The ICES Workshop on ICES reference points (WKREF2) was tasked review the WKREF1 report and based on the outcome develop updated guidelines for the ICES reference points system and recommendations for ACOM consideration. The WKREF1 report has suggested 5 key recom- mendations to simplify and harmonise the ICES reference points framework representing a ma- jor change to the current guidelines. At WKREF2, we detailed discussions and four key concerns were raised about the proposed approach. The first related to the simplification of rules to define Blim. Around two thirds of category 1 stocks would end up as WKREF1 “Blim Type 2” where Blim would be set as a fraction of B0. The Allee effect or “depensation” maybe more important than previously thought and should be furthered explored for ICES stocks since it has important consequences for Blim. A number of challenges and issues around defining Blim using the current guidelines were documented. Some suggestions on improvement criteria were discussed including using classifiers to define spas- modic stocks and using change point algorithms to address non-stationary productivity regimes. However, further work is need to make these approaches operational and there was no consen- sus that the WKREF1 Blim types should replace the current guidelines. WKREF1 recommended that the FMSY proxy should be based on a biological proxies and should be less than the deterministic FMSY. It was pointed out that the stochastic FMSY estimated in EqSim for example, is lower than the deterministic FMSY and that the current guidelines ensure that the FMSY should not pose a more than 5% risk to Blim. A large amount of work described in WD 1 was carried out to develop an MSE framework to consistency and robustness test a candidate refer- ence point system for North East Atlantic stocks. However, WKREF2 recommended that further work needs to be carried out to condition and test the simulation framework before the conclu- sions could be adopted by ICES and incorporated into the guidelines. A number of considerations for defining MSY related reference points were discussed including using model validation and prediction skill to ensure that ICES provide robust and credible ad- vice. There is evidence that density dependence (DD) is important in the majority of ICES stocks (68% in recruitment and 54% in growth). The correct prediction of the shape and strength of density-dependence in productivity is key to predicting future stock development and providing the best possible long-term fisheries management advice. A suggested approach to use surplus production models (SPMs) to account for DD in FMSY was suggested and discussed but there was no consensus on whether that approach was appropriate. There was consensus that the FECO approach as a means of adapting target fishing mortality to medium-term changes in productiv- ity should be included in the guidelines subject to a benchmark and ACOM approval. While WKREF1 and 2 focused mainly on Category 1 stocks ToR c) called for a “simplified and harmonised set of guidelines for estimating MSY and precautionary reference points applicable in the advice framework across various ICES stock categories.” Ideally the ICES assessment cat- egories should provide equivalent risk across all stocks. This issue was discussed but no recom- mendations emerged. There was no consensus a revised reference point framework was proposed at WKREF2. How- ever, it was agreed that it should be presented here for further discussion at ACOM and other fora. The key feature of the suggested approach is that the stock status evaluation is treated in- dependent of the Advice Rule (AR). The main feature of the system is that the biomass trigger is not linked to a stock status evaluation, it is linked to the expected biomass when fishing at the target fishing mortality, in contrast to the current ICES approach. It also entailed that FMSY would also become an upper limit of fishing mortality and that the advised fishing mortality would be set at or lower than that level. WKREF2 did not discuss what to do in situations where SSB< Blim or alternative forms of HCR for the advice rule. Building community understanding and con- sensus around simplified and harmonised guidelines has yet to be achieved. A further workshop WKREF3 will be required to achieve that aim. The report includes 6 recommendations for ACOM consideration. ICES The main objective of the workshop was to review the recommendations of WKREF1 and con- sider how these might feed into a new reference points framework and guidelines for ICES. There were a number of presentations on the wider issues of best practice for reference points, the Allee effect, density dependence and the WKIRISH approach. The starting point was to try and develop a set of simplified and harmonised guidelines based on the WKREF1 report rather than evolving the current guidelines to include the WKREF1 conclusions. A key aspect of the meeting was to allow for discussions in order to build a shared understanding of the strengths and weakness of the current framework and of the new framework emerging from WKREF1. Humanity is going through a technological movement never seen before, in which information and communication reach an essential level in people's lives. Among the technological innovations, computer simulations stand out, which can be conceptualized as the construction and operational manipulation of a model, that is, a physical or symbolic representation of aspects of a physical or social process. Computer simulation is applied in health courses to teach clinical techniques and procedures, including various objects: games, anatomical models, mannequins, dolls, case studies, and multimedia presentations. Simulations facilitate the acquisition of skills for patient care, providing the immersion of students in safe interactive environments to develop the health process. In this sense, this article aims to conduct an exploratory and bibliographic study on the use of computer simulation for teaching and learning in health courses, highlighting the main benefits of this technology in colleges in the 21st century. La humanidad atraviesa un movimiento tecnológico nunca antes visto, en el que la información y la comunicación alcanzan un nivel esencial en la vida de las personas. Entre las innovaciones tecnológicas, se destaca como simulaciones computacionales, que pueden conceptualizarse como la construcción y manipulación operativa de un modelo, es decir, una representación física o simbólica de aspectos de un proceso físico y / o social. Se aplica una simulación por computadora en los cursos de salud para enseñar técnicas y procedimientos, incluyendo varios objetos: juegos, modelos anatómicos, maniquíes, títeres, estudios de casos y presentaciones multimedia. Como simulaciones, facilitan la adquisición de habilidades para la atención al paciente, proporcionando a los estudiantes una inmersión en entornos de seguros interactivos para desarrollar el proceso de salud. En este sentido, este artículo tiene como objetivo realizar un estudio exploratorio y bibliográfico sobre el uso de la simulación informática para la enseñanza y el aprendizaje en los cursos de salud, destacando los principales beneficios de esta tecnología en las universidades del siglo XXI. Dentre as inovações tecnológicas, destaca-se as simulações computacionais, no qual pode ser conceituada como a construção e manipulação operacional de um modelo, ou seja, uma representação física ou simbólica de aspectos de um processo físico e ou social. A simulação computacional é aplicada nos cursos de saúde no ensino de técnicas e procedimentos clínicos, incluindo diversos objetos: jogos, modelos anatômicos, manequins, bonecos, estudos de casos e apresentações de multimídia. As simulações facilitam a aquisição de habilidades para os cuidados aos pacientes, propiciando a imersão dos estudantes em ambientes interativos seguros para desenvolver o processo de saúde. Neste sentido, o presente artigo tem como objetivo realizar um estudo exploratório e de caráter bibliográfico sobre o uso da simulação computacional para ensino e aprendizagem nos cursos de saúde, evidenciando os principais benefícios dessa tecnologia em faculdades no século XXI.

We start from the previous condition that the act resulting in the gesture of “making history” is mediated by its own productional techniques, organized according to the inherent aspects of a specific place and time. Depending on this place, methods are established, delineated interests and proposals are organized. And the time to be alluded here is that which occurs during the second half of the nineteenth century, a period that witnessed the "birth" of the historiography of Ceará, as defined by José Honório Rodrigues, and which will have with the foundation of the Instituto do Ceará in 1887 , the consolidation of a phase of "maturing" and of continuous and systematic historical research. And in the face of this juncture, from "birth" to "maturing", a considerable path was taken, in which the boundaries between literature and history, which were not yet clearly established, were defined, something that was made in the historical institution erected in 1887 like a shaping and authorizing condition. All this dynamic constituted the historical culture that was lived in this period, a dynamic culture, under construction and with constant re-significances. Thus, what we propose throughout the present text is to follow this path, seeking to perceive the actors inserted and acting in the context of this historical culture, in which the present and past relations, and the direct result of it, that is , the gesture of writing history, are constantly being discussed. And even in the face of diverse opinions and postures, of multiple paths, the trail traveled will always lead to the same place, since the writing (of history) poses something other than itself, namely the reality to which it refers. Partimos do pressuposto que o ato que redunda no gesto de “fazer história” é mediatizado por técnicas próprias de produção, organizadas conforme os aspectos inerentes a um lugar e a um tempo específicos. Em função desse lugar, métodos são instaurados, interesses delineados e as propostas se organizam. E o tempo a ser aludido aqui é aquele que transcorre ao longo da segunda metade do século XIX, período que presenciou o “nascimento” da historiografia cearense, como define José Honório Rodrigues, e que terá com a fundação do Instituto do Ceará, em 1887, a consolidação de uma fase de “amadurecimento” e de contínua e sistemática pesquisa histórica. E diante desse cenário, do “nascimento” ao “amadurecimento”, um considerável caminho se fez percorrer, no qual as fronteiras entre literatura e história, que ainda não se viam claramente estabelecidas, foram sendo definidas, definição esta que teve na instituição histórica erigida em 1887 um papel conformador e autorizador. Toda essa dinâmica compunha a cultura histórica que se vivenciava nesse período, uma cultura dinâmica, em construção e com constantes ressignificações. Sendo assim, o que nos propomos ao longo do presente texto é enveredar por esse caminho decorrido, buscando perceber os atores inseridos e atuantes no contexto dessa cultura histórica, em que as relações do presente com o passado, e o resultante direto disso, qual seja, o próprio gesto de se escrever a história, se fazem continuamente em discussão. E mesmo diante de opiniões e posturas diversas, de caminhos múltiplos, o trajeto percorrido levará sempre ao mesmo lugar, tendo em vista que a escrita (da história) coloca outra coisa que não ela mesma, a saber, a realidade à qual se refere.

The use of microorganisms aiming to improve the availability of nutrients for plants is an important and necessary practice for agriculture. Thus, studies on the AMF occurrence in northeastern Brazil and efficiency tests using native plants in the region have been intensified in recent decades. Aiming determine the most probable number (MPN) of infective propagules in the area with native vegetation in the semi-arid region of Pernambuco, municipality of Sertânia, and quantify the soil protein related to easily extractable glomalin (SPREEG) and to total glomalin (SPRTG), experiments were conducted in a greenhouse. For this study 10 composite soil samples were collected, with points randomly defined. Samples were homogenized and analyzed for physical and chemical characteristics. Being used for immediate examination and preparation trap cultures (one three-month cycle of propagation) to AMF, using as host plants sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench), and peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.). For determining the MPN of infective propagules of AMF in Haplic Luvisols, soil inoculum samples were diluted in the proportions of 0, 1:10, 1: 100 and 1: 1000 (soil inoculum: diluent soil, v: v) with 5 repetitions each, having maize (Zea mays L.) as host plant. The direct count (DC) differed significantly from the indirect (IC) of AMF with averages of 961.3 and 517.4 glomerospores per 100g soil, respectively. The NMP of infective propagules of AMF propagules found was 23 cm-3 and SPREEG and SPRTG were approximately 0.46 and 0.26 mg glomalin g-1 aggregate, respectively. The use of microorganisms to improve the availability of nutrients to plants is of great importance to agriculture. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of triple inoculation of cowpea with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) and rhizobia to maximize biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) and promote plant growth. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse using cowpea plants (Vigna unguiculata L. Walp cv. IPA 206). The treatments included inoculation with strains of Bradyrhizobium sp. (BR 3267 and EI - 6) individually and as a mixture, an absolute control (AC) and mineral nitrogen control (NC), all combined with the presence or absence of native AMF (Glomus etunicatum) and PGPB (Paenibacillus brasilensis - 24) in a 5x2x2 factorial design. All treatments were replicated three times. Contrasts were performed to study the treatment of variables. Inoculation with Bradyrhizobium sp. (BR 3267 and EI - 6) and G. etunicatum favored nitrogen acquisition and phosphorus availability for the cowpea plants. Inoculation with P. brasilensis - 24 increased colonization by Bradyrhizobium sp. and G. etunicatum and promoted cowpea growth, while the nitrogen from symbiosis was sufficient to supply the plants nutritional needs.

Organizations are adopting industrial production models with priority given to reducing costs and increasing the quality of their processes and products. Optimizing and rationalization the inventory management is a great opportunity for these companies conquer these goals. The objective of this paper is to analyze inventory management at two printing companies located in the region of Bauru, where one adopts the Engineering-To-Order (ETO) production system and the other the Make-To-Stock (MTS) production system, highlighting their convergences and oppositions. For their achievement was chosen by the methodology of study of multiple cases (two cases). Data were collected through the intersection of the following tools: semi-structure, document analysis and observation in loco. Revisions are made in theoretical work on the following topics: logistics, management of materials and production planning and control. These themes guided the search, allowing a greatest criticism about the collected data and information generated. The two case studies were presented together with a comparative table of the main aspects of the influence of demand management strategy on the inventory management in two companies. Although the companies adopt different production strategies, there was no significant change observed in inventory management strategy.

A modernidade teria a capacidade de construir uma nova ordem, desvencilhada de todas as anteriores. Porém, tal ordem, analisada sob a ótica da superposição de olhares diversos e divergentes, nos remeteriam a uma realidade múltipla, que através de suas representações, constituiriam o imaginário na cidade de Fortaleza entre o final do século XIX e o início do século XX. Buscamos, então, discutir no presente artigo aspectos relacionados à transformação e à construção de uma cidade, desejada moderna por alguns, mas vivida de modo distinto por outros.

O critério de performance usado admite que os parâmetros do sistema e suas respectivas taxas de variação sejam confinadas numa região convexa. Sob estas considerações obtém-se LMIs que apresentam condições suficientes destinadas aos casos de análise e síntese de sistemas LPV onde um critério de performance ¥ é otimizado.

This paper deals with the problem of ¥ performance for LPV systems. The ¥ performance index is based on a parameter dependent Lyapunov function with quadratic dependence on the parameters as well as on the system state. This stability notion is appropriate to deal with real parameters with magnitude and rate of change which are confined to a given convex region. Sufficient conditions based on LMI are developed for the ¥ performance analysis of LPV systems and designs of LPV controllers with guaranteed ¥ performance.

The data were analyzed by least squares method, with models that included the fixed effects of genetic group of sire (5/8 Charolais + 3/8 Zebu and Canchim), year and season of birth of calf, sex of calf and age of cow at calving, and the random effects of sire within genetic group. All effects included in the models affected significantly all traits studied, except year of birth that affected only BW, and season of birth that did not affect BW. The heritability estimates obtained were equal to 0.76 ± 0.18 (BW), 0.43 ± 0.15 (WW) and 0.37 ± 0.14 (ADG). The genetic correlations were 0.60 ± 0.17 (BW and WW), 0.38 ± 0.23 (BW and ADG) and 0.97 ± 0.02 (WW and ADG). The phenotypic and environmental correlations were, inthe same order, 0.36 and 0.09, 0.17 and -0.06 and 0.98 and 0.99, respectively. The results obtained suggest that selection should result in genetic progress for all traits studied, but mainly for BW. Selection for ADG should result in progress for WW with little changes in BW.
