Masonry material characteristics, such as compressive strength, and the relationship between brick, mortar, and masonry compressive strengths are required for the analysis and assessment of masonry structures. This paper aimed to investigate the compressive strength relationship of Cambodian masonry. A total number of 42 prisms were constructed in the laboratory using six different brick/mortar combinations. Two brick types, solid and hollow, and three—1:3, 1:4, and 1:6—cement–sand mortar combinations were used. The effects of brick and mortar strengths were analysed. Using regression analysis, a simple empirical relationship was derived for masonry compressive strength as a function of brick and mortar strength in the Cambodian context.

The number of elderly population in Malaysia of aged 60 years and above is expected to increase every year. Apart from that, the life expectancy of the elderly population is also estimated to rise up with female tend to live longer than male. These uncontrollable factors can lead to a declining healthy lifestyle if the current health care system is inadequate and inappropriate in providing services to the elderly population especially to those that require rehabilitation program to return to their premorbid function. In some cases, these frail elderly were sent to Elderly Care Centre by their primary care taker due to limited nursing ability, time and space. In this pilot study, handgrip strength among elderly and pre-elderly community residing at an Elderly Care Center in Branang, Malaysia is measured using a cross-sectional study design. In overall, 12 male occupants (8 elderly, 4 pre-elderly people) aged 50 years and above were interviewed to obtain data on their sociodemographic characteristics, medical history, hand functionality and hand strength measurements. The overall sample mean (standard deviation) age are 63 (8) years. The mean (standard deviation) of handgrip measurements is 12.47 (6.69) kg.

They were once called the baby boomers, born between 1946 to 1964, but now aged above 50 years old, they contribute to the increasing number of elderly population in Malaysia. Age classification for elderly people varies between countries but commonly pre-elderly people is defined as those aged between 50 to 64 years old while those aged more than 64 years old fall in elderly category. In Malaysia, it is projected that the elderly population will make up for 10\% of the total population or 3.4 million by year 2020. Without effective and comprehensive healthcare system, the healthy lifestyle of this elderly population can be affected thus prohibiting them to return to their premorbid function. In this study, the health status of pre-elderly and elderly community residing at an Elderly Care Center in Selangor, Malaysia is assessed. In overall, 12 male occupants (4 elderly and 8 pre-elderly people) aged 50 years and above were interviewed to obtain data on their sociodemographic characteristics, medical history, hand functionality and hand strength measurements. The overall sample mean (standard deviation) age are 63 (8) years. The mean (standard deviation) for BMI is 20.26 (2.73) kg/m2 that falls in the normal category despite the visible nutritional deficiencies sign and symptoms on their physical body and facial. The mean (standard deviation) of handgrip measurements is 12.47 (6.69) kg, which is quite low but reasonable due to ageing factor.

Nowadays, youths underuse their time, energy and creativity in a vast number of other activities, which lead to almost nothing in return. Thus, to fully utilise their huge potential of skills and abilities is by offering productive ways to attract young people in educational-related activities. This paper is presenting the community project on the network wiring system workshop that has been conducted for the young generation at Kg. Serting Ulu, Simpang Pertang Jempol, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. The aim of participating in this project is to deliver the knowledge base and develop skills in technology and engineering. In addition, it is also intended to develop interpersonal skills, communication and lifelong learning as well as to increase the ability of a young generation to generate a side income by venturing into entrepreneurship field. Participants in this network system wiring workshop were exposed to a multitude of basic installation and wiring techniques in which they were able to shape their personalities with the advantage of acquired technology and engineering skills. As a result, the return on investment (RoI) and social return on investment (SRoI) targets for the workshop can be achieved. It was conducted at a rural area named as Kampung Serting Ulu, Simpang Pertang Jempol, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.

Youth is known as an energetic people with a high potential, and eager to try something new. Therefore, it is such a loss if the abilities that they have been wasted and not fully utilised in a proper way. Project of the electrical wiring workshop is one of the great initiatives as it provides a knowledge base and develops skills in technology and engineering especially in a rural area. In addition, the workshop also aims to develop interpersonal, communication and lifelong learning skills. The ability of youth also increases in generating side income and entrepreneurship nowadays. Through involvement, participants in the wiring workshop have been exposed with a variety of basic installation and wiring techniques whereby they are able to shape their personalities with the advantage of skills in technology and engineering acquired. As a result, return on investment (RoI) can be achieved in the workshop which being conducted at Kampung Pasir Puteh, Kalumpang Hulu Selangor, Malaysia.
