1. Epidemiological Surveillance of Acute Flaccid Paralysis for Eradication of Poliomyelitis (A Brief Review)

Abstract: In May 1988 the World Health Assembly set to World Health Organization (WHO) the goal to achieve a global eradication of poliomyelitis by the year 2000. Surveillance of the acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) remains the ‘gold standard’ for the detection of polio. The criterion of sensitivity of the surveillance system is the incidence from non-polio related AFP, in children under 15 years of age. The aim is to detect more than 1 case of AFP, per 100,000 children. In 2019, WHO announced the eradication of wild poliovirus 3, and poliovirus 2 was eradicated in 2015. Wild poliovirus 1 continues to circulate. The main goals of the WHO Polio Eradication Strategy for the period 2022-2026 are: permanently interrupt all poliovirus transmission in endemic countries (Afghanistan and Pakistan), stop cVDPV (circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus) transmission and prevent outbreaks in non-endemic countries.

2. Revisiting Phase Transitions of Yttrium: Insights from Density Functional Theory

Abstract: Understanding the mechanism of structural phase transitions in rare-earth elements is a fundamental challenge in condensed matter physics, with significant implications for materials science applications. In this study, we present a systematic investigation on the phase transitions of yttrium under low-pressure conditions ($<$30 GPa) focusing on the hcp, Sm-type, and dhcp phases. A comparative analysis of the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) and meta-GGA functionals reveals that the PBE-GGA functional significantly underestimates the phase transition pressures, whereas the r$^2$SCAN functional provides accurate predictions of phase transition pressures which are in excellent agreement with experimental data. The results confirm that the phase transitions in yttrium are driven by vibrational instabilities, as evidenced by the emergence of soft acoustic modes in the phonon dispersion curves for the hcp and Sm-type phase. Elastic properties calculations further confirm mechanical softening at the phase boundaries, particularly in the hcp phase, suggesting a strong correlation between elastic instability and structural transitions. These findings suggest that the emergence of soft modes in the phonon dispersion curves might be a key factor driving the structural phase transition in the rare earth materials.

3. Domain Expansion: Parameter-Efficient Modules as Building Blocks for Composite Domains

Abstract: Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning (PEFT) is an efficient alternative to full scale fine-tuning, gaining popularity recently. With pre-trained model sizes growing exponentially, PEFT can be effectively utilized to fine-tune compact modules, Parameter-Efficient Modules (PEMs), trained to be domain experts over diverse domains. In this project, we explore composing such individually fine-tuned PEMs for distribution generalization over the composite domain. To compose PEMs, simple composing functions are used that operate purely on the weight space of the individually fine-tuned PEMs, without requiring any additional fine-tuning. The proposed method is applied to the task of representing the 16 Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) composite personalities via 4 building block dichotomies, comprising of 8 individual traits which can be merged (composed) to yield a unique personality. We evaluate the individual trait PEMs and the composed personality PEMs via an online MBTI personality quiz questionnaire, validating the efficacy of PEFT to fine-tune PEMs and merging PEMs without further fine-tuning for domain composition., Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures, 2 tables

Abstract: Benchmarks are important tools for tracking the rapid advancements in large language model (LLM) capabilities. However, benchmarks are not keeping pace in difficulty: LLMs now achieve over 90\% accuracy on popular benchmarks like MMLU, limiting informed measurement of state-of-the-art LLM capabilities. In response, we introduce Humanity's Last Exam (HLE), a multi-modal benchmark at the frontier of human knowledge, designed to be the final closed-ended academic benchmark of its kind with broad subject coverage. HLE consists of 3,000 questions across dozens of subjects, including mathematics, humanities, and the natural sciences. HLE is developed globally by subject-matter experts and consists of multiple-choice and short-answer questions suitable for automated grading. Each question has a known solution that is unambiguous and easily verifiable, but cannot be quickly answered via internet retrieval. State-of-the-art LLMs demonstrate low accuracy and calibration on HLE, highlighting a significant gap between current LLM capabilities and the expert human frontier on closed-ended academic questions. Abstract: This article reports the development of a versatile high-speed reciprocating drive system (HRDS) with interchangeable probe heads to characterize the edge plasma region of ADITYA-U tokamak. This reciprocating probe drive system consisting of Langmuir and magnetic probe heads, is designed, fabricated, installed, and operated for studying the extent of fuel/impurity gas propagation and its influence on plasma dynamics in the far-edge region inside the last closed magnetic flux surface (LCFS). The HRDS is driven by a highly accurate, easy-to-control, dynamic, brushless, permanently excited synchronous servo motor operated by a PXI-commanded controller. The system is remotely operated and allows for precise control of the speed, acceleration, and distance traveled of the probe head on a shot-to-shot basis, facilitating seamless control of operations according to experimental requirements. Using this system, consisting of a linear array of Langmuir probes, measurements of plasma density, temperature, potential, and their fluctuations revealed that the fuel gas-puff impact these mean and fluctuating parameters up to three to four cm inside the LCFS. Attaching an array of magnetic probes to this system led to measurements of magnetic fluctuations inside the LCFS. The HRDS system is fully operational and serves as an important diagnostic tool for ADITYA-U tokamak.

Abstract: Experiments on ADITYA-U tokamak show a marked enhancement in the sawtooth period by application of short gas puffs of fuel that cause a modification of the radial density profile. A consequent suppression of the trapped electron modes (TEMs) then leads to an increase in the core electron temperature. This slows down the heat propagation following a sawtooth crash, causing a delay in achieving the critical temperature gradient inside the q = 1 surface required for the next sawtooth crash to happen. The overall scenario has strong similarities with the behavior of sawtooth under electron cyclotron resonance heating (ECRH). Our findings suggest an alternate, simpler technique for sawtooth control that may be usefully employed in small/medium-sized tokamaks that do not have an ECRH or any other auxiliary heating facility.

7. Predicting Emergency Department Visits for Patients with Type II Diabetes

Abstract: Over 30 million Americans are affected by Type II diabetes (T2D), a treatable condition with significant health risks. This study aims to develop and validate predictive models using machine learning (ML) techniques to estimate emergency department (ED) visits among patients with T2D. Data for these patients was obtained from the HealthShare Exchange (HSX), focusing on demographic details, diagnoses, and vital signs. Our sample contained 34,151 patients diagnosed with T2D which resulted in 703,065 visits overall between 2017 and 2021. A workflow integrated EMR data with SDoH for ML predictions. A total of 87 out of 2,555 features were selected for model construction. Various machine learning algorithms, including CatBoost, Ensemble Learning, K-nearest Neighbors (KNN), Support Vector Classification (SVC), Random Forest, and Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), were employed with tenfold cross-validation to predict whether a patient is at risk of an ED visit. The ROC curves for Random Forest, XGBoost, Ensemble Learning, CatBoost, KNN, and SVC, were 0.82, 0.82, 0.82, 0.81, 0.72, 0.68, respectively. Ensemble Learning and Random Forest models demonstrated superior predictive performance in terms of discrimination, calibration, and clinical applicability. These models are reliable tools for predicting risk of ED visits among patients with T2D. They can estimate future ED demand and assist clinicians in identifying critical factors associated with ED utilization, enabling early interventions to reduce such visits. Abstract: Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) present significant risks and opportunities, requiring improved governance to mitigate societal harms and promote equitable benefits. Current incentive structures and regulatory delays may hinder responsible AI development and deployment, particularly in light of the transformative potential of large language models (LLMs). To address these challenges, we propose developing the following three contributions: (1) a large multimodal text and economic-timeseries foundation model that integrates economic and natural language policy data for enhanced forecasting and decision-making, (2) algorithmic mechanisms for eliciting diverse and representative perspectives, enabling the creation of data-driven public policy recommendations, and (3) an AI-driven web platform for supporting transparent, inclusive, and data-driven policymaking.

Abstract: Legionella pneumophila utilizes the Dot/Icm type IVB secretion system to deliver hundreds of effector proteins inside eukaryotic cells to ensure intracellular replication. Our understanding of the molecular functions of the largest pathogenic arsenal known to the bacterial world remains incomplete. By leveraging advancements in 3D protein structure prediction, we provide a comprehensive structural analysis of 368 L. pneumophila effectors, representing a global atlas of predicted functional domains summarized in a database ( https://pathogens3d.org/legionella-pneumophila ). Our analysis identified 157 types of diverse functional domains in 287 effectors, including 159 effectors with no prior functional annotations. Furthermore, we identified 35 cryptic domains in 30 effector models that have no similarity with experimentally structurally characterized proteins, thus, hinting at novel functionalities. Using this analysis, we demonstrate the activity of thirteen functional domains, including three cryptic domains, predicted in L. pneumophila effectors to cause growth defects in the Saccharomyces cerevisiae model system. This illustrates an emerging strategy of exploring synergies between predictions and targeted experimental approaches in elucidating novel effector activities involved in infection.

Abstract: An angular analysis of $B^0\rightarrow K^{*0}e^{+}e^{-}$ decays is presented using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb$^{-1}$. The analysis is performed in the region of the dilepton invariant mass squared of 1.1-6.0 GeV$^{2}/c^{4}$. In addition, a test of lepton flavour universality is performed by comparing the obtained angular observables with those measured in $B^0\rightarrow K^{*0}\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ decays. In general, the angular observables are found to be consistent with the Standard Model expectations as well as with global analyses of other $b \rightarrow s \ell^{+} \ell^{-}$ processes, where $\ell$ is either a muon or an electron. 11. Modelling of shattered pellet injection experiments on the ASDEX Upgrade tokamak

Abstract: In a shattered pellet injection (SPI) system the penetration and assimilation of the injected material depends on the speed and size distribution of the SPI fragments. ASDEX Upgrade (AUG) was recently equipped with a flexible SPI to study the effect of these parameters on disruption mitigation efficiency. In this paper we study the impact of different parameters on SPI assimilation with the 1.5D INDEX code. Scans of fragment sizes, speeds and different pellet compositions are carried out for single SPI into AUG H-mode plasmas. We use a semi-empirical thermal quench (TQ) onset condition to study the material assimilation trends. For mixed deuterium-neon pellets, smaller/faster fragments start to assimilate quicker. However, at the expected onset of the global reconnection event (GRE),larger/faster fragments end up assimilating more material. Variations in the injected neon content lead to a large difference in the assimilated neon for neon content below $< 10^{21}$ atoms. For larger injected neon content, a self-regulating mechanism limits the variation in the amount of assimilated neon. We use a back-averaging model to simulate the plasmoid drift during pure deuterium injections with the back-averaging parameter determined by a interpretative simulation of an experimental pure deuterium injection discharge. Again, larger and faster fragments are found to lead to higher assimilation with the material assimilation limited to the plasma edge in general, due to the plasmoid drift. The trends of assimilation for varying fragment sizes, speeds and pellet composition qualitatively agree with the previously reported experimental observations.

12. Controlled Shifts of X-ray Emission Lines Measured with Transition Edge Sensors at the Advanced Photon Source

Abstract: The measurement of shifts in the energy of X-ray emission lines is important for understanding the electronic structure and physical properties of materials. In this study, we demonstrate a method using a synchrotron source to introduce controlled eV-scale shifts of a narrow line in between fixed-energy fluorescence lines. We use this to characterize the ability of a hard X-ray superconducting Transition Edge Sensor (TES) array to measure line shifts. Fixed fluorescence lines excited by higher harmonics of the monochromatic X-ray beam are used for online energy calibration, while elastic scattering from the primary harmonic acts as the variable energy emission line under study. We use this method to demonstrate the ability to track shifts in the energy of the elastic scattering line of magnitude smaller than the TES energy resolution, and find we are ultimately limited by our calibration procedure. The method can be applied over a wide X-ray energy range and provides a robust approach for the characterization of the ability of high-resolution detectors to detect X-ray emission line shifts, and the quantitative comparison of energy calibration procedures., Comment: 5 pages inc. references, 3 figures. Abstract: Automated analysis of surgical videos is crucial for improving surgical training, workflow optimization, and postoperative assessment. We introduce a CSMAE, Masked Autoencoder (MAE)-based pretraining approach, specifically developed for Cataract Surgery video analysis, where instead of randomly selecting tokens for masking, they are selected based on the spatiotemporal importance of the token. We created a large dataset of cataract surgery videos to improve the model's learning efficiency and expand its robustness in low-data regimes. Our pre-trained model can be easily adapted for specific downstream tasks via fine-tuning, serving as a robust backbone for further analysis. Through rigorous testing on a downstream step-recognition task on two Cataract Surgery video datasets, D99 and Cataract-101, our approach surpasses current state-of-the-art self-supervised pretraining and adapter-based transfer learning methods by a significant margin. Abstract: The EXO-UV program is an international, interdisciplinary collaboration between astrophysicists and biologists aimed at expanding the characterization of ultraviolet radiation (UVR) environments on exoplanets. This approach combines astrophysical studies with biological experiments to better understand the potential impacts of UVR on exoplanetary surfaces. UVR is particularly relevant because it reaches the surface of planets and can influence their habitability. The specific wavelengths within the UVR spectrum depend on the planet's atmospheric composition and the spectral energy distribution of its host star. Additionally, high UVR fluxes emitted during flares and superflares are of particular interest due to the limited information available regarding their biological impact. The EXO-UV program has successfully led to the first experimental study examining the biological effects of high UVR fluences, such as those produced by flares and superflares. Future experimental studies aim to investigate the biological effects of repetitive flares. 15. A Real-to-Sim-to-Real Approach to Robotic Manipulation with VLM-Generated Iterative Keypoint Rewards

Abstract: Task specification for robotic manipulation in open-world environments is challenging, requiring flexible and adaptive objectives that align with human intentions and can evolve through iterative feedback. We introduce Iterative Keypoint Reward (IKER), a visually grounded, Python-based reward function that serves as a dynamic task specification. Our framework leverages VLMs to generate and refine these reward functions for multi-step manipulation tasks. Given RGB-D observations and free-form language instructions, we sample keypoints in the scene and generate a reward function conditioned on these keypoints. IKER operates on the spatial relationships between keypoints, leveraging commonsense priors about the desired behaviors, and enabling precise SE(3) control. We reconstruct real-world scenes in simulation and use the generated rewards to train reinforcement learning (RL) policies, which are then deployed into the real world-forming a real-to-sim-to-real loop. Our approach demonstrates notable capabilities across diverse scenarios, including both prehensile and non-prehensile tasks, showcasing multi-step task execution, spontaneous error recovery, and on-the-fly strategy adjustments. 16. Towards Zero-Shot Anomaly Detection and Reasoning with Multimodal Large Language Models

Abstract: Zero-Shot Anomaly Detection (ZSAD) is an emerging AD paradigm. Unlike the traditional unsupervised AD setting that requires a large number of normal samples to train a model, ZSAD is more practical for handling data-restricted real-world scenarios. Recently, Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) have shown revolutionary reasoning capabilities in various vision tasks. However, the reasoning of image abnormalities remains underexplored due to the lack of corresponding datasets and benchmarks. To facilitate research in AD & reasoning, we establish the first visual instruction tuning dataset, Anomaly-Instruct-125k, and the evaluation benchmark, VisA-D&R. Through investigation with our benchmark, we reveal that current MLLMs like GPT-4o cannot accurately detect and describe fine-grained anomalous details in images. To address this, we propose Anomaly-OneVision (Anomaly-OV), the first specialist visual assistant for ZSAD and reasoning. Inspired by human behavior in visual inspection, Anomaly-OV leverages a Look-Twice Feature Matching (LTFM) mechanism to adaptively select and emphasize abnormal visual tokens. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Anomaly-OV achieves significant improvements over advanced generalist models in both detection and reasoning. Abstract: This article presents the first search for neutrino-induced neutral current coherent single-photon production (NC coherent 1$\gamma$). The search makes use of data from the MicroBooNE 85-tonne active volume liquid argon time projection chamber detector, situated in the Fermilab Booster Neutrino Beam (BNB), with an average neutrino energy of $\langle E_{\nu}\rangle \sim 0.8$ GeV. A targeted selection of candidate neutrino interactions with a single photon-like electromagnetic shower in the final state and no visible vertex activity was developed to search for the NC coherent 1$\gamma$ process, along with two auxiliary selections used to constrain the dominant background from NC$\pi^0$ production. With an integrated exposure of $6.87 \times 10^{20}$ protons on target delivered by the BNB, we set the world's first limit for this rare process, corresponding to an upper limit on the flux-averaged cross section of $\sigma<1.49 \times 10^{-41}\text{cm}^2$ at 90\% C.L., Comment: 20 pages, 17 figures

Abstract: We present an inclusive search for anomalous production of single-photon events from neutrino interactions in the MicroBooNE experiment. The search and its signal definition are motivated by the previous observation of a low-energy excess of electromagnetic shower events from the MiniBooNE experiment. We use the Wire-Cell reconstruction framework to select a sample of inclusive single-photon final-state interactions with a final efficiency and purity of 7.0% and 40.2%, respectively. We leverage simultaneous measurements of sidebands of charged current $\nu_{\mu}$ interactions and neutral current interactions producing $\pi^{0}$ mesons to constrain signal and background predictions and reduce uncertainties. We perform a blind analysis using a dataset collected from February 2016 to July 2018, corresponding to an exposure of $6.34\times10^{20}$ protons on target from the Booster Neutrino Beam (BNB) at Fermilab. In the full signal region, we observe agreement between the data and the prediction, with a goodness-of-fit $p$-value of 0.11. We then isolate a sub-sample of these events containing no visible protons, and observe $93\pm22\text{(stat.)}\pm35\text{(syst.)}$ data events above prediction, corresponding to just above $2\sigma$ local significance, concentrated at shower energies below 600 MeV., Comment: 9 pages, 6 figures

Abstract: We report results from an updated search for neutral current (NC) resonant $\Delta$(1232) baryon production and subsequent $\Delta$ radiative decay (NC $\Delta\rightarrow N \gamma$). We consider events with and without final state protons; events with a proton can be compared with the kinematics of a $\Delta(1232)$ baryon decay, while events without a visible proton represent a more generic phase space. In order to maximize sensitivity to each topology, we simultaneously make use of two different reconstruction paradigms, Pandora and Wire-Cell, which have complementary strengths, and select mostly orthogonal sets of events. Considering an overall scaling of the NC $\Delta\rightarrow N \gamma$ rate as an explanation of the MiniBooNE anomaly, our data exclude this hypothesis at 94.4% CL. When we decouple the expected correlations between NC $\Delta\rightarrow N \gamma$ events with and without final state protons, and allow independent scaling of both types of events, our data exclude explanations in which excess events have associated protons, and do not exclude explanations in which excess events have no associated protons.

20. Mixture of neural operator experts for learning boundary conditions and model selection

Abstract: While Fourier-based neural operators are best suited to learning mappings between functions on periodic domains, several works have introduced techniques for incorporating non trivial boundary conditions. However, all previously introduced methods have restrictions that limit their applicability. In this work, we introduce an alternative approach to imposing boundary conditions inspired by volume penalization from numerical methods and Mixture of Experts (MoE) from machine learning. By introducing competing experts, the approach additionally allows for model selection. To demonstrate the method, we combine a spatially conditioned MoE with the Fourier based, Modal Operator Regression for Physics (MOR-Physics) neural operator and recover a nonlinear operator on a disk and quarter disk. Next, we extract a large eddy simulation (LES) model from direct numerical simulation of channel flow and show the domain decomposition provided by our approach. Finally, we train our LES model with Bayesian variational inference and obtain posterior predictive samples of flow far past the DNS simulation time horizon.

Abstract: The first measurement of the $CP$ asymmetry of the decay rate ($A_{CP}$) and the $CP$ average ($\Sigma A_{\text{FB}}$) and $CP$ asymmetry ($\Delta A_{\text{FB}}$) of the forward-backward asymmetry in the muon system of $\mathit{\Lambda}^+_c\to p\mu^+\mu^-$ decays is reported. The measurement is performed using a data sample of proton-proton collisions, recorded by the LHCb experiment from 2016 to 2018 at a center-of-mass energy of 13$\text{ TeV}$, which corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 5.4$\text{ fb}^{-1}$. The asymmetries are measured in two regions of dimuon mass near the $\phi$-meson mass peak. Abstract: In this paper, we explore how token unmasking order influences generative quality in masked diffusion models (MDMs). We derive an expanded evidence lower bound (ELBO) that introduces a planner to select which tokens to unmask at each step. Our analysis reveals that alternative unmasking strategies can enhance generation performance. Building on this, we propose Path Planning (P2), a sampling framework that uses a pre-trained BERT model or the denoiser itself to guide unmasking decisions. P2 generalizes all known MDM sampling strategies and significantly improves performance across diverse domains, including language generation (in-context learning, code generation, story infilling, mathematical reasoning, reverse curse correction) and biological sequence generation (protein and RNA sequences).

23. Exponentially Stable Combined Adaptive Control under Finite Excitation Condition

Abstract: The parameter convergence relies on a stringent persistent excitation (PE) condition in adaptive control. Several works have proposed a memory term in the last decade to translate the PE condition to a feasible finite excitation (FE) condition. This work proposes a combined model reference adaptive control for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems with an unknown control effectiveness vector. The closed-loop system is exponentially stable under the FE condition. The exponential rate of convergence is independent of the excitation level of the regressor vector and is lower-bounded in terms of the system parameters and user-designed gains. Numerical simulation is illustrated, validating the results obtained with the proposed adaptive control.

24. Layer by Layer: Uncovering Hidden Representations in Language Models

Abstract: From extracting features to generating text, the outputs of large language models (LLMs) typically rely on their final layers, following the conventional wisdom that earlier layers capture only low-level cues. However, our analysis shows that intermediate layers can encode even richer representations, often improving performance on a wide range of downstream tasks. To explain and quantify these hidden-layer properties, we propose a unified framework of representation quality metrics based on information theory, geometry, and invariance to input perturbations. Our framework highlights how each model layer balances information compression and signal preservation, revealing why mid-depth embeddings can exceed the last layer's performance. Through extensive experiments on 32 text-embedding tasks and comparisons across model architectures (transformers, state-space models) and domains (language, vision), we demonstrate that intermediate layers consistently provide stronger features. These findings challenge the standard focus on final-layer embeddings and open new directions for model analysis and optimization, including strategic use of mid-layer representations for more robust and accurate AI systems.

Abstract: Dynamical systems can be coupled in a manner that is designed to drive the resulting dynamics onto a specified lower dimensional submanifold in the phase space of the combined system. On the submanifold, the variables of the two systems have a well-defined unique functional relationship. 26. An Agentic AI Workflow for Detecting Cognitive Concerns in Real-world Data

Abstract: Early identification of cognitive concerns is critical but often hindered by subtle symptom presentation. This study developed and validated a fully automated, multi-agent AI workflow using LLaMA 3 8B to identify cognitive concerns in 3,338 clinical notes from Mass General Brigham. The agentic workflow, leveraging task-specific agents that dynamically collaborate to extract meaningful insights from clinical notes, was compared to an expert-driven benchmark. Both workflows achieved high classification performance, with F1-scores of 0.90 and 0.91, respectively. The agentic workflow demonstrated improved specificity (1.00) and achieved prompt refinement in fewer iterations. Although both workflows showed reduced performance on validation data, the agentic workflow maintained perfect specificity. These findings highlight the potential of fully automated multi-agent AI workflows to achieve expert-level accuracy with greater efficiency, offering a scalable and cost-effective solution for detecting cognitive concerns in clinical settings.

27. An Adaptive Proton FLASH Therapy Using Modularized Pin Ridge Filter

Abstract: In this paper, we proposed a method to optimize adaptive proton FLASH therapy (ADP FLASH) using modularized pin ridge filters (pRFs) by recycling module pins from the initial plan while reducing pRF adjustments in adaptive FLASH planning. Initially, single energy (250 MeV) FLASH pRF plans were created using pencil beam directions (PBDs) from initial IMPT plans on the planning CT (pCT). PBDs are classified as new/changed ($\Delta$E > > 5 MeV) or unchanged by comparing spot maps for targets between pCT and re-CT. We used an iterative least square regression model to identify recyclable PBDs with minimal relative changes to spot MU weighting. Two PBDs with the least square error were retrieved per iteration and added to the background plan, and the remaining PBDs were reoptimized for the adaptive plan in subsequent iterations. The method was validated on three liver SBRT cases (50 Gy in 5 fractions) by comparing various dosimetric parameters across initial pRF plans on pCT, reCT and the ADP FLASH pRF plans on reCT. V100 for initial pRF plans on pCT, reCT, and ADP FLASH pRF plans for the three cases were as follows: (93.7%, 89.2%, 91.4%), (93.5%, 60.2%, 91.7%), (97.3%, 69.9%, 98.8%). We observe a decline in plan quality when applying the initial pRF to the reCT, whereas the ADP FLASH pRF approach restores quality comparable to the initial pRF on the pCT. FLASH effect of the initial pRF and ADP pRF plans were evaluated with a dose and dose rate threshold of 1Gy and 40Gy/s, respectively, using the FLASH effectiveness model. Abstract: We discuss our transient search for directed energy systems in local galaxies, with calculations indicating the ability of modest searches to detect optical Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) sources in the closest galaxies. Our analysis follows Lubin (2016) where a messenger civilization follows a beacon strategy we call "intelligent targeting." We plot the required laser time to achieve an SNR of 10 and find the time for a blind transmission to target all stars in the Milky Way to be achievable for local galactic civilizations. As high cadence and sky coverage is the pathway to enable such a detection, we operate the Local Galactic Transient Survey (LGTS) targeting M31 (the Andromeda Galaxy), the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), and the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) via Las Cumbres Observatory's (LCO) network of 0.4 m telescopes. We explore the ability of modest searches like the LGTS to detect directed pulses in optical and near-infrared wavelengths from Extraterrestrial Intelligence (ETI) at these distances and conclude a civilization utilizing less powerful laser technology than we can construct in this century is readily detectable with the LGTS's observational capabilities. 29. Mitigating shot noise in local overlapping quantum tomography with semidefinite programming

Abstract: Reduced density matrices (RDMs) are fundamental in quantum information processing, allowing the computation of local observables, such as energy and correlation functions, without the exponential complexity of fully characterizing quantum states. In the context of near-term quantum computing, RDMs provide sufficient information to effectively design variational quantum algorithms. However, their experimental estimation is challenging, as it involves preparing and measuring quantum states in multiple bases - a resource-intensive process susceptible to producing non-physical RDMs due to shot noise from limited measurements. To address this, we propose a method to mitigate shot noise by re-enforcing certain physicality constraints on RDMs. While verifying RDM compatibility with a global state is QMA-complete, we relax this condition by enforcing compatibility constraints up to a certain level using a polynomial-size semidefinite program to reconstruct overlapping RDMs from simulated experimental data. Our approach yields, on average, tighter bounds for the same number of measurements compared to tomography without compatibility constraints. We demonstrate the versatility and efficacy of our method by integrating it into an algorithmic cooling procedure to prepare low-energy states of local Hamiltonians. Abstract: The open Tavis-Cummings model consists of $N$ quantum emitters interacting with a common cavity mode, accounts for losses and decoherence, and is frequently explored for quantum information processing and designing quantum devices. As $N$ increases, it becomes harder to simulate the open Tavis-Cummings model using traditional methods. To address this problem, we implement two quantum algorithms for simulating the dynamics of this model in the inhomogenous, non-resonant regime, with up to three excitations in the cavity. We show that the implemented algorithms have gate complexities that scale polynomially, as $O(N^2)$ and $O(N^3)$. One of these algorithms is the sampling-based wave matrix Lindbladization algorithm, for which we propose two protocols to implement its system-independent fixed interaction, resolving key open questions of [Patel and Wilde, Open Sys. & Info. Dyn., 30:2350014 (2023)]. 31. A Comparative Dosimetric Study of Proton and Photon Therapy in Stereotactic Arrhythmia Radioablation for Ventricular Tachycardia

Abstract: Purpose: VT is a life-threatening arrhythmia commonly treated with catheter ablation; however, some cases remain refractory to conventional treatment. STAR has emerged as a non-invasive option for such patients. While photon-based STAR has shown efficacy, proton therapy offers potential advantages due to its superior dose conformity and sparing of critical OARs, including the heart itself. This study aims to investigate and compare the dosimetry between proton and photon therapy for VT, focusing on target coverage and OAR sparing. Methods: We performed a retrospective study on a cohort of 34 VT patients who received photon STAR. Proton STAR plans were generated using robust optimization in RayStation to deliver the same prescription dose of 25 Gy in a single fraction while minimizing dose to OARs. Dosimetric metrics, including D99, D95, Dmean, and D0.03cc, were extracted for critical OARs and VAS. Shapiro-Wilk tests were used to assess normality, followed by paired t-tests or Wilcoxon signed-rank tests for statistical comparisons between modalities, with Bonferroni correction applied for multiple comparisons. Results: Proton and photon plans achieved comparable target coverage, with VAS D95 of 24.1 +/- 1.2 Gy vs. 24.7 +/- 1.0 Gy (p=0.294). Proton therapy significantly reduced OAR doses, including heart Dmean (3.6 +/- 1.5 Gy vs. 5.5 +/- 2.0 Gy, p<0.001), lungs Dmean (1.6 +/- 1.5 Gy vs. 2.1 +/- 1.4 Gy, p<0.001), and esophagus Dmean (0.3 +/- 0.6 Gy vs. 1.6 +/- 1.3 Gy, p<0.001), while maintaining optimal target coverage. Conclusion: Proton therapy for STAR demonstrates significant dosimetric advantages in sparing the heart and other critical OARs compared to photon therapy for VT, while maintaining equivalent target coverage. These findings highlight the potential of proton therapy to reduce treatment-related toxicity and improve outcomes for VT patients.

Abstract: We present the TRansient Image Processing Pipeline (TRIPP), a transient and variable source detection pipeline that employs both difference imaging and light curve analysis techniques for astronomical data. Additionally, we demonstrate TRIPP's rapid analysis capability by detecting transient candidates in near-real time. TRIPP was tested using image data of the supernova SN2023ixf and from the Local Galactic Transient Survey (LGTS, Thomas et al. 33. Evaluating the Efficacy and Safety of Stereotactic Arrhythmia Radioablation in Ventricular Tachycardia: A Comprehensive Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Abstract: Purpose: Stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation (STAR) has emerged as a promising non-invasive treatment for refractory ventricular tachycardia (VT), offering a novel alternative for patients who are poor candidates for catheter ablation. This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluates the safety, efficacy, and technical aspects of STAR across preclinical studies, case reports, case series, and clinical trials. Methods and Materials: A systematic review identified 80 studies published between 2015 and 2024, including 12 preclinical studies, 47 case reports, 15 case series, and 6 clinical trials. Data on patient demographics, treatment parameters, and clinical outcomes were extracted. Meta-analyses were performed for pooled mortality rates, VT burden reduction, and acute toxicities, with subgroup analyses exploring cardiomyopathy type, age, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), and treatment modality. Results: The pooled 6- and 12-month mortality rates were 16% (95% CI: 11-21%) and 32% (95% CI: 26-39%), respectively. VT burden reduction at 6 months was 75% (95% CI: 73-77%), with significant heterogeneity (I^2 = 98.8%). Grade 3+ acute toxicities were observed in 7% (95% CI: 4-11%), with pneumonitis being the most common. Subgroup analyses showed comparable outcomes between LINAC- and CyberKnife-based treatments, with minor differences based on patient characteristics and cardiomyopathy type. Abstract: Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition that requires long-term treatment and monitoring. Although, the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) is utilized as a standard measurement to assess psoriasis severity in clinical trials, it has many drawbacks such as (1) patient burden for in-person clinic visits for assessment of psoriasis, (2) time required for investigator scoring and (3) variability of inter- and intra-rater scoring. To address these drawbacks, we propose a novel and interpretable deep learning architecture called PSO-Net, which maps digital images from different anatomical regions to derive attention-based scores. Regional scores are further combined to estimate an absolute PASI score. Moreover, we devise a novel regression activation map for interpretability through ranking attention scores. 35. Fine-Tuning Open-Source Large Language Models to Improve Their Performance on Radiation Oncology Tasks: A Feasibility Study to Investigate Their Potential Clinical Applications in Radiation Oncology

Abstract: Background: The radiation oncology clinical practice involves many steps relying on the dynamic interplay of abundant text data. Large language models have displayed remarkable capabilities in processing complex text information. But their direct applications in specific fields like radiation oncology remain underexplored. Purpose: This study aims to investigate whether fine-tuning LLMs with domain knowledge can improve the performance on Task (1) treatment regimen generation, Task (2) treatment modality selection (photon, proton, electron, or brachytherapy), and Task (3) ICD-10 code prediction in radiation oncology. Methods: Data for 15,724 patient cases were extracted. Cases where patients had a single diagnostic record, and a clearly identifiable primary treatment plan were selected for preprocessing and manual annotation to have 7,903 cases of the patient diagnosis, treatment plan, treatment modality, and ICD-10 code. Each case was used to construct a pair consisting of patient diagnostics details and an answer (treatment regimen, treatment modality, or ICD-10 code respectively) for the supervised fine-tuning of these three tasks. Open source LLaMA2-7B and Mistral-7B models were utilized for the fine-tuning with the Low-Rank Approximations method. Accuracy and ROUGE-1 score were reported for the fine-tuned models and original models. Clinical evaluation was performed on Task (1) by radiation oncologists, while precision, recall, and F-1 score were evaluated for Task (2) and (3). One-sided Wilcoxon signed-rank tests were used to statistically analyze the results. Results: Fine-tuned LLMs outperformed original LLMs across all tasks with p-value <= 0.001. Clinical evaluation demonstrated that over 60% of the fine-tuned LLMs-generated treatment regimens were clinically acceptable. Precision, recall, and F1-score showed improved performance of fine-tuned LLMs.

36. r-Process Nucleosynthesis and Radioactively Powered Transients from Magnetar Giant Flares

Abstract: We present nucleosynthesis and light-curve predictions for a new site of the rapid neutron capture process ($r$-process) from magnetar giant flares (GFs). Motivated by observations indicating baryon ejecta from GFs, Cehula et al. (2024) proposed mass ejection occurs after a shock is driven into the magnetar crust during the GF. We confirm using nuclear reaction network calculations that these ejecta synthesize moderate yields of third-peak $r$-process nuclei and more substantial yields of lighter $r$-nuclei, while leaving a sizable abundance of free neutrons in the outermost fastest expanding ejecta layers. The final $r$-process mass fraction and distribution are sensitive to the relative efficiencies of $\alpha$-capture and $n$-capture freeze-outs. We use our nucleosynthesis output in a semi-analytic model to predict the light curves of novae breves, the transients following GFs powered by radioactive decay. For a baryonic ejecta mass similar to that inferred of the 2004 Galactic GF from SGR 1806-20, we predict a peak UV/optical luminosity of $\sim 10^{39}$-$10^{40}\,\rm erg\,s^{-1}$ at $\sim 10$-$15$ minutes, rendering such events potentially detectable following a gamma-ray trigger by wide-field transient monitors such as ULTRASAT/UVEX to several Mpc. The peak luminosity and timescale of the transient increase with the GF strength due to the larger ejecta mass. Although GFs likely contribute 1-10% of the total Galactic $r$-process budget, their short delay-times relative to star-formation make them an attractive source to enrich the earliest generations of stars.

37. Supersymmetric Grey Galaxies, Dual Dressed Black Holes and the Superconformal Index

Abstract: Motivated by the recent construction of grey galaxy and Dual Dressed Black Hole solutions in $AdS_5\times S^5$, we present two conjectures relating to the large $N$ entropy of supersymmetric states in ${\cal N}=4$ Yang-Mills theory. Our first conjecture asserts the existence of a large number of supersymmetric states which can be thought of as a non interacting mix of supersymmetric black holes and supersymmetric `gravitons'. It predicts a microcanonical phase diagram of supersymmetric states with eleven distinct phases, and makes a sharp prediction for the supersymmetric entropy (as a function of 5 charges) in each of these phases. The microcanonical version of the superconformal index involves a sum over states - with alternating signs - over a line in 5 parameter charge space. Our second conjecture asserts that this sum is dominated by the point on the line that has the largest supersymmetric entropy. This conjecture predicts a large $N$ formula for the superconformal index as a function of indicial charges, and predicts a microcanonical indicial phase diagram with nine distinct phases. It predicts agreement between the superconformal index and black hole entropy in one phase (so over one range of charges), but disagreement in other phases (and so at other values of charges). Abstract: This article constructs a fractal interpolation function, also referred to as $\alpha$-fractal function, using Suzuki-type generalized $\varphi$-contraction mappings (STGPC). The STGPC is a generalization of $\varphi$-contraction mappings. The process of constructing $\alpha$-fractal functions using the STGPC is detailed, and examples of STGPC are given. The FIF has broad applications in data analysis, finance and price prediction. We have included a case study analyzing the price volatility of spinach in the Azadpur vegetable market in New Delhi. The fractal analysis gives a unique perspective on understanding price fluctuations over a period. Finally, the box-dimensional analysis is presented to comprehend the complexity of price fluctuations.

Abstract: This paper introduces a scalable Anomaly Detection Service with a generalizable API tailored for industrial time-series data, designed to assist Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) in managing cloud infrastructure. The service enables efficient anomaly detection in complex data streams, supporting proactive identification and resolution of issues. Furthermore, it presents an innovative approach to anomaly modeling in cloud infrastructure by utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) to understand key components, their failure modes, and behaviors. A suite of algorithms for detecting anomalies is offered in univariate and multivariate time series data, including regression-based, mixture-model-based, and semi-supervised approaches. We provide insights into the usage patterns of the service, with over 500 users and 200,000 API calls in a year. The service has been successfully applied in various industrial settings, including IoT-based AI applications. We have also evaluated our system on public anomaly benchmarks to show its effectiveness. By leveraging it, SREs can proactively identify potential issues before they escalate, reducing downtime and improving response times to incidents, ultimately enhancing the overall customer experience. Abstract: We study the problem of differentially private (DP) mechanisms for representing sets of size $k$ from a large universe. Our first construction creates $(\epsilon,\delta)$-DP representations with error probability of $1/(e^\epsilon + 1)$ using space at most $1.05 k \epsilon \cdot \log(e)$ bits where the time to construct a representation is $O(k \log(1/\delta))$ while decoding time is $O(\log(1/\delta))$. We also present a second algorithm for pure $\epsilon$-DP representations with the same error using space at most $k \epsilon \cdot \log(e)$ bits, but requiring large decoding times. Our algorithms match our lower bounds on privacy-utility trade-offs (including constants but ignoring $\delta$ factors) and we also present a new space lower bound matching our constructions up to small constant factors. Abstract: Purpose: This study aims to use a large language model (LLM) to automate the generation of summaries from the CT simulation orders and evaluate its performance. Materials and Methods: A total of 607 CT simulation orders for patients were collected from the Aria database at our institution. A locally hosted Llama 3.1 405B model, accessed via the Application Programming Interface (API) service, was used to extract keywords from the CT simulation orders and generate summaries. The downloaded CT simulation orders were categorized into seven groups based on treatment modalities and disease sites. For each group, a customized instruction prompt was developed collaboratively with therapists to guide the Llama 3.1 405B model in generating summaries. The ground truth for the corresponding summaries was manually derived by carefully reviewing each CT simulation order and subsequently verified by therapists. The accuracy of the LLM-generated summaries was evaluated by therapists using the verified ground truth as a reference. Results: About 98% of the LLM-generated summaries aligned with the manually generated ground truth in terms of accuracy. Our evaluations showed an improved consistency in format and enhanced readability of the LLM-generated summaries compared to the corresponding therapists-generated summaries. This automated approach demonstrated a consistent performance across all groups, regardless of modality or disease site. Conclusions: This study demonstrated the high precision and consistency of the Llama 3.1 405B model in extracting keywords and summarizing CT simulation orders, suggesting that LLMs have great potential to help with this task, reduce the workload of therapists and improve workflow efficiency.

Abstract: Quantum chemistry is among the most promising applications of quantum computing, offering the potential to solve complex electronic structure problems more efficiently than classical approaches. A critical component of any quantum algorithm is the measurement step, where the desired properties are extracted from a quantum computer. This review focuses on recent advancements in quantum measurement techniques tailored for quantum chemistry, particularly within the second quantized framework suitable for current and near-term quantum hardware. We provide a comprehensive overview of measurement strategies developed primarily for the Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE) and its derivatives. These strategies address the inherent challenges posed by complexity of the electronic Hamiltonian operator. Additionally, we examine methods for estimating excited states and one- and two-electron properties, extending the applicability of quantum algorithms to broader chemical phenomena. Key aspects of the review include approaches for constructing measurement operators with reduced classical preprocessing and quantum implementation costs, techniques to minimize the number of measurements required for a given accuracy, and error mitigation strategies that leverage symmetries and other properties of the measurement operators. Furthermore, we explore measurement schemes rooted in Quantum Phase Estimation (QPE), which are expected to become viable with the advent of fault-tolerant quantum computing. Abstract: The first evidence for the decay $B^-\rightarrow D^{**0}\tau^-\overline{\nu_{\tau}}$ is obtained using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb$^{-1}$ , at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 Tev. Here, the $D^{**0}$ meson represents any of the three excited charm mesons $D_{1}(2420)^{0}$, $D_{2}^{*}(2460)^{0}$, and $D_{1}^{'}(2400)^{0}$. The $B^-\rightarrow D^{**0}\tau^-\overline{\nu_{\tau}}$ signal is measured with a significance of 3.5 $\sigma$, including systematic uncertainties. The combined branching fraction $BR(B^-\rightarrow D^{**0}_{1,2}\tau^-\overline{\nu_{\tau}})\times BR(D^{**0}_{1,2}\rightarrow D^{*+}\pi^-)$, where $D^{**0}_{1,2}$ denotes both $D_{1}(2420)^{0}$ and $D_{2}^{*}(2460)^{0}$ contributions, is measured to be $(0.051\pm0.013(stat)\pm 0.006(syst)\pm 0.009(\rm{ext}) )\%$, where the last uncertainty reflects that of the branching fraction of the normalisation channel $B^-\rightarrow D^{**0}_{1,2}D_s^{(*)-}$. Abstract: Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) are powerful tools for addressing learning problems on graph structures, with a wide range of applications in molecular biology and social networks. However, the theoretical foundations underlying their empirical performance are not well understood. In this article, we examine the convergence of gradient dynamics in the training of linear GNNs. Specifically, we prove that the gradient flow training of a linear GNN with mean squared loss converges to the global minimum at an exponential rate. The convergence rate depends explicitly on the initial weights and the graph shift operator, which we validate on synthetic datasets from well-known graph models and real-world datasets. Furthermore, we discuss the gradient flow that minimizes the total weights at the global minimum. 46. SIDDA: SInkhorn Dynamic Domain Adaptation for Image Classification with Equivariant Neural Networks

Abstract: Modern neural networks (NNs) often do not generalize well in the presence of a "covariate shift"; that is, in situations where the training and test data distributions differ, but the conditional distribution of classification labels remains unchanged. In such cases, NN generalization can be reduced to a problem of learning more domain-invariant features. Domain adaptation (DA) methods include a range of techniques aimed at achieving this; however, these methods have struggled with the need for extensive hyperparameter tuning, which then incurs significant computational costs. In this work, we introduce SIDDA, an out-of-the-box DA training algorithm built upon the Sinkhorn divergence, that can achieve effective domain alignment with minimal hyperparameter tuning and computational overhead. We demonstrate the efficacy of our method on multiple simulated and real datasets of varying complexity, including simple shapes, handwritten digits, and real astronomical observations. SIDDA is compatible with a variety of NN architectures, and it works particularly well in improving classification accuracy and model calibration when paired with equivariant neural networks (ENNs). We find that SIDDA enhances the generalization capabilities of NNs, achieving up to a $\approx40\%$ improvement in classification accuracy on unlabeled target data. We also study the efficacy of DA on ENNs with respect to the varying group orders of the dihedral group $D_N$, and find that the model performance improves as the degree of equivariance increases. Finally, we find that SIDDA enhances model calibration on both source and target data--achieving over an order of magnitude improvement in the ECE and Brier score. Abstract: From $>1000$ orbits of HST imaging, we present deep homogeneous resolved star color-magnitude diagrams that reach the oldest main sequence turnoff and uniformly measured star formation histories (SFHs) of 36 dwarf galaxies ($-6 \ge M_V \ge -17$) associated with the M31 halo, and for 10 additional fields in M31, M33, and the Giant Stellar Stream. From our SFHs we find: i) the median stellar age and quenching epoch of M31 satellites correlate with galaxy luminosity and galactocentric distance. Satellite luminosity and present-day distance from M31 predict the satellite quenching epoch to within $1.8$ Gyr at all epochs. This tight relationship highlights the fundamental connection between satellite halo mass, environmental history, and star formation duration. ii) There is no difference between the median SFH of galaxies on and off the great plane of Andromeda satellites. iii) $\sim50$\% of our M31 satellites show prominent ancient star formation ($>12$ Gyr ago) followed by delayed quenching ($8-10$ Gyr ago), which is not commonly observed among the MW satellites. iv) A comparison with TNG50 and FIRE-2 simulated satellite dwarfs around M31-like hosts show that some of these trends (dependence of SFH on satellite luminosity) are reproduced in the simulations while others (dependence of SFH on galactocentric distance, presence of the delayed-quenching population) are weaker or absent. 48. Magnetic Properties of epitaxial $\text{Re}/\text{Co}_{1-x}\text{Au}_{x}/\text{Pt}$ heterostructures

Abstract: We investigate epitaxial $\text{Co}(20 \, \text{\r{A}})$ and $\text{Co}_{1-x}\text{Au}_{x}(20 \, \text{\r{A}})$ alloy thin-films surrounded by asymmetric heavy metals layers of $\text{Re}(10 \, \text{\r{A}})$ as a buffer and $\text{Pt}(30 \, \text{\r{A}})$ as a cap to study the magnetic anisotropy, interfacial Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (iDMI) and damping. The increase of Au from 0% to 25% in the $\text{Co}_{1-x}\text{Au}_{x}$ alloy generates the spin-reorientation transition of around 13% of Au. The increase in Au concentration provides a significant decrease in saturation magnetization from 1690 kA/m to 982 kA/m measured for Co and $\text{Co}_{75}\text{Au}_{25}$, respectively. The effective anisotropy constant $\text{K}_{eff}$ is elevated up to 0.33 $\text{MJ/m}^{3}$ by changing the Au content. Further, our investigations of the magnetization dynamics have confirmed that the overall effective damping constant rises with the Au concentration which can be attributed to the spin pumping effect. The spin pumping leads to the highest value of effective spin mixing conductance $g^{(\uparrow \downarrow)} \approx 2.91 \times 10^{18} \, \text{m}^{-2}$ in the $\text{Co}_{90}\text{Au}_{10}(20 \, \text{\r{A}})$ system, while the lowest value of $g^{(\uparrow \downarrow)} \approx 2.25 \times 10^{18} \, \text{m}^{-2}$ is found for the $\text{Co}(20 \, \text{\r{A}})$ system. Additionally, we have investigated the iDMI strength, and the amplitude of iDMI decreases with increasing Au concentration. The highest surface iDMI constant value equal to 2.62 pJ/m is observed for Co.

Abstract: The first observation of the $\Xi_b^0 \to J/\psi \Xi^- \pi^+$ decay and the most precise measurement of the branching fraction of the $\Lambda_b^0 \to J/\psi \Xi^- K^+$ decay are reported, using proton-proton collision data from the LHCb experiment collected in 2016--2018 at a centre-of-mass energy of 13~TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4~fb$^{-1}$. Using the $\Lambda_b^0 \to J/\psi \Lambda$ and $\Xi_b^0 \to J/\psi \Xi^-$ decays as normalisation channels, the ratios of branching fractions are measured to be: \[ \frac{\mathcal{B}(\Lambda_b^0 \to J/\psi \Xi^- K^+)}{\mathcal{B}(\Lambda_b^0 \to J/\psi \Lambda)} = (1.17 \pm 0.14 \pm 0.08)\times 10^{-2} \, , \] \[ \frac{\mathcal{B}(\Xi_b^0 \to J/\psi \Xi^- \pi^+)}{\mathcal{B}(\Xi_b^0 \to J/\psi \Xi^-)} = (11.9 \pm 1.4 \pm 0.6)\times 10^{-2}\, , \] where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic., Comment: All figures and tables, along with machine-readable versions and any supplementary material and additional information, are available at https://lbfence.cern.ch/alcm/public/analysis/full-details/3479/ (LHCb public pages)

50. Orbital Stability of Hierarchical 3 and 4-Body Systems with Inclination: Results for Kepler-1625, 1708, and HD 23079

Abstract: As the number of potential exomoon candidates grows, there is a heightened motivation of pursing orbital stability analyses. In this work, we provide an in-depth investigation into 4-body systems, consisting of a star, planet, moon, and submoon by using the N-body simulator rebound. Particularly, we focus on the system of Kepler-1625, where evidence of a possible exomoon has been obtained. We investigate the 3-body star--planet--moon system for the proposed exomoon parameters allowing us to identify stable regions associated with most of the space parameters. Thereafter, we consider a 4-body system including a potential submoon. We find that there are both stable and unstable regions, as expected, as well as resonance patterns that are further explored using numerical and analytical methods including secular perturbation theory. We are able to identify these resonances as secular in nature. In addition, we investigate 3-body versions of two other systems, Kepler-1708 and HD 23079, while also studying a 4-body version of HD 23079.
