The study investigates dust management at the Albert Ilemobade library, The Federal University of Technology Akure. Dust deposition and accumulation poses a major challenge for the university library as all the units, sections, and divisions are affected. Dust not only adversely affects all materials, equipment, and facilities including books, audiovisual collections, and computers, but also constitutes a health hazard to library personnel and users. Major sources of dust include visitor activities and infiltration through openings like windows and doors. Dust mats, special computer enclosures, dusters, dust blowers, and respiratory masks were made available for dust protection and management in the library. The library lacked equipment like High Efficiency Particulate Arresting (HEPA) filters and dust collection, and suppressions systems. Lack of awareness and training, inadequate funding, and lack of equipment were identified as the challenges to dust management in the library. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study evaluated computer-based library services/routines at Kenneth Dike Library, University of Ibadan. Four research questions were developed and answered. A survey research design was adopted; using questionnaire as the instrument for data collection. A total of 200 respondents randomly selected from 10 faculties in the University represent the sample of the study. A total of 200 copies of questionnaire were administered out of which 180 copies were re turned giving 90% return rate. Tables and percentages were used for data presentation. The results revealed that, computer-based services/routines at Kenneth Dike library are internet services to students and usage of On -line Public Access Catalogue, Information systems used at the computer - based routines/services section has not been effective and efficient in quest for information searches. The results also demonstrate that users prefer computer -based services to manually administered one and majority of the respondents are not satisfied with services rendered to them. The study concluded that computer -based services at University of Ibadan library are not all that effective as at the period of this research. Students that patronize the computer room are fewer and majority of them are postgraduates. The study recommends that library management should encourage students, inform and educate them on the importance of computer -room in the library to their academic performances. E -learning centre affiliated with the library should be established as this would provide avenue for free browsing and increase the patronage of computer section in the library. The study examined health information needs and information sources of pregnant women in Ogbomoso metropolis, Oyo state, Nigeria. Descriptive survey research design was used for the study. The instrument of questionnaire was used to elicit information from the two teaching hospitals in Ogbomoso metropolis namely: Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso and Bowen University Teaching hospital (BUTH), Ogbomosho. The period of administration of questionnaire covered two (2) months with the aid of staff Nurse/midwifes on duty. The total number of one hundred and fifty questionnaire was distributed to the respondents of which 136 copies were returned and analysed at 90.7% response rate. The demographic characteristics of the respondents showed that there were graduate that participated in the study. Majority had just spent between 1-5years in marriage. Among information needs of pregnant women includes information on maternity, information on delivery and information on breast feeding among others. The study also found no significant relationship between use of health information sources and information needs of pregnant women (N=136, r =-050, P= >01). The study found significant joint effect of independent variables (information needs of pregnant women, source of health information used and constraint to use of health information) on use of health information sources F(3,132) 1,583; R=.186, = R2 .035; P >.05). The article discusses a study that examined the use of library resources by Kwara State University (KWASU) students at the University Library in Malete, Kwara State in Nigeria.
