This Collective Article includes records of 29 alien and cryptogenic species in the Mediterranean Sea, belonging to eight Phyla (Rhodophyta, Ochrophyta, Cnidaria, Annelida, Mollusca, Arthropoda, Echinodermata, and Chordata) and coming from 11 countries. Notes published here can be divided into three different categories: occupancy estimation for wide areas, new records for the Mediterranean Sea, and new records of species expanding within the Mediterranean Sea. The first category includes a visual survey held along the coastline of Peloponnese (Greece), which yielded records of 15 species. The second category includes the first Mediterranean records of the Coho salmon Oncorhynchus kisutch (Greece) and of the Arabian monocle bream Scolopsis ghanam (Tunisia). The third category includes new records for countries (Ganonema farinosum in Malta, Cassiopea andromeda in Libya, Cingulina isseli in Greece, Okenia picoensis in Italy, Callinectes sapidus in Slovenia, Charybdis cf. hellerii in Malta, Urocaridella pulchella in Cyprus, Ablennes hians and Aluterus monoceros in Lebanon, and Fistularia petimba in Greece and Lebanon), new records for MSFD areas or regional seas (Septifer cumingii in the Greek Ionian Sea and F. petimba in the Marmara Sea), and confirmation of old, doubtful, or spurious records/statements (Branchiomma luctuosum in Tunisia, Thalamita poissonii in the Saronikos Gulf, and Pterois miles in Albania). Noteworthy, the three new records of F. petimba suggest that it may soon spread further in the Mediterranean Sea, as already happened for its congeneric Fistularia commersonii. Distributional data reported here will help tracing colonization routes of alien species in the basin and may facilitate the development of mitigation measures., peer-reviewed

This study reports the heterobranch mollusks Bursatella leachii (Blainville, 1817) and Melibe viridis (Kelaart, 1858) for the first time from the Dardanelles (Çanakkale Strait), Turkey. Individuals of these two species were observed in January 2020 on a sandy and seagrass bed of Cymodocea nodosa (Ucria) Ascherson and in groups among the algae Caulerpa racemosa (Forsskâl) J. Agardh. Although the Dar-danelles is one of the biodiversity hotspots in Turkish Seas and the abundance of marine invertebrates in particular regions is significantly high, the inventory of the sea slugs in the region is limited. This study improves the existing knowledge on the molluscan fauna of the Turkish Straits System, the species abundance in the region and their ecological characteristics. The current finding also represents the northernmost records in an invaded area at the Çanakkale Strait of Aegean Sea. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The whole molluscan assemblages along the Turkish coasts of the Aegean Sea and the Levantine Sea (Southern Turkish coasts), were studied from 20 stations at depths ranging from 11 m to 69 m, between August and October 2014. This has resulted in new contribution to Mediterranean marine molluscan fauna. Crithe cossinea is a new lessepsian for the Mediterranean Sea, five Gastropoda (Melanella alba, Mangelia callosa, Mangelia tenuicosta, Clathromangelia loiselieri, Raphitoma bicolor) are new records for Turkish Seas, two Gastropoda (Ondina obliqua, Retusa nitidula) are new records for the Aegean Sea while another two Gastropoda (Alvania hispidula, Vexillum hypatiae) are new records for the Turkish coast of the Aegean Sea and four Gastropoda (Cerithiopsis fayalensis, Bela menkhorsti, Raphitoma aequalis, and the alien species Monotygma fulva) are new records for the Turkish coasts of Levantine Sea. Among Bivalvia species, Thyasira alleni is a new record for both seas and Pitar mediterraneus is a new record for the Turkish coasts of Levantine Sea. The present study contributes to molluscan fauna of Turkish waters by the addition of six more species, increasing their number to 1076.

The present work updates the number of alien molluscs reported in the eastern Mediterranean since 2012 andbrings the total to more than 100 species in the Levantine Turkish Coast. Ervilia scaliola Issel, 1869, widespread in the RedSea, was collected in August 2013 from Taşucu Harbour, Levantine coast of Turkey. This is the first record of E. scaliolain the Mediterranean Sea. Although shipping appears to be the most probable vector of its introduction, Lessepsianmigration cannot be ruled out as a pathway.
