The new coronavirus (COVID-19), which has spread all over the world, has a great impact on today's social structure and economy. Training and Research Ship “SEISUI MARU” was also affected by this, and it was necessary to take new measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, such as reviewing plans and changing work systems. This paper describes the changes in the operational status of the ship from the beginning of the global epidemic of the new coronavirus to the present, and the changes in various infection prevention measures for the new coronavirus, actually implemented by Mie University and the ship, are listed in chronological order, showing the history of the fight against the new coronavirus.The main prevention of infection measure taken on “SEISUIMARU” was to require the crew and passengers to take care of and record their health condition on a daily basis. The number of passengers on board was limited to seven in order to ensure that crew and passengers were accommodated in private rooms on the voyage. As a result of these prevention of infection measure, we were able to conduct all of the voyage training in 2020. In 2021, we began inoculation of the new coronavirus vaccine, and we will continue to take all necessary prevention of infection measures to ensure the safe operation of the ship.

Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is increasing in prevalence as a causative pathogen of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). However, reports on the clinical features and mortality risk factors for S. aureus CAP are limited. We therefore aimed to identify the clinical characteristics and risk factors for mortality in these patients. We performed a post hoc and multivariate analysis of a multicenter prospective observational study that included adult hospitalized patients with S. aureus CAP. To elucidate the features of S. aureus CAP, we comparatively analyzed pneumococcal CAP (PCAP). We analyzed 196 patients with S. aureus CAP and 198 patients with PCAP. S. aureus CAP had a 30-day mortality of 16% (31/196) and a higher frequency of factors such as advanced age, comorbidities, poor functional ability, altered mental status, hypoalbuminemia, hyponatremia/hypernatremia, acidemia, and hypoxemia. In the multivariate analysis, the significant risk factors for mortality in S. aureus CAP were PaO2/FiO2 ≤250 [adjusted odds ratio (AOR), 3.29; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.20–9.04] and albumin, This is an Open Access article distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License. Preliminary results of the deep-sea faunal survey conducted from the TR/V Seisui-maru of Mie University in April 2019 are presented. A total of 20 taxonomists and ecologists working on a wide variety of animal taxa participated in this survey. Surveyed areas included the Kumano Sea（off Mie Prefecture）and south of the Kii Strait（off Tanabe Bay, Wakayama Prefecture）， at depths of 112－775 m. Sampling gears employed were beam trawl and biological dredge. The collection is represented by macrobenthos and meiobenthos from nine animal phyla, including echinoderms, arthropods, molluscans and annelids. The number of phyla occurring in each station varied from seven to eight. The station with most diverse fauna at the phylum level was St. 3B（south of the Kii Strait, 775－661 m depth, mud bottom）．Meiofauna includes priapulids, nematodes and small arthropods such as copepods, tanaidaceans, amphipods, isopods and cumaceans. In addition to freeliving species, cnidarians symbiotic on a gastropod and an antipatharian, and crustaceans parasitic on a fi sh and sea urchins were also collected. Preliminary identifi cations are given for Asteroidea, Ophiuroidea, Holothuroidea, Crinoidea, Cyclopoida, Siphonostomatoida, Tanaidacea, Isopoda, Decapoda, Mollusca, polychaetes, Bryozoa, Cnidaria and Nemertea.

In addition to free-living species, parasitic crustaceans, platyhelminthes, acanthocephalans, annelids and cnidarians were also collected from fishes, ascidians, urchins, holothurians, crustaceans and polychaetes. Preliminary identifications are given for Ostracoda, Cirripedia, Amphipoda, Decapoda, Asteroidea,Ophiuroidea, Holothuroidea, polychaetes, Echiura, Mollusca and Xenoturbellida., 紀伊水道南方海域および熊野灘の深海底生動物相を明らかにするために，2018年4月三重大学練習船勢水丸のNo.1803研究航海において，ドレッジ及びビームトロール調査を行った。この調査には幅広い動物門を対象とする，三重大学内外の系統分類学と生態学研究者18名が参加した。水深80m から821m の11か所で調査を行い，11の動物門が確認された。最も多様性が高い定点では1か所に100種以上の動物が確認された。節足動物，棘皮動物，環形動物，軟体動物のマクロベントスは大部分の調査定点から採集された。メイオベントスでは，節足動物の貝形虫類，タナイス類，等脚類，クーマ類，ダニ類，そして鰓曳動物が確認された。また自由生活性の生物の他に，甲殻類や多毛類，ナマコ類，ウニ類，ホヤ類，魚類に寄生する節足動物，扁形動物，鉤頭動物，環形動物，刺胞動物が認められた。甲殻類や多毛類，ユムシ類の未記載種や棘皮動物，珍渦虫類の日本初記録種及び海域初記録種が確認された。今後，試料を検討，種同定することにより，さらに確認種数は増加し，生物相が明らかにされるだろう。

背景：学生の時期からクリティカル領域（Critical and Emergency Medicine: CEM）の看護に関心を持つことができればコンピテンシーを認識し，主体的に向上させる素地を育むと推察される．本学科のクリティカルケア看護で取り入れているICU および練習船での演習を通して看護学生が捉えるCEMにおける看護の必要力を明らかにする．方法：授業開始時，ICUでの見学，練習船での1泊2日の体験後に記述したレポートの内容を分析した．結果：対象者6名．CEMにおける看護のコンピテンシーとされる管理的観点，意思決定力，チームワークへの協働，自身の能力を自覚する力に該当する記述があった．ICUでの演習では観察や推察力の鋭敏さを感じ，練習船の演習ではアセスメントへの責任感，安全や協働を維持するために法や規則の遵守および対象の社会文化を理解しながら啓蒙することの重要性，自己統制力の重要性を認識していた．考察：4年生の看護学生は既習の臨地体験を通してコンピテンシーを認識する素地ができている．本科目の演習はその認識を強化する効果が示された．, Undergraduate Nursing Students who were interested in critical care might percept critical care –competency. The program of Critical Care Nursing in school of nursing includes two types of experiences in ICU and in practical ship ‘SEISUIMARU. The aim of this study is to explore necessary abilities perceived by the participants in this program. Six participants perceived whole of competency described: informed about law and rules, decision making, cooperation with multidiscipline, and reflection. The experiences in ICU and in a ship might strengthened perceived abilities in critical care setting for nursing students.

In this study, we had investigated the benthic deep-sea fauna using the dredge and beam trawl in the region from the continental shelf to the continental slope of the Sea of Kumano, Mie Prefecture, during the No．1722 research voyage of the training ship Seisui-Maru of Mie University. The survey was carried out at 16 stations covering a depth range of 113－1059 m. The results of the survey, 14 phyla had been confirmed. Arthropod, echinoderm, annelid and molluscan macrobenthos were collected from all of the stations. The phylum number of each station was in the range from 4 to 11. The largest number of phyla had been confi rmed at St．10D of boulders bottom（768－800 m depth）. Meiobenthos confi rmed in our sample were kinorhynchs, nematodes, tardigrades, loriciferans and small arthropods such as tanaidaceans, copepods and cumaceans. In addition to free-living species, parasitic copepods, isopods, platyhelminthes, acanthocephalans and nematodes had been found in fish, crustaceans and polychaetes.

This symposium, Promotion of joint-use base business by training ship SEISUIMARU and Future Development, was held on December 18, 2015. The purpose of the symposium is to review the past activities of the center, and to examine the future work and improvement. Many students, professors and staff belong to the Faculty of Bioresources, Mie University participated in the symposium. Educational programs were presented by professors of Kyoto University, Kitasato University, Kougakukan University and Mie University. Finally, the prospects for SEISUIMARU were discussed., 本シンポジウムは，I．共同利用の推進，II．拠点化事業のさらなる展開，III．総合討論の三部構成で行われた。はじめに，三重大学大学院生物資源学研究科 梅川逸人 研究科長より開会の挨拶があった。I．共同利用の推進として，勢水丸 中村亨一等航海士より，共同利用拠点事業の概説があり，北里大学海洋生命科学部 中村修 准教授，京都大学総合人間学部 宮下英明 教授から各単独航海の報告が，三重大学大学院生物資源学研究科 立花義裕 教授から勢水丸を利用した共同研究についての報告が行われた。続いて，II．拠点化事業のさらなる展開として，三重大学生物資源学部学生の森田充優君から学生視点での海洋食文化実習航海の報告，皇學館大学文学部 齋藤平 教授によるCOC 事業と海洋食文化実習の関係性についての講演が行われ，三重県農林水産部 永濵享 水産資源課長より，三重県の水産業と行政の役割についての説明が行われた。そして，III．総合討論が行われ，各講演に対する質疑応答，今後の展望，課題についての舌戦が繰り広げられた。最後に勢水丸 前川陽一 船長の言葉をもってシンポジウムを閉会した。
