Introduction: The aim of the study was to investigate the impact of various factors on the quality of life (HRQoL) of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) treated with hemodialysis (HD) and kidney transplantation (KT) in the Specialized Center of the Military Medical Academy (VMA). Material and Methods: The study was designed as a cross-sectional study, and conducted on a sample of 144 subjects (67 HD and 77 KT) patients. We evaluated HRQOL using a 15D standardized questionnaire. The data were collected by anamnesis, physical examination, antrophometric measurement, analysis of medical records, analysis of conducted questionnaired and laboratory tests. Results: The study groups did not differ significantly in terms of gender, marital status and educational level, while a significant difference was observed with respect to age, working status, BMI, hemoglobin, albumin, urea, glucose and CRP concentrations. Introduction: The occurrence of Internal Carotid Artery (ICA) pseudoaneurysm after trauma is rare. According to the literature, most cases of ICA pseudoaneurysms were associated with vehicle accidents and males were most affected. The treatment of traumatic ICA pseudoaneurysm (TICAP) with open surgery poses excess risk, thus endovascular treatment strategies have been applied during last decade. Case report: In this manuscript, we presented a patient, a twenty-year-old young man who was injured in a traffic accident and was admitted to the Clinical Center of Montenegro. After the, the final angiographic control showed the symmetry of the arterial and venous timing in both hemispheres of the brain. The patient was discharged from the hospital seven days after the endovascular procedure and did not complain of further bleeding episodes or any neurological deficit during the 24-month follow-up. Conclusion: CTA or MRA are commonly used imaging modalities to evaluate aneurysm involving carotid arteries, but gold standard tool is digital subtraction angiography. Given our case experience, trauma patients who have persistent epistaxis associated with a midface fracture must be monitored for a longer postoperative period.

Introduction: Hepatitis B infection is an occupational disease of professionals healthcare professionals at the global level. It is estimated that 600,000 to 800,000 healthcare professionals in the world experience an accident at work. The results of evidence-based studies suggest that there is a gap in knowledge about HBV among healthcare professionals. Aim: The aim of this research is to assess knowledge and attitudes about the hepatitis B virus and prevention measures in the population of healthcare professionals employed in tertiary healthcare institutions in Montenegro. Introduction: The treatment of facial bone fractures dates back to ancient civilizations, with various methods of prosthetic immobilization developed and in the second half of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. In our literature, there are almost no studies that examined the quality of life of patients with facial bone fractures, although worldwide this is an extremely current topic indicating the importance of this problem. Methods: This paper will present results from professional/scientific relevant data sources on the historical development of maxillofacial surgery with reference to etiology, epidemiology and instruments for assessing the quality of life of patients with jaw bone fractures. Topic: Medical treatment of these surgical injuries involves a highly specialized team led by a maxillofacial surgeon. This paper deals with the etiology, epidemiology and quality of life of patients with facial bone fractures. Conclusion: Surgical interventions for fractures of the facial bones are becoming more and more demanding, resulting in development of maxillofacial surgery as an independent branch. In the etiology of facial bone fractures, traffic accidents are mentioned more and more often as the main way of injury. The incidence of facial bone fractures in human pathology is about 30 per 100,000 hospitalized patients. Research has shown that the quality of life in operated patients with fractures of the facial bones is significantly lower than those operated on some other region.

Introduction: Epidemiological studies have suggested an association between vitamin D deficiency and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in the male population with urological symptoms suggests a relationship between BPH and vitamin D. Methods: This paper will present information from relevant professional/scientific sources regarding the correlation of vitamin D levels with symptom intensity and quality of life of patients with BPH, as well as patient education and health care. Topic: The incidence of BPH is increasing with ageto such extent that it is unusual to find a histologically normal prostate in a man over 70 years of age, thus rising a question whether it should be considered an abnormality at all. From the beginning, the disease was classified as "the agony of the aged man" because benign gland enlargement carries a significant risk of morbidity due to urinary flow obstruction. Due to the long course of benign prostate hyperplasia, which significantly affects the quality of life and quality of sleep, the mental pressure in patients increases, resulting from both physical and mental pain. Therefore, the priority is to focus on medical measures which would improve the quality of life of elderly patients with BPH. Conclusion: After reviewing the literature, we came to the conclusion that the level of vitamin D is responsible for the quality of life of patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. Health care integration emphasizes the integration of existing resources within the overall health policy planning, and professionally trained medical staff provides medical treatment, rehabilitation, home care, psychological counseling and hospital care for elderly patients with chronic diseases and semi-disabled, disabled and oncological patients.

Introduction: Medical and legal problems of organ transplantation are numerous. The donor must be fully and properly informed about all elements regarding the transplantation, and especially about the possible consequences resulting from the removal of tissues and organs, which is an essential ethical problem. Aim: The aim of this research was to determine the attitude of health professionals and the general population in Montenegro towards some of the legal and ethical aspects of organ donation. Material and methods: The research was conducted with the consent of the Ethics Committee of the Clinical Center of Montenegro, in Podgorica number 03 / 01-1504. The sample was formed by random selection and consisted of 400 adult citizens of the city of Podgorica. The research included 200 health workers employed at the Clinical Center of Montenegro in Podgorica and 200 adult citizens of the city of Podgorica. Results: The majority of health workers (84.6%) state that the donor should be the one who gives consent for organ donation for life. Similarly, the vast majority (76%) of the general population believe the same. The largest percentage of participants, more than a third, in both groups, believe that using organs for the wrong purposes is sometimes possible, while almost a quarter of respondents said they did not believe it could happen. The difference in the opinion of health workers and the general population on this issue was not statistically significant (p = 0.522). Conclusion: From our research it can be concluded that both groups of respondents generally believe that the guarantee that organs will be used for the right purposes is the most important factor in organ donation and that the donor is the one who will give consent for living organ donation. The proposed measures need to create a strategy to increase confidence that organ donation will be done only for the right purposes, both in the general population and among health professionals.

Introduction: Stress in healthcare workers in the hospital is a series of harmful physiological and psychological reactions to situations in which certain job requirements are not in line with its capabilities. Aim: The purpose of this study was to identify the presence of stress in health care workers in the hospital conditions of the Clinical Center of Montenegro in Podgorica. Material and Methods: A descriptive research method was chosen. The sample consisted of persons of both sexes. 113 randomly selected respondents participated in the research, the target group is respondents employed at the Clinical Center of Montenegro, the Institute of Pediatrics, of which 27% are doctors and 73% nurses-technicians, of different education. An anonymous survey questionnaire compiled for the purposes of this research was used as a research instrument. It includes the working population of nurses and doctors, aged 20 to 65. Results: Measuring stress levels in health workers 27 variables were identified as potential causes of stress. Respondents point out "inadequate personal income" (68.14%) as the major cause of stress. More than a half of the respondents (50.44 %), point out that the biggest cause of stress is "Work overload". In third place is "Misinformation of patients from the media and other sources" (46.02%). As with previous considerations, it is evident that different causes of stress are treated differently in relation to the organizational unit in which the employee performs work duties. Conclusion: The biggest causes of stress, and therefore psychosomatic illnesses, are fear, worry and guilt. Lack of time, work pressures, deadlines, high expectations, but also many other factors can affect the occurrence of stress. Precisely for the above reasons, and having in mind the nature of work, this research sought to contribute to measuring how certain stressors can affect employees in a health care institution.

Introduction: The this paper the authors describe the development of the education program for nurses in public health in the European Union (EU). Methods: This paper will present information from relevant professional/scientifical data sources about the basic principles in the development of nursing and midwifery education programs, which will contribute to the development of new competencies of nurses in the field of health care and public health. The paper provides an overview of the Munich Declaration, followed by an overview of the educational systems for nurses and midwives in several countries of Western Europe and the Balkans. Topic: The authenticity of health care evaluation ensures the conditions for strengthening nurses’ awareness of the value of their own profession and the independence of acquired competencies and skills from inappropriate external interference. Recognizing the profession or authenticity of nursing requires more education. All questions and reflections are focused on the identity and authenticity of the profession, emphasizing the value of nursing care, as well as the aspiration that the development of the nursing profession remains within the framework of the fundamental value. Conclusion: Today, nurses make a significant contribution to the health care system of a country at all levels of health care. In order to achieve the professionalization of nursing, it is necessary to transform nurses, which implies a high level of quality knowledge and skills, as well as an awareness of moral and ethical responsibility towards patients, colleagues and oneself.
