This paper novel multi-criteria designing framework of a grid-connected hybrid photovoltaic (PV)/wind turbine (WT) sustainable and clean energy system with battery (BA) storage (HPV/WT/BA) considering cost, reliability and emission costs are presented dependent on actual irradiance and wind speed patterns to include an annual load. The designing objective is optimal sizing of the HPV/WT/BA system to minimize the total net present cost (TNPC) as well as the loss of load and CO2 emission cost with satisfying reliability constraint as energy not supplied probability (ENSP) considering stand-alone and grid-connected modes. The results showed that purchasing the power from network reduced the TNPC and also improved the hybrid system reliability and the reliability constraint is in the allowable range. The results also showed the superiority of the moth flame optimizer than the well-known particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm in achieving to lower TNPC and better reliability. Since the development of wind power plants installation is growing, problems which are related to network connecting, stability and voltage effects become more important. On the other hand, wind farms are often open to lightning because of their long height and specific appearance. In this paper, modeling and simulation of 1-phase, 3- phase and lightning faults in a wind farm consisting of 40 wind turbines and faults impact on wind farm and the network is investigated in EMTP-RV environment. In this field, it's necessary to develop a precise modeling out of wind power plant in order to evaluate the effects of these power plants on dynamical behavior of the power system. These models can be used in designing new protection systems, new protection algorithms, and new strategies for power plants exploitation improvement. This paper focuses on the end-point control of a single flexible link which rotates in the horizontal plane. The dynamic model is derived using a Lagrangian assumed modes method based on Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. Initially the system is modeled as a voltage-input model, and different controllers were applied to control the system. A fuzzy control strategy is described which is utilized to control the angular displacement and the tip deflection at end point in a single flexible-link robotic arm. The proposed adaptive network based fuzzy logic control (ANFIS) strategy is described for the control of a single flexible link manipulator. The developed controller has two subsystems. The fast-subsystem reduces the vibration of the flexible link manipulator end point, and the other slow-subsystem controller controls the desired position. In the voltage-input model of a single flexible-link manipulator, amplitude of vibrations has been reduced and desired position was achieved. In the torque-input model, control of the vibration and position of a single flexible link manipulator end point are realized successfully, while the end- effect or traces desired position signal. This controller gives the better performance compared to the normal Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID), and Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) controllers and analysed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper presents a hybrid power generation system modeling and simulation with the objective of electricity sale to distribution network (DN) which consists of photovoltaic (PV) module, proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell (FC), hydrogen storage tank (HST) and electrolyzer (EL). Since last researches in optimal FC and PV application aimed in power electronic approach, In this paper the application between FC and PV is considered with the aim of maximizing profit gained due to electricity sale revenue to DN. The revenue from electricity sale to DN considering electricity price in short-term, mid-term and long-term hours is considered as the system profit. Also in a sensitivity analysis the impact of technical parameters of hybrid system components is investigated on system profit. The results showed that the system saves the electricity by hydrogen storage in HST in short-term hours and sale it with more prices in mid-term hours to DN. Also the obtained results show that several technical parameters of PV and PEM FC have considerable impact on system profit. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Application of renewable energy sources has shown a perfect potential as a form of contribution to conventional power generation systems. This paper presents a hybrid system based on photovoltaic (PV) module and PEM (proton exchange membrane) fuel cell (FC) with the aim of selling electricity to distribution network (DN) and improving its reliability. In this paper, moreover supplying the load electricity of system, the proposed hybrid system is capable to sale electricity to DN and by electricity injection causes DN reliability improvement. The revenue from selling electricity to DN is considered as the system profit (SP). An optimization is applied to maximize the SP using GAMS environment. This study claims that moreover load electricity provision, electricity can also be sold to DN by proposed hybrid system and reliability of DN in load supplement can be increased by injecting the electricity to it.
