Purpose: The consequences of corporate corruption control (CCC) have either been investigated outside the firm (e.g. foreign direct investment inflows) or inside the firm (e.g. profitability). Yet prior research addresses these implications separately, treating them as distinct phenomena, ignoring questions at their intersection. However, corruption control can be leveraged to benefit both organizations (internally) and environments (externally). In line with open systems theory, this study aims to explore a ripple effect of corruption control not only inside organizations (efficiency through adoption of sustainable resource management practices) but also outside [community-centered corporate social performance (CSP)]. Design/methodology/approach: Using a longitudinal sample of multinational enterprises from Forbes list of "The World's Largest Public Companies," the authors use a cross-lagged panel design to provide clarity regarding causal effects. Findings: Results confirm causal directionality and support the positive effect of corruption control on resource management and community CSP, contributing toward understanding implications at the organization–environment interface. Originality/value: The authors examine both internal and external implications of CCC. The use of a cross-lagged design that is relatively novel to the management field allows to check for casual effects between CSP elements that were previously assumed to have reciprocal casual effects. Healthcare knowledge management systems can mitigate hospitals' operational inefficiency. As a healthcare information technology, the electronic health record (EHR) receives much attention from medical institutions due to its considerable impact on operational cost performance. This paper focuses on EHR systems to address operational inefficiency by which patients pay more for health care services, and many U.S. hospitals are filing for bankruptcy. From the theoretical perspective of the practice-based view, this paper introduces a path to implement EHR systems for improving cost performance. The empirical investigation is archival data of 200 hospitals collected from the U.S. healthcare agencies. Findings contribute to prior work by hypothesizing moderating and mediating roles in EHR systems implementation. This paper introduces absorptive capacity and monitoring mechanisms as enablers of implementing EHR systems. The results showed that hospital monitoring strengthens the relationship between absorptive capacity and electronic health record systems implementation, which results in better operational cost performance. Theoretically, this study supports the long-term potential benefits of EHR adoption, and its findings are consistent with optimizing efficiency through data standardization and interoperability. From a practical perspective, this study supports hospitals' investments in evolving healthcare information technology systems through the development of a knowledge-based system employing EHR, particularly when hospitals are merging or need a financial strategic plan to control expenses. This paper provides empirical evidence using two studies to explain the primary factors facilitating electronic health record (EHR) systems adoption through the lens of the resource advantage theory. We aim to address the following research questions: What are the main organizational antecedents of EHR implementation? What is the role of monitoring in EHR system implementation? What are the current themes and people's attitudes toward EHR systems? This paper includes two empirical studies. Study 1 presents a research model based on data collected from four different archival datasets. Drawing upon the resource advantage theory, this paper uses archival data from 200 Texas hospitals, thus mitigating potential response bias and enhancing the validity of the findings. Study 2 includes a text analysis of 5154 textual data, sentiment analysis, and topic modeling. Study 1's findings reveal that joint ventures and ownership are the two main enablers of adopting EHR systems in 200 Texas hospitals. Moreover, the results offer a moderating role of monitoring in strengthening the relationship between joint-venture capability and the implementation of EHR systems. Study 2's results indicate a positive attitude toward EHR systems. The U.S. was unique in the sample due to its slower adoption of EHR systems than other developed countries. Physician burnout also emerged as a significant concern in the context of EHR adoption. Topic modeling identified three themes: training, healthcare interoperability, and organizational barriers. In a multimethod design, this paper contributes to prior work by offering two new EHR antecedents: hospital ownership and joint-venture capability. Moreover, this paper suggests that the monitoring mechanism moderates the adoption of EHR systems in Texas hospitals. The purpose of this study is to observe students in learning teams and how their observations of their team and team members are reflected in peer evaluations. We examine pre- and post-team history elements, such as basic demographics, personality factors, exam scores, and observations of team process and team goal attainment. Pre- and post-team history factors correlate with peer evaluations and are discussed. In our analyses, we take into account intraclass correlations and individual and group effects. Suggestions are given for future research. This study aims to investigate the deployment of a proposed search field division method (SFDM) within evolutionary algorithms (EAs) to enhance the capability of searching for the global optima in nonlinear problems. The proposed technique is benchmarked against the following eight widely-used single-modal, multi-modal, and unimodal benchmark functions: Sphere, Rosenbrock, Rastringin, Griewank, Ackley, Fletcher, Quartic, and Schwefel functions, and the outcome is compared to their standard EAs counterparts to validate the effectiveness of the deployed approach in EAs. In the proposed method, we apply three low, medium, high field divisions (1, 2, and 5) dimensions on nine different EAs simultaneously with two different scenarios, 10 and 100 variables, to reach the optimal solution. Then for the validity of our proposed SFDM technique, we examined the exploration-exploitation search space rates and diversity behavior. The results of the implementation of SFDM on eight benchmark test functions show that the consideration of dimensions using SFDM for EAs improves the outcomes of all nine tested EAs. In our proposed method, we find better compatibility with the integration of SFDM in the Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm concerning searching for the optimum solution relative to the other EAs. The medical field is becoming bigger and more complex in the 21st century, diseases both emergent and re-emergent are on the rise and are costing lives around the world. Evolution of many diseases has made people find a reason to seek medical care in healthcare centers. This has led to increased development of health care facilities as peoples' urge to get quality diagnosis and treatment rises. However, in the past patients ended up waiting a long time in their efforts to obtain these services. These wait times were due to the lack of proper documentation and recording of the personal information. Hospitals and health centers had to hire an increased numbers of health practitioners to handle the paper work as patient populations increased. Due to the massive amount of issues experienced and the patient agony, healthcare professionals were prompted to develop fast, reliable and efficient methods of handling large amounts of data within a short time. The rise of digital technologies enables the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system to be utilized in the healthcare setting. This tool has revolutionized the whole spectrum of capturing and recording medical health data. Today, health care agencies and organizations can retrieve and store a patient's personal health information where physicians can readily access this information from their offices. Therefore, EMR is the real time solution to the health information management problem and through it there will be an improved patient experience in terms of wait time, diagnosis, and treatment. However, there are some challenges that come with the system that should be addressed to ensure efficiency. After a systemic review of the literature, we have used a systemigram approach and modeled the current challenges of EMR implementation and the related solutions to EMR system adoption. The objective of this study is to provide a systems-thinking approach to better contextualize the role of EMR in the complex system of healthcare from a multi-stakeholder perspective.
