iPads have become increasingly popular as tools for teaching in early education. With their multifaceted and interactive affordances as handheld and mobile devices, they have been ascribed great potential to change and expand on classroom practice. However, the iPad often becomes just another technology hype in education, and explanations often point to teachers' and schools' lack of technical know-how and ability to utilise the devices' affordances. In this qualitative case study, we explore how teachers organise and practise iPads in two different classrooms. Classroom observations and interviews with the teachers were conducted to enrich our knowledge about the complexities of iPad use in teaching and to strengthen the knowledge of how different settings produce different iPad practices. Using an actor-network theory approach, the study suggests that iPads are not simply put into use, but enacted through fluid, heterogeneous assemblages of human and non-human actors in the classroom. The iPad's affordances, such as mobility, are performed rather than inherent qualities of the devices themselves, and the classroom becomes a mishmash of fostering and hindering mobile practices.

Abstract Background Malaria continues to wreak havoc on the well-being of the community. Resistant parasites are jeopardizing the treatment. This is a wake-up call for better medications. Folk plants are the key starting point for antimalarial drug discovery. After crushing and mixing the leaves of Coriandrum sativum with water, one cup of tea is drunk daily for a duration of three to five days as a remedy for malaria by local folks in Ethiopia. Additionally, in vitro experiments conducted on the plant leaf extract elsewhere have also demonstrated the plant’s malaria parasite inhibitory effect. There has been no pharmacologic research to assert this endowment in animals, though. This experiment was aimed at evaluating the antimalarial efficacy of C. sativum in Plasmodium berghei infected mice. Methods The plant's leaf was extracted using maceration with distilled water. The extract was examined for potential acute toxicity. An evaluation of secondary phytoconstituents was done. Standard antimalarial screening models (prophylactic, chemosuppressive, curative tests) were utilized to assess the antiplasmodial effect. In each test, thirty mice were organized into groups of five. To the three categories, the test substance was given at doses of 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg/day before or after the commencement of P. berghei infection. Positive and negative control mice were provided Chloroquine and distilled water, respectively. Rectal temperature, parasitemia, body weight, survival time and packed cell volume were ultimately assessed. Analysis of the data was performed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences. This article presents a case study of an 83-year-old man who was admitted to the hospital with symptoms including fever, pain, and loss of consciousness. The patient was diagnosed with septic shock and underwent whole blood transcriptome analysis to understand the pathogenesis of the disease. The analysis revealed changes in biological pathways related to inflammatory responses and immune suppression. The patient ultimately died of multiple organ failure due to septic shock. The study suggests that whole blood transcriptomic analysis can provide insights into the process of acute systemic inflammatory response and the challenges of maintaining homeostasis. As compared with a mono-polar type Linear DC Motor (LDM), it is possible for a multi-polar type LDM to have a longer stroke and more thrust with thin shape. However, there are thrust ripple on multipolar type one. In this paper, a design to prevent thrust ripple is discussed. In order to make a smoother thrust on multi-polar type LDM, the structure of the LDM is set as a 2-phase coil type. This paper clarifies that the thrust ripple of the LDM has the minimum value of 1.68%, the pole pitch of 15 mm, the coil width of 12 mm and the permanent magnet width of 10 mm.

In this paper, examination of the limiting value of the thrust constant of a linear DC motor (LDM) is described. The LDM under consideration is a moving coil unipolar type. We deduce a relation between the limiting value of the thrust constant LDM and the dimensions of the yokes. By comparison of the measured thrust and the magnetic field analysis (finite element method), the validity of the thrust constant limit equation is confirmed. The thrust constant limit equation qualitatively agrees with the observed result, and its maximum error is 26.0 percent. It also agrees well with the result of the magnetic field analysis.

Objective: This study aimed to assess uncontrolled blood pressure and contributing factors among patients with hypertension. Methods: Hospital-based cross-sectional study was conducted from January to April 2021 at Bedele General Hospital. Data were collected using the semi-structured questionnaire. All patients with hypertension were included using consecutive sampling technique unless ineligible. EpiData 4.4.2 was used for data entry, and SPSS 24.0 was employed for analysis. Binary logistic regression analysis was performed to identify factors associated with uncontrolled blood pressure. Results: A total of 219 patients with hypertension were included in the study. About 60.3% of participants were male. The mean age of the study participants was 48.54 ± 12.93 years. The prevalence of uncontrolled blood pressure among the study participants was 56.2%. The factors significantly associated with uncontrolled blood pressure were age >60 years (adjusted prevalence ratio = 4.42; 95% confidence interval = (1.71, 11.46); p = 0.002) and the presence of comorbidity (adjusted prevalence ratio = 2.16; 95% confidence interval = (1.22, 3.82); p = 0.008). Conclusion: More than half of the study participants had uncontrolled blood pressure. Older age and comorbidity were the predictors of uncontrolled blood pressure. Attaining controlled blood pressure is important to avoid consequences of high blood pressure. So, healthcare provider should focus on achieving target blood pressure goal.
