The use of enzymes in industrial processes is often hampered by their limited stability under operational conditions. As enzymes’ function and stability are directly correlated to their three-dimensional structure, numerous methods aiming at the preservation of this structure have been developed. While stabilization can be achieved using solid scaffolds for encapsulating the enzyme, it often results in loss of enzymatic activity owing to a lack of conformational mobility of the biocatalyst. With the idea of mimicking protein-protein interactions to create a network of weak force interactions between the surface of an immobilized enzyme and a synthetic protective layer, we have developed a chemical strategy allowing the use of complex mixtures of building blocks mimicking the lateral chain of natural amino acids. After crosslinking a model enzyme at the surface of silica nanoparticles, incubation with eight different organosilane mixtures allowed growing protective organosilica layers of controlled thicknesses. The nanoparticles produced were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and their biocatalytic activity was measured under a series of operational stress conditions. Our results clearly demonstrated that increasing the complexity and biomimetic nature of the protection layer allowed for a relevant improvement of the protection effect. Le présent travail propose une évaluation des performances de ponte et de la qualité des oeufs de cailles. Pour cette étude, les oeufs de 200 cailles ont été récoltés toutes les 4 semaines à partir de la 12ème semaine d'âge jusque la 44ème semaine d'âge. In Belgium, as generally in Europe, the dominant position of the high producing commercial strains specialized in meat or eggs production threats of extinction the local traditional breeds. In this work, a follow up of the changes in populations size, and the rates of inbreeding of the Belgian poultry breeds, has been carried out in 2005 and 2010. About forty breeds were concerned. The Belgian hen breeds being overwhelmingly under threat of extinction, because of the low number of individuals by breed. For each of these breeds, various criteria were considered, risk status, breeding male to breeding female ratio, effective population size, effective population size to actual size ratio and rate of inbreeding. En Bélgica, y generalmente en Europa, la posición dominante de estirpes comerciales altamente productivas, especializadas en la producción de carne o huevos, amenaza de extinción a las razas locales tradicionales. Se ha realizado, en 2005 y 2010, un seguimiento de las tasas de consanguinidad de razas de gallinas belgas. Unas cuarenta razas han sido consideradas. Las razas belgas de gallinas se encuentran abrumado-ramente en peligro de extinción a causa del escaso número de individuos en cada raza. Para cada una de las razas fueron considerados varios criterios: estado de riesgo, relación reproductores machos/reproductores hembra, tamaño efectivo de población, relación tamaño efectivo/tamaño actual y tasa de consanguinidad.

L’intérêt premier d’alimenter les truies gestantes avec des rations enrichies en fibres (REF) est de les rassasier sans apport excessif d’énergie. Une teneur en fibres de l’ordre de 15-20% de NDF (Neutral Detergent Fibre) permet ainsi aux truies d’adapter leur consommation à leurs besoins, ce qui permet d’envisager une distribution à volonté des aliments, technique qui réduit notablement le coût de l’équipement d’alimentation. L’effet des fibres sur la sensation de satiété est notamment attribuable aux plus grandes quantités consommées, à l’augmentation du temps consacré à l’ingestion et à un ralentissement de la vidange gastrique. L’amélioration du niveau de bien-être des truies résultant du rassasiement se traduit par une réduction de la fréquence des stéréotypies et des agressions. L’inconvénient d’une distribution de REF tient à une diminution, cependant limitée, de la digestibilité de l’énergie associée à une accélération du transit intestinal, une production accrue de méthane lors des fermentations et une diminution de l’accessibilité des enzymes digestives et microbiennes aux composants cellulaires. La valorisation de l’énergie provenant des fibres chez la truie est cependant meilleure que chez le porc en croissance. Pour autant que les apports alimentaires tiennent compte de la réduction de la digestibilité de l’énergie, les performances de reproduction des truies ne sont pas affectées. Au contraire, le développement du volume du tube digestif induit par les REF en cours de gestation permet une augmentation de l’ingestion en début de lactation, favorisant ainsi la production laitière et limitant la mobilisation des réserves corporelles.
