Single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) have gained significant interest for their potential in biomedicine and nanoelectronics. The functionalization of SWCNTs with single‐stranded DNA (ssDNA) enables the precise control of SWCNT alignment and the development of optical and electronic biosensors. This study addresses the current gaps in the field by employing high‐throughput systematic selection, enriching high‐affinity ssDNA sequences from a vast random library. Specific base compositions and patterns are identified that govern the binding affinity between ssDNA and SWCNTs. Molecular dynamics simulations validate the stability of ssDNA conformations on SWCNTs and reveal the pivotal role of hydrogen bonds in this interaction. Additionally, it is demonstrated that machine learning could accurately distinguish high‐affinity ssDNA sequences, providing an accessible model on a dedicated webpage (http://service.k‐medai.com/ssdna4cnt). We investigated whether radiomics of computed tomography (CT) image data enables the differentiation of bone metastases not visible on CT from unaffected bone, using pathologically confirmed bone metastasis as the reference standard, in patients with gastric cancer. In this retrospective study, 96 patients (mean age, 58.4 ± 13.3 years; range, 28–85 years) with pathologically confirmed bone metastasis in iliac bones were included. The dataset was categorized into three feature sets: (1) mean and standard deviation values of attenuation in the region of interest (ROI), (2) radiomic features extracted from the same ROI, and (3) combined features of (1) and (2). Five machine learning models were developed and evaluated using these feature sets, and their predictive performance was assessed. The predictive performance of the best-performing model in the test set (based on the area under the curve [AUC] value) was validated in the external validation group. A Random Forest classifier applied to the combined radiomics and attenuation dataset achieved the highest performance in predicting bone marrow metastasis in patients with gastric cancer (AUC, 0.96), outperforming models using only radiomics or attenuation datasets. Even in the pathology-positive CT-negative group, the model demonstrated the best performance (AUC, 0.93). The model's performance was validated both internally and with an external validation cohort, consistently demonstrating excellent predictive accuracy. Radiomic features derived from CT images can serve as effective imaging biomarkers for predicting bone marrow metastasis in patients with gastric cancer. These findings indicate promising potential for their clinical utility in diagnosing and predicting bone marrow metastasis through routine evaluation of abdominopelvic CT images during follow-up. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, many therapists and their clients found it uncomfortable being indoors with others for extended periods. As a result, some mental health counselors pivoted to having their sessions outdoors, referred to as "Walk and talk therapy". This qualitative phenomenological study aimed to understand adult clients' (n = 7) lived experiences of walk and talk therapy. Two themes emerged: (a) the rhythm of walking and talking and (b) the disharmony of walking and talking. Each theme had corresponding subthemes. Purpose: Low response rates remain a challenge for collecting patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs). This review aimed to identify and synthesise the strategies to increase PROM response rates in orthopaedic populations or settings that have been evaluated in the peer‐reviewed literature. Such a synthesis can guide future research and provide a structure for future implementation evaluations. Methods: We completed a scoping review of English‐language articles in peer‐reviewed journals published from 1 January 2013 to 30 October 2023 in PubMed, Embase via Ovid, and Scopus. Eligible articles had a primary focus on patients with orthopaedic conditions and/or described activities in an orthopaedic practice setting and had to present numeric data on response rates for (a) two or more strategies or (b) before and after a specific strategy. Results: Across 27 papers, the largest category of evaluated strategies was 'administration modality' (n = 16). Other categories of strategies included 'administration setting' (n = 5), 'manual effort' (n = 5), 'reminder' (n = 4), 'invitation' (n = 3), 'automation' (n = 3), 'education and training' (n = 3), 'measure characteristic' (n = 3), 'incentive' (n = 2), and 'administration frequency' (n = 1). Eighteen of 23 studies that completed significance testing identified a significant difference in favour of an intervention, but there were mixed findings across studies within categories. Conclusion: Opportunities exist to evaluate categories of strategies beyond the technical modality of administration (e.g. paper vs. electronic) to increase response rates. Additionally, the review findings highlight the need for increased standardisation of terminology and improved specification of strategies and response rate outcomes for systematic implementation evaluations and cross‐institutional comparisons. Copy number variation (CNV) is a primary source of structural variation in the human genome, leading to several disorders. Therefore, analyzing neonatal CNVs is crucial for managing CNV-related chromosomal disabilities. However, genomic waves can hinder accurate CNV analysis. To mitigate the influences of the waves, we adopted a machine learning approach and developed a new method that uses a modified log R ratio instead of the commonly used log R ratio. Validation results using samples with known CNVs demonstrated the superior performance of our method. We analyzed a total of 16,046 Korean newborn samples using the new method and identified CNVs related to 39 genetic disorders were identified in 342 cases. The most frequently detected CNV-related disorder was Joubert syndrome 4. The accuracy of our method was further confirmed by analyzing a subset of the detected results using NGS and comparing them with our results. The utilization of a genome-wide single nucleotide polymorphism array with wave offset was shown to be a powerful method for identifying CNVs in neonatal cases. The accurate screening and the ability to identify various disease susceptibilities offered by our new method could facilitate the identification of CNV-associated chromosomal disease etiologies. This study introduces a simplified fabrication method for implementing a TFT array on a cylindrical fiber, using only four masks and a low‐temperature process below 120 ℃. To overcome the limitations of the one‐dimensional cylindrical fiber structure, the study emphasizes the design and implementation of a three‐dimensional backplane, utilizing the side or bottom surfaces of the fiber to address patterning and shadowing challenges. Cyanidin 3-O-glucoside (C3G), which has various health-promoting functions, is contained in black soybean (BSB). In Japan and Korea, BSB is cooked with rice and the cooked rice appears purplish in colour. In this study, BSB was cooked with glutinous rice, non-glutinous rice, and high-amylose rice. The amount of C3G detected in high-amylose rice was greater than that detected in glutinous rice, suggesting that C3G combined more efficiently with amylose than with amylopectin. Pancreatin induced the liberation of starch/C3G complexes from the purplish cooked rice, and rate of the liberation was in the following order; glutinous rice < non-glutinous rice < high-amylose rice. The amylose/C3G complexes liberated from high-amylose rice was hydrolysed slowly, while the amylopectin/C3G complexes liberated from glutinous rice were hydrolysed into smaller amylopectin/C3G complexes that were difficult to further hydrolysis. Thus, C3G may be useful for preparing foods whose starch hydrolysis is slow. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
