Purpose: To report a case of seroreversion in a patient with HIV-associated bilateral CMV retinitis and the challenges associated with detection of this phenomenon in late stages of HIV. Method: Retrospective single case report. Results: The clinical picture of the patient on presentation was suggestive of viral retinitis. PCR confirmed a diagnosis of CMV retinitis. Serology for HIV-1 & 2 was negative. A viral load of HIV and CD-4 count confirmed his sero status to be positive for HIV. Improvement in visual acuity and slow resolution of the lesion was noted with both anti-viral for CMV and HIV. A repeat HIV-1 testing was positive with an improvement in CD4 count. Conclusion: In highly suspicious individual, with a negative serology (post screening test) for HIV, the disease status should be confirmed by testing the individual for HIV viral load and CD4 count. In the dynamic field of ophthalmology, artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as a transformative tool in managing complex conditions like uveitis. Characterized by diverse inflammatory responses, uveitis presents significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. This systematic review explores the role of AI in advancing diagnostic precision, optimizing therapeutic approaches, and improving patient outcomes in uveitis care. A comprehensive search of PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, Web of Science, and Embase identified over 10,000 articles using primary and secondary keywords related to AI and uveitis. Rigorous screening based on predefined criteria reduced the pool to 52 high-quality studies, categorized into six themes: diagnostic support algorithms, screening algorithms, standardization of Uveitis Nomenclature (SUN), AI applications in management, systemic implications of AI, and limitations with future directions. AI technologies, including machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL), demonstrated proficiency in anterior chamber inflammation detection, vitreous haze grading, and screening for conditions like ocular toxoplasmosis. Despite these advancements, challenges such as dataset quality, algorithmic transparency, and ethical concerns persist. Future research should focus on developing robust, multimodal AI systems and fostering collaboration among academia and industry to ensure equitable, ethical, and effective AI applications. PurposeMethodsResultsConclusionTo report the multimodal imaging findings in the case of unilateral acute idiopathic maculopathy (UAIM) associated with Staphylococcus aureus infection in a young girl with good clinical outcome.Rare case report with multimodal imaging including fundus photography, optical coherence tomography (OCT), autofluorescence, multicolor imaging, OCT angiography, fluorescein angiography (FA), and polarization sensitive OCT (PS-OCT).A 13-year-old girl presented with blurring of vision in the left eye (OS). Fundus examination revealed yellowish subretinal deposits at the fovea in OS with findings resembling UAIM on ophthalmoscopy, OCT, and FA. We noted the OCT angiography and PS-OCT findings in this case. Blood culture revealed the growth of Staphylococcus aureus. Autoimmune work-up was negative. Patient was treated with appropriate systemic antibiotics. At 8 weeks follow-up, there was resolution of the lesion clinically and on OCT, with residual derangement of the retinal pigment epithelium.Our patient had UAIM presumed to have been triggered by systemic bacterial infection. The patient made an uneventful recovery following antimicrobial therapy. Multimodal imaging demonstrates the affection of the outer retinal layers and retinal pigment epithelium in this case. Purpose: Chikungunya is a re-emerging viral infection across the globe. The purpose of this article is to review the systemic and ophthalmic manifestations associated with chikungunya fever. Method: A review of literature was conducted using online databases. Results: In this report, we have reviewed the presently available literature on uveitis caused by chikungunya and highlighted the current knowledge of its clinical manifestations, imaging features, laboratory diagnostics, and the available therapeutic modalities from the systemic and ophthalmic standpoint. Conclusions: Ocular involvement in chikungunya infection may occur at the time of systemic manifestations or it may occur as a delayed presentation many weeks after the fever. Treatment relies on a supportive therapy for systemic illness. Treatment of ocular manifestation depends on the type of manifestations and usually includes a combination of topical and oral steroids. Aim: To evaluate the role of early prophylactic inguinal node dissection in patients with squamous cell cancer and melanoma of lower limb. Materials and Methods: From 2008 to 2018, a Tertiary Care Hospital connected to a teaching institute served as the site of this retrospective observational study. Patient records were gathered with the purpose of gathering clinical, investigative, surgical, pathological and follow-up information. Results: We included 33 patients in this analysis out of the 47 patients we treated ourselves between 2008 and 2018; among these 33 patients, 21 (63.63%) had palpable inguinal nodes at the time of primary presentation. All 21 patients' FNAC tests were positive for metastases, in 16 patients (76.19%). 5 patients on FNAC (23.80%) exhibited not metastases. The remaining 12 patients did not have enlarged lymph nodes at the time of their initial presentation. Patients who did not have palpable lymph node were given the option of having a modified inguinal block dissection. 8 patients with metastatic disease have nodes that are positive in histology. In addition, out of 5 patients with negative nodes 4 (80%) showed evidence of metastasis. Conclusion: The conclusion of this retrospective observational study is that although palpable lymph nodes in groin are unquestionably a sign that inguinal nodes should be dissected, prophylactic lymph node dissection should be still done even if nodes are not palpable or provide a negative FNAC result. Given that delayed lymphadenectomy has a significant effect on survival, delaying inguinal lymphadenectomy in non-palpable nodes could cause you to lose the battle against cancer in your lower limb. The related surgical morbidity is the only downside to prophylactic lymph node dissection. This can, however, be effectively decreased with a modified inguinal lymphadenectomy operation. Solvatochromism plays a pivotal role in various scientific and technological fields including those that explore molecular interactions, sensing technologies, and organic electronics. Notably, despite their ease of manipulation, direct visualization, and potential for single particle‐based sensing, micro‐sized solid particles have been the focus of a surprisingly low number of solvatochromism investigations. In this study, polydiacetylene (PDA) particles are synthesized and their solvatochromism is investigated at the single particle level using optical laser tweezers‐based methods. The findings reveal that unpolymerized monomers within PDA particles at the water/n‐decane interface undergo dissolution in the n‐decane phase to form internal voids in the particles. This phenomenon leads to structural deformation of the PDA which triggers a solvatochromic response. Studies that integrate this phenomenon with established particle‐based methodologies should provide deeper insights into diverse chromism behaviors and potential applications of solvatochromic materials. Acute retinal necrosis (ARN) as the term suggests is recognized as necrotic inflammation of retina, in contrast to toxoplasma retinochoroiditis where involvement of choroid can be appreciated as choroidal thickening on optical coherence tomography scan during active stage. Secondly, sequelae of ARN, such as chronic anterior uveitis and cystoid macular edema, could be challenging to manage as steroid use in various forms poses a risk of virus reactivation. We present a case of ARN caused by varicella zoster virus with an initial confusing clinical picture with toxoplasma retinochoroiditis, documented with choroidal involvement. The patient also developed a chronic anterior uveitis with macular edema after resolution of ARN which was treated with topical interferon (IFN) alfa 2b therapy with successful outcome. This report supports the recently described choroidal involvement in ARN and suggests topical IFN as a novel treatment in management of chronic macular edema post ARN. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

People who are blind or partially sighted rely significantly on their other senses, such as touch and auditory cues, to comprehend their surroundings. There is a need to deploy a technology that assists visually impaired persons in their daily routines, as there is now very little aid. Existing solutions, such as Screen Reading software and Braille devices, assist visually impaired individuals in reading and gaining access to numerous gadgets. However, these technologies are rendered worthless When the blind need to perform basic activities like recognizing the situation before them, such as recognizing people or objects, technologies become ineffective. This method will benefit blind or visually challenged all across the world. The goal is to help a person with total or partial blindness obtain a second set of eyesight without the assistance of a guardian, allowing them to live a better and more independent life. This project outlines working to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment, focusing on assistive technology that provides services, resources, and information to those with visual disabilities.

Natural Language Processing holds immense potential for extracting insights from healthcare data, but it demands stringent privacy protection. Privacy-preserving NLP techniques, notably Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), offer a path to advanced analytics while preserving patient data confidentiality. This paper marks the culmination of our initial phase, focusing on data preparation and encryption. We’ve employed FHE with the CKKS scheme to ensure data remains encrypted. Performance evaluation adapts multiclass classification metrics, addressing the distinct nature of healthcare data. As we conclude this phase, we emphasize that this is only the beginning. Subsequent steps will focus on developing NLP models trained on encrypted data. Brain tumours, whether benign or malignant, pose a significant medical challenge, demanding early and precise identification for improved patient outcomes. Recent advances in deep learning algorithms have revolutionized medical image analysis, offering new possibilities for automated tumor detection. This research presents an innovative approach that integrates convolutional neural networks (CNNs) with sophisticated segmentation algorithms like BWT, aiming to enhance the precision and reliability of diagnosing brain tumours. Our approach employs the Biologically inspired BWT based on the human visual system’s ability to detect edges and contours in images within MRI scans and a deep CNN, utilizing state-of-the-art architectures like VGG and ResNet, to classify segmented regions as tumorous or healthy tissue. Furthermore, this study incorporates the u-net architecture to determine the specific location and features of the tumour, providing medical professionals with three-dimensional diagnostic help. This is especially useful given that the process of segmentation is difficult, repetitive, monotonous, and prone to errors. By combining these techniques, this hopes to significantly improve the accuracy and reliability of brain tumour identification, providing a reliable tool for medical practitioners. By analyzing arguments and proposing rational solutions, the article aims to promote informed decision-making and critical thinking in homeopathic practice. It emphasizes the importance of recognizing and addressing fallacies to foster transparent discussions and ensure patient safety. Proposed solutions include standardized causality assessment, enhanced pharmacovigilance, quality assurance measures, education, awareness, collaboration, and research.
