The present automotive vehicles have almost 75 percentage of electronics part for many applications such as air bag system, door opening system, door lock systems. The proposed system focuses on measuring various physical system’s sensor readings and predicting other subsystem function by calibration. If any hardware system gets futile in the vehicle or if any dangerous gas is released or if engine temperature becomes high by load current, the fault can be identified. The sensor readings are uninterruptedly transmitted to the dash board part via the engine part core. In dash board, comparison of the threshold is done to identify sensor failures. The trouble shooting information to the user is displayed in the dash board. This proposed work will sustain a vehicle system to be in good working condition to overcome accidents.

5G networks promised to provide increased coverage, capacity and end-user throughput. Advanced antenna radiating system plays a very important role for the establishment of 5G networks. In this work, a novel low size profile enforced terminating boundary patch antenna array is proposed. This antenna array achieves a Hybrid beam steering with a low size through PI axis posts up to 33%. The antenna has a three-layer structure where a single layer PTFE composite based Rogers 5880 is utilized with a dimension of 15× 16 mm2. It operates at frequency band of 35 GHz with a wide bandwidth of 530 MHz and with a mean return loss of -28 dB. This radiating device is designed with the microstrip feed for the massive-MIMO 5G requirements.

The photodegradation and mineralization efficiency (technical evaluation) and process economics (economic evaluation) are important in selection of a particular type of TiO2 for large-scale commercial applications involving heterogeneous photocatalysis. In this paper, techno-economic evaluation of indigenous anatase TiO2 (ana-TiO2) and aeroxide p25 TiO2 (p25-TiO2) photocatalyst for heterogeneous photocatalysis of basic yellow 28 (BY28) dye solution is studied. The characterization of photocatalysts was done through X-ray diffraction, Tauc’s plot, and point of zero charge. The important parameters related to heterogeneous photocatalytic process like photocatalyst loading, UV intensity, and A/V (area-to-volume) ratio were studied and optimized as per ability of photocatalyst for the full utilization of light illumination. BY28 dye degradation depicted pseudo-first-order kinetics under UV radiations and solar light. Electric energy per order and collector area per order was also evaluated for the two systems. Finally, economic evaluation of these two types of TiO2 was done in terms of total material and energy cost involved for 90% removal of BY28 dye from 1 m3 solution under UV radiations and solar light. Ana-TiO2 found to be more economical than p25-TiO2 in terms of operating cost involved for photocatalytic degradation of BY28 dye. Alternatively, photocatalytic unit using p25-TiO2 showed higher treatment capacity as compared to ana-TiO2 due to higher photodegradation and mineralization efficiency of the former. Finally, a method for selection of particular type of TiO2 (p25-TiO2 or ana-TiO2) for a photocatalytic unit is suggested by considering volumetric capacity of photocatlytic unit, volume of effluent generated per day by the dyeing unit, photodegradation efficiency of TiO2, and process economics. This study would be useful for the decision making authorities in profitable selection of particular type of TiO2 for treating given volume of effluent.

A distinct type of load draws non-sinusoidal current from the main supply, which cause harmonic disturbance and reduce the power quality. The major cause of harmonic distortion is this nonlinear load in a power system. In addition, the nonlinear loads causing harmonic distortion can interrelate harmfully with power system equipment, mainly motors, capacitors and transformers causing extra losses. In order to minimise these extra loses due to harmonic disturbance; the shunt active power filters (SAPFs) is investigated to maximize power quality. This paper presents the control method for extracting the reference currents for SAPF using instantaneous reactive power theory (IRPT). It has been evaluated and their performance is brought to a comparison under distorted supply and nonlinear load circumstances. This new speculation gives a general description of IRPT that is applicable for balanced or unbalanced loads and sinusoidal or non-sinusoidal waveforms in three-phase power systems compensation or non-compensation zero-sequence currents and voltages.

Face recognition has become a valuable and routine forensic tool used by criminal investigators. It is an important area of computer vision research and has gained significant interest in recent years. Efforts in improving security, such as automatic surveillance and the use of biometrics in identification, are partly responsible for this increased interest. However, several challenges remain in improving the accuracy of face recognition under illumination changes, variations in pose, occlusions, and image resolution. This paper presents performance comparison of face recognition using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Normalized Principal Component Analysis (N-PCA). The experiments are carried out on the ORL, Indian face database and Georgia Tech face database which contain variability in expression, pose, and facial details. The results obtained for the two methods have been compared by varying the number of training images and it has been found that as the number of training images increases efficiency also increases. This paper presents the bacterial foraging(BF) optimization control technique for designing the integral controller gain, which is applied to AGC in interconnected multi-area system under the deregulated environment (considering all practical aspects) to control the tie line power and frequency of the interconnected system. Each area's comprises of one hydro and one thermal generating station. Further each area has two GENCO's and two DISCO's which have bilateral contract with each other. Three different cases of disturbances in the system are considered and controllers gain are optimized using BFO. The optimized gain is used in the system to improve its performance. MATLAB-SIMULINK is used to study the performance of the system.

The Intel® Xeon Phi™ coprocessor has software prefetching instructions to hide memory latencies and special store instructions to save bandwidth on streaming non-temporal store operations. In this work, we provide details on compiler-based generation of these instructions and evaluate their impact on the performance of the Intel® Xeon Phi™ coprocessor using a wide range of parallel applications with different characteristics. Our results show that the Intel® Composer XE 2013 compiler can make effective use of these mechanisms to achieve significant performance improvements.
