Abstract: The Module-0 Demonstrator is a single-phase 600 kg liquid argon time projection chamber operated as a prototype for the DUNE liquid argon near detector. Based on the ArgonCube design concept, Module-0 features a novel 80k-channel pixelated charge readout and advanced high-coverage photon detection system. In this paper, we present an analysis of an eight-day data set consisting of 25 million cosmic ray events collected in the spring of 2021. We use this sample to demonstrate the imaging performance of the charge and light readout systems as well as the signal correlations between the two. We also report argon purity and detector uniformity measurements and provide comparisons to detector simulations.

Abstract: Abstract An event topology with two secondary vertices compatible with the decay of short-lived particles was found in the analysis of neutrino interactions in the OPERA target. The observed topology is compatible with tau neutrino charged current (CC) interactions with charm production and neutrino neutral current (NC) interactions with $$c\overline{c}$$ cc¯ pair production. However, other processes can mimic this topology. A dedicated analysis was implemented to identify the underlying process. A Monte Carlo simulation was developed and complementary procedures were introduced in the kinematic reconstruction. A multivariate analysis technique was used to achieve an optimal separation of signal from background. Most likely, this event is a $$\nu _{\tau }$$ ντ CC interaction with charm production, the tau and charm particle decaying into 1 prong and 2 prongs, respectively. The significance of this observation is evaluated.

Abstract: Abstract The OPERA experiment has discovered the tau neutrino appearance in the CNGS muon neutrino beam, in agreement with the 3 neutrino flavour oscillation hypothesis. The OPERA neutrino interaction target, made of Emulsion Cloud Chambers, was particularly efficient in the reconstruction of electromagnetic showers. Moreover, thanks to the very high granularity of the emulsion films, showers induced by electrons can be distinguished from those induced by π 0s, thus allowing the detection of charged current interactions of electron neutrinos. In this paper the results of the search for electron neutrino events using the full dataset are reported. An improved method for the electron neutrino energy estimation is exploited. Data are compatible with the 3 neutrino flavour mixing model expectations and are used to set limits on the oscillation parameters of the 3+1 neutrino mixing model, in which an additional mass eigenstate m 4 is introduced. At high Δm 412 (≳0.1 eV2), an upper limit on sin2 2θ μe is set to 0.021 at 90% C.L. and Δm 412 ≳ 4 × 10− 3 eV2 is excluded for maximal mixing in appearance mode.

Abstract: Abstract The OPERA experiment was designed to search for $$\nu _{\mu } \rightarrow \nu _{\tau }$$ νμ→ντ oscillations in appearance mode through the direct observation of tau neutrinos in the CNGS neutrino beam. In this paper, we report a study of the multiplicity of charged particles produced in charged-current neutrino interactions in lead. We present charged hadron average multiplicities, their dispersion and investigate the KNO scaling in different kinematical regions. The results are presented in detail in the form of tables that can be used in the validation of Monte Carlo generators of neutrino–lead interactions.

Abstract: Searches for $B$ mesons decaying to final states containing a baryon and a lepton are performed, where the baryon is either $\Lambda_c$ or $\Lambda$ and the lepton is a muon or an electron. These decays violate both baryon and lepton number and would be a signature of physics beyond the standard model. 11. A Search for the Decay B^0 -> gamma gamma

Abstract: We report the result of a search for the rare decay B^0 -> gamma gamma in 426 fb-1 of data, corresponding to 226 million B^0 \bar{B}^0 pairs, collected on the Upsilon(4S) resonance at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider using the BABAR detector. We use a maximum likelihood fit to extract the signal yield and observe 21^{+13}_{-12} signal events with statistical significance of 1.9 sigma. This corresponds to a branching fraction B(B^0 -> gamma gamma) = (1.7 +- 1.1(stat.) +- 0.2(syst.)) x 10^-7. Abstract: We report the results of a study of the exclusive charmless semileptonic decays, $B^{+} \rightarrow \eta^{(\prime)} \ell^{+} \nu$ and $B^{0} \rightarrow \pi^{-} \ell^{+} \nu$, undertaken with approximately 464 million $\ensuremath{B\kern 0.18em\bar{\kern -0.18em B}}$ pairs collected at the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the ${{\slshape B\kern-0.1em{\smaller A}\kern-0.1em B\kern-0.1em{\smaller A\kern-0.2em R}}}$ detector. The analysis uses events in which the signal B decays are reconstructed with a loose neutrino reconstruction technique. We obtain partial branching fractions for $B^{+} \rightarrow \eta \ell^{+} \nu$ and $B^{0} \rightarrow \pi^{-} \ell^{+} \nu$ decays in three and twelve bins of $q^2$, respectively, from which we extract the $f_+(q^2)$ form-factor shapes and the total branching fractions ${\ensuremath{\cal B}}(B^{+} \rightarrow \eta \ell^{+} \nu)$ $ = (0.36 \pm 0.05_{stat} \pm 0.04_{syst}) \times 10^{-4}$ and ${\ensuremath{\cal B}}(B^{0} \rightarrow \pi^- \ell^{+} \nu)$ $ = (1.42 \pm 0.05_{stat} \pm 0.07_{syst}) \times 10^{-4}$. 15. Search for b-->u transitions in B- --> DK- and B- --> D*K- Decays

Abstract: We report results from an updated study of the suppressed decays B- to D K- and B- to D* K- followed by D to K+pi-, where D(*) indicates a D(*)0 or an anti-D(*)0 meson, and D* decays to D pi0 or D gamma. These decays are sensitive to the CKM unitarity triangle angle gamma, due to interference between the b to c transition B- to D(*)0K- followed by the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay D0 to K+pi-, and the b to u transition B- to anti-D(*)0K- followed by the Cabibbo-favored decay anti-D0 to K+pi-. We also report an analysis of the decay B- to D(*)pi- with the D decaying into the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed mode D to K+pi-. Our results are based on 467 million Upsilon (4S) to B anti-B decays collected with the BaBar detector at SLAC. We measure the ratios R(*) of the suppressed ([K+pi-]_D K-/pi-) to favored ([K-pi+]_D K-/pi-) branching fractions as well as the CP asymmetries A(*) of those modes. We see indications of signals for the B- to D K- and B- to D*K-, D*->D pi0 suppressed modes, with statistical significances of 2.1 and 2.2 sigma, respectively, and we measure: R_{DK} = (1.1\pm 0.6 \pm 0.2)\times 10^{-2}, A_{DK} = -0.86 \pm 0.47 \ ^{+0.12}_{-0.16}, R*_{(D pi0)K} = (1.8\pm 0.9 \pm 0.4)\times 10^{-2}, A*_{(D pi0)K} = +0.77 \pm 0.35\pm 0.12, R*_{(D gamma)K} = (1.3\pm 1.4\pm 0.8 )\times 10^{-2}, A*_{(D gamma)K} = +0.36 \pm 0.94\ ^{+0.25}_{-0.41}, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. We use a frequentist approach to obtain the magnitude of the ratio r_B = |A(B- to anti-D0 K-) / A(B- to D0K-)|= (9.5^{+5.1}_{-4.1})%, with r_B<16.7% at 90% confidence level. In the case of B- to D* K- we find r*_B = |A(B^- to anti-D*0 K-)/A(B- to D*0 K-)|=(9.6^{+3.5}_{-5.1})%, with r*_B<15.0% at 90% confidence level., Comment: 18 pages, 13 postscript figures, submitted to Phys.Rev.D

Abstract: We present results for B-meson decay modes involving a charm meson, protons, and pions using 455×106 BB̄ pairs recorded by the BaBar detector at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy e +e - collider. The branching fractions are measured for the following ten decays: B ̄0→D0pp̄, B ̄0→D *0pp̄, B ̄0→D +pp̄π -, B ̄0→D *+pp̄π -, B -→D0pp̄π -, B -→D *0pp̄π -, B ̄0→D0pp̄π -π +, B ̄0→D *0pp̄π -π +, B -→D +pp̄π -π -, and B -→D *+pp̄π -π -. The four B - and the two five-body B ̄0 modes are observed for the first time. The four-body modes are enhanced compared to the three- and the five-body modes. In the three-body modes, the M(pp̄) and M(D(*)0p) invariant-mass distributions show enhancements near threshold values. In the four-body mode B ̄0→D +pp̄π -, the M(pπ -) distribution shows a narrow structure of unknown origin near 1.5GeV/c2. The distributions for the five-body modes, in contrast to the others, are similar to the expectations from uniform phase-space predictions. © 2012 American Physical Society.

Abstract: We report the observation of the decay B- → D(s)((*)+) K- ℓ- ν(ℓ) based on 342 fb(-1) of data collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+ e- storage rings at SLAC. A simultaneous fit to three D(s)(+) decay chains is performed to extract the signal yield from measurements of the squared missing mass in the B meson decay. We observe the decay B- → D(s)((*)+) K- ℓ- ν(ℓ) with a significance greater than 5 standard deviations (including systematic uncertainties) and measure its branching fraction to be B(B- → D(s)((*)+) K- ℓ- ν(ℓ)) = [6.13(-1.03)(+1.04)(stat)±0.43(syst)±0.51(B(D(s)))]×10(-4), where the last error reflects the limited knowledge of the D(s) branching fractions.

22. Search for Production of Invisible Final States in Single-Photon Decays of Υ(1S)

Abstract: We search for single-photon decays of the Υ(1S) resonance, Υ → γ + invisible, where the invisible state is either a particle of definite mass, such as a light Higgs boson A⁰, or a pair of dark matter particles, χχ. Both A⁰ and χ are assumed to have zero spin. We tag Υ(1S) decays with a dipion transition Υ(2S) → π⁺π⁻Υ(1S) and look for events with a single energetic photon and significant missing energy. We find no evidence for such processes in the mass range m(A⁰) ≤ 9.2 GeV and m(χ) ≤ 4.5 GeV in the sample of 98 × 10⁶ Υ(2S) decays collected with the BABAR detector and set stringent limits on new physics models that contain light dark matter states.

Abstract: We study the processes γγ→KS0K±π and γγ→K+K-π+π -π0 using a data sample of 519.2fb-1 recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider at center-of-mass energies near the Υ(nS) (n=2, 3, 4) resonances. We observe the ηc(1S), χc0(1P) and ηc(2S) resonances produced in two-photon interactions and decaying to K+K-π+π-π0, with significances of 18.1, 5.4 and 5.3 standard deviations (including systematic errors), respectively, and report 4.0σ evidence of the χc2(1P) decay to this final state. We measure the ηc(2S) mass and width in KS0K±π decays, and obtain the values m(ηc(2S))=3638.5±1.5±0.8MeV/c2 and Γ(ηc(2S))=13.4±4.6±3.2MeV, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. We measure the two-photon width times branching fraction for the reported resonance signals, and search for the χc2(2P) resonance, but no significant signal is observed. © 2011 American Physical Society.

Abstract: Searches for B mesons decaying to final states containing a baryon and a lepton are performed, where the baryon is either Λc or Λ and the lepton is a muon or an electron. These decays violate both baryon and lepton number and would be a signature of physics beyond the standard model. No significant signal is observed in any of the decay modes, and upper limits in the range (3.2-520)×10-8 are set on the branching fractions at the 90% confidence level. © 2011 American Physical Society.

Abstract: We report on a search for CP violation in the decay D ±→KS0π± using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 469fb-1 collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric energy e+e- storage rings. The CP-violating decay rate asymmetry ACP is determined to be (-0.44±0.13(stat)±0.10(syst))%, consistent with zero at 2.7σ and with the standard model prediction of (-0.332±0.006)%. This is currently the most precise measurement of this parameter. © 2011 American Physical Society.

Abstract: Using 347.5fb-1 of data recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II electron-positron collider, 244×103 signal events for the D +→K-π+e+νe decay channel are analyzed. This decay mode is dominated by the K̄(892)0 contribution. We determine the K̄*(892)0 parameters: mK(892)0=(895.4±0.2±0.2)MeV/c2, ΓK *(892)00=(46.5±0.3±0.2)MeV/c2, and the Blatt-Weisskopf parameter rBW=2.1±0.5±0.5(GeV/c) -1, where the first uncertainty comes from statistics and the second from systematic uncertainties. We also measure the parameters defining the corresponding hadronic form factors at q2=0 (rV=V(0)A 1(0)=1.463±0.017±0.031, r2=A 2(0)A1(0)=0.801±0.020±0.020) and the value of the axial-vector pole mass parametrizing the q2 variation of A1 and A2: mA=(2.63±0.10±0.13)GeV/c2. The S-wave fraction is equal to (5.79±0.16±0.15)%. Other signal components correspond to fractions below 1%. Using the D+→K -π+π+ channel as a normalization, we measure the D+ semileptonic branching fraction: B(D +→K-π+e+νe)= (4.00±0.03±0.04±0.09)×10-2, where the third uncertainty comes from external inputs. We then obtain the value of the hadronic form factor A1 at q2=0: A1(0)=0.6200±0. 0056±0.0065±0.0071. Fixing the P-wave parameters, we measure the phase of the S wave for several values of the Kπ mass. These results confirm those obtained with Kπ production at small momentum transfer in fixed target experiments. © 2011 American Physical Society.

Abstract: We report the results of a study of the exclusive charmless semileptonic decays, B+→η(′)ℓ+ν and B0→π-ℓ+ν, undertaken with approximately 464×106 BB̄ pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. The analysis uses events in which the signal B decays are reconstructed with a loose neutrino reconstruction technique. We obtain partial branching fractions for B+→ηℓ+ν and B0→π-ℓ+ν decays in three and 12 bins of q2, respectively, from which we extract the f+(q2) form-factor shapes and the total branching fractions B(B+→ηℓ +ν)=(0.36±0.05stat±0.04 syst)×10-4 and B(B0→π -ℓ+ν)=(1.42±0.05stat±0. 07syst)×10-4. We also measure B(B +→η′ℓ+ν)=(0.24±0. 08stat±0.03syst)×10-4. We obtain values for the magnitude of the CKM matrix element |Vub| using three different QCD calculations. © 2011 American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present measurements of the branching fractions, longitudinal polarization, and direct CP-violation asymmetries for the decays B +→ρ0K*+ and B +→f0(980)K*+ with a sample of (467±5)×106BB̄ pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We observe B+→ρ 0K*+ with a significance of 5.3σ and measure the branching fraction B(B+→ρ0K*+)=(4.6±1.0±0.4)×10-6, the longitudinal polarization fL=0.78±0.12±0.03, and the CP-violation asymmetry ACP=0.31±0.13±0.03. We observe B+→f0(980)K*+ and measure the branching fraction B(B+→f0(980)K *+)×B(f0(980) →π+π-)=(4.2±0.6±0.3) ×10-6 and the CP-violation asymmetry ACP=-0. 15±0.12±0.03. Abstract: We perform a Dalitz plot analysis of about 100000 Ds+ decays to K +K-π+ and measure the complex amplitudes of the intermediate resonances which contribute to this decay mode. We also measure the relative branching fractions of Ds+→K+K+π - and Ds+→K+K+K-. For this analysis we use a 384 fb-1 data sample, recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider running at center-of-mass energies near 10.58 GeV. © 2011 American Physical Society.

Abstract: We report the results of a study of the exclusive charmless semileptonic decays, B+→η(′)ℓ+ν and B0→π-ℓ+ν, undertaken with approximately 464×106 BB̄ pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. The analysis uses events in which the signal B decays are reconstructed with a loose neutrino reconstruction technique. We obtain partial branching fractions for B+→ηℓ+ν and B0→π-ℓ+ν decays in three and 12 bins of q2, respectively, from which we extract the f+(q2) form-factor shapes and the total branching fractions B(B+→ηℓ +ν)=(0.36±0.05stat±0.04 syst)×10-4 and B(B0→π -ℓ+ν)=(1.42±0.05stat±0. 07syst)×10-4. We also measure B(B +→η′ℓ+ν)=(0.24±0. 08stat±0.03syst)×10-4. We obtain values for the magnitude of the CKM matrix element |Vub| using three different QCD calculations. © 2011 American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present measurements of partial branching fractions of B→K +X, B→K0X, and B→π+X, where X denotes any accessible final state above the endpoint for B decays to charmed mesons, specifically for momenta of the candidate hadron greater than 2.34 (2.36) GeV for kaons (pions) in the B rest frame. These measurements are sensitive to potential new-physics particles which could enter the b→s(d) loop transitions. The analysis is performed on a data sample consisting of 383×106BB̄ pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- asymmetric energy collider. We observe the inclusive B→π+X process, and we set upper limits for B→K +X and B→K0X. Our results for these inclusive branching fractions are consistent with those of known exclusive modes, and exclude large enhancements due to sources of new physics. © 2011 American Physical Society.

Abstract: We report the result of a search for the rare decay B0→γγ in 426fb-1 of data, corresponding to 226×106 B0B ̄0 pairs, collected on the Υ(4S) resonance at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider using the BABAR detector. We use a maximum likelihood fit to extract the signal yield and observe 21-12+13 signal events with a statistical significance of 1.8σ. This corresponds to a branching fraction B(B0→γγ)=(1.7±1.1(stat.) ±0.2(syst.))×10-7. Based on this result, we set a 90% confidence level upper limit of B(B0→γγ)

Abstract: We present an analysis of exclusive charmless semileptonic B-meson decays based on 377×106 BB̄ pairs recorded with the B A BAR detector at the Υ(4S) resonance. We select four event samples corresponding to the decay modes B0→π-ℓ+ν, B +→π0ℓ+ν, B0→ρ -ℓ+ν, and B+→ρ0ℓ +ν and find the measured branching fractions to be consistent with isospin symmetry. Assuming isospin symmetry, we combine the two B→πℓν samples, and similarly the two B→ρℓν samples, and measure the branching fractions B(B0→π -ℓ+ν)=(1.41±0.05±0.07)×10 -4 and B(B0→ρ-ℓ+ν)=(1. 75±0.15±0.27)×10-4, where the errors are statistical and systematic. We compare the measured distribution in q2, the momentum transfer squared, with predictions for the form factors from QCD calculations and determine the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |V ub|. Abstract: We present a measurement of the branching fractions of the 22 decay channels of the B0 and B+ mesons to D̄(*)D(*)K, where the D(*) and D̄(*) mesons are fully reconstructed. Summing the 10 neutral modes and the 12 charged modes, the branching fractions are found to be B(B0→D̄(*)D(*)K)=(3.68±0. 10±0.24)% and B(B+→D̄(*)D(*)K)=(4. 05±0.11±0.28)%, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The results are based on 429fb-1 of data containing 471×106BB̄ pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. © 2011 American Physical Society.

Abstract: Based on 122×106Υ(3S) events collected with the BABAR detector, we have observed the Υ(13DJ) bottomonium state through the Υ(3S)→γγΥ(13DJ) →γγπ⊃+π⊃-Υ(1S) decay chain. The significance for the J=2 member of the Υ(13DJ) triplet is 5.8 standard deviations including systematic uncertainties. The mass of the J=2 state is determined to be 10164.5±0.8(stat)±0.5(syst)MeV/c2. We use the π⊃+π⊃- invariant mass distribution to confirm the consistency of the observed state with the orbital angular momentum assignment of the Υ(13DJ). Copyright © 2010 American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present a search for the rare decays B⊃+→K⊃+νν̄ and B0→K0νν̄ using 459×106 BB̄ pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Flavor-changing neutral-current decays such as these are forbidden at tree level but can occur through one-loop diagrams in the standard model (SM), with possible contributions from new physics at the same order. The presence of two neutrinos in the final state makes identification of signal events challenging, so reconstruction in the semileptonic decay channels B→D(⊃*)lν of the B meson recoiling from the signal B is used to suppress backgrounds. We set an upper limit at the 90% confidence level (CL) of 1.3×10⊃-5 on the total branching fraction for B⊃+→K⊃+νν̄, and 5.6×10⊃-5 for B0→K0νν̄. We additionally report 90% CL upper limits on partial branching fractions in two ranges of dineutrino mass squared for B⊃+→K⊃+νν̄. © 2010 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: Based on 122×106Υ(3S) events collected with the BABAR detector, we have observed the Υ(13DJ) bottomonium state through the Υ(3S)→γγΥ(13DJ) →γγπ⊃+π⊃-Υ(1S) decay chain. The significance for the J=2 member of the Υ(13DJ) triplet is 5.8 standard deviations including systematic uncertainties. The mass of the J=2 state is determined to be 10164.5±0.8(stat)±0.5(syst)MeV/c2. We use the π⊃+π⊃- invariant mass distribution to confirm the consistency of the observed state with the orbital angular momentum assignment of the Υ(13DJ). Copyright © 2010 American Physical Society.

Abstract: The absolute branching fractions for the decays Ds-→ℓ -ν̄ℓ (ℓ=e, μ, or τ) are measured using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 521fb -1 collected at center-of-mass energies near 10.58 GeV with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- collider at SLAC. The number of Ds- mesons is determined by reconstructing the recoiling system DKXγ in events of the type e+e-→DKXDs*-, where Ds*-→Ds-γ and X represents additional pions from fragmentation. The Ds-→ℓ-νℓ events are detected by full or partial reconstruction of the recoiling system DKXγℓ. The branching fraction measurements are combined to determine the Ds- decay constant fD s=(258.6±6.4±7.5)MeV, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. © 2010 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present a search for the decay B⊃+→a1+(1260)K⊃*0(892) . The data, collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, represent 465×106BB̄ pairs produced in e⊃+e⊃- annihilation at the energy of the Υ(4S). We find no significant signal and set an upper limit at 90% confidence level on the product of branching fractions B(B⊃+→a1+(1260)K⊃*0(892))×B(a1+(1260) →π⊃+π⊃-π⊃+) of 1.8×10⊃-6. © 2010 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We present a search for f(J)(2220) production in radiative J/ψ→γf(J)(2220) decays using 460 fb⁻¹ of data collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II e(+)e⁻ collider. The f(J)(2220) is searched for in the decays to K(+)K⁻ and K(S)⁰K(S)⁰. No evidence of this resonance is observed, and 90% confidence level upper limits on the product of the branching fractions for J/ψ→γf(J)(2220) and f(J)(2220)→K(+)K⁻(K(S)⁰K(S)⁰) as a function of spin and helicity are set at the level of 10⁻⁵, below the central values reported by the Mark III experiment.

Abstract: We report results from an updated study of the suppressed decays B-→DK- and B-→D*K- followed by D→K+π-, where D(*) indicates a D(*)0 or a D̄(*)0 meson, and D*→Dπ0 or D*→Dγ. These decays are sensitive to the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa unitarity triangle angle γ due to interference between the b→c transition B-→D(*)0K- followed by the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay D0→K+π-, and the b→u transition B-→D̄(*)0K- followed by the Cabibbo-favored decay D̄0→K+π-. We also report an analysis of the decay B-→D(*)π- with the D decaying into the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed mode D→K+π-. Our results are based on 467×106 Υ(4S) →BB̄ decays collected with the BABAR detector at SLAC. We measure the ratios R(*) of the suppressed ([K+π-]DK-/π-) to favored ([K-π+]DK-/π-) branching fractions as well as the CP asymmetries A(*) of those modes. We see indications of signals for the B-→DK- and B-→DDπ0*K- suppressed modes, with statistical significances of 2.1 and 2.2σ, respectively, and we measure: R DK=(1.1±0.6±0.2)×10-2,ADK=-0. 86±0.47-0.16+0.12, R(Dπ0)K*=(1.8±0.9±0.4) ×10-2,A(Dπ0)K*=+0.77±0.35±0.12,R(Dγ)K*= (1.3±1.4±0.8)×10-2,A(Dγ)K*=+0.36±0.94-0. 41+0.25, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Abstract: Using the entire sample of 467×106 Υ(4S)→BB̄ decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, we perform an analysis of B±→DK± decays, using decay modes in which the neutral D meson decays to either CP-eigenstates or non-CP-eigenstates. We measure the partial decay rate charge asymmetries for CP-even and CP-odd D final states to be A CP+=0.25±0.06±0.02 and ACP-=-0.09±0. 07±0.02, respectively, where the first error is the statistical and the second is the systematic uncertainty. The parameter ACP+ is different from zero with a significance of 3.6 standard deviations, constituting evidence for direct CP violation. We also measure the ratios of the charged-averaged B partial decay rates in CP and non-CP decays, RCP+=1.18±0. 09±0.05 and RCP-=1.07±0.08±0.04. We infer frequentist confidence intervals for the angle γ of the unitarity triangle, for the strong phase difference δB, and for the amplitude ratio rB, which are related to the B-→DK- decay amplitude by rBei(δB-γ)=A(B-→D̄0K-)/ A(B-→D0K-). Including statistical and systematic uncertainties, we obtain 0.24

Abstract: We perform a study of exclusive production of Ds+Ds-, Ds*+Ds-, and Ds*+Ds*- final states in initial-state-radiation events from e +e- annihilations at a center-of-mass energy near 10.58 GeV, to search for charmonium 1- states. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 525fb-1 and was recorded by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II storage ring. The Ds+Ds-, Ds*+Ds-, and Ds*+Ds*- mass spectra show evidence of the known ψ resonances. Limits are extracted for the branching ratios of the decays X(4260)→Ds (*)+Ds(*). © 2010 The American Physical Society.

Abstract: We report the measurement of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa CP-violating angle γ through a Dalitz plot analysis of neutral D-meson decays to K(S)(0) π+ π- and K(S)(0) K+ K- produced in the processes B∓ → DK∓, B∓ D* K∓ with D* → Dπ(0), Dγ, and B∓ → DK*∓ with K*∓ → K(S)(0) π∓, using 468 million BB pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider at SLAC. We measure γ = (68 ± 14 ± 4 ± 3)° (modulo 180°), where the first error is statistical, the second is the experimental systematic uncertainty, and the third reflects the uncertainty in the description of the neutral D decay amplitudes. This result is inconsistent with γ = 0 (no direct CP violation) with a significance of 3.5 standard deviations.
