- Abstract
The aim of this study was to compare internal load and external load between AirBadminton and traditional indoor badminton. The research was conducted with 8 badminton players from the Alicante Technification Centre, including both men and women. The study was carried out based on the recommendations and guidelines of the International Badminton Federation. The procedure included competitions in both 1vs1 and 2vs2 formats, first on sand and then on hard court. Various variables related to players' internal and external load were analysed, using devices such as WIMU PRO for external load and Polar H7 transmitters for internal load. Data analysis was performed using statistical tests such as T-Student and Wilcoxon. Results showed significant differences between indoor badminton and AirBadminton in terms of internal and external load. In the 1vs1 format, indoor badminton was found to be more demanding, with higher intensity efforts, greater distance covered, and higher heart rate compared to AirBadminton. Similar results were observed in the 2vs2 format, confirming that indoor badminton involves greater effort. AirBadminton may be a healthier and more accessible alternative, suitable for different age groups, as it is less explosive and lighter in terms of internal and external load. Future research should focus on technical, tactical, and full-match duration aspects of this new modality.

- Abstract
The aim of this study was to measure the effect of fast play on a handball team’s performance by assessing ranking in three European Men’s Championships (Euro 2018, 2020, 2022) as a dependent variable. The independent variables indicating fast play were the ranking of the team in the tournament, total fast breaks (TFB) per match played, successful fast breaks (SFB) per match played, total fast throw-offs (TFTO) per match played, and successful fast throw-offs (SFTO) per match played. Analyses for each tournament included descriptive statistics, correlation analyses between team ranking and TFB, SFB, TFTO, and SFTO per match played, and hierarchical regression analyses to identify whether the independent variables could predict team ranking in a tournament. TFB and SFB per match played were statistically significant predictors of tournament placement for all three European tournaments examined. Euro 2018 scored the highest team ranking prediction for both TFB and SFB. However, TFTO and SFTO per match played were not significant predictors of tournament placement in all three tournaments. In conclusion, the TFB and SFB per match played were statistically significant predictors of tournament placement.

- Abstract
The objective of this study was to analyse the physical condition of students in the third cycle of Primary Education from various educational centres in the Province of Alicante, in relation to their socioeconomic level. The study sample was made up of a total of 240 students from the third cycle of Primary Education, specifically 136 boys and 104 girls, from various schools located in three different geographical environments in the province of Alicante (urban, rural, coastal). A correlational and descriptive study was carried out. To measure the socioeconomic level of the students, families completed the Social Class Questionnaire; Regarding the anthropometric and motor condition of the students, body composition, musculoskeletal capacity, aerobic capacity and motor capacity were evaluated, for which the ALPHA-Fitness battery was used. In addition, to measure the students' adherence to the Mediterranean diet and extracurricular sports activity, the students filled out the KIDMED and PAQ-C questionnaires (Physical Activity Questionnaire for Children) respectively. The results showed that the students in the study with a higher socioeconomic level have a better physical condition in terms of body composition, musculoskeletal capacity, aerobic capacity and motor capacity. Therefore, it is necessary to implement programs and activities that encourage the practice of physical activity and the acquisition of healthy habits, especially in the most disadvantaged areas.

- Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the beach volleyball set and technical performance indicators that best discriminate between winning and losing elite women’s teams in set according to the final score differences of the set. The data have been collected from all sets played (N = 236) in the women’s beach volleyball 2022 World Championship. Cluster analysis established two types of 21 points sets (S-21): balanced (S-21B) with a difference from 2-5 points and unbalanced (S-21U) with a difference >5 points. A discriminant function analysis indicated which skill(s) significantly contribute to winning in each type of set. The results of this study revealed that the teams that won S-21B, S-21U and S-15 had better performance than their opponents in set indicators (attack, block, serve, opponent errors) and technical indicators (attack kill percent, attack efficiency, and serve efficiency). Attack points and attack kill percent were the most important predictors of a team's success in terms of set and technical indicators, respectively. In summary, the attack kill percent is the most important indicator in elite women’s beach volleyball in every type of set. However, serve aces per set point significantly increases the probability of winning a set in every type of 21-point set, while block per set points contributes equally significantly in 15-point sets. Despite the high level of blocking, women's teams must avoid attack errors to improve their chances of winning a set. The study’s findings highlight the importance of the offensive ability to win a set, in women’s elite beach volleyball.

- Abstract
Sports commitment is a psychological construct that has been studied since the 1990s and that has been used in the educational field. The main objective of this study is to analyze the suitability of AirBadminton to acquired sports commitment and the classroom climate generated through the practice of AirBadminton. It was also proposed to analyze the physical, technical and temporal characteristics of AirBadminton. The research was developed with 1298 students between 13 and 15 years of age (mean ± standard deviation; body height: 1.61 ± 7.08 m; body mass 59.68 ± 7.11 kg); one group developed an AirBadminton didactic unit forming the experimental group, and a second group carried out other net games, being the control group. The following instruments were used: the Sports Commitment Questionnaire-2 CCD-2, the Brief Class Climate Scale EBCC, the analysis software LongoMatch version 1.10.1, the heart rate (HR) and the distance traveled of some participants were monitored with different Polar brand sensors (Polar H10 and Verity Sense) and two SPI-Elite GPS devices from the GPSports brand. Results show that sports commitment was increased in the experimental group. AirBadminton shows aspects that are directly and positively related to intrinsic motivation and adherence to sports practice; it improves the classroom climate and increases the desire to excel of the participants.

- Abstract
The main purpose of this observational prospective pilot study was to evaluate the effects of hydrolysed collagen supplementation, in endurance training, in the performance of runners. A cohort of sixty-one subjects (women with an age = 44 ± 5 years; height = 1.65 ± 0.4 m; weight = 58.4 ± 5.2 kg; men with an age = 51 ± 3 years; height = 1.82 ± 0.2 m; weight = 74.4 ± 3.1 kg) received a collagen supplement (11 g / day) during 16 weeks. They performed a 21 kilometre endurance test (21KmET) at baseline and after 16 weeks of follow up. Squat Jump (SJ) and Counter Movement Jump (CMJ) tests were measured before and after each 21KmET and biochemical analyses and a bioimpedance were performed after each 21KmET. Subjects underwent three sport training sessions a week and a supplement intake during the follow up. Regarding the 21KmET time, there were significant differences between before and after supplementation intake (p < .05) and a higher pain perception was assessed with a visual analogue scale at the second 21KmET (p < .05). Significant improvements were observed in handgrip strength, SJ and CMJ after 16 week of supplement intake. Conclusions: A programmed endurance training improves the functionality of the runner in long-distance events and a periodic intake of hydrolysed collagen could help a better performance because it improves the conditions of muscles and joints.

- Abstract
The effect of explicit, implicit, and analogy learning methods on developing selective attention skills in young novice participants was examined under normal and stressful conditions. The 60 novice participants, aged 11-12 years old, followed a video simulation intervention program of 12 sessions (3 times * 4 weeks). They were tested four times (pre-test, post-test, retention, and stress test) to evaluate their reaction time and accuracy in selective attention skills. The differences among the groups and the measurements were analysed using a two-way mixed factorial ANOVA (4 groups * 4 measurements), and post-hoc Bonferroni evaluated significant differences among the groups. The results showed that all three experimental groups improved their performance in response reaction time and accuracy from the pre-test to the post-test and maintained their scores on the retention test. However, the analogy group had the best scores, followed by the implicit group, and they were both better than the explicit group. According to the stress test, the analogy and the implicit group remained unaffected while the explicit group showed a decrease in both reaction time and accuracy. Training by analogy was more effective in improving selective attention in novices in both normal and stressful conditions. Analogy learners probably developed an advanced mechanism that allowed them to quickly and accurately select the most useful information from the sport setting even in stressful conditions. This research highlights the advantages of simulation techniques; future research may assess selective attention in real conditions.

- Abstract
Global population statistics demonstrate clear evidence that unhealthy lifestyle choices - including hyper-caloric, low-nutritional density diets and sedentary lifestyle - are raising the global burden of diseases, morbidity and mortality at alarming rates. Healthy diets and exercise are recommended by all health care professionals as a proven treatment and prevention measure for health conditions, yet less than 10% of the population in some countries rigorously follow the minimum physical activity recommendations. In addition, many that do follow physical exercise-and-diet recommended guidelines do not achieve tangible results due to questionable methodologies of such programs. Furthermore, the recent COVID-19 pandemic dramatically affected global healthcare and has contributed to exacerbate the situation due to imposed lockdowns, where the costs of sedentary lifestyles threaten to bankrupt an already overtaxed public health care. Consequently, the public health worldwide desperately needs practical and cost-effective measures to reduce the effects of non-communicable diseases. Muscle mass hypertrophy-based physical exercise and biological adapted diet could provide the physiological solution, while novel game-based technology could help the challenges of exercise compliance. This review aims to, firstly, to revise the importance of achieving, maintaining and recovering muscle mass and strength for improved health outcomes. Secondly, evaluate the benefits of directing the focus of medical interventions towards hypertrophic exercise and diet as an effective treatment to improve health and longevity. Thirdly, we propose the CyFit SmartGym, a novel device, as a potential screening tool for monitoring strength levels and as a HIIT/strength training for improving and documenting health outcomes.

- Abstract
The objective of this article was to establish comparisons between different special operations units of the army. 91 male subjects (mean ± Standard deviation; age: 33.05 ± 3.28 years; height: 1.77 ± 1.37 m; body weight 79.02 ± 1.59 kg), divided into 4 groups (mountain, diving, UEO and mobility), were evaluated through body composition and stress tests. A bioimpedance test was carried out to determine the different tissues and an incremental treadmill stress test with a gas analyser to establish the different physiological parameters. The results showed significant differences in terms of heart rate (HR) in the different thresholds (ventilatory threshold 1, ventilatory threshold 2 and maximum oxygen consumption) and in the speed reached in these (p < .05). On the other hand, with respect to body composition (muscle mass weight, % fat mass and fat weight), no significant differences were observed between the different groups analysed (p > .05).

- Abstract

- Abstract
The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between isometric force produced in different joints and its effects on the power kick serve speed in beach volleyball as a predictive aspect to improve sports performance. Seven athletes competing at national and international levels (mean ± standard deviation; age: 21.6 ± 3.20 years; body height: 1.87 ± 0.08 cm; body mass 80.18 ± 7.11 kg) were evaluated using maximum isometric force contractions (i.e., spinal and knee extension, grip by a hand dynamometer (handgrip), internal shoulder rotation, shoulder flexion, elbow flexion and extension, and wrist flexion). Speed of the ball was recorded with a pistol radar and force was measured with a strain gauge. Results showed a relationship between isometric force developed in the internal rotation of the shoulder and speed of the ball (r = 0.76*; p < 0.05). In the remaining isometric exercises, positive low to moderate correlations were found in the spine and knee extension (r = 0.56; p = 0.200) and elbow flexion (r = 0.41; p = 0.375). On the other hand, the remaining isometric exercises obtained weak or non-significant correlations. Force developed in the internal rotation of the shoulder highly correlated with the speed of the power kick, explaining, together with the elbow flexion and the extension of the knee and back, much of the variability of the power kick of beach volleyball athletes.

Despite being one of the most practiced sports in Europe, handball does not generate great interest on the part of the scientific community in its female modality. Given the relevance of situations of numerical superiority during the matches, the present work aims to analyze, in greater detail, the effective and ineffective offensive superiority sequences that occurred during the Women Handball World Championship (Sweden 2016). The observational methodology and the sequential analysis of delays have been used for this investigation. The results obtained reveal a successful offensive game pattern (ending in goal). This pattern uses an unstructured tactical system, regardless of its starting form, using the first wave counterattack as the main offensive play, to finish the actions with situations of 1vs0. - Abstract
In the men’s final of Beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics 2016 Brazil won Italy team with 2-0 sets. The aim of this study was to find the a) timing characteristics, b) distribution of jumps, c) distribution of side-out and counter attacks, d) type of attack. Player's age was 29 ± 3.4 years and height was 196.5 ± 8.5 cm (Blockers = 203 cm, Defenders = 190 cm). A total of 78 points were played in the match (38.39 min). Distribution of rallies was: Serve errors = 7.7%, Aces = 5.1%, Side-outs = 59% and Counter attacks = 28.2%. The work duration was 7.6 ± 4.7 sec while the rest was 26.2 ± 17.7 sec (ratio = 3.5). The work alone duration without serve aces and errors was 8.6 ± 4.3 (ratio = 3). The rest alone without other intervals was 20.3 ± 6.1 (ratio = 2.4). The total number of jumps was 264 (66 ± 22.7 jumps per player) and the distribution of jumps was (Attack = 38.6%, Block = 31% and Servis = 30.3%). The attacks that blocked were 11.8% while the percentage of spikes was 52.8% and the shots was 47.2%. In conclusion, the results are in accordance with other articles concerning high level of beach volleyball. Coaches should use in the training sessions the specific demands of the work and rest ratio and adapt the rally distribution according to percentages occurring during the match and also use the performance indicators of the best teams in the world.

- Abstract
The main aims of this study were: 1) to compare 1-minute RMSSD measurements using different stabilization times between them and also with the criterion; and 2) to determine the agreement between every 1-minute RMSSD measurement with the criterion in professional soccer players. Seven hundred eighteen HRV measurements from professional soccer players were taken. HRV was calculated from 5 to 10 minutes (criterion) and from 1-minute windows with different pre-stabilization times. Friedman and post-hoc tests were applied to compare 1-minute and criterion measurements. Effect size was considered to describe magnitude of change. To determine agreement, Spearman’s correlation was applied, and Bland–Altman analysis was also done between each ultra-short HRV time window and the 5-minute HRV criterion period. The 1-minute HRV without any pre-stabilization time was the only one different from all the other 1-minute measurements that included 1 or more minutes of pre-stabilization (p<0.001). One-minute HRV measurements with 1 or more minutes of pre-stabilisation were highly correlated with those for the criterion period. One-minute HRV without pre-stabilization showed the lowest correlation and the highest bias from the criterion. It is concluded that 1-minute HRV measurements with a prior 1-minute or longer pre-stabilization time are valid to measure HRV in professional male soccer players.

- Abstract
In today's soccer, teams are increasingly better trained both physically and tactically, hence different game styles can be identified and differences between them reduced. However, without an exhaustive analysis of reality, the view can lead to the extraction of erroneous conclusions, and what seems to be a team with a marked offensive profile is a mere illusion, resulting to be a team that develops a perfectly balanced game. In this paper, an analysis of technical-tactical performance of players who occupied both wings in an elite team was made, taking as reference the Spanish national soccer team as the model of international game to imitate in the last decade. The development of this paper was located within the observational methodology, using the polar coordinates technique for the analysis of the obtained data. The results showed how, despite identifying offensive profiles within technical-tactical performance of players that occupied the outer wings or lanes of the playing field, their tactical means and orientations diverged from each other. The results showed a more offensive profile and with higher technical complexity of players that occupied the left wing, while players that held the right wing showed a more defensive and recuperative profile, indicating a less vertical and complex style of play at a technical level with the forward as an offensive reference.

- Abstract
In the context of physical activity and sport, perfectionism and the regular practice of physical activity are related to psychological well-being and the regulation of psychological resources necessary for adaptation to effort and satisfaction. At the same time, the most active students are also those who show greater appetites for physical education classes. The goal of this work was to identify the influence of perfectionist beliefs and the regularity of the practice of physical exercise on psychological well-being. The participants were adolescents (n = 436) aged between 14 and 19 years (M = 16.80, SD = .77). They were administered the Multidimensional Perfection Scale, the Psychological Wellbeing Scale, the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQv2), and a sociodemographic questionnaire. The results showed, under a non-random and transversal design, that the participants gave important value to physical exercise because they feel both active and vigorous. Regarding perfectionism, the functional aspects of perfectionism (expectations of achievement and organization) correlated positively, while the dysfunctional aspects (fear of committing errors and external expectations) did so negatively with the importance given to physical exercise performed by adolescents; this in turn positively predicted psychological well-being. In this way, the hypothesized model contemplated the relevance of the included variables and reflected the mediation of the degree of importance given to the practice of physical exercise on perfectionist beliefs and psychological well-being. Currently, most physical activity practice proposals for adolescents focus on federated and structured environments for competition, and those that deal with recreational and health-oriented sports are far less common. Hence, "the perfect way of doing sports" for a teenager should be accompanied by cognitive schemes aimed at strengthening psychological resources that allow the regulation of beliefs, at

- Abstract
Background: The practice of Physical Activity (PA) is a key factor for the improvement of physical and mental health, making the study of the motivational processes that take part in the development of active lifestyles of interest. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 775 university students of Physical Education (PE) from Spain. This research aims to develop an explanatory model for the relationships between motivational climate and resilience according to the level of PA, using structural equations analysis. The main instrument used were the Perceived Motivational Climate in Sport (PMCSQ-2) and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC). Results: A negative relationship was observed between task-oriented climate (TC) and ego-oriented climate, which acquired greater correlation strength in the respondents who did less PA. Likewise, a positive relationship was obtained between TC and resilience, which was higher in participants who did more than 3 h of weekly PA. Finally, it was observed that resilience was highly correlated with personal competence, tenacity and control capacity in the most active respondents. Conclusion: The importance of promoting task-oriented motivational climates in PA is highlighted, since this could develop a better resilience capacity in university students and will favor the tolerance to adversity and the positive acceptance of changes.
