CBDC Field Research Insights for the 2023 Report, “CBDC: Expanding Financial Inclusion or Deepening the Divide? Exploring Design Choices that Could Make a Difference”The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), India’s central bank, announced the pilot launch of the Digital Rupee (e₹), a central bank digital currency (CBDC), in October 2022. The first pilot Digital Rupee in the wholesale segment (e₹-W) began on November 1, 2022, and over the next few months, RBI plans to launch the Digital Rupee in the retail segment (e₹-R) for customers and merchants.

This research investigates the creation, analysis, and assessment of nanostructured catalysts designed specifically for sustainable energy conversion purposes. Nanostructured catalysts were produced by a modified sol-gel technique, employing different ratios of precursor materials and reaction conditions. The morphological analysis showed clear disparities among the catalysts that were manufactured. Catalyst 3 had the most favorable attributes, such as a substantial surface area and pore volume. Catalyst 3 exhibited exceptional electrochemical performance, showcasing remarkable activity and selectivity. It achieved high current density and faradaic efficiency while maintaining low overpotential. The stability tests demonstrated the durability of Catalyst 3, as it showed very little decline in electrochemical performance after several cycles. These results emphasize the need of methodical tuning of synthesis parameters to customize nanostructured catalysts for particular energy conversion applications. In the future, it is important to concentrate on improving the methods used to create something and discovering new combinations of substances that can speed up the process of converting energy in a way that is efficient and does not harm the environment. Nanostructured catalysts have the potential to significantly contribute to the advancement of clean energy technology and the reduction of global environmental consequences by tackling these difficulties.

This research examines the profound effects of integrating IoT-enabled predictive maintenance in sustainable transportation fleets. By using real-time sensor data, this implementation aims to enhance fleet dependability and operational efficiency. The fleet, including a variety of vehicles such as electric buses, hybrid cars, electric trucks, CNG-powered vans, and hybrid buses, is constantly monitored using IoT sensors that capture important characteristics like engine temperature, battery voltage, and brake wear percentages. The predictive maintenance algorithms adapt maintenance schedules in response to live sensor data, enabling a proactive strategy that tackles prospective problems before they result in major failures. The examination of the maintenance records reveals prompt actions, showcasing the system’s efficacy in reducing operational interruptions and improving the overall dependability of the fleet. Moreover, the examination of percentage change confirms the system’s flexibility, demonstrating its capacity to anticipate fluctuations in engine temperature, battery voltage, and brake wear. The findings highlight the system’s ability to adapt to various operating situations and its contribution to lowering maintenance expenses while enhancing operational effectiveness. The established approach incorporates ethical issues, such as data security and privacy, to ensure responsible adoption of IoT technology. This study has broader ramifications beyond the particular dataset, providing a detailed plan for incorporating IoTenabled predictive maintenance into contemporary transportation infrastructures. The study’s findings offer valuable insights into the potential of proactive maintenance strategies to transform the transportation industry towards sustainability. This contributes to a future where fleets operate with increased efficiency, reduced environmental impact, and improved reliability.

This research use a life cycle assessment (LCA) paradigm to investigate the environmental effects of plastic waste management practices. The environmental impacts of these processes are measured using experimental data. The acquisition of raw materials, particularly in plastic manufacturing, results in considerable environmental consequences, including an energy expenditure of 1200 MJ and the release of 300 kg of CO2. Likewise, waste processing activities, such as plastic shredding and molding, need 1500 MJ of energy and produce 400 kg of CO2 emissions. The operational lifespan of the product is underscored in its usage phase, wherein Plastic Product A and Plastic Component B exhibit cumulative energy consumption of 100 MJ/year and 120 MJ/year, alongside emissions of 20 kg CO2/year and 25 kg CO2/year, respectively, thereby accentuating the significance of a product’s lifecycle. The end-of-life phase underscores the variety in recycling rates, emphasizing the need for more effective recycling techniques. This comprehensive LCA methodology delineates critical areas for improvement, directing sustainable plastic waste management methods and fostering environmentally responsible decision-making within the sector. The results provide a more sustainable method for handling plastic garbage and diminishing its ecological impact.

In the present investigation, influence of the chemical reaction, magnetic field and slip on micropolar fluid flow via a porous wedge in the existence of Hall and ion-slip are examined. The pertinent highly non-linear PDEs are changed into an arrangement of non-linear coupled ODEs by utilizing similarity transformation. The equations were calculated using the 'Keller Box Method' (KBM). The numerical data for skin-friction coefficients, Nusselt number, Sherwood number, velocities, thermal and concentration fields are portrayed by graphs for various existing parameters and analyzed in detail. The heat transfer characteristics of working magnetic fluid escalated with acceleration in slip and power-law parameters. This study explores the spatial patterns of particulate matter (PM) in the megacity of Delhi. A GRIMM aerosol spectrometer is used to analyze different aerodynamic diameters (PM10, PM2.5, PM1.0), inhalable, thoracic, and alveolic particles, and black carbon (BC) at six prominent locations in Delhi during summer and winter. Additionally, metals (Pb, Fe, Ca, Al, Zn), along with silicon and sulfur, are analyzed using an ED-XRF spectrometer over the sampling locations during the summer season. The sampling site data are interpolated using the Kriging method to generate spatial maps to explore the air pollution problem in Delhi. East Delhi is observed to be the most polluted site, while Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is the least polluted site. We further observe a high correlation between Al-Fe, Al-Ca, Zn-Pb, Ca-Fe, and S-Zn, indicating their common source of emission. Aerosols are also found to be highly enriched with metals like Al, S, Fe, Zn, and Pb, suggesting strong anthropogenic sources of these metals. Construction activities, resuspended dust, an increased number of vehicles, faulty agricultural practices, and soil could be recognized as major sources of the particulate concentration in an urban area like Delhi. Indiscriminate use of mineral fertilizers has a broad negative impact on soil health. Because of the above, there is an urgent need to search for natural organic alternatives, including using soil microbial resources to replenish soil nutrients for enhanced Agri productivity vis a vis sustainably maintaining soil health. The nitrogen-fixing rhizobacteria (NFR) are such type of bacteria which fix gaseous atmospheric nitrogen in the soil and in nodules of certain plant species in considerable amounts that are readily available for plants' uptake and may be considered as a viable alternative source of mineral nitrogen application. The present study was conducted to isolate the most potent nitrogen-fixing bacteria from the litchi rhizosphere. Hence, Five NFR (NFR1 to NFR5) were isolated from the rhizosphere of litchi orchard of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhgalpur, India, based on their ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen in a nitrogen-free mineral salt medium. NFR2 was found to be the most potent in fixing atmospheric nitrogen (11.31 mg N per gram carbon source)among all the isolated rhizobacterial strains. Hence, on the basis of biological nitrogen fixation ability, the isolate NFR2 was subjected to 16S ribosomal RNA (16S rRNA) gene sequencing for molecular characterization. Based on 16S rDNA sequence analysis, NFR2 showed the closest sequence homology with Beijerinckia fluminensis and was identified and reported as Beijerinckia fluminensis strain BAUMS11, Accession number MN533953. The study noticeably indicated that the B. fluminensis strain BAUMS11 was found most efficient in fixing gaseous atmospheric nitrogen and may be used for the manufacturing of nitrogenous biofertilizer, which can fix atmospheric nitrogen to the tune-up to 30 kg N ha-1yr-1. Ylidineketonitrile 2 with chlorodifluoromethyl (A = Cl) demonstrated a strong solvent dependence reaction with primary amines to form either 1-N-alkylated-3,5-disubstituted-2-pyridones or 2-N-alkylated-3, 5-trisubstituted pyridines. The methodology was tested for its scope with primary amines and synthesized 29 derivatives in good to excellent yield. Ylidineketonitrile 2e preferrentially forms pyridone derivatives in the majority of the solvents screened except trifluoroethanol, where chemoselective formation of 2-aminopyridine derivatives was observed.
