Our cities gain from recreational parks' fundamental environmental, aesthetic, and recreational benefits. They also bring great economic benefits to any country. The purpose of this research is to assess Citizens' views on the state of three recreational parks and landscaping in Akure, Ondo State. The study aims to evaluate three recreational parks and landscaping in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria, their properties, their impact on users, and the contribution of recreational landscapes to societal development and revenue generation. This paper also suggests better ways to maintain these recreational parks. Gardens with a broad assortment of trees and other plants are a significant recreational feature in developing countries like Nigeria. Urban and recreational facilities have been seen as a tool to improve living conditions in Ondo State. One of the most difficult aspects of maintaining recreational parks is balancing the needs of different user groups, such as those seeking solitude and those seeking raucous play and picnicking. Parks and recreation are typically the "engine" of local tourism. In a simplified tourism model, people leave their homes and travel to attractions supported by services such as hotels/motels, restaurants, and commerce.

The demand for the improvement in the electoral process in Nigeria is premised on the view that it would reduce the manipulation of the system and make the votes count. The improvement is also to expand the scope of participation and inspire confidence that will ultimately make elections credible and ensure that government is accountable to the people. This paper, drawing largely from documented sources, examined the degree of the adoption of digital government in the management of the electoral process. The paper also identified implications for election credibility in Nigeria. The paper equally examined the various kinds of information and communication technologies deployed by the electoral management bodies in Nigeria and how these have impacted the conduct of elections. The paper concluded that, though there is a visible improvement in the electoral process in the country, there is a need for more investment in infrastructure to enhance digital government on the electoral process. The paper examined the polemic between the advocates of democracy, development and dictatorship. It exposed the philosophical foundation of democracy, development and maintained that democratic principles could facilitate development within the African continent. This argument is supported by the claim that the process and outcome of democratic practice are likely to bring about development aimed at improving the living standard of citizens in the society. The paper further maintained that the likely way by which democracy can be seen to be worthwhile is when it is geared towards societal development. Finally, the paper affirmed that since the two concepts of democracy and development are like the Siamese twins set to better the wellbeing of citizens, then the way out of Africa's present crisis of development is to embrace democracy and its principles in practice properly. It concluded that only when a deliberate attempt is made at the practice of proper democratic principles with all sense of purpose that sustainable development can be attained on the continent of Africa. Background: Women that are not in good health cannot contribute to sustainable development but effective coping during and after sickness could enhance their contributions to development. Objective: The study examined the coping strategies among women with cervical cancer in different marital context in Nigeria Methods: In-depth interview from eight women survivors and patients of cervical cancer in two distinct marital contexts characterised by the presence or absence of husband from two states of Nigeria. Data were analysed using content analytic procedures and premised upon relationship-focused coping strategy theory. Results: The study identified basic coping strategies as seeking support from religious organisations and adjustment of sexual lifestyle. Conclusion: The study concluded that women's coping strategies on cervical cancer varied according to marital context. The authors recommend counselling, increasing cervical cancer risk awareness and husband-wife support, especially during life-threatening sicknesses to engender quick recovery and improved well-being for sustaining women contributions to development.
