Does the biography of a philosopher have any relevance to assessing their philosophy? After considering and rejecting three distinct treatments of this question, a different answer is articulated here. Distinguishing between the content and approach of a philosophical text, this article argues that biography is relevant to assessing the approach of the text in three ways: in its socio‐historical context, its philosophical context, and its personal context in the life of the philosopher. There exists wide methodological diversity in philosophy of religion and many of the ways of responding to it are inadequate. This article argues that resources from virtue epistemology can help respond better, specifically connecting the issue to the notion of wisdom. A framework for this is articulated and then applied to Aquinas and Wittgenstein, chosen as utilizing starkly different methodologies in dealing with problems from philosophy of religion. Subacromial impingement syndrome (SIS) is the leading cause of shoulder pain. A systemic approach for abnormal causes of SIS is recommended to avoid misdiagnosing rare or sinister pathologies. To our knowledge, only nine cases of subacromial lipoma arborescens associated with impingement syndrome have been reported in the literature. In this report, we briefly discuss histopathologic and radiological signs of an unusual case of impingement syndrome caused by subacromial “lipoma arborescens” and describe arthroscopic synovectomy after the failure of conservative management. The patient remains symptom-free five years after surgery.

Research has been conducted on Escherichia coli DNA polymerases. Results indicate that DNA polymerase III cannot replicate past the distorting T-T pyrimidine pyrimidinone photoadduct with the reduced proofreading activity.

Results show that in wild-type bacterium, the DNA polymerase V and like enzymes generate mutations during translesion replication with polIII correcting any misincorporations by promoting chromosomal replication.
