The collapse of the “Eastern Bloc” and the breakdown of the Soviet Union in the late 1980’s – early 1990’s led to dramatic political and economic changes in Eastern European countries. Reduction of crop area, changes in the forest legislation, land privatization, markets change and other social and economic factors have caused changes in forested area within these countries. Statistical data on forest extent provided by the countries are not always comparable due to the use of different methods and definitions. Long-term archive of Landsat satellite data allows independent evaluation of the extent and change of forest area. We have developed an algorithm for the automatic processing of images obtained by different sensors (TM and ETM+) and compilation of a consistent image time series to map the total forest area, its loss and gain. The algorithm was used to estimate the forest area change in Eastern Europe from 1985 to 2012. The results showed that the forested area increased by 4,7 % in 2012 compared to 1985. The average annual forest loss was 0,41 % of the total forest area, and disturbance area increased from 1985 to 2012. Forest cover is quickly restored after the disturbance, and only 12 % of forest disturbance area occurred before 1995 was not recovered by 2012. The main factor of the forest disturbance was timber harvesting. The annual logging area declined after the collapse of the planned economy in the late 80’s, increased by the year 2000, and then decreased again due to the economic crisis of 2007–2009. Background: Circulatory support with a catheter-based microaxial flow pump (mAFP) plays a major role in the treatment of severe cardiogenic shock. In most patients who fail to recover while on temporary mechanical circulatory support (tMCS) and who are not eligible for heart transplantation, durable left ventricular assist device (dLVAD) implantation is usually considered a reliable option. This study aimed to describe the outcome of dLVAD therapy following mAFP support and to identify predictors of mortality. Methods: This was a retrospective analysis of data from a multicenter registry on patients who underwent dLVAD implantation following tMCS with a mAFP between January 2017 and October 2022 (n = 332) from 19 European centers. Results: Patients were supported with an Impella 5.5 (n = 92), 5.0 (n = 153) or CP (n = 87) and were transitioned to a HeartWare HVAD (n = 128) or Heartmate 3 (n = 204) during the same period. One hundred and twenty-five patients (39.2%) also required extracorporeal life support before and/or during mAFP therapy. The 30-day and 1-year survival were 87.8% and 71.1%, respectively. The following risk factors for 1-year mortality were identified: age (odds ratio [OR], 1.02), specifically age over 55 years (OR, 1.09), body mass index >30 kg/m2 (OR, 2.2), female sex (OR for male sex, 0.43), elevated total bilirubin (OR, 1.12), and low platelet count (OR, 0.996). Conclusions: Based on the identified risk factors, a risk score for estimating 1-year mortality was calculated to optimize patient selection for dLVAD implantation.

Abstract The direct C–H activation of inert C(sp3)–H bonds in a hydrocarbon chain has been a very attractive target in organic synthesis for many decades. Among all the variety of processes, those driven by vinyl carbocations are quite scarce thus far, and it is hard to control for unstabilized vinyl cations. In this study, we designed a double C(sp3)–H functionalization of unactivated alkyl CH2 groups to produce a totally substituted quaternary carbon stereocenter via insertion of vinyl carbocations. These processes represent complicated reaction cascades with high molecular complexity controlled by the cooperative action of Ga(III) salts & GaHal4 – anions and allow one-step deep poly-functionalization of simple CH substrates to be performed. In practice, this concept was initially implemented with simple starting compounds such as alkyl acetylenes and activated cyclopropanes, alkenes, or cyclobutanes to construct norbornane, cyclopentatetralin, and other important skeletons.

Purpose: to assess the reaction of multipolar retinal neurons to light irradiation depending on the intensity and duration of exposure. Material and methods. Outbred sexually mature white rats (n = 50, 100 eyes) weighing 180–200 g were exposed to continuous round-the-clock light (200, 3,500 lux; 1, 2, 7, 14, 30 days). The control group consisted of 25 non-irradiated animals (50 eyes). Using semifine sections, colored with toluidine blue, we counted the number of neurons in the ganglionic layer with karyopyknosis, focal and total chromatolysis. In the optic nerve, the percentage of degeneratively altered axons and the number of nerve fibers with deformation of the myelin sheath were calculated. Ultrastructural changes in neurons were studied using a JEM-100 CX-II electron microscope. Results. In the first days of the experiment (1, 2 days), reactive and destructive changes in organelles are observed in the perikaryons of multipolar retinal neurons. The granular endoplasmic reticulum becomes fragmented, loses part of its ribosomes, and vacuoles of varied sizes are formed from its cisterns. With an increase in the duration of exposure (7–30 days), degradation processes are increasing, all the more so after high-intensity (3,500 lux) light irradiation. The photodamage causes changes in all components of the optic nerve and is characterized by a destruction of organelles, a decrease in the number of elements of the cytoskeleton in the axon, and myelin sheath splitting. Conclusion. Changes in multipolar neurons of the retina after photodamage are primarily related to the content and distribution of the chromatophilic substance and depend on the intensity and duration of illumination.

The objective of the study is to show the significant impact of taking into account the actual values of residual stresses on the strength and resource of safe operation of nuclear power facilities. Generally accepted approaches of strength physics and fracture mechanics were used to determine strength and service life. The degree of influence of residual stresses on the strength and service life of pipeline elements in the case of a cyclically acting load, under static load, when there is a danger of brittle fracture, and in the case of corrosion is investigated. The objects of the study were pipelines of nuclear power plants. It is noted that the current state of science and technology has made it possible to create a technique for non-destructive testing of mechanical stresses acting in metal structures based on the use of the acoustoelasticity method. Currently, on the basis of this method, a method for measuring residual welding and installation stresses in pipelines has been developed and certified for use in the field of atomic energy use. The measurement technique provides for the determination of membrane and bending stresses in annular sections located on rectilinear sections of pipelines. The values of stresses in the structural elements of pipelines and residual welding stresses in the deposited metal of welded joints are determined using ratios based on the use of the balancing principle. The relevance of introducing into the procedure for monitoring the technical condition of pipelines and equipment of nuclear power plants the procedure for determining the actual level of residual stresses, which significantly increases the reliability of the assessment of their strength and service life, is shown. It is proved that in order to implement the procedure for determining the actual level of residual stresses, it is necessary to use a non-destructive testing system for residual welding and installation stresses using the acoustoelasticity method based on a measurement technique that allows determining the actual values of residual stresses with established error characteristics.

Geophysical observations of the structure of glacial-permafrost rock formations (hereinafter referred to as GPRF), common in the Central Altai in the valleys of the Chuya, Dzhelo, Elangash and Akkol rivers, were carried out by way of electrical resistivity tomography using the multi-electrode electro-prospecting station “Skala-48”. The main objective of the research was to identify the features of the internal structure of GPRF basing on the data of electrical sounding and aerial photography. The application of the geophysical method made it possible to localize rock-ice cores within the GPRF. Analysis of the geoelectrical crosssections allowed finding that the rock-ice cores were characterized by high values of specific electrical resistance (SER) – from 10 to 100 kOhm × m and more. The depths of occurrence of rock-ice material on the geoelectrical sections varied from 2 to 10 m, on the average. Using the data of the aerial photography carried out above the studied areas, three-dimensional geoelectric models and maps of the distribution of SER were built for different depths. When analyzing the three-dimensional model of the GPRF, it is clearly noticeable that the features of the nature of the SER distribution reflects the inhomogeneous distribution of ice within the rock-ice core of the GPRF. As a result of our studies performed by the method of electrical tomography and interpretation of a three-dimensional geoelectric model, it was estimated that thicknesses of the rock-ice material varied from 7 to 32 m, thawing niches were revealed and localized, and the potential volume of the rock-ice core was determined. Thus, the above mentioned geophysical and geomorphological studies in that the features of the internal structure of GPRF in key areas have been established. For each GPRF, the thicknesses, resistivity, and depth of occurrence of rock-ice cores were determined, and the dependence of the morphological structure of the GPRF surface on internal structure of them was analyzed. A preliminary assessment of water reserves in individual GPRF had also been made.

Abstract Objectives Cardiogenic shock (CS) can occur in patients with Takotsubo syndrome (TTS). As TTS has received increasing attention and has been more closely researched, several aspects of the pathogenesis have been identified, particularly that an excessive release of catecholamines plays an important role. Nevertheless, evidence on specific therapy concepts is still lacking. As a result, TTS with severe hemodynamic instability and low cardiac output creates unique challenges, and mechanical circulatory support is needed with as few inotropic drugs as possible. Methods We present a 77-year-old female patient who underwent minimally invasive surgical mitral valve replacement. After an uneventful course, the patient developed acute heart failure eleven days after surgery. Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) revealed a new onset of TTS. The patient needed left ventricular venting and full haemodynamic flow. We successfully implanted a microaxial left ventricular assist device (Impella 5.5) using the transaxillary approach. The haemodynamic situation stabilised immediately. The patient was weaned and the Impella 5.5 was explanted after five days. Conclusion We present the first-in-man implantation of a transaxillary Impella 5.5 in a patient with TTS. The patient benefitted from Impella 5.5 therapy with full haemodynamic support and venting of the left ventricle.

Background. Insight into blood viscosity in terms of its physical and biochemical properties carries significant clinical value. By understanding the relationship between the physical properties of blood and physiology, a potentially powerful tool for diagnosing early signs of many diseases can be discovered. Purpose. To identify the effect of fibrinogen on tensio- and rheometric characteristics of blood plasma and serum in patients with coronary heart disease and with mitral and/or aortic valve disease. Materials and methods. Prospective non-randomized study. The study of dynamic, equilibrium surface tension and viscoelastic modulus was performed by the pendant drop method using a PAT-1 device (Sinterface Technologies, Germany). We measured parameters characterizing the surface tension and dilatation rheology of blood serum such as: dynamic surface tension at an adsorption time of 100 s (γ), equilibrium surface tension (γ ∞) (adsorption time 2500 s), viscoelastic modulus |E|, and phase angle (φ) at frequencies of 0.1 and 0.01 Hz. All patients under study were divided into 3 groups. The healthy volunteers (30 subjects) without chronic diseases and active complaints aged 49 to 78 years (mean age, 61.1±1.1 years) comprised the comparison group (group 1). Group 2 - 40 patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) aged 49 to 77 years (mean age 62.2±1.3 years) who underwent bypass surgery to treat atherosclerotic coronary vessels (2 to 5 bypasses). Group 3 - 30 patients with cardiac mitral and/or aortic valve lesions aged 52 to 78 years (mean age 61.3±1.2 years). They underwent mitral and/or aortic valve replacement with mechanical prostheses. The most common pathophysiological syndrome in patients due to coronary artery or heart valve lesions was chronic heart failure (CHF) (stage 2A-2B according to Vasilenko-Strazhesko classification). Results. Characteristic γ100s of blood serum and plasma had significant difference in both patients’ groups, possibly due to the role of coagulation and anti-coagulation system proteins’ role in dynamic surface tension of plasma in a shorter timeframe (up to 100 s.). The increase in Δγ100s in both patients’ groups by day 7 of the postoperative period indicates an increasing dynamic surface tension of serum compared to plasma. Plasma of perioperative patients does not differ from the comparison group by its surface-equilibrium properties. Accordingly, the Δγ∞s values in groups 1 and 2 both before surgery and on days 1 and 7 of the postoperative period are almost identical, pointing to no difference in the amount of surfactants tending to adsorb on the droplet surface. Alterations of viscoelastic modulus |E| and phase angle (φ) at 0.1 and 0.01 Hz in the perioperative period indicate changes in qualitative and quantitative characteristics of circulating blood with variation in individual homeostasis characteristics, resulting in an increase in surface elasticity combined with an almost unchanged surface viscosity. Conclusion. Dynamic and equilibrium surface tension parameters in patients’ plasma differ from those in serum due to the presence of fibrinogen and other proteins of the blood coagulation system.

Aim. To evaluate the left ventricular longitudinal strain in patients with arrhythmia and undifferentiated connective tissue disease (UCTD).Material and methods. This cross-sectional comparative study included young patients with arrhythmia and UCTD (43 men and 84 women; mean age, 30,82±8,17 years (group 1, n=127)). The control group included volunteers with single phenotypic characteristics of UCTD, comparable in age and sex (9 men and 21 women, mean age, 34,13±6,87 years (group 2, n=30)). A standard clinical examination, 72-hour electrocardiographic monitoring, and speckle-tracking echocardiography were performed.Results. Patients of group 1 were characterized by lower global systolic longitudinal myocardial strain compared to the control group: -22,96% [-24,56%;-21,50%] in group 1 vs -24,73% [-25,25%; -23,84%] in group 2 (p=0,016). A local decrease in longitudinal myocardial strain (in two or more segments) was noted in 62,2% of patients in group 1 and 13,3% of patients in group 2 (p=0,025). In group 1, a relationship was revealed between class I premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) and a longitudinal strain decrease in the medial anterior (r1=0,253, p=0,004) and apical anterior (r1=0,253, p=0,004) segments, as well as between class V PVCs and strain decrease in the basal lower (r1=0,215, p=0,021) and middle anterior (r1=0,211, p=0,023) segments. In addition, there was a moderate correlation between mitral valve prolapse (MVP) and a decrease in longitudinal systolic strain in the basal inferolateral (r1=0,405, p=0,041) and basal anterior (r1=0,519, p=0,003) segments.Conclusion. Local decrease in left ventricular longitudinal systolic strain in association with arrhythmia and MVP in patients with UCTD makes it possible to recommend speckle-tracking echocardiography for early non-invasive assessment of myocardial remodeling in this cohort of patients.

Aim. To study the relationship between the level of N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and myocardial abnormalities in patients with cardiac arrhythmias due to undifferentiated connective tissue disease (UCTD).Material and methods. This cross-sectional comparative study included young and middle-aged patients with arrhythmias due to UCTD: group 1 (18-44 years old, n=127), group 3 (45-59 years old, n=10). The control groups (n=30, group 2; n=8, group 4) included volunteers with single phenotypic signs of UCTD, comparable in age and sex. A standard clinical examination, 72-hour electrocardiographic monitoring, Speckletracking echocardiography, and NT-proBNP level assessment were performed.Results. In patients of groups 1 and 3, a significant increase in the concentration of NT-proBNP was noted compared to the control groups. At the same time, the average NT-proBNP level in the study groups did not exceed the reference values. Significant correlations were revealed between NT-proBNP and heart rate (r1=0,462, p=0,010; r3=0,397, p=0,034), UCTD diagnostic cut-off level (r1=0,496, p=0,001; r3=0,401, p=0,043), the presence of mitral valve prolapse (r1=0,469, p=0,002) and mitral regurgitation (r1=0,53, p=0,008), premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) of class III (r1=0,582, p=0,045), IVa (r1= 0,39, p=0,042) and V (r1=0,397, p=0,037); cardiac index (r1=-0,329, p=0,037) and ejection fraction (r1=-0,407, p=0,044). However, no significant correlation was found between the left ventricular global longitudinal strain and NT-proBNP level.Conclusion. The study demonstrated the association of NT-proBNP level with UCTD diagnostic cut-off level, mitral valve prolapse, mitral regurgitation, and PVCs, which makes possible the use of this biomarker as an additional diagnostic criterion for myocardial changes in against the background of UCTD.

Aim. To study the effect of a high-fat, high-carbohydrate diet on retinal morphology of young and old rats in the experiment.Materials and methods. The study was carried out on male Wistar rats aged 60 and 450 days at the beginning of the experiment. The animals were divided into 4 groups: group 1 (n = 14) included intact rats aged 150 days at the end of the experiment; group 2 (n = 14) encompassed rats (60 days old) fed with a high-fat, high-carbohydrate diet (HFHCD) for 90 days; group 3 (n = 14) included intact rats (450 days old) receiving a standard diet for 90 days; group 4 (n = 14) included rats (450 days old) fed with HFHCD for 90 days. Immunoassay and histology were used in the work.Results. HFHCD resulted in an increase in glucose concentration in animals of both age groups. In old animals, it caused a pronounced increase in the content of insulin, TGFβ, and fibronectin in the blood serum, neovascularization of outer retinal layers, as well as karyopyknosis and death of neurosensory cells, leading to destruction of photoreceptors and drastic thinning of the outer nuclear and outer plexiform layers. In young rats fed with HFHCD, no pronounced histologic disorders of the retina were noted.Conclusion. HFHCD enhances age-related retinal changes in old (450-day-old) rats.

Aim. To perform a scintigraphic assessment of the bronchopulmonary system and pulmonary microcirculation in patients with connective tissue dysplasia.Materials and methods. The study included 31 male patients of conscription age with connective tissue dysplasia (CTD), diagnosed according to the 2019 clinical guidelines (average age (19.6 ± 2.6 years)), and 25 practically healthy individuals comparable in gender and age, who formed a control group. All patients underwent planar pulmonary ventilation – perfusion scintigraphy with determination of pulmonary alveolar – capillary permeability.Results. In patients with CTD, the apical to basal perfusion gradient (U/LQ) was on average 24% lower than in the control group (p = 0.046), and alveolar – capillary permeability was higher in both lungs, both at minute 10 and at minute 30.Conclusion. Static pulmonary ventilation – perfusion scintigraphy allows to identify functional disorders in patients with CTD at the preclinical stage: a decrease in the perfusion gradient on average by 24% compared with the control group and an increase in alveolar – capillary membrane permeability.

Introduction According to domestic and foreign studies, in the last decade there has been an increase in the number of HIV-infected patients suffering from alcoholic disease. Under the influence of alcohol, the risk of infection and transmission of HIV infection increases, the course of the disease worsens. There is a syndemia between alcohol abuse and HIV infection. This requires new approaches to the tactics of managing patients of a narcological hospital with HIV infection. Objectives To identify the prevalence of HIV infection in patients of the substance use treatment facility suffering from alcohol disease of the second stage. Methods The authors analyzed 446 medical histories of patients suffering from alcoholic disease who underwent inpatient treatment in 2009-2021. For data processing, a statistical method for calculating relative indicators used. Results The study showed that a significant proportion of patients with HIV infection were patients of working age 40-59 years. At the same time, since 2009, there has been an increase in HIV-infected patients from the total number of hospital patients. So, if in 2009 they were 1.2%, then in 2021 they were already 7.2%. Most HIV-infected patients of the narcological hospital are single or divorced. The study notes that abuse is common among patients with HIV infection as a means of combating depression. According to 2019 data, 39.0% of hospital patients suffer from depression. The authors show that alcohol affects the increase in risky forms of sexual relations, or risky situations with unprotected sex. In addition, with alcohol abuse, the viral load increases, and therefore the likelihood of transmitting HIV infection to a partner with unprotected sex increases. Conclusions Alcohol abuse is a causative factor in HIV infection. Early detection of people with harmful alcohol consumption and referral to a psychiatrist will increase adherence to antiretroviral therapy, as well as reduce the rate of HIV infection Disclosure of Interest None Declared

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is one of the most common diseases in the group of interstitial lung diseases, which is characterized by persistent progression and poor prognosis. Over the past decade, experts have made significant progress in developing a diagnostic algorithm for IPF patients. This algorithm includes analysis of clinical, laboratory, and instrumental data, primarily the results of high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT). Precise adherence to the diagnostic algorithm and correct interpretation of HRCT data are prerequisites for IPF diagnosis.Specialists of the Tomsk region have developed routing of patients with suspected IPF. The presented clinical case is a successful example of adhering to this algorithm. Wide implementation of modern diagnostic algorithms into diagnosis and treatment of IPF and quality improvement of imaging methods, primarily HRCT, carried out as a part of the differential diagnosis, open up prospects for early diagnosis of this pathology. A timely prescribed antifibrotic therapy (nintedanib, pirfenidone) in IPF allows to slow down pathological progression and improves the prognosis.

This paper is devoted to solving an important task of the food industry - the rational use of food raw materials, including gelling agents of various origins. The innovative strategy of this study is based on the possibility of using gelatin and modified potato or pea starch, as a cheap ingredient in the production of gel semi-finished products and confectionery based on traditional, but expensive raw materials such as agar and agar from Furcellaria - furcelaran. Food gelatin (Ukraine), agar (Germany), furcelaran (Estonia), modified potato starch OPV-1 (Ukraine), modified potato starch Farinex VA-40 (Netherlands), modified pea starch Emden ESH-15 (Germany) were used in the work. The experimental study has been performed concerning the strength of gel-forming heterogeneous systems ‘gelatin - MS - agar – water’ and ‘gelatin - MS - fercellaran – water’, and homogeneous systems: ‘agar - water’, ‘fursalaran - water’, ‘gelatin – water’. Mathematical models have been obtained that relate the strength of the investigated gel-forming systems to the mass concentration of their components. The equation has been obtained that allows calculating the mass concentration of the components of the studied gel-forming compositions with the given level of strength of systems. It is shown that for a given level of strength of a heterogeneous gel-forming system there is an optimal concentration of its components in terms of the least full cost of the system. The equation that allows to calculate the optimal concentration of components of a heterogeneous gel-forming system has been obtained. The adequate mathematical model for forecasting the strength of modelling systems of gel-forming, depending on the mass concentration of components is obtained. It is envisaged to formulate the initial requirements for the parameters of gel-forming, which will allow obtaining an integral elastic structure at optimum duration of the technological process, by modelling the systems of gel-forming, as a technological system, within the framework of the functioning of individual subsystems (the creation of prescription concentrations and ratios of gel-forming agents). The obtained mathematical models can be used for the analysis of other heterogeneous gel-forming compositions in the presence of the data on the strength of such systems depending on the concentration of components.

The article analyzes the problem of using digital technologies and the online space within the framework of labor law, based not only existing regulatory legal acts but also legislative drafts in the field of the digitalization of labor relations. Therewithal, the purpose of the study is to generalize current and future Russian legislation, to manifest the contradictions and gaps in the legislation, to evaluate laws and regulations from a practical point of view, and to elaborate proposals for their improvement. For this purpose, the authors take into account the existing experience gained in the course of experiments on the introduction of electronic document management by individual employers. The achievement of the research goals is ensured by the use of the formal legal method. First of all, the article draws attention to the tendency of expanding the differentiation of the labor regulation, caused by many factors, including the informatization of all social relations. It is concluded that the transition to an innovative, socially-oriented economy is impossible without a flexible labor market with new areas of employment, including employment through the use of information technology resources. Analyzing the practical aspects of electronic workflow, the article covers the theoretical aspect of the existence of the so-called “information legal relationship” in the subject of labor law. The analysis of the legislative drafts and the current legislation focuses on controversial wording and emphasizes that their incorrectness creates high risks of labor disputes. The authors insist that when introducing an electronic workflow, the parties should be provided with an alternative to the actions. The authors defend the view that it is necessary to clarify the scope of information transmitted by the employer to the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation when maintaining electronic employment record books with regard to the inclusion of information about employee awards in them. They also propose determining the procedures of the formation of human resources services in the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. As a final point, it is concluded that all the proposed initiatives are aimed at ensuring the tasks of the state for the introduction of digital technologies in all areas of social life, including in labor relations, and, ultimately, at achieving the optimal balance between the interests of the parties of the labor relations and the interests of the state, which is the main goal of labor legislation.

The Salair fold-nappe terrane (a.k.a. Salair orogen, Salair) is the northwestern part of the Altai-Sayan folded area of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt. It is composed of Cambrian – Early Ordovician volcanic rocks and island-arc sedimentary deposits. In plan, Salair is a horseshoe-shaped structure with the northeast-facing convex side, which is formed by the outcrops of the Early Paleozoic folded basement. Its inner part is the Khmelev basin composed of Upper Devonian – Lower Carboniferous sandstones and siltstones. The Early Paleozoic volcanic rocks and sediments of Salair are overthrusted onto the Devonian-Permian sediments of the Kuznetsk basin. The Paleozoic thrusts, that were reactivated at the neotectonic stage, are observed in the modern relief as tectonic steps. Our study of the Salair deep structure was based on the data from two profiles of magnetotelluric sounding. These 175-km and 125-km long profiles go across the strike of the Salair structure and the western part of the Kuznetsk basin. Profile 1 detects a subhorizontal zone of increased conductivity (100–500 Ohm·m) at the depths of 8–15 km. At the eastern part of Profile 1, this zone gently continues upward, towards a shallow conducting zone that corresponds to the sediments of the Kuznetsk basin. Two high-resistance bodies (1000–7000 Ohm⋅m) are detected at the depths of 0–6 km in the middle of the section. They are separated by a subvertical conducting zone corresponding to the Kinterep thrust. The main features are the subhorizontal positions and the flattened forms of crustal conductivity anomalies. At the central part of Profile 2, there is a high-resistance block (above 150000 Ohm⋅m) over the entire depth range of the section, from the surface to the depths of about 20 km. In the eastern part of Profile 2, a shallow zone of increased conductivity corresponds to the sediments of the Kuznetsk basin. The subhorizontal mid-crust layer of increased conductivity, which is detected in the Salair crust, is typical of intracontinental orogens. The distribution pattern of electrical conductivity anomalies confirms the Salair thrust onto the Kuznetsk basin. The northern part of the Khmelev basin is characterized by high resistivity, which can be explained by abundant covered Late Permian granite massifs in that part of the Khmelev basin. The Kinterep thrust located in the northeastern part of the Khmelev basin is manifested in the deep geoelectric crust structure as a conducting zone, which can be considered as an evidence of the activity of this fault.

The paper provides a narrative review of cognitive deficits in patients with gambling disorder. We discuss several types of these deficits, namely, cognitive impairments due to deficits in executive functioning, impulsive and risky decision-making, gambling-related cognitive distortions, and cognitive errors in cognitive-behavioral terms. These deficits are reviewed from the perspective of their relevance for psychotherapy and the development of differentiated psychotherapeutic interventions for gambling disorder treatment.

The relevance of the study is caused by the necessity to assess the current radiation and geo-ecological situation at the sites of peaceful underground nuclear explosions. In addition, this study will allow us to predict possible scenarios for development at such items located near settlements. The circumstantial research of the structure of the geotechnogenic system «center of an underground nuclear explosion – the host geological environment – the surface of the Earth» involves magnetic study. The land magnetic survey allow us to separate geoelectric anomalies caused by buried iron objects from other items that have a different nature. The aim of the research is to detect and localize the buried iron objects on the site of the peaceful underground nuclear explosions «Crystal» based on the data of land magnetic survey. Object. The area of the emplacement hole of the peaceful underground nuclear explosion «Crystal» was chosen for study. The capacity of the peaceful underground nuclear explosions «Crystal» was of 1,7 kt in TNT equivalent. It was made on October 2, 1974 at a depth of 98 m in frozen rocks at a distance of 6,7 km away from Udachny town (Western Yakutia). The debri mound (or sarcophagus) was built on the mouth of the emplacement hole in two steps – in 1992 and 2007. The diameter of the mound is 260 m, the maximal height of it is 20 m. Methods. The magnetic survey was carried out on the profiles with a proton magnetometer MMPOS-1 with a reference frequency of 3 s. Georeferencing of points was performed using the Garmin 64st GPS receiver. Variations of the Earth's natural magnetic field were registered by a GSM-19 quantum magnetometer with a frequency of 10 s in a forest area near «Crystal» sarcophagus. Software complexes of statistical and spectral-correlation analysis of geophysical data «KOSKAD 3D» (author A.A. Nikitin, A.V. Petrov, A.S. Aleksashin) and of numerical modelling PRISMA (author A.S. Dolgal) are used for the data analysis. Results. 5323 readings of magnetic field on the area 430×330 m around the emplacement hole of the peaceful underground nuclear explosion «Crystal» were taken and systemized. The anomalous magnetic field ΔТа of the site of the peaceful underground nuclear explosion «Crystal» was mapped based on these data. The local magnetic anomalies formed by buried iron objects were revealed. The widest and most intense anomaly with a diameter of 46 m and an amplitude of up to 8000 nT is located above the emplacement hole at the center of the sarcophagus. The sequential energy filtering of measured magnetic data allowed separating this magnetic anomaly into parts associated with different fragments of the emplacement hole casing. The results of modeling magnetic anomalies caused by the hole casing fragments are consistent with the measured magnetic data. So, the additive character of the magnetic anomaly is revealed. The other magnetic anomalies are presumably caused by casing pipes of research and technical wells that existed before the explosion at the site and were randomly removed by the explosion.

Many minerals have semiconductor properties. It is known that petroleum reservoir rocks permeated with hydrocarbon fluids can sometimes behave as semiconductors. In the Earth’s magnetic field, the electrical conductivity of such materials becomes anisotropic, and the Hall effect is quite possible in rocks in natural conditions and detectable by magnetotelluric sounding. In the anisotropic medium, the field is subject to normal mode splitting, and its components show different attenuation coefficients and phase velocities. The modes differ due to polarization and rotation of the field vectors (clockwise in one mode, and counterclockwise in another). With account of the Hall effect, responses of the medium can be different when the medium is excited by a single normal wave. To detect the Hall effect in MTS surveys, we use the polarization analysis method and select the spectra of modes with right and left circular polarization. Special experiments were carried out to detect the contribution of the Hall effect during the MTS surveys. This article presents the first estimates of the Hall conductivity for the studied rocks.

In the period from 8 to 15 July 2018, the employees of the Laboratory of Geoelectricity of Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics SB RAS conducted field studies under the RFBR grant no. 17-05-00083 A. This effect should be very weak in all signals of controlled source transient electromagnetic method. The studies were carried out by the following electric prospecting methods: complex of electrical prospecting methods was chosen due to the methodical efficiency and relative simplicity of the work.Research problems: work area selection; measurement of transient electromagnetic signals byfour radial MN linesfor registration of components,caused by the Hall effect; measurement of components for measurements control. The relevance of the researchis primarilycaused by the fact that the galvanomagnetic effects (including the Hall effect), arising in crossed electric and magnetic fields, are well known in physics, but have not been studied in relation to the geological environment – this means that these effects are not yet accounted for affect the signals of geoelectromagnetic soundings. The main aimof the research is todiscover the Hall effect in the geological media. Object: the Hall effect in the geological media. Methods: controlled source transient electromagnetic method, magnetotelluric sounding method. Results. The field studies in 2018 are the first purposeful field studies to detect the Hall effect in the geological environment by electromagnetic sensing methods. In researchers opinion, the goal of research, according to preliminary data, was achieved. The Hall conductivity was estimated at~1–2·10–3S/m.

Bacterial cystathionine γ-lyase (bCSE) is the main producer of H2S in pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, etc. The suppression of bCSE activity considerably enhances the sensitivity of bacteria to antibiotics. Convenient methods for the efficient synthesis of gram quantities of two selective indole-based bCSE inhibitors, namely (2-(6-bromo-1H-indol-1-yl)acetyl)glycine (NL1), 5-((6-bromo-1H-indol-1-yl)methyl)- 2-methylfuran-3-carboxylic acid (NL2), as well as a synthetic method for preparation 3-((6-(7-chlorobenzo[b]thiophen-2-yl)-1H-indol-1-yl)methyl)- 1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylic acid (NL3), have been developed. The syntheses are based on the use of 6-bromoindole as the main building block for all three inhibitors (NL1, NL2, and NL3), and the designed residues are assembled at the nitrogen atom of the 6-bromoindole core or by the substitution of the bromine atom in the case of NL3 using Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling. The developed and refined synthetic methods would be significant for the further biological screening of NL-series bCSE inhibitors and their derivatives.

A new type of dimerization of dimethyl (β-styryl)malonates in the presence of TiCl4 accompanied by elimination of a methanol molecule was discovered. Selective methods for the synthesis of substituted trimethyl 4-hydroxy-[1,1′-biaryl]-3,3,5(2H)-tricarboxylates and trimethyl 7-hydroxy-9,10-dihydro-5,9-methanobenzo[8]annulene-6,8,8(5H)-tricarboxylates were developed. The regularities of the occurring processes were determined and a similar reaction of β-styrylmalonate with benzylidenemalonate in the presence of TiCl4 was performed in the scope of the suggested mechanism.

Heptose phosphates—unique linkers between endotoxic lipid A and O-antigen in the bacterial membrane—are pathogen-associated molecular patterns recognized by the receptors of the innate immune system. Understanding the mechanisms of immune system activation is important for the development of therapeutic agents to combat infectious diseases and overcome antibiotic resistance. However, in practice, it is difficult to obtain a substantial amount of heptose phosphates for biological studies due to the narrow scope of the reported synthetic procedures. We have optimized and developed an inexpensive and convenient synthesis for the first performed gram-scale production of 1-O-methyl d-glycero-α-d-gluco-heptoside 7-phosphate from readily available d-glucose. Scaling up to such amounts of the product, we have increased the efficiency of the synthesis and reduced the number of steps of the classical route through the direct phosphorylation of the O6,O7-unprotected heptose. The refined method could be of practical value for further biological screening of heptose phosphate derivatives.

The paper presents a study of the thermophysical characteristics of meat systems based on minced beef and pork with different morphological composition in the freezing–thawing process, and those of model systems based on minced beef with addition of adipose tissue (raw fat). The method used to detect and compare the thermodynamic changes consisted in determining the effective specific heat capacity by freeze-thaw thermograms and was based on a set of informational parameters related to it (cryoscopic temperature, cryoscopic interval of temperatures, specific heat of phase transition in the cryoscopic temperature interval, change of enthalpy in the interval of temperatures of the sample tested, proportion of moisture that changes its physical state in the cryoscopic temperature interval). It has been shown that the morphological structure of meat (the ratio of muscle, connective, and adipose tissues) significantly affects the thermophysical parameters of meat systems during freezing and defrosting. It has been found that under the conditions of a freeze–thaw cycle, an increase in the content of connective tissue leads to a higher proportion of moisture that changes its physical state in the cryoscopic temperature interval, while an increase in the adipose tissue content in a meat system reduces the moisture that changes its physical state in the cryoscopic temperature interval. When adipose tissue was introduced into meat systems, the freezing process resulted in a higher rate of formation of ice crystals and a lower rate of moisture migration from cells to the intercellular space, and crystal formation became a controlled process. When manufacturing semi-finished frozen meat products, regulating the ratio of muscle and adipose tissues makes it possible to influence the stability of the properties of meat systems in the technological cycle “freezing – storage – thawing” and to create products with the required functional, technological, and thermophysical parameters. This research can be a basis for developing the recipe compositions and technological parameters of manufacturing semi-finished frozen meat products and finished products based on them

The paper shows the possibility to use hydrothermal nanosilica as a modifying additive to increase the strength of concrete based on portland cement. The technology of obtaining hydrothermal nanosilica in the form of sols and nanopowders by ultrafiltration membrane concentration and cryochemical vacuum sublimation is proposed. The results of increased strength of concrete under compression by the addition of hydrothermal nanosilica Sol are presented. The experiments were performed on highly mobile concretes (ST = 10–19 cm) on equal-moving mixtures with water-cement ratio W/C = 0.61–0.71 at a dose of SiO2 2 wt.% and the rate of superplasticizer polycarboxylate 0.95±0.05 mas.% by cement. At the initial stage of hardening when the age is 1 day, the increase in the compressive strength of concrete reached 90–128% compared to the control sample. At the age of 28 days the increase in strength was 40%. High chemisorption activity of hydrothermal nanopowder with respect to Ca(OH)2 was determined in the experiment with lime medium. This indicates that the amorphous nanoadditive SiO2 , which has a high specific surface area, causes the formation of high-strength hydrates of calcium silicates in the cement (lime) medium as a result of the pozzolan reaction, and this causes an increase in the strength of concrete.

Land cover maps play an integral role in environmental management. However, countries and institutes encounter many challenges with producing timely, efficient, and temporally harmonized updates to their land cover maps. To address these issues we present a modular Regional Land Cover Monitoring System (RLCMS) architecture that is easily customized to create land cover products using primitive map layers. Primitive map layers are a suite of biophysical and end member maps, with land cover primitives representing the raw information needed to make decisions in a dichotomous key for land cover classification. We present best practices to create and assemble primitives from optical satellite using computing technologies, decision tree logic and Monte Carlo simulations to integrate their uncertainties. The concept is presented in the context of a regional land cover map based on a shared regional typology with 18 land cover classes agreed on by stakeholders from Cambodia, Laos PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. We created annual map and uncertainty layers for the period 2000–2017. We found an overall accuracy of 94% when taking uncertainties into account. RLCMS produces consistent time series products using free long term historical Landsat and MODIS data. The customizable architecture can include a variety of sensors and machine learning algorithms to create primitives and the best suited smoothing can be applied on a primitive level. The system is transferable to all regions around the globe because of its use of publicly available global data (Landsat and MODIS) and easily adaptable architecture that allows for the incorporation of a customizable assembly logic to map different land cover typologies based on the user's landscape monitoring objectives

Introduction. Tuberculosis of the prostate is difficult for diagnosis, especially in the early stages.Material and methods. In an open prospective cohort study 84 patients with clinical and laboratory manifestations of chronic prostatitis were included.Purpose of the study. Тo estimate the most significant diagnostic criteria for prostate tuberculosis; role of prostate biopsy in differential diagnosis.Results. In 45 patients (53.6%) prostate tuberculosis was diagnosed, and in 39 patients (46.4%) chronic bacterial prostatitis was diagnosed. The diagnosis of prostate tuberculosis was confirmed microbiologically in 33.3% of patients, radiologically - in 24.4% of patients. A prostate biopsy followed by histological, bacteriological and molecular-genetic examination of the biopsy specimen confirmed the diagnosis in 20% of patients.Conclusion. The most informative in the differential diagnosis of tuberculosis and chronic prostatitis is the identification of M. tuberculosis; verification of diagnosis radiographically is possible only with the development of destruction of the parenchyma. The biopsy of the prostate should be examined not only pathologically, but also by molecular genetic methods.Disclosure: The study did not have sponsorship. Introduction: Treatment of acute kidney injury (AKI) is a complex current problem. Mortality in this pathology is over 50%. One of the areas of correction therapy in AKI patients is the improvement of diagnostics and the earliest identification of the underlying cause of AKI. The second promising direction in reducing mortality is prevention of AKI progression (nephroprotection) and resulting multi-organ disorders by individual pharmacological and non-pharmacological intensive therapy. Objectives: to evaluate the possibilities of individual pharmacological correction and intensive care of patients with AKI of different origin. Materials and methods: A prospective nonrandomized study. Inclusion criteria: patients with prerenal, renal and subrenal AKI module in stage of oligoanuria and restoration of diuresis. Exclusion criteria: AKI in patients after cardiosurgery and operations on large vessels. Individual pharmacological and non-pharmacological correction (renoprotection) was performed in 250 ICU patients with prerenal (130), renal (81) and subrenal (39) AKI. The effectiveness of individual nephroprotection was assessed by the duration of the oligoanuria stage (indicator of AKI severity). Results and discussion: The basis of intensive therapy in AKI patients was renal replacement therapy and peridialysis care. Peridialisys support was presented by a complex of therapeutic measures aimed at preventing the progression of AKI (nephroprotection) and the prevention of multi-organ complications. Individual pharmacological and non-pharmacological peridialysis intensive therapy was performed, including: removal of the main cause of forming AKI; maintenance of normal circulation blood volume and effective cardiac output; maintenance of adequate lung ventilation (correction of hypoxia, timely ventilation); correction of hypertension, hypotension, and clinically significant arrhythmia; improvement of renal blood flow and stimulation of diuresis; stopping bleeding and correction of anemia; targeted antibiotic therapy; removal or adequate drainage of the intoxication focus (purulent focus); use of alternative ways of detoxication and efferent methods. It was proved that individual pharmacological and non-pharmacological nephroprotection made it possible to improve the results of treatment. The duration of the oligoanuria stage significantly (p < 0.05) decreased to 14.3±0.9 days in the main group (22.6±1.2 days in the comparison group). Conclusions: The medical technology of individual intensive therapy with renal replacement therapy and peridialysis care has been developed, including: a diagnostic stage with determination of peculiarities of renal hemodynamic disorders and pharmacological and instrumental (stenting, drainage, etc.) correction of the real cause and manifestations of AKI. Improving AKI diagnostics and carrying out individual pharmacological and non-pharmacological correction improves the results of AKI treatment.

The conversion of natural land cover into human-dominated land use systems has significant impacts on the environment. Global mapping and monitoring of human-dominated land use extent via satellites provides an empirical basis for assessing land use pressures. Here, we present a novel 2019 global land cover, land use, and ecozone map derived from Landsat satellite imagery and topographical data using derived image feature spaces and algorithms suited per theme. From the map, we estimate the spatial extent and dispersion of land use disaggregated by climate domain and ecozone, where dispersion is the mean distance of land use to all land within a subregion. We find that percent of area under land use and distance to land use follow a power law that depicts an increasingly random spatial distribution of land use as it extends across lands of comparable development potential. For highly developed climate/ecozones, such as temperate and sub-tropical terra firma vegetation on low slopes, area under land use is contiguous and remnant natural land cover have low areal extent and high fragmentation. The tropics generally have the greatest potential for land use expansion, particularly in South America. An exception is Asian humid tropical terra firma vegetated lowland, which has land use intensities comparable to that of temperate breadbaskets such as the United States’ corn belt. Wetland extent is inversely proportional to land use extent within climate domains, indicating historical wetland loss for temperate, sub-tropical, and dry tropical biomes. Results highlight the need for planning efforts to preserve natural systems and associated ecosystem services. The demonstrated methods will be implemented operationally in quantifying global land change, enabling a monitoring framework for systematic assessments of the appropriation and restoration of natural land cover.

Development of nanotechnologies allows to solve a number of problems of construction materials science: increase in strength, durability, abrasion and corrosion resistance that determines operational reliability of building constructions. Generally it is achieved due to nanoparticles that modify the structure and properties of the existing materials or products and are entered into their volume or on a surface layer. It’s theoretically and experimentally proved that the modified water has the bigger activity owing to the change of the ionic composition influencing the рН size and other parameters. As nanoparticles have a high level of surface energy, they show the increased tendency to agglomeration, meanwhile the size of agglomerates can reach several micrometers. In this regard an urgent task is to equally distribute and disaggregate the nanoparticles in the volume of tempering water. The experiments on studying of influence of the nanoparticles of silica distributed in volume of liquid by means of ultrasonic processing on characteristics of cement and sand solution and heavy concrete have been conducted. Nanoadditive influence on density, speed of strength development, final strength under compression of materials on the basis of cement depending on nanoadditive mass percent has been established.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of the use of n-tyrosol (extract of rhodiola rosea) in the form of gel on the mucous membrane of the lip in rats with experimental stomatitis.Materials and methods. The experiments were carried out on 54 white male rats weighing 220–280 g. The animals were divided into three groups: control, experimental for comparison and experimental main. When modeling chemical stomatitis in rats by applying 5% solution of caustic sodium to the mucous membrane of the lip, the development of inflammation was observed. The local application of the gel based on n-tyrosol was carried out three times a day for 12 days.Histological and macroscopic examination was performed on the 3rd, 7th and 12th days. The extent of damage was recorded by measuring the area of the lesion in square millimeters (mm2 ). At the same time a control material was taken and was fixed in formalin, embedded into paraffin, stained with hematoxylin and eosin by Van Gieson. Specific areas of dense unformed connective tissue, lymphomonocytic infiltration, granulation tissue were determined in the lesion and surrounding tissues; the numerical density of the vessels was determined in 1 mm2 . The data obtained during the study of the dynamics of healing were averaged in the groups mentioned above and subjected to statistical processing using nonparametric (Mann–Whitney and Wilcoxon) methods using the computer program Statistica 8.0.Results. On the 12th day, the area of the lesions was more than twice as large as the surface of burn surfaces, on which the gel with n-tyrosol was used. The use of n-tyrosine-based gel applications reduced by half the specific area of lymphomonocytic infiltration in the surrounding tissues and in the lesion itself, and promoted a more rapid maturation of the connective tissue. Quantitative analysis revealed that the use of the gel with n-tyrosol stimulated the proliferation of granulation and connective tissue, as well as the growth of newly formed vessels in the burn area. Thus, topical application of the n-tyrosine-based gel helped to reduce the inflammatory response and stimulated the regeneration process.

Aim. To study the morphofunctional state of ovaries after the introduction of recombinant FSH. Materials and methods. Two groups of mature female Wistar rats were used in the study. The experimental group consisted of 35 rats with a model of follicular ovarian cysts, while 25 rats were in the control group.Rats were taken out of the experiment on days 3, 7, 15, 30 and 60. Paraffin slides of ovaries were stained with hematoxylin and eosin by Van Gieson. Histological and morphometric investigations were performed.Results. On day 7 of FSH administration, the maximum increase in the size of the ovaries was observed due to the formation of single-cell follicular cysts. Rats in the experimental group showed a marked decrease in the number of growing follicles on day 7 and 15. The increase in atretic bodies and follicles in comparison with the control group was observed on day 7 and lasted until the end of the experiment. Additionally, on day 7 of the experiment, hyperemia and vasoconstriction were noted. The number of yellow bodies decreased during the experiment, and an increase in collagen formation occurred starting from day 15 of the experiment.Conclusion. The introduction of follicle-stimulating hormone for 7 days leads to disruption of folliculogenesis, strengthening of atresia in the ovaries, and the formation of functional cysts.

Introduction. Prostate tuberculosis is not rare, but often overlooked disease: 77% of patients died from tuberculosis any localization had prostate tuberculosis and mostly it was not diagnosed alive; in 25% of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis prostate tuberculosis was revealed by biopsy. Material and Methods.History cases of out-patients with prostate tuberculosis who was under observation in the Novosibirsk tuberculous dispensary in 2010-2015 years were analyzed retrospectively with purpose to estimate the ways of the diagnosis of prostate tuberculosis. Results. More often (41.7%) reason to suppose prostate tuberculosis was chronic prostatitis resistant to standard therapy. In 18.1% the disease was accidental finding after surgery due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (5.6%) or in time of examination patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (12.5%), who had no prostate-specific symptoms.Conclusion. Prostate tuberculosis may have non-specific symptoms and may be asymptomatic – in this case the disease is diagnosed accidentally. The frequency of prostate tuberculosis hiding under the mask of chronic prostatitis is high. Urogenital infections resistant to standard therapy are suspicious on tuberculosis.

Incidence, prevalence and mortality from tuberculosis remain high. Tuberculosis is systemic disease and may affect any organ or tissue; second-third most common form is urogenital tuberculosis. Tuberculosis is one of the importance reasons for female mortality, especially in the epidemic regions. There is genetic predisposition for female genital tuberculosis. Diagnosis of urogenital tuberculosis is difficult because of absence specific symptoms; HIV-comorbidity makes early diagnosis even more difficult. Outcomes of kidney tuberculosis are severe fibrosis and calcification, that disorders kidney functions. Chronic renal failure hinders cure from kidney tuberculosis. Estimation of epidemiological reports is also difficult due to absence of unique classification.

In 2012 - 2015 operational monitoring was carried out to evaluate intensity of lateral wear, depending on operating conditions in the curve of 350 m radius. The article presents data on the influence of operational factors on lateral wear of rails at the East Siberian, South-Ural and Privolzhskaya Railways. It is shown that the main factors affecting the lateral wear are: lubrication, rail canting, curve radius, the level of unbalanced acceleration. To manage the process of lateral wear and reduce its intensity the following should be made: elimination of multi-degree curves; maintaining rail canting within 1/16 - 1/27, thus the elimination of deviations in values of canting should be carried out by replacing the elastic under-rail and under-sleeper pads or by using standard leveling shims; providing well-known engineering solutions, such as design of curves with unbalanced acceleration in the range 0.3 m/s2 for freight and 0.7 m/s2 for passenger trains; lubrication of the rails in curved sections of the track.

This article describes the methods of treatment of patients with osteoarthritis of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ OA) on the example of the study of 63 patients. Aim - development of an algorithm for complex treatment of patients with OA of the TMJ. Materials and methods. All patients were examined by the scheme, which included a survey, inspection, making diagnostic models, checking occlusal contacts, recording mandibular movement, electromyographic study of masticatory muscles, and CT scan of the TMJ. Results. All patients were divided into 3 groups. The treatment of patients of the first subgroup included selective polishing of the teeth, the use of non-narcotic analgesics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory preparations and physiotherapy The patients of the second subgroup received medical-diagnostic mouthguards, and the third subgroup of patients was treated by successive disocclusion of the teeth in combination with massage, physiotherapy and myogymnastics. Conclusions. Treatment of OA of the TMJ should be comprehensive and include orthopedic treatment, the use of drugs, physical therapy, massage and myogymnastics.

The paper is devoted to the analysis of the nonlocal damping consideration influence on the results of computer modeling of nonlinear systems subjected to periodic deterministic and stochastic stationary loads forced vibrations The shallow arc dynamic behavior is examined. The zone-block structure of the lithosphere is represented by a hierarchically organized pattern of stable blocks and mobile zones which border such blocks and contain highly dislocated geological medium (Fig. 1). Today, different specialists adhere to different concepts of blocks and zones, which are two main elements of the lithosphere structure. Differences are most significant in determinations of ‘interblock zones’ that are named as deformation / destructive / contact / mobile / fracture zones etc. due to their diversity in different conditions of deformation. One of the most effective approaches to studying the zone-block structure of the lithosphere is a combination of geological and geophysical studies of interblock zones tectonic features on various scales, which can make it possible to reveal the most common patterns of the interblock zones, general regularities of their development and relationships between the interblock zones.The main objectives of our study were (1) to identify the zone-block structure of the crust in the southern regions of East Siberia from tectonophysical analysis of geological and geophysical surveys conducted on four different scales along the 500 km long Shertoy-Krasny Chikoy transect crossing the marginal segment of the Siberian block, the Baikal rift and the Transbaikalian block (Fig. 2); (2) to clarify structural features of the central part of the Baikal rift (representing the tectonic type of interblock extension zone) by applying new research methods, such as radon emanation survey, to the Shertoy-Krasny Chikoy transect and using the previously applied methods, such as magnetotelluric sounding, on a smaller scale; and (3) to study manifestation of interblock zones of various ranks in different geological and geophysical fields, to reveal common specific features of their structural patterns for the upper crust, and to establish regularities of hierarchic and spatial relationships between the interblock zones.On the global scale, the object of our study at the Shertoy-Krasny Chikoy transect was the Baikal interblock zone (Fig. 2, 15, and 16). On the trans-regional scale, large fault zones were studied (Fig. 6, 11, and 14). On the regional and local scales, the objects of our study were systems of faults and fractures of various ranks which were active at the late Cenozoic stage of tectogenesis (Fig. 4, and 5). The set of geological and geophysical surveys included application of methods for identification of faults and fractures using different criteria, with account of the fact that clusters of such structures are indicative of the interblock zones of the crust. We used structural geological methods for studying faults and fractures, morphostructural analysis (including interpretation of satellite images), self-potential (SP) and resistivity profiling, magnetotelluric (MT) sounding, radon emanation survey, and hydrogeological studies of water occurrences. The region of Lake Baikal is one of the most studied geodynamically active regions of Russia; therefore, published data from previous studies of the Baikal region were used to interpret the data obtained by the authors.By interpreting the obtained data from the unified tectonophysical positions, the three objectives were met, and the following research results were stated:1. The principal specific features of the geological structure of the crust along the Shertoy-Krasny Chikoy transect are specified. It is established that the divisibility pattern complies with tectonophysical definitions of the hierarchically organized zone-block structure of the lithosphere (Fig. 2, 6, 11, 14, and 16). It is clearly evidenced, within the depth interval from the near-surface to about 30 km, that the crust is split into slightly broken blocks that are in contact with each other via wide zones that are marked by higher fracturing and fluid saturation. To a first approximation, such blocks are shaped as subhorizontal plates in the stable southern regions of East Siberia (e.g., the southern part of the Siberian platform) and subvertical plates in the areas being active in the Cenozoic (e.g., the Baikal rift). Within the framework of the given model of the zone-block structure of the southern regions of East Siberia, strict hierarchical subordination is established that manifests in spatial relationships of interblock zones (the closed network of the zones, imbedded blocks); its quantitative characteristics are stated at the global, trans-regional and three regional levels (Table 1, Fig. 2, Fig. 22). Average sizes of the zones, that were crossed by the transect, are estimated from the depth of their penetration into the crust; it is shown that Scale Invariant 2.2 (previously set for estimates of square areas) is valid also for the analysis of volumes of interblock structures. Detailed observations show that interblock structures are usually wider towards the earth surface; in the 1st order active zones, dimensions of the interblock structures may exceed dimensions of the adjacent, slightly disturbed blocks of the corresponding hierarchic level (Fig. 6, 11, 14, and 16). This pattern is typical of the actively developing Baikal rift and determines specific features of its structure with regards to the zone-block divisibility of the lithosphere.2. The Baikal interblock zone is a global one in the hierarchy of the zone-block structure of Asia. It develops under tension conditions at the contact of the Siberian and Trans-Baikal lithospheric blocks (Fig. 16). Within the transect, the width of the Baikal interblock zone is about 200 km. At the trans-regional level of the hierarchy, the zone is comprised of the Obruchevsky, Chersky-Barguzin and Dzhida-Vitim fault systems (Fig. 6, 11, and 14). The first two of them act as the western and eastern borders of the subsided block of the Baikal basin and thus constitute the major area of the lithospheric extension. The second area is the Dzhida-Vitim fault system separating from the first one by the uplifted Khamar-Daban block; within the transect, it is morphologically manifested by the Ivolgino-Uda basin (Fig. 11, and 16). In this area, due to localization of deformation in the South Baikal basin, the process of fracturing is less pronounced, although indicators of the recent activity, such as seismicity, heat flow, gas emanations etc., are clearly at maximums over the Dzhida-Vitim zone, which makes it evident that this zone is distinguished from the adjacent Transbaikalian block (Fig. 15). Each of the three trans-regional fault systems has a width of about 50 km and consists of regional interblock zones that undergo the intensive development within the Baikal area wherein the crust is subject to extension (Fig. 6, 11, and 14). By their internal patterns, they represent zones of major faults: the Prikhrebtovy, Primorsky, and Morskoy faults constituting the Obruchevsky fault system, as well as the Bortovoy and Deltovy faults from the Chersky-Barguzin system. The Prikhrebtovy and Bortovoy fault zones are located at the periphery of the systems and flatten out in the direction of the rift axis from depths of about 20 km, and, consequently, the area of the most intensive deformations in the Pribaikalie has a ‘bowl-shaped’ profile (Fig. 16). Due to the intensive fracturing occurring in the conditions of the overall stretching of the crust, this area is saturated with meteoric water and deep fluids penetrating into the regional fault zones and partially into the adjacent blocks also belonging to the internal pattern of the Obruchevsky and Chersky-Barguzin fault systems. The block represented by the Baikal basin (located between these two fault systems) is no exception as its central part is disturbed by the regional-scale zone wherein fluidization is most intense due to localization of deformation (Fig. 8, and 16). The zone of the anomalously low resistivity has a width of about 7-10 km and shows no trend to any drastic narrowing in the lower crust, which gives grounds to consider it as the main channel for migration of deep fluids towards the surface.3. As shown by experiences gained during the research at the Shertoy-Krasny Chikoy transect, in East Siberia the applied methods and techniques are informative for identification and analyses of the internal patterns of the interblock zones of different ranks. The methods and techniques used in studies along the transect complement each other and make it possible to investigate different properties of interblock zones. In general, in comparison with blocks, the zones are distinguished by the relief lowering, anomalous water exchange conditions, gas anomalies that are positive and complex in shape, and low resistivity values both near the surface and at depth (Fig. 3–6, 8, and 11–16). Integrated interpretation of the data is challenging: when applied separately, the methods and techniques reveal various specific features of interblock zone that differ in the degree of heterogeneity of the internal patterns depending on conditions of their formation and development. At the current stage of research, the boundaries of the interblock zones can be determined, to a first approximation, from average positions of anomalies, to determine which the deviations of measured parameters from their mean values are used.In the future, it is necessary to conduct detailed surveys using the above geological and geophysical methods in order to reveal specific features of manifestation of the interblock zones that differ in (1) kinematic types, ranks and degrees of activity, (2) properties of infill material and the surrounding medium, and (3) impacts of external factors (e.g., those of the planetary level). Upon comparison of results of such studies, it will be possible to update and improve the proposed generalized models accounting for manifestation of the interblock zones in the geological and geophysical fields (Fig. 17, 20, and 21) and to ensure that the methods and techniques used can be applied more effectively for identification of interblock zones in regions where rock outcrops are poor or lacking.

On the original experimental model of autoimmune oophoritis the stages of formation and extent of destruction to structural elements of the ovary were studied, using histological and histochemical methods, the content antiovarian antibodies in the serum of experimental animals by enzyme immunoassay was determined. Autoimmune oophoritis is the step-wise character, with a gradual increase in the pathological process, which is manifested in the growth of mononuclear infiltration, restructuring steroid-producing structures, destruction of oocytes.

This study examines the suitability of 250 m MODIS (MODerate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) data for mapping global cropland extent. A set of 39 multi-year MODIS metrics incorporating four MODIS land bands, NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and thermal data was employed to depict cropland phenology over the study period. Sub-pixel training datasets were used to generate a set of global classification tree models using a bagging methodology, resulting in a global per-pixel cropland probability layer. This product was subsequently thresholded to create a discrete cropland/non-cropland indicator map using data from the USDA-FAS (Foreign Agricultural Service) Production, Supply and Distribution (PSD) database describing per-country acreage of production field crops. Five global land cover products, four of which attempted to map croplands in the context of multiclass land cover classifications, were subsequently used to perform regional evaluations of the global MODIS cropland extent map. The global probability layer was further examined with reference to four principle global food crops: corn, soybeans, wheat and rice. Overall results indicate that the MODIS layer best depicts regions of intensive broadleaf crop production (corn and soybean), both in correspondence with existing maps and in associated high probability matching thresholds. Probability thresholds for wheat-growing regions were lower, while areas of rice production had the lowest associated confidence. Regions absent of agricultural intensification, such as Africa, are poorly characterized regardless of crop type. The results reflect the value of MODIS as a generic global cropland indicator for intensive agriculture production regions, but with little sensitivity in areas of low agricultural intensification. Variability in mapping accuracies between areas dominated by different crop types also points to the desirability of a crop-specific approach rather than attempting to map croplands in aggregate.

While publicly available, cost-free coarse and medium spatial resolution satellite data such as MODIS and Landsat perform well in characterizing industrial cropping systems, commercial high spatial resolution satellite data are often preferred alternative for fine scale land tenure agricultural systems such as found in Pakistan. In this article, we integrated commercial 5 m spatial resolution RapidEye and free 30 m Landsat imagery in characterizing winter wheat in Punjab province, Pakistan. Specifically, we used 5 m spatial resolution RapidEye imagery from peak of the winter wheat growing season to derive training data for the characterization of time-series Landsat data. After co-registration, each RapidEye image was classified into wheat/no wheat labels at the 5 m resolution and then aggregated as percent cover to 30 m Landsat grid cells. We produced four maps, two using RapidEye derived continuous training data (of percent wheat cover) as input to a regression tree model, and two using RapidEye derived categorical training data as input to a classification tree model. From the RapidEye-derived 30 m continuous training data, we derived Map 1 as percent wheat per pixel, and Map 2 as binary wheat/no wheat classification derived using a 50% threshold applied to Map 1. To create the categorical wheat/no wheat training data, we first converted the continuous training data to a wheat/no wheat classification, and then used these categorical RapidEye training data to produce a categorical wheat map from the Landsat data. Two methods for categorizing the training data were used. The first method used a 50% wheat/no wheat threshold to produce Map 3, and the second method used only pure wheat (≥75% cover) and no wheat (≤25% cover) training pixels to produce Map 4. The approach of Map 4 is analogous to a standard method in which whole, pure, high-confidence training pixels are delineated. We validated the wheat maps with field data collected using a stratified, two-stage cluster design. Accuracy of the maps produced from the percent cover training data (Map 1 and Map 2) was not substantially better than the accuracy of the maps produced from the categorical training data as all methods yielded similar overall accuracies (±standard error): 88% (±4%) for Map 1, 90% (±4%) for Map 2, 90% (±4%) for Map 3, and 87% (±4%) for Map 4. Because the percent cover training data did not produce significantly higher accuracies, sub-pixel training data are not required for winter wheat mapping in Punjab. Given sufficient expertise in supervised classification model calibration, freely available Landsat data are sufficient for crop mapping in the fine-scale land tenure system of Punjab. For winter wheat mapping in Punjab and other like landscapes, training data for supervised classification may be collected directly from Landsat images without the need for high resolution reference imagery.

The analysis of alterations retina of during exposure of threshold laser intensity and opportunities to correct it by synthethic dipeptid. The material and method: 23 rabbits were included in the experiment. Recived matherial was investigated with help of light and electron microscopy. All layers of retina were damaged during laser exposure. The usage of synthethic dipeptide reduced laser damage. Synthethic dipeptid have retinoprotection abilities.

This article is devoted to pressing questions of definition of economic damage in connection with the raised disease of the population from the adjacent state (province, region, district) with adverse ecological conditions and estimations of economic benefit of successfully lead medical-preventive and administrative-organizational actions.

The aim of this work was to determine character of modifying radiation influence on damages of haematoretinal barrier components which is caused by light. The study showed that preliminary total x-ray radiation (5 Gy) increases lightning damages (3 500 lx, on the 1-st, 2-nd, 7-th, 14-th, 30-th days) of haematoretinal barrier which manifest by decreased specific square of chorioideas open capillaries, by haemodynamic disorders, reactive and destructive changes of pigmental epithelium. Damages of haematoretinal barrier is of focal character and are mostly l expressed on the areas of retina with massive destruction of neurosensory cells.

Experiments performed on white outbred 100 rats showed that light impact with the intensity of 6 000 lx y during 6 hours and radiation in the setting of alloxanic diabetes caused injury of most structural components of retina and significant microcirculatory disturbances in the sclera. Starting with 7 days after radiation, retina damages had focal character which was more evident during radiation in the setting of alloxanic diabetes. However, prolonged injection of ascovertin led to decreased decstruction and improved hemodynamics which was expressed in reliable decreasing focal area by 2.1 times after light impact and by 1.4 times after radiation in the setting of alloxanic diabetes.
