State mandates imposed by governors during COVID-19 affected extracurricular activities for children and youth. To continue providing 4-H programming during quarantine, Clemson Extension 4-H Youth Development Agents created the SC 4-H@Home program. Daily activities were developed that could be completed at-home using common household items and were delivered via email to registered participants. A survey was conducted at the conclusion of the program that included open- and closed-ended questions to gauge the effectiveness of the program. Results indicate that, overall, the SC 4-H@Home program was beneficial to youth and contributed to their education during the COVID-19 crisis.

In 2015 the Utah State Legislature passed H.B. 213, "Safe Technology Utilization and Digital Citizenship in Public Schools," mandating that K-12 schools provide digital citizenship instruction. This study presents an exploratory endeavor to understand how school librarians in a state that adopted digital citizenship legislation engage with digital citizenship instruction and their perceptions of a school librarian's role in providing this instruction. We conducted a statewide survey of Utah school librarians, including questions focusing on digital citizenship resources used, current instruction within the school, and inquiries about improvements to current instruction. School librarians expressed a desire to be more involved in the instruction process, the need for more time, and the desire for consistent collaboration with teachers and administration.

During the 2020 spring semester, as COVID-19 infection rates increased, universities and colleges closed campuses and moved courses online. All of these responses occurred as the Center for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and other national and global health organizations attempted to understand this new and deadly illness. Library and Information Science (LIS) schools were, in particular, ready for this unexpected education shift with their long history of online learning and online engagement. This article is both a reflection on and analysis of the teaching experiences of the author during this period of crisis.

This study facilitates understanding of college students' current and previous experiences with cyberbullying and negative social media experiences using an exploratory, qualitative design. Participants were 16 undergraduate freshman or sophomores (9 women, 7 men) at a medium-sized, United States university. A 13 question, semi-structured interview probed participants' past and present experiences with cyberbullying. Iterative, thematic analysis was used to analyze data. Codes were clustered together based on similarity, then grouped into hierarchical themes. First, participants considered cyberbullying to be a "grey area," and their definitions of cyberbullying varied considerably. Almost all participants indicated that they experienced and witnessed the "most cyberbullying during adolescence." Third, participants mentioned "screens and fake personas" as mechanisms through which aggressors could distance themselves from victims, empowering individuals to disengage from the harm they were causing. Last, participants described a lack of "education and knowledge about cyberbullying resources." Results have policy implications including the need to educate young people about cyberbullying, and, importantly, how to report cyberbully attacks.

Makerspaces are now a common feature in many public libraries in the United States. However, there has been little research into how these spaces function for adults with disabilities. In this study, qualitative data were collected from patrons with disabilities and public librarians through online focus groups, interviews, and an online survey to address this gap in knowledge. Findings speak to the needs of a significant subset of public library patrons, describe current practices in public library makerspaces, and suggest areas for implementing more inclusive practices. Leadership is an often-misunderstood word, especially in the context of libraries. With multiple definitions for the word "leadership" and vast numbers of leadership styles, it can be difficult to identity what exactly is meant when discussing library leadership. This literature review brings together 10 years of scholarly research on leadership in the library as it relates to LIS education. Through a close evaluation of this literature, a more holistic understanding of "leadership" as a concept in LIS education can be better understood. Several topics are highlighted and discussed including the ambiguity in definitions of "leadership", the qualities of library leaders, leadership in LIS curriculum, library leadership and organization change, and library leadership and new librarians. For this review, the definition of LIS curriculum includes professional association leadership programs. Closing this literature review are recommendations for incorporating leadership education and mentorship opportunities into MLIS programs.

Within a number of fields, research on mental health support available for graduate students is scant. Research on mental health support among online students is even more limited. Mental health within library and information science (LIS) has been discussed largely outside of the scholarly realm via webinars, mental health zines, and Twitter chats. As the majority of students pursuing a master's degree in LIS (MLIS) go through online programs, student awareness of and access to mental health support through their university is unknown. Through content analysis, this original study explores the online resources for mental health counseling and support readily available for MLIS students in American Library Association–accredited programs. In this article, we describe a conceptual framework, called the Innovative Library Activities Framework, which helps clarify the influence of three dimensions of librarianship--sense of librarianship, resource community, and conception of library space--on the implementation of innovative library activities. The first dimension encompasses a librarian's professional identity and his/her understanding of the profession. The second dimension addresses how a librarian seeks guidance and support from a resource community for development and implementation of library services and materials. The final dimension involves a librarian's conception of the library space and place. Each dimension is closely examined, drawing evidence from data collected during observations of and interviews with participating school librarians. Librarians are beginning to address the lack of services for youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by providing flexible and tailored programming and services. One important need among youth with ASD is a better understanding of how to navigate the online environment safely and responsibly. Given different engagement styles with social interaction and communication, youth with ASD may be more susceptible to cyberbullying and misinterpretations during online communications than their peers. This study investigates whether librarians can (or should) play a role in digital citizenship education for youth with ASD and provides suggestions for LIS educators preparing future librarians on how to develop services and programming for neurodiverse youth.
