In this paper it is tested the influence of the energy supplement, based on propylene glycol (PG), on the energetic status and fertility. The study includes 72 heads, high pregnancy and freshly calved cows of HF breed, divided into four groups: O1 (n=28), O2 (n=14), O3 (n=20) and O4 (n=10). In O1 PG was given from the 50th up to 80th days postpartum, and in O3 group from 14 days antepartum to the 14th postpartum. Daily dose of PG was 160 ml. O2 and O4 represent the control groups and here it is not used PG. Blood sampling and body score condition (BSC) are done on the 14th day antepartum and on the 14th day postpartum in O3 and O4 groups and on the 50th and the 80th day postpartum in O1 and O2 groups, as well as on the day of the first, second and third artificial insemination (AI1, AI2 and AI3) in all groups. Blood samples were collected for glucose and serum samples for proteins, albumins, globulins, urea, triglycerides, cholesterol, bilirubin, carotene, calcium and phosphorus. From serum samples, extracted on day AI1, it is determined a concentration LH and FSH, by ELISA. Echograms of dominant follicle (DF) and colposcopy cervical recordings are recorded on the day AI1, AI2 and AI3. The glycemia, on the 14th day postpartum, was greater in the treated O3 group compared with control O4 group (2,88±0,24vs.2,51±0,36 mmol/l, p<0,01). On the day AI1 are determinated statistically significant differences in proteinemia between treated groups (O1 and O3; 70,25±4,61vs.64,19±6,84 g/l, p< 0,01). The application of PG in the transition period (O3) in comparison with the application of PG in the late postpartum period (O1), had a significantly shorter interval from calving to AI1 (99,64±25,50vs.72,11±27,74 days, p<0,05) and service period (75,67±22,21vs. 125,87±38,19 days, p<0,01). The PG had no influence on the diameter of DF, but on the day AI2 and AI3, in treated cows increased the number of the DF class A (1,50-2,00 cm). There was no effect of the PG on BSC, concentration
