High-speed electromagnetic valves of gas distribution devices are used in modern missile and space technology as jet micro-motors of the executive elements of missile stabilization systems, as well as to control the movement of spacecrafts in space. The problem of creating such valves which are simple and reliable in the operation is relevant. In this work, it is proposed at the development and design stage to perform computer modelling of mutually coupled electromechanical processes, such as: distribution of transient electromagnetic field, transients in anelectric circuit, and movement of an electromagnet armature. Besides, the calculation of the force with which the compressed gas acts on the corresponding structural elements of the valve is proposed to be performed by solving the system of Navier-Stokes equations. All problems are solved by numerical methods in axisymmetrical formulation with the corresponding initial and boundary conditions. Improvement of the accuracy of electromagnetic calculations and taking into account the movement of the armature of an electromagnet in the process of multiphysics numerical simulation is achievedusing so-called tunable elastic meshes. The paper presents a comparative analysis of the numerical results obtained for several designs of electromagnets. The features of the dynamics of high-speed electromagnets of gas distribution valves during on and off operations are analyzed, the corresponding dynamic characteristics calculated using the proposed technique are presented. Быстродействующие электромагнитные клапаны газораспределительных устройств применяются в современной ракетно-космической технике в качестве реактивных микродвигателей исполнительных органов систем стабилизации ракет, а также для управления движением космическими летательными аппаратами в пространстве. Проблема создания простых в эксплуатации и надежных в работе указанных клапанов является актуальной. В настоящей работе предлагается на стадии разработки и проектирования выполнять компьютерное моделирование взаимосвязанных электромеханических процессов, таких как: распределение нестационарного электромагнитного поля, переходные процессы в электрической цепи, движение якоря электромагнита. При этом расчет силы, с которой сжатый газ действует на соответствующие конструктивные элементы клапана, предлагается выполнять путем решения системы уравнений Навье-Стокса. Все задачи решаются численными методами в осесимметричной постановке с соответствующими начальными и граничными условиями. Повышение точности электромагнитных расчетов и учет движения якоря электромагнита в процессе мультифизического численного моделирования достигается благодаря использованию так называемых перестраиваемых упругих сеток. В работе приведен сравнительный анализ численных результатов, полученных для нескольких конструкций электромагнитов. Проанализированы особенности динамики быстродействующих электромагнитов газораспределительных клапанов при выполнении операций включения и отключения, приведены соответствующие динамические характеристики, рассчитанные по предложенной методике.

An analytical expression is obtained that makes it possible to calculate the volumetric density of sources of transient heating of shunt windings, in which as they are heated up, the volumetric density of sources integrally decreases, but at the same time, at points with higher temperature, the source density is higher then at points with lower temperature. Using the example of temperature calculations of miniature gas distributors, it is shown that at forced heating of the electromagnets in shunt windings significant temperature drops, reaching 35% of the maximum temperature, as well as a slight effect on the heating of surrounding objects, in particular, steel of the magnetic core, are observed.

In this paper an analysis of state-of-the-art and an attempt to generalize basic principles of multiphysical (coupled) computer simulation of various electromagnetic devices (electrical machines, induction heaters, actuators, electrophysical devices, etc.) are presented. The analysis is based on the wide author’s experience of the various practical problems solution regarding design and operation of the variety of innovative machines and devices as well as on research works carried out by other researchers., У статті наведено аналіз стану проблеми та здійснено спробу узагальнення основних принципів комп’ютерного моделювання зв’язаних процесів у різноманітних електромагнітних пристроях (електричні машини, індукційні нагрівачі, актуатори, електрофізичне обладнання та ін.). Наведений аналіз побудовано на досвіді автора з розв’язання різноманітних прикладних задач стосовно проектування та експлуатації сучасних електричних машин і апаратів, а також на роботах інших дослідників., В статье приведен анализ состояния вопроса и предпринята попытка обобщения основных принципов компьютерного моделирования связанных процессов в различных электромагнитных устройствах (электрические машины, индукционные нагреватели, актуаторы, электрофизическое оборудование и др.). Приведенный анализ основан на опыте автора по решению различных прикладных задач применительно к проектированию и эксплуатации современных электрических машин и аппаратов, а также на работах других исследователей.

A finite element technique and computer code for the numerical analysis of 3D transient electromagnetic fields and temperature distribution due to negative sequence currents in large synchronous turbogenerator rotors are developed. Electromagnetic-thermal phenomena in a 300 MVA class turbogenerator rotor during a line-to-line short circuit on two phases of the machine are numerically investigated. Effect of the various conditions of the rotor cooling on its thermal state is studied. Numerical results obtained can be used for the computer simulation of the thermo-mechanical behaviour of the rotor.

A list of main coupled electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical phenomena to be taken into account in numerical analysis of electrical machines and other electromagnetic devices is proposed. A number of well-known and “exotic” physical effects are listed and briefly analyzed. A detailed diagram depicting multiphysical processes is presented. An example devoted to illustration of the presented analysis utilization is considered.
