AbstractOn the 18th September 1417, Matilda Burgin and Margaret Usshar were brought before the ecclesiastical court of the Bishop of Durham for attempting to enter Durham Cathedral in order to approach the shrine of St Cuthbert from which women were banned. So to enter, they put on masculine clothing and for these crimes they were punished with the public humiliation of wearing the offending clothing in full view of their community. This article will first examine the case of Matilda and Margaret, their arrest in Durham Cathedral and the social, spiritual and sartorial consequences of their very public punishment. It will then compare their experience with that of other medieval women and gender non-conforming people who were arrested in masculine dress. Finally, this article will examine the possible influence the popular religious literature of cross-dressing saints may have had on Matilda and Margaret. This article will ask whether Matilda and Margaret’s own personal devotion to St Cuthbert drove them to put on masculine clothing to see his shrine? We study the problem of predicting the next query to be recommended in interactive data exploratory analysis to guide users to correct content. Current query prediction approaches are based on sequence-to-sequence learning, exploiting past interaction data. However, due to the resource-hungry training process, such approaches fail to adapt to immediate user feedback. Immediate feedback is essential and considered as a signal of the user's intent. We contribute with a novel query prediction ensemble mechanism, which adapts to immediate feedback relying on multi-armed bandits framework. Our mechanism, an extension to the popular Exp3 algorithm, augments Transformer-based language models for query predictions by combining predictions from experts, thus dynamically building a candidate set during exploration. Immediate feedback is leveraged to choose the appropriate prediction in a probabilistic fashion. We provide comprehensive large-scale experimental and comparative assessment using a popular online literature discovery service, which showcases that our mechanism (i) improves the per-round regret substantially against state-of-the-art Transformer-based models and (ii) shows the superiority of causal language modelling over masked language modelling for query recommendations. Keyphrase extraction is a subtask of natural language processing referring to the automatic extraction of salient terms that semantically capture the key themes and topics of a document. Earlier literature reviews focus on classical approaches that employ various statistical or graph-based techniques; these approaches miss important keywords/keyphrases, due to their inability to fully utilize context (that is present or not) in a document, thus achieving low F1 scores. Recent advances in deep learning and word/sentence embedding vectors lead to the development of new approaches, which address the lack of context and outperform the majority of classical ones. Taking the above into account, the contribution of this review is fourfold: (i) we analyze the state-of-the-art keyphrase extraction approaches and categorize them upon their employed techniques; (ii) we provide a comparative evaluation of these approaches, using well-known datasets of the literature and popular evaluation metrics, such as the F1 score; (iii) we provide a series of insights on various keyphrase extraction issues, including alternative approaches and future research directions; (iv) we make the datasets and code used in our experiments public, aiming to further increase the reproducibility of this work and facilitate future research in the field. The ongoing debate surrounding special schools and inclusive education in Australia has come to the forefront since the recommendations of the 2023 Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability, where the Commissioners were split on the implementation of full educational inclusion and the elimination of special schools. The authors discuss the controversy surrounding segregated special education classes and schools, particularly considering the push for full inclusion. The concept of inclusion is examined through a brief review of national and international policies and academic and popular literature, including how the inclusion continuum is conceptualized by policymakers, academics, and families. Stakeholder perspectives on the complexities and challenges of implementing full inclusion in mainstream school settings offer differing experiences and opinions on what is possible. Lastly, by examining the nuances of the special school controversy, the authors provide recommendations on how best to meet the educational needs of all students, across the spectrum of abilities. The most contentious tenet of Husserl's phenomenology of feelings is his conclusion that there is an analogy between axiological reason and theoretical reason. Simply, Husserl asserts that the axiological validation of feelings is analogical to the theoretical validation of judgments. While the scholarship has debated the merits of Husserl's analogy over the last 120 years, this paper presents a new accurate interpretation, because it is the first to highlight how Husserl develops this analogy by most often comparing the fulfillment of judgments to the fulfillment of wish feeling intentions. Specifically, I examine how Husserl analogizes wish fulfillment to theoretical fulfillment at different times; in the 1901 Logical Investigations, in his 1908 Lectures on Ethics, and in 1910 manuscripts from Studien zur Struktur des Bewusstseins. In light of this original interpretation, I conclude by arguing – contra popular readings – that Husserl does not over‐intellectualize feelings and their validation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article draws from Stuart Hall and Sarah Banet-Weiser to examine how ‘orthodox’ and ‘dissident’ popular feminist literature cite the manosphere to reflect and (re)produce cultural norms about men, masculinity and, politically pressingly, the possible relations men can have with feminism. While orthodox feminism represents men as patriarchal threats to the realization of a feminist social order, dissident feminism represents men as natural threats to women and criticizes other feminists for refusing to accept the ‘reality’ that men and women are ‘naturally’ different. Despite this difference, each contributes to a feminist culture in which it is both ‘popular’ to extract insights about man as a general social category by making use of the manosphere, and in which the idea that men and feminism are necessarily antagonistic is central. This article charts the historical and literary origins of the schnorrer, a Yiddish term for 'proud beggar' and a character of Eastern European Jewish culture. It aims to shed light on the schnorrer's entrance as a protagonist in British popular literature in the work of Israel Zangwill, and to show its originality. To do so, it focuses mainly on the novella The King of Schnorrers (1894), in which the schnorrer holds the leading role, and on Children of the Ghetto (1892), in which the schnorrer is a secondary and yet essential character. By locating the schnorrer outside of the Ashkenazi ethno-social context, Zangwill carries out a refashioning of this figure and grounds him in a wider social and literary lineage. He turns him into a literary character who challenges Western capitalist societies, thanks to a multi-layered identity, conflicting contexts and plural literary genres. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Drawing on parish registers, records from the assizes, and an anonymous ballad, this article reconstructs the events surrounding the murder of John Clarke by his own master, silk weaver Richard Price. Price, it turns out, had killed before, and in many respects fits what we would today call a serial killer. The article thus examines the way parish registers might usefully be supplemented by legal and literary texts to get at not only the births, marriages, and deaths of parishioners in the aggregate but also their lived experience, how they responded to tragedy not on the nearby stage but in their neighborhood. The article thus argues for the importance of careful examination of the archives to understand the lives of ordinary people in the early modern period, and the article further suggests a symbiotic relationship between "big data" and microhistory. Participatory narratives are compelling, at least partly because of their ability to help players suspend disbelief in the fictional world in which they engage. Game makers have used the phrase "This is Not a Game" (TINAG) to capture the willingness of players to buy into such narratives in ways that promote productive roleplaying and authentic engagement. Although TINAG has permeated the academic and popular literature on gaming and immersive narratives for decades, there has not been a scientific grounding for the term that provides researchers support for a more rigorous study of the topic. This article makes two primary contributions. First, it provides a definition of the Perception of TINAG based on a systematic literature review of 50 articles that define or describe critical characteristics of TINAG: The Perception of TINAG is a player's acceptance that they are embedded in and able to influence a fictional story woven into the real world. Second, the paper develops and validates a survey instrument that researchers can use to measure the Perception of TINAG and its three unique components: (1) the player accepts that they are embedded in a fictional story, (2) the player believes their actions influence the narrative, and (3) the player perceives that the story is woven into the real world. We evaluated the instrument using exploratory factor analysis using expert reviewers and game players. This article presents a nuanced perspective on leadership-related popular literature, suggesting that it warrants attention from critical scholars due to its broad influence across various communities and contexts. Focusing specifically on retired Navy SEAL officers Jocko Willink and Leif Babin's books, Extreme Ownership (2017) and its sequel The Dichotomy of Leadership (2018), the study employs complexity leadership theory (CLT) to analyze combat leadership principles articulated in these works. Findings reveal a substantial alignment between Willink and Babin's practice-oriented framework and CLT, particularly evident in how CLT's leadership types incorporate these principles. In the context of the armed forces, enabling leadership heavily relies on the operational system, which sets the parameters for adaptive actions that enabling leadership seeks to promote within these constraints (e.g. standard operating procedures, disciplined training, and Commander's Intent). The study also suggests that Willink and Babin's books serve as a counterbalance to the romanticization of complexity and collective command, a phenomenon highlighted in previous research. Ideally, theory and practice converge, as demonstrated in this article. It shows that the practice-oriented insights of Willink and Babin find support in theoretical knowledge. The Spice Girls were a unique pop phenomenon, promoting feminist ideology while being dismissed as proponents of postfeminism and positioned as collaborators with the patriarchy. Drawing on music videos the band released during 1997, this article suggests that the band's queer choices, regarding the spice personas the band adopted, were overlooked. This article explores the spice personas presentation of femme embodiments using drag: subverting notions of femininity as natural and monolithic, and resisting femininity as ubiquitously disempowering. By highlighting the heterosexual bias and anti-sex undertones in postfeminism, this analysis generates a multifaceted reading of popular femme performances as female-to-femme drag. The French literature from the late 19th and early 20th centuries that can be classified as “space fiction” centered on missions to Mars and making contact with Martians. The topic’s appeal stems from scientific findings of the time (particularly the so-called Martian canals) as well as the traditional symbolism of the Roman god who gave the Red Planet its name. All authors who wrote about Mars during the “Belle Époque” were inspired, to varying degrees, by the writings of the eminent astronomer Camille Flammarion (both scientific and fictional). The article delves into the specifics of how Joseph Rosnyaîné, André Laurie, Georges Le Faure, Henry de Graffigny, Arnould Galopin, Gustave Le Rouge, and Jean de La Hire interpret the Martian theme in their works. It is demonstrated that the use of traditional materials for popular novels is mixed with a desire to update popular literature’s narrative strategies. Thus, The Extraordinary Adventures of a Russian Scientist Across the Solar System by Le Faure and Graffigny, written between 1888-1896, contrasts the “intergalactic” theme, which was novel in French literature, with its archaic interpretation. The tendency to mix genres, to combine the “merveilleux-scientifique” (scientific marvelous) with Gothic and vampire literature approaches, as well as to augment the story with the occult component, increases. The so-called “martian duology” by G. Le Rouge, which lays the foundation for the poetics of horror – so vital to the 20th-century popular reading – is among the most significant literary works. The modernist bent is particularly evident in J. de La Hire’s 1911 book The Mystery of the Fifteen, which foresaw the rise of the superman hero, a new type of hero for the popular novel (however, this hero did not gain popularity in France).

Tumour deposits (TDs) significantly impact colorectal cancer (CRC) prognosis. Integrating TDs into the TNM staging system can enhance individualized disease management. Keeping abreast of evolving TDs research is pivotal for clinical advancement. We comprehensively reviewed both recent and popular literature to grasp the field's essence. Subsequently, a data retrieval sourced articles on TDs in CRC for bibliometric analysis, spanning from 1 January 1935 to 30 April 2023. Bibliometrix software facilitated paper analysis and visualization. Bibliometric indicators, the trends and hotspots were determined. A total of 2147 articles were successfully retrieved. Brown G emerged as the most productive author, and the USA as the most prolific country. Central South University and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center led productivity. Bradford's law categorized 48 journals into zone 1. Keywords co‐occurrence analysis identified three main clusters: the application of TDs in TNM staging, the pathogenesis of TDs, and the assessment of TDs. The trend topic analysis highlighted research focused on refining TDs incorporation into tumour staging. TDs wield enduring medical significance, shaping ongoing research. Much literature focused on confirming TD's prognostic value and optimizing TNM integration. Additionally, it is worth highlighting that TD's enigmatic pathogenesis demands research priority, as it holds the potential to unveil concealed knowledge regarding their development. AbstractWhile literature on undergraduate student reading behavior is prevalent, there has been limited research on subject-specific leisure reading. Additionally, this type of research is often underrepresented in Library and Information Science (LIS) literature, despite its relevance. The authors of this study recognize the value of popular business reading titles. As such, the authors were interested in exploring the perspectives of students studying business to understand current attitudes toward popular reading. Consequently, this study aims to investigate the leisure reading habits of undergraduate business students and how this information can inform aspects of business librarianship. The authors surveyed business students enrolled in a required pre-major business course at Pennsylvania State University. The results reveal that a substantial proportion of business students enjoy leisure reading, often choosing books that align with their academic pursuits and personal interests. However, they frequently forgo reading due to the time constraints imposed by their studies. Overall, this study contributes to the literature on subject-specific leisure reading and seeks to determine whether popular business titles have a meaningful place in academic business libraries. Recommendations are provided on how to integrate such texts into librarianship and how to further investigate popular business titles and leisure reading among academic students. Language shapes diverse cultures and creates natural barriers between human societies. The landscape of nonprofit and philanthropic studies in non-English languages is barely charted, impeding the globalization of this research field. This project (a) describes the topics shared between English and Chinese scholarship on nonprofits and philanthropy and (b) explores why English scholarship is cited in Chinese journal articles from five aspects: rationale of scholarship, novelty, relevance, social network, and reputation. The English articles cited by Chinese scholars tend to: (a) focus on instrumentality but not expressive values, (b) develop rather than disrupt existing paradigms, and (c) be relevant to topics popular in Chinese literature and have authors with Chinese scholarly connections. In general, Chinese scholars tend to cite English articles that are value-neutral, non-disruptive, and native. Informed by Irving Horowitz's view of the Festschrift, this article adopts both a retrospective and a prospective approach to the work of the sociologist Bridget Fowler. On the one hand, it assesses some of the key characteristics and contributions of her three single-authored books: The Alienated Reader: Women and Popular Romantic Literature in the Twentieth Century (1991), Pierre Bourdieu and Cultural Theory (1997) and The Obituary as Collective Memory (2007). On the other, it takes cues from these books to develop a more forward-looking type of reflection that connects some recent sociological and anthropological research on 'the neoliberal university' to writing about hope and utopia. The article emphasises that Fowler is attentive not only to processes of social reproduction but also to what John Holloway terms 'cracks in the texture of domination', that is, to examples of freedom, resistance and the imagination of alternatives in popular culture and elsewhere. At the same time, it shows how thinking about utopia and hope can contribute to debates about 'the alienated academic' and the 'death' of universities. The article concludes that Fowler's sociology is, alongside its many other qualities, a valuable contribution to 're-learning hope', arguably one of the most important challenges facing us today. This article draws on evidence from a qualitative study of working-class readers in order to reflect on the ways in which readers can lay claim to, or can affirm a particular kind of meaningful relationship with, poetic texts. Drawing a lesson from the example of Bridget Fowler's account of the reading of popular romances, it argues for the need to take seriously the question of the 'uses' of literary and cultural products. An account which construes the relationship between readers and literary texts only in terms of the accumulation of cultural capital within the context of a wider symbolic economy risks losing sight of the ways in which popular practices of using and sharing poems can be discordant with both the rationality of symbolic exchange and the wider rationalities which are characteristic of capitalism. This article examines the relay translation of William Tufnell Le Queux's (1864–1927) Strange Tales of a Nihilist, which the prominent Chinese translator of nihilist fiction, Chen Jinghan 陳景韓 (1878–1965), completed based on Matsui Shōyō's 松居松葉 (1870–1933) Japanese rendering. By exploring the transcultural process through which a story of Russian nihilism traveled from Europe to East Asia, the author tests the translatability of the revolutionary structure of feeling across different cultures. The author reveals how English and Japanese media and literature inspired Chinese interpretations of Russian nihilism, and how a key Chinese translator channeled his own revolutionary commitments through intensive borrowing of traditional Chinese literary motifs and narrative devices. As a result, the Chinese vision of nihilism diverged from nihilism's Russian political connotations and was assimilated into a thrilling cultural topos of vengeful assassination plots in Chinese popular culture. Ultimately, this transculturation of revolutionary sentimental, which aroused sinicized emotions of love and revenge, not only generated public sympathy for nihilists in China but also motivated Chinese revolutionary actions. The history of the two primary institutions of thought and belief, scientific philosophy and theology, center their discourses on addressing the human inevitability of death. Crucial is how moments of death, as rhetorical situations that enable narrative and technical forms for assigning and responding to death, manifest in rhetorics that work to transition humanity away from fear and are followed by either rhetorics of transcendence of or comfort that embraces an afterlife. Rhetoric is a swivel moment between differentiated treatments of death – one seeking to avoid it, but when it finally arrives, the former embraces and assigns it meaning. Borrowing from both religious and secular illustrations, I argue for a conception of rhetoric as a moment of transition in spontaneous thought as death is permanently accompanied by fear. I demonstrate the case through analysis of two contemporary productions that explore the pre- and post-death narratives as transitions and transcendences: The Third Man Factor and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. Scientific history has many examples of profound statements that are later found to be unsubstantiated. The consequences of such misinformation can be dire. In the present article, we present a case where an unevidenced estimate of global lichen coverage proliferated through both scientific literature and popular media. We traced this estimate to a non-peer-reviewed publication from 1987. We found 76 academic articles (collectively cited 4125 times) and 13 other academic documents citing the statistic, citation chains without source attribution, and instances where the number or context was changed. We also found the statistic 37 times in popular media, which is especially concerning, given that these media communicate science to the broader public. We demonstrate how an unevidenced statement can spread, change through time, and ultimately be repeated without demand for evidence. We hope this case unplugs the telephone and provides a cautionary tale for researchers to ensure critical evaluation of citation and communication practices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article argues that Simone de Beauvoir's early essay Pyrrhus et Cinéas (1944) can be read as an articulation of a critically utopian ethics. It suggests that the ontology of action developed in Pyrrhus et Cinéas is an early case of Beauvoir's critical engagement with Hegel and, in particular, the Kojèvian reading popular among her existentialist contemporaries. Unlike Kojève, whose Marxist reading of Hegel suggested that he was theorising a teleological model of History, Beauvoir develops a critique of utopian models of History wherein freedom is an ultimate finality, arguing instead that freedom is to be found in action, and thus must be persistently renewed. This article closes by suggesting that the existential ethics Beauvoir develops from this model of freedom implies an account of utopia which is critical of orthodox socialist philosophies of history. In the era of artificial cognizance, context-aware decision-making problems have attracted significant attention. Contextual bandit addresses these problems by solving the exploration versus exploitation dilemma faced to provide customized solutions as per the user's liking. However, a high level of accountability is required, and there is a need to understand the underlying mechanism of the black box nature of the contextual bandit algorithms proposed in the literature. To overcome these shortcomings, an explainable AI (XAI) based FuzzyBandit model is proposed, which maximizes the cumulative reward by optimizing the decision at each trial based on the rewards received in previous observations and, at the same time, generates explanations for the decision made. The proposed model uses an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) to address the vague nature of arm selection in contextual bandits and uses a feedback mechanism to adjust its parameters based on the relevance and diversity of the features to maximize reward generation. The FuzzyBandit model has also been empirically compared with the existing seven most popular art of literature models on four benchmark datasets over nine criteria, namely recall, specificity, precision, prevalence, F1 score, Matthews Correlation Coefficient (MCC), Fowlkes--Mallows index (FM), Critical Success Index (CSI) and accuracy. Purpose: The oral literature of each region is considered a type of folk literature, which can be used to understand the different aspects of the culture and literature ruling that region and the way of thinking of its people through its analysis and investigation. Proverb is one of the components of popular literature. Some proverbs have a gender bias. In every culture, gender proverbs indicate the social status of men and women. In these proverbs, the society's expectations and demands of each gender (male and female) have been specified. Examining the place of women in common proverbs in the city of Dehaghan - one of the districts of Isfahan - can show the thinking and mentality of the people of this region about women. Method and Research: The purpose of this research, which was conducted in the field-library method, is to examine these proverbs based on cognitive distortions, which are considered a subset of cognitive errors and part of the topics of psychological science. Findings and Conclusions: Examining the proverbs based on the above-mentioned foundation will provide a detailed understanding of the position of women in this city. The results of this research show that some cognitive distortions were involved in the formation of gender proverbs in the city of Dehaghan, which include: all or nothing thinking, overgeneralization, hasty conclusions, Emotional reasoning, Should Statements, labeling. Background: Functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) has developed rapidly in recent years, and there are more and more studies on fNIRS. At present, there is no bibliometric analysis of the top 100 most cited articles on fNIRS research. Objective: To identify the top 100 most cited articles on fNIRS and analyze those most fundamental and popular articles through bibliometric research methods. Methods: The literature on fNIRS of web of science from 1990 to 2023 was searched and the top 100 most cited articles were identified by citations. Use the bibliometrix package in R studio and VOSviewer for data analysis and plotting to obtain the output characteristics and citation status of these 100 most cited articles, and analyze research trends in this field through keywords. Results: A total of 9,424 articles were retrieved from web of science since 1990. The average citation number of the 100 articles was 457.4 (range from 260 to 1,366). Neuroimage published the most articles (n = 31). Villringer, A. from Leipzig University had the largest number of top 100 papers. Harvard University (n = 22) conducted most cited articles. The United States, Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom had most cited articles, respectively. The most common keywords were near-infrared spectroscopy, activation, cerebral-blood-flow, brain, newborn-infants, oxygenation, cortex, fMRI, spectroscopy. The fund sources mostly came from National Institutes of Health Unitd States (NIH) and United States Department of Health Human Services (n = 28). Conclusion: Neuroimage was the most popular journal. The top countries, institutions, and authors were the United States, Harvard University, and Villringer, A., respectively. Researchers and institutions from North America and Europe contributed the most. Near-infrared spectroscopy, activation, cerebral-blood-flow, brain, newborn-infants, oxygenation, cortex, fmri, spectroscopy, stimulation, blood-flow, light-propagation, infants, tissue comprise the future research directions and potential topic hotspots for fNIRS. Metagenomic sequencing is a promising method that has the potential to revolutionize the world of pathogen detection and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance in food-producing environments. However, the analysis of the huge amount of data obtained requires performant bioinformatics tools and databases, with intuitive and straightforward interpretation. In this study, based on long-read metagenomics data of chicken fecal samples with a spike-in mock community, we proposed confidence levels for taxonomic identification and AMR gene detection, with interpretation guidelines, to help with the analysis of the output data generated by KMA, a popular k-mer read alignment tool. Additionally, we demonstrated that the completeness and diversity of the genomes present in the reference databases are key parameters for accurate and easy interpretation of the sequencing data. Finally, we explored whether KMA, in a two-step procedure, can be used to link the detected AMR genes to their bacterial host chromosome, both detected within the same long-reads. The confidence levels were successfully tested on 28 metagenomics datasets which were obtained with sequencing of real and spiked samples from fecal (chicken, pig, and buffalo) or food (minced beef and food enzyme products) origin. The methodology proposed in this study will facilitate the analysis of metagenomics sequencing datasets for KMA users. Ultimately, this will contribute to improvements in the rapid diagnosis and surveillance of pathogens and AMR genes in food-producing environments, as prioritized by the EU. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Mariah Carey is an American singer and songwriter; whose mother is white, but her father is black. In 2020, she released The Meaning of Mariah Carey retracks Carey’s life as a biracial woman. This article explains how she is discriminated and reacts to the discrimination. The theories employed are Post-National American Studies; Blank, Dabady, and Citro’s types of discrimination; and Aguirre and Turner’s reaction to discrimination. When she was a kid, teenager, and young adult, the discrimination she endures is more intentional and explicit. The discrimination becomes subtler and more indirect, as she has cemented her status as a musical icon. The fact that she is still discriminated even after she has reached the peak of her superstardom suggests that biracial discrimination can happen to any mixed-race person, regardless of their socioeconomic class. Discrimination comes from both sides of the race. In popular management literature corporations are sometimes loosely compared to cults. The comparison is a severe allegation as it implies the transgression of subordinate employees' integrity. This paper explores to what extent such comparisons with cults are warranted as well as the implications this has for the practice of corporate culture management. On grounds of the author's unique, first-hand experience in both corporate and cultic environments a retrospective autoethnographic (RAE) approach was chosen to further explore the supposed resemblance. The comparison is structured along Lifton's eight criteria of thought reform and reveals that although akin to cults in all aspects corporations also fundamentally differ due to the infeasibility, at least for now, of controlling the corporate environment in totalist fashion. This might explain why so many attempts to change corporate cultures fail as these initiatives are based on the anachronistic idea that culture change can be "implemented" by somehow "inculcating" employees with "company values." Many ideas and beliefs in a society are rooted in religion. How religion is reflected in society and culture is one of the interesting topics in the field of sociology of religion. The system of beliefs and values of the society is reflected in the literature and oral culture of the society. Proverbs, as one of the most important elements of oral literature, can be a reflection of the beliefs and attitudes of the society. In this study, an attempt was made to provide a relatively clear picture of how religion and its dimensions are represented in the popular literature of Gilan by examining Gilaki proverbs. This study was a descriptive and analytical study in which, while analyzing the content of 4562 proverbs in the East and West areas and the center of Gilan, 209 proverbs related to religion were selected. The data was categorized into several categories based on content and concepts. Based on the findings of the research, it can be said that the reflection of the four dimensions of belief (43%), rites and rituals and customs (24%), morality (16%) and Shariat (16%) are shown in the parables. It shows that in the popular culture of Gilan, besides paying attention to religious phenomena and rites and rituals, attention and emphasis is placed on the religious aspects and the functionalist role of religion in the society and the institutionalization of the spirit of religiosity and religious ethics in the society. Literature reviews lay the foundation for academic investigations, especially for early career researchers. However, in the planning phase, we generally lack clarity on approaches, due to which a lot of review articles are rejected or fail to create a significant impact. The systematic literature review (SLR) is one of the important review methodologies which is increasingly becoming popular to synthesize literature in any discipline in general and management in particular. In this article, we explain the SLR methodology and provide guidelines for performing and documenting these studies. Through systematic processes, these reviews offer suggestions to synthesize literature to identify research gaps and indicate research directions. Justice has been an aspiration and, at the same time, a temptation for humans since the beginning. The tendency to resolve disputes in a simple and even brutal manner has been progressively replaced by the creation of a system of rules, useful to compress and eliminate the excesses of a restorative approach in a rebalancing function, often governed by revenge. Revengeful action, however, has remained in common perception as a more effective remedy than that provided by the norm and has continued to influence the actions of the servants of the law themselves. The figure of the "dirty" detective has become popular in noir literature, bringing with it all the suffering and uncertainty associated with the coexistence of justice and revenge as a means of restoring balance. We present a study of the short maturity asymptotics for Asian options in a jump-diffusion model with a local volatility component, where the jumps are modeled as a compound Poisson process. The analysis for out-of-the-money Asian options is extended to models with Lévy jumps, including the exponential Lévy model as a special case. Both fixed and floating strike Asian options are considered. Explicit results are obtained for the first-order asymptotics of the Asian options prices for a few popular models in the literature: the Merton jump-diffusion model, the double-exponential jump model, and the Variance Gamma model. We propose an analytical approximation for Asian option prices which satisfies the constraints from the short-maturity asymptotics, and test it against Monte Carlo simulations.
