続的に残留推力の低減・性能向上を目的とした固体推進薬の改質に取り組んできている。この活動はアルミ粒子の燃焼性向上を目指す活動と同義であり、結果としてスラグ発生抑制に寄与する内容である。これらは、実機サイズの地上燃焼試験におけるスラグ回収量等から示されている。このため、国内固体ロケットモータから排出されるスラグは他例と比較してもごく少量である。しかし、排出されるスラグの物性に関する研究は少なく、国内固体ロケットモータがISO 規格である1mm に対して適合しているか、不明である。このため、JAXA を中心に、スラグの性状把握、排出低減に向けた活動を計画している。, According to the ESA's MASTER model, a large proportion of debris with a diameter of 0.1 to 1 mm is slag generated from solid rocket motors and poses the risk of collision with LEO satellites. Furthermore, ISO-24113 was revised in 2019, and the range of slag emission limits for solid rocket motors larger than 1 mm was expanded from GEO to LEO and the GEO protected region. Against this background, slag emissions for solid rocket motors must be eliminated or reduced, especially in the orbital stage. Latest solid rocket motor in Japan has much less slag compared with past studies in NASA. This is shown by the amount of slag collected in the static firing test of Epsilon's upper-stage motors. However, limited research has been conducted on the physical properties of the discharged slag, and whether domestic solid rocket motors comply with the ISO standard of 1 mm remains unclear. Organizer: Research and Development Directorate, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), Chofu Aerospace Center, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)(CAC)), Chofu, Tokyo, Japan, 衝突や爆発によって発生する破片を表す破砕モデルのうち，本研究では人工衛星が爆発破砕した場合を対象とした爆発破砕モデルについて検討を行っている．簡易的な真空容器中にて模擬衛星を用いた爆発破砕実験を行い，破砕後の破片回収ならびに高速度撮影結果より，破片寸法，飛散速度を計測し，爆発破砕モデルを検討する．爆発源としてはエネルギー推測が可能なPETN 爆薬を用いている．今回の講演では，爆発源の設置位置を模擬衛星の内部と外部に変化させた結果を比較し，爆発源の位置による破壊様相ならびに爆発破砕モデルへの影響を検討し，同一エネルギーでも爆発源の位置により異なった結果が得られたことを報告する．また，爆発破砕した事例であるEkran2 およびその破片の状況について検討し，爆発源が外部にあると考えた方が実情に合致する可能性について報告する．, The Breakup model includes cases for collisions and explosions, and this study examines the breakup model for satellite explosions. Explosive fragmentation experiments were conducted using a mock-up satellite in a simple vacuum vessel. Then, the fragment size and typical velocity are measured using the high-speed photographing results and recovered fragments after the experiment, and an explosion breakup model is examined. A PETN explosive have predictable explosive energy is used as the explosion source. In this presentation, comparison of the results obtained by changing the location of the explosion source inside and outside the mock-up satellite. Then, the effect of the location of the explosion source on the broken condition and the breakup model is examined. And It is reported that different results were obtained depending on the location of the explosion source. In addition, situation of Ekran2 and its fragments was examined as a case of breakup. Chofu Aerospace Center, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)(CAC), Online meeting), Chofu, Tokyo, Japan, JAXA は1996 年に最初のスペースデブリ発生防止標準を制定して以降、最新の情報を踏まえて適宜標準の改定を進めている。ISO 24113 スペースデブリ低減要求が出来て以降は、24113 の改定に合わせてJAXA標準であるJMR-003 の改定も実施している。2019 年にISO 24113 が第3 版となった。これは近年の軌道環境悪化を反映した新しい規制を含んでおり、これらの新しい要素をJMR-003 に取り込んで改定する検討を実施した。新しいJMR-003 には、宇宙機・ロケット軌道投入段の運用終了後の廃棄成功確率0.9 以上の達成、デブリ・メテオロイドの衝突確率の評価、ロケット関連規制の強化等の種々の要求を含んでいる。本講演では、JMR-003 に新たに加えられた規制の概要について紹介する。, JAXA has been working on the mitigation of space debris since 1990s, and since the first space debris mitigation standard was established in 1996, the standard has been revised appropriately based on the latest study. After the ISO 24113 space debris mitigation requirement was published, the JAXA space debris mitigation standard JMR- 003 has been revised in line with the revision of ISO 24113. In 2019 the third revision of ISO 24113 was published. This includes new regulations reflecting the deterioration of the orbit environment in recent years, and a study was conducted to incorporate these new regulations into JMR-003 and revise them. The new JMR- 003 includes various requirements such as achievement of a probability of successful disposal of 0.9 or more after completion of operation of the spacecraft or launch vehicle orbital stage, evaluation of debris/meteoroid collision probability, and strengthening of launch vehicle-related regulations. Whippleが提案したアイデアを物理的に精査しメカニズムを明らかにすることによって、その防護システムの有効性を確認したものである。筆者らは、JAXA宇宙機設計標準推進委員会デブリ防護設計WGの活動の一環として、「スペースデブリ防護設計マニュアル」の作成を行っているが、その過程で、衛星設計に資するため、実験によるのではなく、数値解析によって貫通限界式の検討を行っている。また、バンパーの他に、電力ケーブルやハニカムパネルに対する検討も実施している。, In 1991, K. Hayashida et al. at MSFC/NASA published a report reviewing the ballistic limit equations (BLE's) for the "Double-Plate", so-called Whipple bumper shield, which was investigated as a protection technology for the space vehicle from interplanetary meteoroid impacts mainly for the purpose of the Apollo program in 1960's. The report also reviews the modified equations applicable for the space debris impact, after the space debris problem emerged in 1970's. The BLE's referred to in the report were derived on the basis of vast amounts of hypervelocity impact tests using launchers like two-stage light gas gun, it was confirmed and proven that the Whipple bumper shield is indeed effective for the meteoroid protection by investigating and clarifying the mechanism of it, of which idea was proposed by F. L. Whipple in 1947. Electrostatic discharge tests were performed on large solar array panels under the simulated plasma environments of a geostationary orbit and a low Earth orbit to investigate the propagation length and velocity of flashover plasma. To investigate the propagation length, the neutralized current on the strings was also examined. The neutralized charge value due to flashover plasma was found to decrease with distance. Propagation length was limited under both the geostationary orbit environment and the low-Earth-orbit environment. Visual investigation of the velocity of flashover plasma clarified that velocity decreases with time. The initial velocity of flashover plasma measured was several tens of km/s, regardless of orbital environment conditions.

第5回宇宙環境シンポジウム(2008年12月18日-12月19日. つくば国際会議場）, 近年、静止軌道衛星に搭載される太陽電池パドルは大電力化・高電圧化が進んでいるが、これに伴い、軌道上における放電発生の危険性が高まり、放電による短絡事故などの不具合が相次いでいる。これらの事故を未然に防ぐため、打ち上げ前に十分に太陽電池パドルの帯電放電試験を実施する必要があるが、これらの試験は現在、室温下で行われており、実宇宙環境の日照日陰による温度環境を模擬している例は数少ない。特に低温環境では、太陽電池パネルからの脱離ガスの減少、カバーガラスの抵抗率増加などにより放電頻度や放電閾値が変化することが考えられ、帯電放電現象に大きな影響が出る可能性がある。本論では、低温および室温で太陽電池クーポンパネルの帯電放電試験を実施し、放電頻度を比較した。試験の結果、放電頻度は低温の方が室温よりも高い傾向が認められたが、放電頻度は太陽電池クーポンパネルの水分吸着量にも異存するため、純粋に温度変化による放電頻度の変化を調べるためには水分吸着量の影響を除去する必要があることがわかった。, 形態: カラー図版あり, 資料番号: AA0064382009, レポート番号: JAXA-SP-08-018

Preliminary ESD (ElectroStatic Discharge) ground tests with two meter-class solar panels were conducted in a simulated GEO (Geostationary Earth Orbit) environment. The results indicated that the plasma propagation velocity was approximately 10(exp 4) m/s, and the plasma propagation length was greater than 2.8 m. Recently, the satellite plays many roles depending on the purpose, including communication, weather observation, astronomy observation and space development. The satellite is requisitioned long life and high reliability in such situation. However, around an altitude of several 100 km, there is Atomic Oxygen (AO) which is a main ingredient agents. AO has high reactivity and its density is about 10(exp 15) atoms/cu m. Because the satellite collides with AO, surface materials of the satellite are deteriorated. As a result, it leads unevenness and oxidation. Accordingly, it is necessary to monitor the surface condition. In this study, photoemission characteristics of several materials, such as metals, glasses and polymers are measured by use of the deuterium lamp and the band path filters. From the measurement the threshold energy for photoemission and the quantum efficiency was evaluated. As a result, the thresholds of samples are 4.9 to 5.7 eV. The quantum efficiency of metals is about 100 times higher than other samples. The quantum efficiency of PS (PolyStyrene) which includes benzene ring is several times higher compared with PP (PolyPropylene) and PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene).
