The authors consider the potential of a loose coalition in curbing US global influence, ie. the implications of its formation and strengthening on the final establishment of multipolarity. Based on the view that international relations are increasingly defined by multipolarity and that the opposition is increasingly speaking out against yesterday's hegemon, the authors point out that the US insists on an increasingly harsh global polarization, while Russia and China strive to initiate global "dedollarization" mechanisms. The joining of African and Middle Eastern countries to the anti-American bloc initiates international processes that potentially lead to the strengthening of existing and the formation of new units of collective security. After a period of soft balancing of US power, in the period from the coming to power of the Putin administration until the conflict in Georgia in 2008, the Russian Federation began an era of hard balancing, and the conflicts in Syria and the current one in Ukraine are the best indicators. By intervening in Syria, Russia secured the supply of its own gas to Europe and regained its international reputation, while by launching military operations in Ukraine, it rejected immediate military threats to NATO from its borders. The balance of power is currently emerging as the most realistic concept of international relations, although Russia and China are waiting for the moment when the inevitability of economic growth will change the balance of power in their favor.

Introduction/Objective Cat bites can seriously harm human health, especially if the bite comes from a stray or feral cat who is not under veterinary supervision. Cat bites are the second most common mammal bites, second only to dog bites, and responsible for ¾ of all bites that result in infection. We are presenting the case of a young woman whose hand had been bitten by a stray or feral cat. The objective of this case study is to stress the importance of timely medical treatment and wound management based on guidelines for treating bites inflicted by stray or feral cats, aiming to prevent possible complications. Case report A 32-year-old woman was admitted and examined in the University of Sarajevo Clinical Centre Emergency Department on the third day after being bitten by a stray or feral cat, by which time all signs of inflammation had already developed at the site of the injury-her right hand. Medical help was provided based on guidelines that included specific wound dressings recommended for animal bites, a prescription of antibiotics, analgesics and an anti-tetanus shot. The patient fully recovered with no complications. Conclusion The specific anatomy of the cat's canines enables them to penetrate deeply into the bitten tissue, which can cause an innoculation of a wide range of microorganisms from the cat's mouth into the patient's bloodstream. This can cause serious inflammatory processes, especially in immunocompromised patients. Adequate medical treatment of injuries resulting from cat bites is necessary as soon as possible, but no later than 48 hours after the incident.

Introduction: Numerous human migrations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia's northern province of Vojvodina have led to the increased mixing of these population's genetic pool, leading to a reduction in genetic differences. The question is whether there are now genetic differences between the mentioned populations. Methods: Short Tandem Repeat (STR) loci D2S1338 and D18S51 were used in this paper to compare the diversity of alleles and genotypes between the populations of Vojvodina and one of the two Bosnia's entities, the Republic of Srpska (RS). Three hundred ninety unrelated persons, 140 persons from the RS and 260 from Vojvodina, were analysed. The PowerPlex ESX16 System commercial kit was used for profiling persons from the territory of the RS and the AmpF/STR Identifiler commercial kit for persons from Vojvodina. The Mann-Whitney U-test was used for statistical analysis. Results: Data analysis concluded a significant deviation in the allele frequency of the D18S51 locus where p=0.021. There was no statistically significant deviation in the D2S1338 locus allele frequency between these two populations. It was also found that there is a statistically significant deviation in the genotype frequencies of these two populations for the analysed genetic markers. Conclusion: This study confirms the existence of a significant deviation of allelic frequency for the D18S51 gene locus and a significant deviation of both gene markers frequency of genotypes.

The People's Republic of China, along with the United States and the Russian Federation, has become a great power in international affairs as a result of its significant economic expansion in recent decades, as well as the strengthening of its military force and pronounced political influence. What distinguishes China in the global order is its developing soft power, which profiles it as a desirable partner for cooperation. In other words, China is economically and politically "present" in every corner of the world, and in the last decade, more than ever before in the Balkans. China's relations with the Balkan countries are improving and becoming more substantial, and they are most developed with Serbia. The paper will explore the elements of China's "soft power" and how it is used in cooperation with the Balkan countries, as well as the reasons that set Serbia apart in cooperation with China in relation to other Balkan countries. An attempt will be made to answer the questions about the benefits of the Balkan countries' cooperation with China, why the US and the EU have a negative attitude towards China's cooperation with the Balkan countries, and whether such a relationship is motivated solely by economic reasons or other geopolitical interests.

Introduction Smoking is a type of addiction that presents a significant problem for all health systems. Continuous education is necessary to promote awareness of the harmful effects of cigarette smoking. All type of assistance should be made available to help cigarette smokers shake the habit of smoking cigarettes. Objective to determine how smoking prohibitions and restrictions influence the population of students in Austria (Vienna) to smoke more or less than students in Sarajevo, as well as to determine the students' opinions on tobacco consumption. Methods Between 1st January and 31st May 2017, a survey was conducted to determine the awareness of students about the harmful effects of smoking and their opinions on the subject. One hundred students were surveyed, 50 from Sarajevo and 50 from Vienna. Both sexes were almost equally represented (26 male and 24 female in Vienna and 25 male and 25 female in Sarajevo). A specifically designed questionnaire had 20 questions. The results were evaluated using SPSS, the statistical software platform. Results the results show that a larger number of students smoked tobacco in Sarajevo (30 - 63,8%) than those in Vienna (17 - 33,6%). Within the surveyed group, the largest number of students use the hookah, also more in Sarajevo (36 - 55.4%) than in Vienna (29 - 44.6%). Students mostly smoke one to two packs of cigarettes a day and believe that they can stop whenever they want. The health risks do not prevent them from smoking cigarettes and hookahs. Prohibitions and restrictions affect the smoking habits of students in Vienna, but not in Sarajevo. The motivation to stop smoking is at a very low level. Students from Sarajevo think that they can stop smoking by spending time with non-smokers or indulging in sports activities. Students from Vienna think that awareness of the harmful effects of smoking can help a person to stop smoking. Students are aware of the dangers of smoking and consider hookah more dangerous than cigarettes. Conclusion the smoking of tobacco by young people is becoming a more pronounced health problem. Therefore, it is necessary to apply stricter legal prohibitions and restrictions as well as preventive measures. Future activities needed to tackle this global problem are the education of the young about the harmful effects of smoking.
