O estudo da arquitectura tem vindo, progressivamente, a ser valorizado seja para conservação do património como para conhecimento geral da evolução da história de cada lugar. Nesta perspectiva, foram detectadas lacunas em relação à arquitectura moderna na ilha da Madeira. Na passagem de tantos grandes nomes da arquitectura nacional, que tiveram acção no território madeirense, pretende-se dar destaque ao arquitecto Carlos Chambers Ramos, pioneiro do Modernismo Português. Na tentativa de responder a esta ausência de informações, a presente Dissertação de Mestrado resulta do trabalho de investigação desenvolvido sobre a passagem do arquitecto Carlos Ramos na Madeira, no início dos anos 30, e aborda o vasto conjunto de projectos que idealizou, na sua maioria para a cidade do Funchal. A intervenção de Carlos Ramos, em contexto insular, abrange desde espaço público, com a definição de praças, largos, miradouros e fontanários, ao desenho de equipamentos como o projecto de reabilitação da Junta Geral do Districto do Funchal, a Câmara Municipal de São Vicente e o Sanatório, muito debatido na época. O arquitecto projectou ainda dez habitações de luxo para a classe média/alta e propôs dois modelos de bairros económicos, sendo um dos modelos actualizado para uma segunda versão. Destes projectos, e no contexto da investigação em parceria com o Centro de Estudos de Arquitectura e Urbanismo da Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto, é objectivo evidenciar o estudo sobre o tema habitação, nomeadamente através do Bairro Económico do Funchal e do Bairro dos Ilhéus, pela multiplicidade de conteúdos associados ao mesmo. No geral, o estudo dos projectos para o Funchal de Carlos Ramos correspondem a uma experiência enriquecedora de desenvolvimento de diversas tipologias e elaboração de um plano de melhoramentos para a capital. Apesar da não concretização dos seus projectos, eles foram posteriormente adaptados por terceiros sendo ainda possível encontrar os mesmo ideais (dos projectos propostos por Carlos Ramos) nos existentes. Deste modo, tenciona-se apresentar um estudo aprofundado sobre a época e sobre as obras iniciais do arquitecto em questão. Estas obras resultaram de um pensamento sobre o moderno e sobre o tradicional que mais tarde levaram ao amadurecimento das ideias do arquitecto. The study of architecture has been progressively valued both for heritage conservation and for the recognition and evolution of the history of each place. From this perspective, gaps have been detected in relation to modern architecture on Madeira Island. In the passage of so many great names of the national architecture that had action in the madeiran territory it's intended to highlight the architect Carlos Chambers Ramos, pioneer of Portuguese Modernism. In an attempt to respond to this lack of information, this Master's Dissertation results from the research work carried out on the passage of the architect Carlos Ramos in Madeira at the beginning of the 30s and deals with the vast set of projects that he idealized to the Funchal city. The intervention of Carlos Ramos in an insular context ranges from public space with the definition of squares, broadways, belvederes and fountains to the design of equipment such as the rehabilitation project of the Junta Geral do Districto do Funchal, Câmara Municipal de São Vicente and the Sanatório, much debated at the time. The architect also designed ten luxury housing for the middle/upper class and proposed two models of economic neighborhoods, one of the models being updated for a second version. The purpose of these projects and in the context of research in partnership with the Centro de Estudos de Arquitectura e Urbanismo of the Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto is to highlight the study on the subject of housing, namely through the Bairro Económico do Funchal and the Bairro dos Ilhéus by the multiplicity of contents associated with it. In general, the study of the projects for Funchal of Carlos Ramos corresponds to an enriching experience of development of several typologies and elaboration of a plan of improvements for the capital. Despite the fact that their projects were not implemented they were later adapted by third parties and it was still possible to find the same ideals (of the projects proposed by Carlos Ramos) in the existing ones. In this way it's intended to present a detailed study of the time and the initial works of the architect in question. These works resulted from a thought about the modern and the traditional that later led to the maturing of the architect's ideas.

L'articolo presenta una innovativa architettura per la moltiplicazione unificata nei campi binari GF(2m) e in aritmetica modulare. L'architettura è stata sintetizzata per ASIC ottenendo tempi di esecuzione più bassi rispetto alla migliore architettura presentata prima in letteratura (Satoh e Takano, IEEE Transactions on Computers, 2003)

Die vorliegende Arbeit ist als Weiterführung der Diplomarbeitsstudien von Böck (2010) und Eiter (2011) zu sehen, die es sich zum Ziel gesetzt haben für ausgewählte Subtests des AID 2 nach itemgenerierenden Regeln ein Itempool für eine Gruppen- beziehungsweise PC-Version des AID 2 zu entwickeln. Zu diesem Zweck wurden sowohl in den Vorgängerstudien, als auch in der aktuellen Studie, Kinder und Jugendliche zwischen 8;0 und 15;11 Jahren in vier oberösterreichischen Schulen mit dem neu entwickelten psychologisch-diagnostischen Verfahren getestet. In der vorliegenden Studie wurden die Daten von Böck (2010) und Eiter (2011) nach Verdopplung der Stichprobe auf etwa 1400 Testpersonen und unter Verwendung eines verlinkten Designs einer Reanalyse hinsichtlich der Konformität mit dem dichotomen logistischen Modell nach Rasch unterzogen. Die Modellgültigkeit wurde mit dem Likelihood-Ratio-Test nach Andersen (1973) hinsichtlich der Teilungskriterien Score, Alter und Geschlecht überprüft. Für den Subtest „Funktionen Abstrahieren“ konnte nach Ausschluss problematischer Items Rasch-Modell-Gültigkeit angenommen werden. Für die Untertests „Angewandtes Rechnen“ und „Wortschatz“ zeigten sich im LR-Test für das Teilungskriterium Alter signifikante Abweichungen vom Modell. Der letzte Untertest „Alltagswissen“ kann, wie bereits in der Vorgängerstudie, nicht als Rasch-Modell-konform bezeichnet werden. Hier ist eine Überprüfung und Überarbeitung der itemgenerierenden Regeln anzudenken. Generell legt für Folgeuntersuchungen die Überprüfung der itemgenerierenden Regeln an Hand des LLTM nahe., This diploma thesis represents a continuation of the studies by Böck (2010) and Eiter (2011), who developed new items for selected subtests of the AID 2 using a rule-based approach. Their goal was to develop an item pool for a group or PC version of the AID 2. Their target group consisted of children and adolescents between 8;0 and 15;11 years of age who were tested in four different schools in Upper Austria. While focusing on the same target group, this study doubled the sample to 1400 subjects and re-analyzed the data according to the Rasch-Model using a linked design. The validity of the Rasch-Model has been evaluated through the Likelihood-Ratio Test by Andersen (1973), using the split-criteria score, age and gender. For the subtest "abstracting functionalities" (“Funktionen Abstrahieren”), Rasch-Model validity could be assumed after excluding problematic items. For the subtests "applied mathematics" (Angewandtes Rechnen”) and "vocabulary" (“Wortschatz”), there were significant deviations from the model shown in the LR-test for the split-criterion “age”. The last test, "everyday knowledge" ("Alltagswissen"), can, as in the previous study, not be called Rasch-Model compliant. A review and revision of the rules for item development is necessary. For follow-up studies it is generally suggested to check the rules-generating guidelines using the LLTM (linear logistic test model).
