Child sexual abuse is a detrimental experience that could cause deleterious mental-health outcomes in the survivor. Decades of research have revealed the complex nature of child sexual abuse in terms of its characteristics, dynamics, causes, and consequences. Efficacious psychological interventions for managing child sexual abuse-related outcomes in children exist. However, it is now well recognized that interventions alone are not enough for recovery from sexual or any other type of trauma; it requires an entire human service system that is well-informed about trauma and its effects. Given the lack of awareness about the consequences of child sexual abuse and the stigmatization that exists in the Indian context, which significantly contributes toward the evolution and severity of trauma outcomes in victimized children, this paper is an attempt to discuss the relevance of adopting a trauma-informed approach while responding to child sexual abuse. Ethics are codes of conduct regulating an individual or a profession. Ethical issues that occur from time to time are often complicated, multidimensional and do not have definite solutions at all times. The areas in which clinical psychologists face ethical and legal challenges today include professional competence, informed consent, confidentiality, boundary issues, psychometry, e-therapy, termination, documentation, research ethics and forensic participation. To enhance ethical behaviour, a system needs to be developed by which therapists can be held answerable for their actions. Treatment of M(CO) 6 (M = Cr, W) with (Ph 2 PMe 2 Si) 3 CH in toluene at elevated temperatures resulted in the isolation of pale green [Cr(CO) 3 {(Ph 2 PMe 2 Si) 3 CH}] and pale brown [W(CO) 3 {(Ph 2 PMe 2 Si) 3 CH}] in high yield. These complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, TGA, mass spectrometry, and IR, electronic, 1 H and 31 P{ 1 H} NMR spectroscopy. The complexes have pseudo octahedral geometry around the metal atom with tridentate coordination of the multidentate ligand. The six-membered MPSiCSiP metallacycles are shown to have high fluxionality at room temperature on the NMR time scale. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Several studies have emphasized on the role rehabilitation, but there are very few studies that have focused on a comprehensive rehabilitation as compared to vocational training. This study described the effect of a comprehensive intervention of cognitive retraining and vocational training when compared to the vocational training alone in the patients of chronic schizophrenia. A group of 12 patients diagnosed as schizophrenia as per ICD 10 for a minimum of 5 years (chronic cases) between the age range of 30 and 45 years were taken who were on the maintenance dozes of antipsychotic medication, staying in the hospital (Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi) for 6 months, having significant cognitive deficits and compliant to intervention. Six of them were assigned to comprehensive training group, and six were for the vocational training group. The results indicated that though there were no significant differences between the comprehensive group and the vocational group, but there had been significant improvement within the each group from baseline through final assessment. Background & objectives: The population of elderly is growing globally and so are the physical illnesses and psychiatric morbidity. This study was planned to assess the prevalence and patterns of psychiatric morbidity amongst rural older adults in Lucknow, north India. Methods: A survey was conducted in subjects aged 60 yr and above to identify the cases of psychiatric morbidity in rural population from randomly selected two revenue blocks of Lucknow district, Uttar Pradesh, India. All subjects were screened through Hindi Mental Status Examination (HMSE) and Survey Psychiatric Assessment Schedule (SPAS) to identify for the suspected cases of cognitive and the psychiatric disorders, respectively. The subjects screened positive on HMSE and SPAS were assessed in detail on Cambridge Mental Disorder of the Elderly Examination-Revised (CAMDEX-R) and Schedule for Clinical Assessment in Neuropsychiatry (SCAN), to diagnose cognitive disorders and psychiatric disorders (other than the cognitive), respectively on the basis of International Classification of Diseases-10 (ICD-10) diagnostic guidelines. Results: The overall prevalence of psychiatric morbidity in rural older adults was found to be 23.7 per cent (95% CI=21.89-25.53). Mood (affective) disorders were the commonest (7.6%, 95% CI=6.51-8.80), followed by mild cognitive impairment (4.6%, 95% CI=3.72-5.53), mental and behavioural disorders due to substance use (4.0%, 95% CI=3.17-4.87) and dementia (2.8%) [Alzheimer's disease (2.4%, 95% CI=1.81-3.16) and vascular (0.4%, 95% CI=0.16-0.73)]. Interpretation & conclusions: Overall prevalence of psychiatric morbidity amongst rural elderly in this study was found to be less in comparison to those reported in earlier studies from India. However, prevalence pattern of different disorders was found to be similar. Therefore, it appears that a stringent methodology, reined case criteria for diagnosis and assessment by trained professionals restrict false diagnosis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
