The usage of natural sorbents in sewage water treatment technologies, in particular agro-industrial complex, has a number of environmental and economic advantages. Non-traditional sorbents, which are concentrated in many parts of Ukraine, are cheap raw materials for sewage water treatment. The sorption properties of the upland and lowland peat species of the Gamaliivka-Grybovychi deposit, which were studied early, indicate their high sorption capacity for ammonium ions, which, if they enter water bodies, cause a number of environmental problems. According to the results of the ecological assessment of sewage water of meat processing facility, the chicken processing facility and milk processing plant, it was found out the exceedance of the acceptable limits for the content of ammoniacal nitrogen, respectively: 1.3–3 MPC; 3.8 MPC and 2.5 MPC. This component is a water pollutant and a “crop” of yield in agriculture, since nitrogen is an important element of plant nutrition. The rational usage of natural resources involves the complex usage of natural resources. The nitrogen absorbed by ammonium peat, as well as the peat itself is a sufficient fertilizing land, so the use of used peat complex in agriculture allows to solve not only problems of fertilizers, but also to achieve greening in sewage water treatment technologies. Greening as a whole is a result of waste minimization, and today there are two main areas: new technological non-waste technology together with low-waste technology and waste regeneration. This paper presents a comparison of the physiological indices of plants, depending on the application of the species and form of Gamaliivka-Grybovychi peat deposit, Yavoriv district, when fertilizing the substrate (sand as a background) of the study areas. The influence on the quality of ascent and growth of vegetative culture – watercress, natural form of the top and lowland peat species, as well as their waste forms obtained as a result of the process of purification of ammonium ions, modeling the sewage water of the agro-industrial complex, was investigated. The mass of the harvest from the experimental fields was determined and compared. The differences of lowland and upland peat species are due to its origin, which significantly affects their chemical composition. The plants fuelled with peat are much higher in the mass than those crops that were grown with adding of peat substrate into the lowland. However, the used form of lowland peat provided a 1.57 times higher harvested crop yield than the used upland sample of the studied sorbent.

There is studied the ecological status of surface waters in Busk district. The attention is focused on the largest river Western Bug and its tributaries which essentially influence on the ecological condition. The analysis of hydrological monitoring in the basin of the Western Bug is done. Analysis of water pollution in the river is performed with use of fixed position state hydrological monitoring system posts. There are studied the data concerning pollution indicators for 2015 year and 3 seasons of 2016. A comparison of contamination in two points outside the district is carried out. There are considered river Poltva before its waters reach the district and flow into Western Bug and the river Western Bug after it lefts the district. The exceeding of the threshold limit values for some indicators is revealed. In all cases there is a slight excess of the TLV over the content of iron and ammonium ions. In Poltva have been considerable (3–6 times) exceeding the TLV for COD and BOD5, ammonium salt 8.4 times, total iron – 4.3 times, nitrites – in 6.75 times, suspended solids – 3.3 times, phenol – at 2.45 times. Therefore, the section of the city Buzka to the city Kamenka–Bug, Radekhiv bridge river water is not suitable for any water use. The self–cleaning of the water is happening within the district is and the second point of monitoring shows these indicators are within limits. The largest source of organic pollutants and nutrients into Western Bug River is the river Poltva. Insufficiently treated sewage of Lviv increases the level of water contamination. In the district however there are also a source of pollution of surface water with ions of ammonium and iron. For their identification the further observation are required.

This article performs analysis of modern state of the system of sorting and collection of the municipal solid waste (MSW) in Lviv city, including electrical and electronic equipment and its utilization perspectives. The main programs and projects related to collection and utilization of used batteries and energy saving lamps which are taken by the local council in 2013 – 2017 and negotiated nowadays were reviewed. Danger of this toxic waste is emphasized. We have presented the map of used batteries collection points in the city as well as schedule of Eko–Bus stops which provides collection of used energy saving lamps and batteries for October 2016. Short characterization of technological lines of the factories for this toxic waste utilization which provide its suitable recycling and proper use as secondary material is performed. Also we have presented real and project productivity of "Argentum" company the only one in the western the Ukraine which utilizes used batteries and first technological line in Ukraine for recycling tubular and compact energy saving lamps that has started working on the base of warm power station 2015. The problem in the treatment of solid waste in Ukraine, especially in Lviv associated with improper approach for managing them. In particular, concerning the collection and disposal of hazardous toxic waste such as spent batteries and energy–saving lamps, in Lviv not only introduced the program on proper handling, but also implemented the project on a significant percentage. Best results to solve this problem can be achieved by wider awareness of owners waste about their risk and the processing perspective in our city.
