Current study investigates transesterification and regulation of lipid metabolism activity of minor millet malt using Bombyx mori as model organism. Minor millet malt extracts were examined for transesterification reaction on sunflower oil through gas chromatographic analysis. In-vivo lipid regulation was investigated on silkworm larvae and in-vitro biochemical assays were carried out to evaluate lipid levels using spectophotometric techniques. Little millet treated oil showed decreased retention time with 1.69 min and highest retention time was observed in oil treated with kodo millet and foxtail millet with 1.96 min. In the current study, silk worm larvae were fed with mulberry leaves dipped with millet malt extract in order to examine their morphological, body weight and biochemical changes. Silk worm larvae fed with little millet showed overall best results exhibiting lesser increase in the body weight gain by 0.9±0.16gms during the course of treatment. Biochemical examination of little millet treated silkworm larvae showed significantly lower triglyceride levels (24.67±2.3mg/dl), VLDL (4.93±0.4mg/dl) and glucose (74.67mg/dl). Therefore, minor millet malt extracts can be potential agents for further exploration of its lipolytic properties in mammals in order to understand the mechanism of lipid regulating activity by minor millets.

Cosmetics are the products that are used to apply to our skin, face and hair every day and its uses are increasing around the world. The substance which are used to improve the appearance are comes under the category of cosmetics. In day-to-day life people are exposed to a great range of harmful chemicals in the form of cosmetics, from the various daily used products like dermal products, beauty products and hair products. These products are used to enhance the appearance or to maintain personal hygiene. Cosmetic products may contain various ingredients. Such substances improve the quality and shelf life of the products but may be toxic to human health. This review paper discusses the composition of various cosmetic products, their role, adverse effects and also highlights about the replacements of some of the harmful ingredients caused by cosmetic products based on the various scientific literature review.

Introduction Acute appendicitis is a frequent illness that manifests as an emergency and most of the cases necessitate surgical intervention. One of the most critical processes in a laparoscopic appendicectomy is the closure of the appendicular stump. For the closure of the stump of the appendix, several approaches have been employed and explored, but the one with the best outcomes has yet to be proved. Purpose To evaluate the correlation of intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) data in surgery for tethered cord syndrome (TCS) in children to the neurological outcome at 1-year follow-up. Methods 208 consecutive patients operated on for TCS, between January 2011 to February 2020, under electrophysiological monitoring in the Division of Paediatric Neurosurgery, AIMS, Kochi, India, were included. Their preoperative neurological, urological and orthopaedic status were compared with the postoperative status at 1 year follow-up. Results Our study prospectively collected the IONM data and retrospectively correlated it to the children's neurological outcome on follow-up. Out of 208 children, 28% (n = 59/208) had motor, 35% (n = 73/208) had bladder and 26% (n = 54/208) had bowel disturbances. Postsurgery, at one-year follow-up, 91% (n = 52/57) of the patients who had motor deficits had improvement, 82.3% (n = 51/62) of patients who had bladder deficits showed an improvement, and 88.8% (n = 48/54) with bowel deficits showed improvement. The monitorability for motor and sphincter potentials were 99.4% and 89.3%, respectively. Except for four patients (3 with bladder and 1 with motor worsening), all the patients who were monitorable with no deficits remained intact except for four patients, all the patients who had deficits and were monitorable improved after detethering (at 1 year). Clinical worsening corresponded to those who had a drop in amplitude of baseline TcMEP (n = 4). 18 events showed an increase in amplitude compared to the baseline TcMEP. These patients improved clinically on follow-up (at 1 year). Conclusions IONM complements the preoperative clinical details in predicting immediate and long-term outcomes.

Purified and processed glycerol has found many direct applications in pharmaceuticals, food, etc. However, the cost of processing and market value of processed glycerol has driven the research of direct utilization of crude glycerol to industrially essential chemicals. Various methods and research have been devoted to using glycerol to produce value-added products separately. Glycerol can undergo several transformation reactions like hydrogenation, oxidation, alcoholysis, and etherification. Etherification of glycerol can be divided into three main reactions: self-etherification, using alcohol, and olefins and these products have vast applications such as fuel additives, plasticizer, etc. The current review presents a comprehensive summary of glycerol etherification to value-added products and their applications. The catalytic system developed along with reaction conditions and the factors responsible for the better activity is also discussed. Overall, the review presents a detailed discussion on the catalytic system developed, the utilization of different alcohols and olefins, and the application of products. Moreover, the environmental and economic aspects of the etherification of glycerol via various conversion routes while assessing the process parameters needs to be tackled to attain wider adoption of the process.

In this paper, PCM is verified in the Cadence tool and simulated images are shown.

Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is underutilised across the world and India. The use of simple algorithms is one way to facilitate CR, however, these algorithms need to be feasible to use across low resource settings. The objectives were to assess the feasibility of a CR algorithm following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for acute coronary syndrome (ACS). A single group, pre-post study on 50 participants undergoing PCI for ACS found significant improvement in various feasibility metrics at discharge and 30-days, with no major adverse events. The proposed CR algorithm was safe and feasible for low and moderate risk patients with ACS undergoing PCI.

Vaccinations against COVID-19 are frequently given intramuscularly to the arm. After receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, axillary lymphadenopathy has been documented as an adverse reaction. The occurrence of ipsilateral (or contralateral) lymphadenopathy in individuals with breast cancer who got the COVID-19 immunization creates a diagnostic conundrum. This systematic study aims to assess the prevalence and clinical features of vaccine associated hypermetabolic axillary lymphadenopathy (VAHL) after COVID-19 vaccination. The PRISMA protocol was followed in conducting the systematic review. "Vaccine" or "vaccination" and "lymphadenopathy" or "lymph node" and "COVID-19" were the search phrases used. Using the predefined keywords from the systematic review procedure, 33 papers or reports were found. After irrelevant materials (such as regulations, reviews, opinions, and critiques) were eliminated, ten articles or reports were included in the evaluation. After receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, 91/22,532 cases (0.4% of cases overall) of clinically detectable lymphadenopathy were found. The axillary lymphadenopathy linked with the vaccination had a mean size of 18.2 mm (range 16–21 mm). The median time between receiving a vaccine and developing axillary lymphadenopathy was 6.9 days (range 2–18 days). 119-patient research found that enlarged axillary lymphadenopathy clears up in 4 to 5 weeks. Axillary lymphadenopathy linked to vaccines is relatively prevalent. Its management is based on a multidisciplinary assessment considering the patient's demographics, immunization history, and radiological findings. Additional imaging and biopsies can increase the demand for healthcare services. Proper timing and lateral arrangement of immunization and imaging should be encouraged to prevent ambiguity and patient concern.

Blind people faces lot of difficulties in day to day life. While walking they may struggle during their pathway. Some of the blinds they may use the external things to guide their path. When they were in indoor systems they may not aware of certain places inside their home. They prefer the help of another people to guide their way, instead there is an Li-Fi technology used only for indoor navigation purpose. By using of transmitter and receiver systems it allows them to guide in a proper path. Using voice recognition, the system helps to move from one places to another places inside the home. This project works only through the visible light as a source for communication. So by using this project we trained those blind people to navigate their path in an proper way.
