Urban overpasses, being long-span linear projects, are inevitably affected by ground fissure activities. This study focused on the three-span continuous overpass, and used the MIDAS GTS NX finite element simulation software to establish the model of an urban overpass crossing active ground fissures with different straddling ground fissure positions and hanging wall settlements. This study analyzed the deformation and stress characteristics of soil and bridges induced by ground fissures under different working conditions. The results demonstrate that the soil’s displacement response is mainly concentrated near the ground fissures, and the displacement changes decrease with increasing ground fissures. Ground fissure activities redistribute the stress inside the beam and pier, resulting in the tilting of the pier. When the fissure activity is small, the use of multi-span beams to straddle the ground fissures can effectively reduce the influence of ground fissure activities on bridge deformation. However, when the fissure activity is significant, the bridge may be damaged, and excessive deformation of the bridge and piers may not meet code requirements. In such cases, the multi-span beam structure type should be changed to adapt to the ground fissure activity. The research results provide significant reference value for urban traffic planning and overpass design.

The key component of electrochemical advanced oxidation technology are high-efficiency anodes, and highly efficient and simple-to-prepare materials have generated a lot of interest. In this study, novel self-supported Ti3+-doped titanium dioxide nanotube arrays (R-TNTs) anodes were successfully prepared by a two-step anodic oxidation and straightforward electrochemical reduction technique. The electrochemical reduction self-doping treatment produced more Ti3+ sites with stronger absorption in the UV-vis region, a band gap reduction from 2.86 to 2.48 ev, and a significant increase in electron transport rate. The electrochemical degradation effect of R-TNTs electrode on chloramphenicol (CAP) simulated wastewater was investigated. At pH = 5, current density of 8 mA cm−2, electrolyte concentration of 0.1 M sodium sulfate (Na2SO4), initial CAP concentration of 10 mg L−1, CAP degradation efficiency exceeded 95% after 40 min. In addition, molecular probe experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) tests revealed that the active species were mainly •OH and SO4−, among which •OH played a major role. The CAP degradation intermediates were discovered using high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS), and three possible degradation mechanisms were postulated. In cycling experiments, the R-TNTs anode demonstrated good stability. The R-TNTs prepared in this paper were an anode electrocatalytic material with high catalytic activity and stability, which could provide a new approach for the preparation of electrochemical anode materials for difficult-to-degrade organic compounds.

Balenciaga, a famous luxury brand, was heavily criticized and boycotted by Chinese netizens after mishandling a queue cut incident in a famous French department store in Paris, involving Chinese customers and local staff. The incident caused an uproar on Chinese social media and generated more than 20 million views on Weibo (a famous Chinese social media platform) within two days. Chinese consumers defined the incident as racial discrimination and spontaneously launched a boycott campaign against Balenciaga. This chapter will mainly focus on public opinions and official responses from all parties, analyze the causes and consequences of this incident, and explain how Balenciaga manages to overcome this public relations crisis.

With the rapid development of the shipping industry, the safety and comfort of ship transportation have been paid more and more attention, and the pitch and heave motion of ships are the most serious factors. In this paper, the longitudinal motion mathematical model of YuKun is established. By assigning the zero-pole to the left half-plane and using the properties of the symmetric matrix, the shaping weighting functions matrix is designed to stabilize the Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) system of YuKun. Finally, a new concise robust controller is designed using the steady output of the shaped system. The simulation results show that under the control of the concise robust controller, the pitch angle and heave of YuKun decrease by 79.9% and 86.2%. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the concise robust controller has a good control effect on the longitudinal motion of YuKun, and is simple and easy to use, with clear engineering significance.

Livestock farming has led to the rapid accumulation of antibiotic resistance genes in the environment. Chloramphenicol (CAP) was chosen as a model compound to investigate its degradation during electrochemical treatment. Ti/PbO2 electrodes were prepared using electrodeposition. The prepared Ti/PbO2-La electrodes had a denser surface and a more complete PbO2 crystal structure. Ti/PbO2-Co electrodes exhibited improved electrochemical catalytic activity and lifetime in practice. The impact of different conditions on the effectiveness of CAP electrochemical degradation was investigated, and the most favorable conditions were identified (current density: I = 15.0 mA/cm, electrolyte concentration: c = 0.125 mol/L, solution pH = 5). Most importantly, we investigated the effects of the different stages of treatment with CAP solutions on the abundance of resistance genes in natural river substrates (intI1, cmlA, cmle3, and cata2). When CAP was completely degraded (100% TOC removal), no effect on resistance gene abundance was observed in the river substrate; incomplete CAP degradation significantly increased the absolute abundance of resistance genes. This suggests that when treating solutions with antibiotics, they must be completely degraded (100% TOC removal) before discharge into the environment to reduce secondary pollution. This study provides insights into the deep treatment of wastewater containing antibiotics and assesses the environmental impact of the resulting treated wastewater.

Recovery of surfactants in the soil washing effluent (SWE) can significantly reduce the cost of the soil washing (SW) technology. This paper consists of two parts experiments. The first part constructed a selective oxidation system of active chlorine by electrochemical technology to treat SWE. Three factors, current density, NaCl concentration and TW 80 to aniline concentration ratio (T/A), were set up for a total of nine sets of experiments after orthogonal design. The results of ANOVA analysis and visual analysis showed that the NaCl concentration greatly affected the aniline removal efficiency (ARE) and the TW 80 retention efficiency (TW 80 RE), and the effects were in opposite directions. The biotoxicity of the SWE decreased as the experiment progressed, and at the end of the experiment, 30%-45% of TW 80 was still present in each set. And the oxidation group quenching experiments determined that the degradation of aniline was mainly contributed by active chlorine. Because active chlorine slowed the loss rate of TW 80, the electrochemical treatment of SWE + soil in-situ sequential batch recirculation washing method was designed, and 50% of aniline in the soil was washed out after 125h. At the end of the experiment, the less biotoxic SWE was collected where no aniline and TW 80 were present, and only small organic acids were present after the GC-MS test. The method has a great potential to be applied as it shows good results in the treatment of soil pollution incidents.

The microstructure and tensile properties of the as-cast and as-rolled Mg–4.5Sn–5Zn alloys by adding various Sc content were investigated. Improvement of the tensile properties in as-cast Sc-containing alloys is attributed to the grain refinement and modification of secondary phase morphology. Three types of precipitates, namely spherical Mg2Sn, rod-like MgZn and Sc-rich phases were dispersed in the matrix of the Sc added Mg–4.5Sn–5Zn alloys after hot rolling deformation. In addition, weakening and deflecting of the basal texture in as-rolled alloys were found and were attributed to Sc addition. Further increasing the Sc addition rate to 0.4 wt.%, however, resulted in the clustering of the Sc-rich phases and was found to reduce the tensile properties of the alloy, especially the elongation. The as-rolled Mg–4.5Sn–5Zn–0.3Sc alloy exhibits an optimum combination of tensile properties. The ultimate tensile strength, yield strength and elongation are 293.0 MPa, 164.2Mpa and 21.5%, respectively, and the elongation is about 68% higher than that of Sc-free alloy. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic progressive lung disease characterized by the extensive accumulation of myofibroblasts and collagens. However, the exact mechanism that underlies this condition is unclear. Growing evidence suggests that NADPH oxidases (NOXs), especially NOX4-derived oxidative stress, play an important role in the development of lung fibrosis. Bleomycin (BLM) is a tumor chemotherapeutic agent, which has been widely employed to establish IPF animal models. Osthole (OST) is an active constituent of the fruit of Cnidium ninidium. Here, we used an in vivo mouse model and found that OST suppressed BLM-induced body weight loss, lung injury, pulmonary index increase, fibroblast differentiation, and pulmonary fibrosis. OST also significantly downregulated BLM-induced NOX4 expression and oxidative stress in the lungs. In vitro, OST could inhibit TGF-β1-induced Smad3 phosphorylation, differentiation, proliferation, collagen synthesis, NOX4 expression, and ROS generation in human lung fibroblasts in a concentration-dependent manner. Moreover, NOX4 overexpression could prevent the above effects of OST. We came to the conclusion that OST could significantly attenuate BLM-induced pulmonary fibrosis in mice, via the mechanism that involved downregulating TGF-β1/NOX4-mediated oxidative stress in lung fibroblasts.

Data augmentation is one of the common methods to improve the performance of neural networks. People usually use text mutation and synonym replacement techniques for text generation in order to augment the original data set in the field of natural language processing. However, these generated texts often contain ineffective data which could significantly corrupt the performance of learning systems. To address this challenging problem, in this paper, we propose a coverage-based framework to identify effective data of the augmented data set using three novel XLNet structural test coverage criteria on story ending prediction task. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed framework can improve the data quality of the augmented data set and make the model more reliable after retraining. Specifically, the effective data obtained by our method for data augmentation cause 0.03% to 33% prediction accuracy higher than the directly generated data used.

The image preprocessing algorithm can effectively improve performance of the advanced visual algorithms under complex conditions. But the evaluation of the image preprocessing algorithm usually uses the traditional PSNR/SSIM indicators, there is a big gap between the evaluation result and the performance of the algorithm in actual vision tasks. This article uses the UE4 virtual engine and referring to the atmospheric scattering model to construct a haze vehicle small object dataset (VSOD). Based on virtual data, a vision task-driven image preprocessing algorithm evaluation strategy is proposed. We take dehazing algorithms and object detection tasks as examples to verify the task-driven evaluation strategy. By analyzing the evaluation results of task-driven evaluation strategy and traditional PSNR/SSIM, we proved that the task-driven evaluation strategy can more accurately evaluate the performance of image preprocessing algorithms in actual vision tasks.

The autonomous ability of autonomous control strategy is the core of unmanned vehicle. At present, the autonomous ability test is mainly carried out through the actual road test, which is limited by the situation of test site, the number of test scenarios and test data collection. At the same time, it is difficult to reproduce a variety of dangerous scenarios, which makes the existing methods unable to meet the rapid test of all-round autonomous ability of unmanned driving control strategy. Aiming at the above problems, a fast test method of autonomous ability of unmanned driving control strategy in dangerous scene is proposed. Firstly, a new test model of autonomous ability is established to test the autonomous ability of unmanned vehicles from the four dimensions of "human intervention degree", "basic control ability", "environmental complexity" and "task execution". Secondly, the formal description method of dangerous scene is established to quickly realize the dangerous scene in the virtual scene, and the autonomous ability test platform based on virtual simulation environment is constructed, and then the autonomous ability test of unmanned driving control strategy is carried out. Finally, two different control strategies of unmanned vehicles are tested in more than 40 dangerous scenarios by using the built autonomous ability test model in the virtual simulation platform. The results show that the autonomous ability rapid test method can comprehensively test the driving control strategy of unmanned vehicles, and quickly discover the defects of the control strategy, so as to finally be unmanned Suggestions are put forward to verify and improve the autonomous ability of vehicle control strategy.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to evaluate the interocular differences in choroidal vasculature, choriocapillaris perfusion, and retinal microvascular network, and to explore their associations with interocular asymmetry in axial lengths (ALs) in children with anisomyopia. Methods Refractive error, AL, and other biometric parameters were measured in 70 children with anisomyopia. Using optical coherence tomography (OCT) and OCT-angiography, we measured the submacular choroidal thickness (ChT), total choroidal area (TCA), luminal area (LA), stromal area (SA), choroidal vascularity index (CVI), choriocapillaris flow deficit (CcFD), retinal vessel density (VD), and foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area. Results The mean interocular differences in spherical equivalent refraction and AL were −2.26 ± 0.94 diopters and 0.95 ± 0.46 mm, respectively. Submacular ChT, TCA, LA, SA, and CVI were all significantly lower in the more myopic (longer AL) eyes than in the less myopic (shorter AL) fellow eyes. In eyes with longer ALs, both the CcFD and FAZ areas were significantly greater, whereas the superficial and deep retinal VDs were significantly less. After adjusting for corneal power and intraocular pressure, interocular differences in LA (β = −0.774), SA (β = −0.991), and CcFD (β = 0.040) were significantly associated with interocular asymmetry in AL (all P < 0.05). Conclusions In pediatric anisomyopes, eyes with longer ALs tended to have lower choroidal vascularity and choriocapillaris perfusion than the contralateral eyes with shorter ALs. Longitudinal investigations would be useful follow-ups to test for a causal role of choroidal circulation in human myopia.

Purpose To explore the association of choroidal vascularity and choriocapillaris blood perfusion with myopic severity in anisomyopes. Methods Refractive error, axial length (AL), and other biometric parameters were measured in 34 anisomyopic young adults. Macular choroidal thickness (ChT) and choroidal vascularity, including total choroidal area (TCA), luminal area (LA), stromal area (SA), and choroidal vascularity index (CVI), were determined from swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) vertical and horizontal B-scans. The percentage of choriocapillaris flow voids (FV%) was obtained from en face SS-OCT-angiography. Results The spherical equivalent refraction (SER) was –3.35 ± 1.25 diopters in the more myopic eyes and –1.25 ± 1.17 diopters in the less myopic eyes (P < 0.001). The interocular difference in SER was highly correlated with that in AL (P < 0.001). The macular ChT, TCA, LA, and SA were smaller in the more myopic eyes than in the less myopic eyes in both vertical and horizontal scans (all P < 0.001). Importantly, the CVIs in vertical and horizontal scans were smaller and the FV% was greater in the more myopic eyes (P < 0.05). In vertical scans, the interocular difference in CVIs was correlated with that in the SER, AL, and ChT (all P < 0.05). The interocular difference in FV% was correlated with that in SER, AL, and vertical and horizontal ChTs (all P < 0.05). Conclusions Choroidal vascularity and choriocapillaris blood perfusion were lower in the more myopic eyes of anisomyopic adults. These changes were correlated with the severity of myopia and choroidal thinning, indicating that choroidal blood flow is disturbed in human myopia.

Chloride ion has an important influence on the performance of gypsum board prepared by desulfurization gypsum, especially in wet environment. Therefore, this paper analyzed the influence of chloride ion on the bonding propertiesof gypsum board and studied the ways to improve the bonding properties of gypsum board prepared by desulfurization gypsum with higher chloride ion content. Porous mineral materials were introduced into the preparation of gypsum board. The effects of porous mineral materials on the bonding properties and other mechanical properties of gypsum board were studied and the results were analyzed. The results show that adding 1% porous mineral material to the desulfurization gypsum with higher chloride ion content can improve the wet-thermal bonding properties obviously, and has little effect on the mechanical properties of the board.

Acrylamide, exists in carbohydrate-rich food heated at high temperatures, is a probable carcinogen to humans. Excessive alcohol intake can also lead to a variety of pathological changes in the body. Acrylamide in the foods and alcohol in the drinks are unavoidable. And studies have demonstrated that combination of the two substances which are taken into the body via diet may cause adverse effects in the cells, even induce impairments on testicular spermatogenesis in male offsprings. Both acrylamide and alcohol are mainly metabolized in the liver, where cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1) acts as the common metabolic enzyme of the two xenobiotics. This study aimed to explore the effects of acrylamide and alcohol combination on rat hepatoma BRL cells proliferation and the probable mechanisms. MTT, western blotting, EdU fluorescence staining, flow cytometry and PCR were used. Results showed that combination of acrylamide and alcohol at low doses promoted BRL cells proliferation through CYP2E1/Akt/ NF-κB/cyclinB1/cyclinD1 activation and ROS production. The combined effects of acrylamide and alcohol largely depended on ROS level. Furthermore, acrylamide and alcohol could synergistically induce miR-21, which was related to the progress of liver regeneration. These data showed that combination of acrylamide and alcohol at low doses promoted BRL cells proliferation through inducing ROS production, which indicated that intake of fried starch food with small dose of alcohol might have positive effects on liver regeneration.

Taking FGD gypsum as raw materials, gypsum whisker was prepared by using hydrothermal method. The effects of reaction temperature, reaction time, desulfurization gypsum slurry concentration and pH value on the growth of gypsum whisker were deeply researched. The optimum conditions for the preparation were that the reaction temperature was 140 ℃ ~ 145 ℃, reaction time was 200 ~ 240min, the slurry concentration was 13% ~ 15% and the slurry pH value was between 4.5 and 5. Reactivation of tumor suppressor genes by nontoxic bioactive food component represents a promising strategy for cancer chemoprevention. Retinoic acid receptor β (RARβ), one member of the RAR receptor family, is considered as a tumor suppressor. Reduced expression of RARβ has been reported in lung cancer and other solid tumors. DNA hypermethylation of the promoter region of RARβ is a major mechanism for its silencing in tumors. Recently, curcumin has been considered as a potential DNA methyltransferase inhibitor. Herein, we demonstrated that curcumin significantly elevate RARβ expression at the mRNA and protein levels in tested cancer cells. Additionally, curcumin decreased RARβ promoter methylation in lung cancer A549 and H460 cells. Mechanistic study demonstrated that curcumin was able to downregulate the mRNA levels of DNMT3b. In a lung cancer xenograft node mice model, curcumin exhibited protective effect against weight loss because of tumor burden. Tumor growth was strongly repressed by curcumin treatment. As the results from in vitro, RARβ mRNA were increased and DNMT3b mRNA were decreased by curcumin treatment compared with the mice in control group. Altogether, this study reveals a novel molecular mechanism of curcumin as a chemo-preventive agent for lung cancer through reactivation of RARβ.

Mineral wool fibers (MWF) commonly used in building insulation and decoration are incorporated with cuprous oxide particles at room temperature to inactivate Escherichia coli (E. coli). X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflection absorption spectroscopy (UV–vis/DRS) are employed to characterize the photocatalytic composites and the bactericidal effects are assessed by UV–visible spectrophotometry. Cuprous oxide particles with a size of 100 nm can be immobilized effectively on the surface of the MWF. The MWF improves the optical properties of cuprous oxide and red-shifts the band gap thereby enhancing the utilization efficiency of visible light. The Cu2O/MWF composites deliver excellent photocatalytic performance in the inactivation of E. coli. After illumination for 24 h, more than 95% of the bacteria are inactivated and the materials are suitable for indoor antibacterial applications.

Acrylamide, a proven rodent carcinogen, is present in carbohydrate-rich food heated at high temperatures. It can be metabolized into glycidamide mainly by cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1). The fact that acrylamide is a potential carcinogen to human-beings draws public attention recently. This study aimed to elucidate the effect of acrylamide at low doses on proliferation of HepG2 cells, and to test whether the two well-studied chemopreventive agents, curcumin and (−)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), would have antagonistic effects against acrylamide. The results showed that lower concentration of acrylamide (⩽100 μM) significantly increased the proliferation of HepG2 cells, but not of the other cancer cells (MDA-231, HeLa, A549, and PC-3). Only in HepG2 cells, low concentration of acrylamide was able to induce CYP2E1 expression significantly. Knockdown of CYP2E1 restrained acrylamide to increase viability of HepG2 cells. In addition, acrylamide raised expression of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), cyclin D1 and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB), which contributed to cell proliferation. Both curcumin and EGCG effectively reduced acrylamide-induced proliferation, as well as protein expression of CYP2E1, EGFR, cyclin D1 and NF-κB. All these results suggest that low concentration of acrylamide may contribute to progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Curcumin or EGCG could prevent acrylamide triggering this effect.
