To evaluate the effect of different dietary lipids on zebrafish reproduction, we examined parameters including ovary and carcass composition, oestradiol (E2) levels, eclosion rate and embryonic development. In our study, zebrafish were subjected to a 5-month feeding trial whereby olive ( OLV), linseed ( LIN), fish ( FIS) or corn ( CRN) oil were used to compose four isonitrogenous and isoenergetic diets. A positive correlation was found between ovary EPA and whole-body E2 concentration ( P = 0.005). The developmental dynamics was affected by dietary lipids and embryos from CRN treatment females; which had higher percentage of ARA in ovary (1.48 ± 0.44%) ( P = 0.015), developed faster at 8-9 h postfertilization (hpf) than the ones originated from females receiving other diets ( P = 0.0069). This effect was not sustained during later observation periods, suggesting ARA may act as a modulator of developmental dynamics only during initial phases. There was no clear effect of dietary lipid source on ovary protein content ( P = 0.304) and eclosion rates at 72 hpf ( P = 0.0623). Dietary fatty acids play an important role in reproductive outcome; however, additional studies are necessary to elucidate the mechanisms by which HUFA affect embryonic development. Abstract Background Although fibroblast growth factor 19 (FGF19) can promote liver carcinogenesis in mice, its involvement in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has not been well investigated. FGF19, a member of the FGF family, has unique specificity for its receptor FGFR4. This study aimed to clarify the involvement of FGF19 in the development of HCC. Methods We investigated human FGF19 and FGFR4 expression in 40 hepatocellular carcinoma specimens using quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) analysis and immunohistochemistry. Moreover, we examined the expression and the distribution of FGF19 and FGFR4 in 5 hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines (HepG2, HuH7, HLE, HLF, and JHH7) using RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry. To test the role of the FGF19/FGFR4 system in tumor progression, we used recombinant FGF19 protein and small interfering RNA (siRNA) of FGF19 and FGFR4 to regulate their concentrations. Results We found that FGF19 was significantly overexpressed in HCCs as compared with corresponding noncancerous liver tissue (P < 0.05). Univariate and multivariate analyses revealed that the tumor FGF19 mRNA expression was an independent prognostic factor for overall and disease-free survival. Moreover, we found that the FGF19 recombinant protein could increase the proliferation (P < 0.01, n = 12) and invasion (P < 0.01, n = 6) capabilities of human hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines and inhibited their apoptosis (P < 0.01, n = 12). Inversely, decreasing FGF19 and FGFR4 expression by siRNA significantly inhibited proliferation and increased apoptosis in JHH7 cells (P < 0.01, n = 12). The postoperative serum FGF19 levels in HCC patients was significantly lower than the preoperative levels (P < 0.01, n = 29). Conclusions FGF19 is critically involved in the development of HCCs. Targeting FGF19 inhibition is an attractive potential therapeutic strategy for HCC.

Meiotic sex chromosome inactivation (MSCI) is an essential event in meiotic progression in mammalian spermatogenesis. We found that La Ribonucleoprotein 7 (LARP7) is involved in MSCI. LARP7 plays a role in fetal germ cells to promote their proliferation, but is once abolished in postnatal gonocytes and re-expressed in spermatocytes at the onset of meiosis. In spermatocytes, LARP7 localizes to the XY body, a compartmentalized chromatin domain on sex chromosomes. In germline-specific Larp7-deficient mice, spermatogenesis is arrested in spermatocytes, and transcription of the genes on sex chromosomes remained active, which suggests failure of meiotic sex chromosome inactivation (MSCI). Furthermore, the XY body in spermatocytes lacking Larp7 shows accumulation of H4K12ac and elimination of H3K9me2, suggesting defective chromatin silencing by abnormal epigenetic controls. Mammalian germ cells are derived from primordial germ cells (PGCs) and ensure species continuity through generations. Unlike irreversible committed mature germ cells, migratory PGCs exhibit a latent pluripotency characterized by the ability to derive embryonic germ cells (EGCs) and form teratoma. Here, we show that inhibition of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) by chemical compounds in mouse migratory PGCs enables derivation of chemically induced Embryonic Germ-like Cells (cEGLCs) that do not require conventional growth factors like LIF and FGF2/Activin-A, and possess unique naïve pluripotent-like characteristics with epiblast features and chimera formation potential. Furthermore, cEGLCs are regulated by a unique PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, distinct from conventional naïve pluripotent stem cells described previously. Consistent with this notion, we show by performing ex vivo analysis that inhibition of p38 MAPK in organ culture supports the survival and proliferation of PGCs and also potentially reprograms PGCs to acquire indefinite proliferative capabilities, marking these cells as putative teratoma-producing cells. These findings highlight the utility of our ex vivo model in mimicking in vivo teratoma formation, thereby providing valuable insights into the cellular mechanisms underlying tumorigenesis. Mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs) have been widely used as a model system to study the basic biology of pluripotency and to develop cell-based therapies. Traditionally, mESCs have been cultured in a medium supplemented with fetal bovine serum (FBS). However, serum with its inconsistent chemical composition has been problematic for reproducibility and for studying the role of specific components. While some serum-free media have been reported, these media contain commercial additives whose detailed components have not been disclosed. Recently, we developed a serum-free medium, DA-X medium, which can maintain a wide variety of adherent cancer lines. In this study, we modified the DA-X medium and established a novel serum-free condition for both naïve mESCs in which all components are chemically defined and disclosed (DA-X-modified medium for robust growth of pluripotent stem cells: DARP medium). The DARP medium fully supports the normal transcriptome and differentiation potential in teratoma and the establishment of mESCs from blastocysts that retain the developmental potential in all three germ layers, including germ cells in chimeric embryos. Utility of chemically defined DA-X medium for primed mouse epiblast stem cells (mEpiSCs) revealed that an optimal amount of cholesterol is required for the robust growth of naïve-state mESCs, but is dispensable for the maintenance of primed-state mEpiSCs. The effectiveness of gamification-based feedback systems that utilize non-monetary points to promote exercise among cardiovascular disease (CVD) patients has not been fully evaluated. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a gamification program using non-monetary points on the daily step counts in CVD patients. We collected 30 patients with a history of heart failure or myocardial infarction at a single tertiary center between January 9, 2023, and April 13, 2023. The primary outcome was the change in daily step counts. The baseline step counts were compared with those during the 4-week gamification and the 1-week follow-up period. A total of 29 participants with a mean age of 64.6 years were finally enrolled, and 8 (27.6%) were female. Among them, 23 (79.3%) had a history of old myocardial infarction, and 9 (31.0%) had a history of chronic heart failure. During the intervention period, the average daily step counts increased significantly from baseline in weeks 1-5 (week 1: 1165 steps; 95% CI, 319-2011; P = 0.009, week 2: 1508; 635-2382; P = 0.001, week 3: 1321; 646-1996; P < 0.001, week 4: 1436; 791-2081; P < 0.001, week 5:1148; 436-1860; P < 0.001). Higher body mass index was statistically associated with the smaller difference in step counts from the baseline, and the lower proportion of achievement of step count goals. Female sex was significantly associated with the higher proportion of achievement of step count goals. In conclusion, this pilot prospective interventional study demonstrated the effectiveness of gamification-based feedback systems that utilize non-monetary points to increase daily step counts in CVD patients.

Embryogenesis necessitates harmonious coordination between embryonic and extraembryonic tissues. Although stem cells of both embryonic and extraembryonic origins have been generated, they are grown in different culture conditions. In this study, utilizing a unified culture condition that activates the FGF, TGF-β, and WNT pathways, we have successfully derived embryonic stem cells (FTW-ESCs), extraembryonic endoderm stem cells (FTW-XENs), and trophoblast stem cells (FTW-TSCs) from the three foundational tissues of mouse and cynomolgus monkey (Macaca fascicularis) blastocysts. This approach facilitates the co-culture of embryonic and extraembryonic stem cells, revealing a growth inhibition effect exerted by extraembryonic endoderm cells on pluripotent cells, partially through extracellular matrix signaling. Additionally, our cross-species analysis identified both shared and unique transcription factors and pathways regulating FTW-XENs. To produce muscle fibers for cultured meat on a large scale, it is important to expand myoblasts in a serum-reduced or serum-free medium to avoid cost, ethical, and environmental issues. Myoblasts such as C2C12 cells differentiate quickly into myotubes and lose their ability to proliferate when the serum-rich medium is replaced with a serum-reduced medium. This study demonstrates that Methyl-β-cyclodextrin (MβCD), a starch-derived agent that depletes cholesterol, can inhibit further differentiation of myoblasts at the MyoD-positive stage by reducing plasma membrane cholesterol on C2C12 cells and primary cultured chick muscle cells. Furthermore, MβCD efficiently blocks cholesterol-dependent apoptotic cell death of myoblasts, which is one of the mechanisms by which it inhibits the differentiation of C2C12 myoblast cells, as dead cells of myoblast are necessary for the fusion of adjacent myoblasts during the differentiation process into myotubes. Importantly, MβCD maintains the proliferative capacity of myoblasts only under differentiation conditions with a serum-reduced medium, suggesting that its mitogenic effect is due to its inhibitory effect on myoblast differentiation into myotube. Faithful embryogenesis requires precise coordination between embryonic and extraembryonic tissues. Although stem cells from embryonic and extraembryonic origins have been generated for several mammalian species(Bogliotti et al., 2018; Choi et al., 2019; Cui et al., 2019; Evans and Kaufman, 1981; Kunath et al., 2005; Li et al., 2008; Martin, 1981; Okae et al., 2018; Tanaka et al., 1998; Thomson et al., 1998; Vandevoort et al., 2007; Vilarino et al., 2020; Yu et al., 2021b; Zhong et al., 2018), they are grown in different culture conditions with diverse media composition, which makes it difficult to study cross-lineage communication. Here, by using the same culture condition that activates FGF, TGF-β and WNT signaling pathways, we derived stable embryonic stem cells (ESCs), extraembryonic endoderm stem cells (XENs) and trophoblast stem cells (TSCs) from all three founding tissues of mouse and cynomolgus monkey blastocysts. This allowed us to establish embryonic and extraembryonic stem cell co-cultures to dissect lineage crosstalk during early mammalian development. Co-cultures of ESCs and XENs uncovered a conserved and previously unrecognized growth inhibition of pluripotent cells by extraembryonic endoderm cells, which is in part mediated through extracellular matrix signaling. Our study unveils a more universal state of stem cell self-renewal stabilized by activation, as opposed to inhibition, of developmental signaling pathways. We present a case of thoracic SMARCA4-deficient undifferentiated tumor that needed to be differentiated from malignant lymphoma owing to multiple lymph node swelling and marrow involvement. A 52-year-old man developed multiple lymphadenopathies along with anorexia, general fatigue, fever, and sweating 2 months prior to admission. 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scan revealed a mass lesion on the right upper lung, generalized lymph node swelling, and bone metastasis, indicating the presence of suspicious lung cancer; therefore, he was referred to our hospital. Malignant lymphoma was suspected at the time of admission because of elevated levels of lactate dehydrogenase (11,977 U/l) and soluble interleukin 2 receptor (2,152 U/ml) as well as marrow infiltration of large abnormal cells. On day 11, the patient died from rapid respiratory failure. Histological and immunohistochemical features of the pleural effusion cell block led to the diagnosis of thoracic SMARCA4-deficient undifferentiated tumor. Thoracic SMARCA4-deficient undifferentiated tumor was recently introduced in the 2021 World Health Organization classification of lung tumors, with most patients being young adults with a history of heavy smoking and poor prognosis. Because of the multiple lymph node swelling and marrow involvement, this undifferentiated tumor should be distinguished from malignant lymphoma.

Serum-containing medium is widely used to support cell attachment, stable growth and serial passaging of various cancer cell lines. However, the presence of cholesterols and lipids in serum greatly hinders the analysis of the effects of cholesterol depletion on cells in culture. In this study, we developed a defined serum-free culture condition accessible to a variety of different types of adherent cancer cells. We tested different factors that are considered essential for cell culture and various extracellular matrix for plate coating, and found cells cultured in Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium (DMEM) basal media supplemented with Albumin (BSA) and insulin-transferrin-selenium-ethanolamine (ITS-X) on fibronectin-precoated plate (called as "DA-X condition") showed comparable proliferation and survival to those in a serum-containing medium. Interestingly, we observed that DA-X condition could be adapted to a wide variety of adherent cancer cell lines, which enabled the analysis of how cholesterol depletion affected cancer cells in culture. Mechanistically, we found the beneficial effects of the DA-X condition in part can be attributed to the appropriate level of membrane cholesterol, and fibronectin-mediated signaling plays an important role in the suppression of cholesterol production., Competing Interests: The authors have declared that no competing interests exist.

We present the case of a 56-year-old male patient with paravertebral extramedullary hematopoiesis (EMH) secondary to myelodysplastic syndrome with ring sideroblasts and multilineage dysplasia. In a routine health checkup over 5 years prior, he presented with asymptomatic mild anemia and a posterior mediastinal mass. Pathological and cytomorphological findings of the resected paravertebral mass were similar to those of his bone marrow specimen, and included cellularity with erythroid hyperplasia, multilineage dysplastic changes, and the presence of ring sideroblasts. A concordant SF3B1 mutation was detected in both bone marrow and paravertebral mass samples, suggesting that the EMH cells were derived from the bone marrow., (© 2022. Bendamustine is now recognized as a key drug for indolent B-cell lymphoma (iBCL), mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Skin toxicity associated with bendamustine is one of the characteristic adverse effects. We retrospectively examined the relationship between bendamustine-associated drug rashes and disease prognosis of iBCL and MCL at our institution. Between January 2011 and August 2019, 65 patients (39 men and 26 women, median age 68, range 41-84 years) were treated with bendamustine alone (n=11, 120 mg/m 2 on days 1 and 2) or a combination of rituximab and bendamustine (n=54, 90 mg/m 2 on days 1 and 2). Of these patients, 47 had follicular lymphoma (FL), 10 had MCL and 8 had other iBCLs. Drug rash occurred in 27 (41.5%). Eight cases (29.6%) were grade 1, 5 (18.5%) were grade 2 and 14 (51.9%) were grade 3. The onset was in the first course in 17 (63.0%), 2nd course in 5 (18.5%), 3rd course in 2 (7.4%), 4th course in 1 (3.7%) and 5th course in 2 (7.4%). No treatment was administered in 1 case (3.7%), topical steroid was applied in 10 (37.0%), antiallergic drug was administered in 2 (7.4%), topical steroid and antiallergic drug were administered in 5 (18.5%), and oral and topical steroid and antiallergic drug were administered in 9 (33.3%). The 3-year progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in patients with rash development were 80.0% and 85.5%, respectively, and those in patients without development were 36.4% and 54.0%, respectively (p=0.009 and 0.02, respectively). By multivariate analysis, the development of rash was associated with a better PFS and a diagnosis of iBCL was associated with a better OS. This study revealed that bendamustine-induced rash is associated with a favorable prognosis among patients with iBCL.

Pluripotent stem cells (PSCs) are in vitro adaptations of in vivo pluripotency continuum and can be broadly classified into naïve state characteristic of pre-implantation epiblast and primed state resembling peri-gastrulation epiblasts. Naïve and primed PSCs differ in their cellular and molecular characteristics, e.g., molecular mechanisms for maintaining undifferentiated state. Naïve-to-primed PSC transition provides a tractable in vitro model to study pluripotency development in vivo. We previously developed a protocol that enabled high-efficient (100%) and homogenous derivation of ground state of primed epiblast stem cells (rsEpiSCs) by culturing the isolated post-implantation mouse epiblast under the culture condition containing FGF2 and a Wnt signaling inhibitor (IWR1) (F/R1 condition). Based on F/R1 condition, in this study, we developed three naïve-to-primed conversion methods for generating rsEpiSCs from naïve ground state of mouse ESCs (2i/LIF condition). We found that stepwise methods, but not directly, were effective for bona fide rsEpiSCs conversion from mouse ESCs. In sum, we established a robust and efficient ground states of naïve-to-primed PSC conversion strategy that will facilitate the study of genetic, epigenetic and metabolic processes involved in pluripotency progression in vivo., (Copyright © 2021 Elsevier Inc. Aims: Functional decline is associated with worse outcomes in patients with elderly heart failure (HF), but little is known about the prognostic impact of hospital-acquired disability (HAD) during hospital stay after acute HF. The present study examines the prognostic significance of HAD in the prediction of all-cause mortality in elderly patients who admitted for acute HF., Methods and Results: This retrospective study was performed in 1941 elderly patients aged ≥65 years or older from the cardiovascular physiotherapy for acute HF patients in the Tokyo metropolitan area registry and excluded those who died in hospital. HAD was defined as any decline in the Barthel index (BI) before discharge compared with the BI within 1 month before hospital admission. The primary outcome of this study was all-cause death and HF readmission. A total of 565 (29%) deaths and 789 (41%) HF readmission occurred over a median follow-up period of 1.7 years. A total of 476 patients (25%) had HAD during hospital stay after acute HF. In multivariable analysis, HAD predicted all-cause death [hazard ratio (HR): 1.772; 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.450-2.167; P < 60; 0.001] and with risk of HF readmission (HR: 1.193; 95% CI: 1.005-1.416; P = 0.043) after adjusting for the Meta-analysis Global Group in Chronic Heart Failure risk score., Conclusions: Hospital-acquired disability is associated with an increased risk of all-cause death and readmission for HF in elderly patients with acute HF., (© 2021 The Authors. Cell competition involves a conserved fitness-sensing process during which fitter cells eliminate neighbouring less-fit but viable cells 1 . Cell competition has been proposed as a surveillance mechanism to ensure normal development and tissue homeostasis, and has also been suggested to act as a barrier to interspecies chimerism 2 . However, cell competition has not been studied in an interspecies context during early development owing to the lack of an in vitro model. Here we developed an interspecies pluripotent stem cell (PSC) co-culture strategy and uncovered a previously unknown mode of cell competition between species. Interspecies competition between PSCs occurred in primed but not naive pluripotent cells, and between evolutionarily distant species. By comparative transcriptome analysis, we found that genes related to the NF-κB signalling pathway, among others, were upregulated in less-fit 'loser' human cells. Genetic inactivation of a core component (P65, also known as RELA) and an upstream regulator (MYD88) of the NF-κB complex in human cells could overcome the competition between human and mouse PSCs, thereby improving the survival and chimerism of human cells in early mouse embryos. These insights into cell competition pave the way for the study of evolutionarily conserved mechanisms that underlie competitive cell interactions during early mammalian development. Suppression of interspecies PSC competition may facilitate the generation of human tissues in animals.

Dynamic pluripotent stem cell (PSC) states are in vitro adaptations of pluripotency continuum in vivo. Previous studies have generated a number of PSCs with distinct properties. To date, however, no known PSCs have demonstrated dual competency for chimera formation and direct responsiveness to primordial germ cell (PGC) specification, a unique functional feature of formative pluripotency. Here, by modulating fibroblast growth factor (FGF), transforming growth factor β (TGF-β), and WNT pathways, we derived PSCs from mice, horses, and humans (designated as XPSCs) that are permissive for direct PGC-like cell induction in vitro and are capable of contributing to intra- or inter-species chimeras in vivo. XPSCs represent a pluripotency state between naive and primed pluripotency and harbor molecular, cellular, and phenotypic features characteristic of formative pluripotency. XPSCs open new avenues for studying mammalian pluripotency and dissecting the molecular mechanisms governing PGC specification. To determine the impact of peripheral blood (PB) Wilms' tumour 1 ( WT-1 ) mRNA levels in patients with primary myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), we analysed the relationships between several clinical variables at the time of diagnosis and the haematological response of patients treated with azacytidine. We observed overall responses in 20 (63%) patients; there were no significant differences in clinical variables, including bone marrow blast counts, IPSS scores and IPSS-R risk scores, between responders and non-responders. The responders' PB WT-1 mRNA levels were significantly lower than those of non-responders ( P  = 0.03). The 2017 WHO classification includes a new provisional entity of indolent T-lymphoproliferative disorders of the gastrointestinal tract (ITLPD-GIT). We investigated GI involvement of peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL). Eighty-two patients were diagnosed with PTCL during 2007-2017. Eleven patients (13 %) had histologically-confirmed GI tract involvement {3 monomorphic epitheliotropic intestinal lymphoma (MEITL), 3 extranodal NK-/T-cell lymphoma nasal type (ENKL), 2 PTCL, not otherwise specified, 1 adult T-cell leukemia-lymphoma, 2 ITLPD-GIT}. Three patients each had lesions in the small intestine and multiple lesions, two each in the stomach and colon, and one in the duodenum. Six of the 11 patients remained alive. No perforation/stenosis was observed after chemo-radiotherapy, although one patient with ENKL developed gastric bleeding during chemotherapy. One patient with ITLPD-GIT (CD4 - /CD8 + /Ki67 Low ) with a colonic lesion showing diffuse edema and multiple aphtha by endoscope and diarrhea, initially diagnosed with MEITL, had active but stable disease after various chemotherapies for 1 year and no therapy for the next 5 years. Another patient with ITLPD-GIT (CD4 + /CD8 + /Ki67 Low ) with a localized gastric lesion and slight epigastralgia was in remission for 1 year after radiation. In conclusion, about 10 % of PTCLs were complicated by GI tract lesions and most had a poor prognosis. ITLPD-GIT should be considered as a differential diagnosis based on histology and clinical course. A 74-year-old man was admitted to hospital due to suspected acute leukemia. He had a history of thymic carcinoma, which had been treated with carboplatin in combination with either paclitaxel or amrubicin. However, the tumor remained unresponsive to these treatments. Administration of tegafur/gimeracil/oteracil (TS-1) was initiated, which resulted in tumor size reduction and a partial response. However, leukopenia persisted after the last TS-1 treatment, and four years after the initial treatment, increased blast cell counts were found in a blood film . Bone marrow analysis showed blasts with Auer rods, faggot cells, and dysplastic promyelocytes. Flow cytometry was positive for CD13, CD33, CD34, CD117, and myeloperoxidase, but negative for HLA-DR. PML-RARA fluorescence in situ hybridization was positive. Cytogenetic analysis revealed 47,XY,t (15;17) (q22;q21),+21. Thus, therapy-related acute promyelocytic leukemia (tAPL) was diagnosed. The patient achieved and maintained complete remission for more than 20 months by a de novo APL-treatment regimen including all-trans retinoic acid, arsenic trioxide and tamibarotene. Moreover, the thymic carcinoma has remained stable. Although secondary malignancies of thymic carcinoma have been previously reported, therapy-related leukemia, especially tAPL, is very rare.

Successful treatment of indolent T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder of the gastrointestinal tract (ITLPDGI) by chemotherapy is rare and watchful waiting is often performed for asymptomatic patients. We report a case of ITLPDGI successfully treated by involved field radiotherapy (IFRT). The patient presented with slow ITLPDGI localised to the stomach with mild symptoms. IFRT (30 Gy/20f) was administered, after which endoscopy revealed resolution of lesions and blood vessel appearance, and absence of proliferating abnormal lymphocytes was confirmed by biopsy. The patient remains lymphoma-free 1 year post-treatment. Although long-term follow-up and additional cases are essential for the evaluation of IFRT as a treatment option for localised ITLPDGL, complete remission after relatively low-dose IFRT is promising, particularly as this has been rarely achieved by chemotherapy.

The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of different carbohydrate and lipid (CHO/L) ratios on the performance and energy metabolism of hybrid catfish (♂Pseudoplatystoma corruscans × ♀ Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum). One hundred and sixty-eight fish (104.9±16.5 g BW) were distributed into 24 100-L tanks. The experiment was performed using a randomised block design with four CHO/L ratios (0.45, 1.00, 1.66 and 2.85) and six replications. Growth performance, protein content, glucose and triglycerides in plasma, muscle and liver, and the hepatic activity of the malic and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) enzymes were measured after 60 feeding days. No significant differences were observed in growth performance, protein and triglycerides of plasma and muscle, hepatic protein or malic enzyme activity. CHO/L: 2.85 provided the highest plasma and liver glucose, while CHO/L: 0.45 showed high liver triglycerides. A linear effect was found for the hepatic activity of G6PD and dietary starch levels (R2=0.93). The hepatic activity of G6PD was greater in CHO/L=2.85 than for CHO/L: 0.45. In conclusion, the limit of dietary starch inclusion and lipids were 15% and 9.00%, respectively (CHO/L: 1.66), and this level did not affect the energy metabolism of the juvenile hybrid catfish.
