Since its foundation until the present, the Misericórdias have occupied preexisting buildings to ensure the fulfillment of their assistance activity, to organize their daily life and to celebrate the mass. It is in this context that in 1768 the Misericórdia of Lisbon installed itself in the professed house in Lisbon – the Professed House of São Roque.This paper seeks to deepen the context of the occupation of the professed house and simultaneously reflect on the relationship that the Misericórdias established with architecture and with the built space, which since the beginning of its foundation has always been particular and determinant. The process will be analyzed considering the donation of the building from São Roque to the Misericórdia, but also other donations made to the same institution, as the College of Santo Antão for the installation of the All-Saints Royal Hospital and the assets of the extinct brotherhoods installed in the professed house, and it will be highlighted how all these donations contributed to consolidate the position of the Misericórdia, reinforcing its material and financial conditions for a more convenient pursuit of its assistance objectives. Desde a sua fundação até ao presente, as Misericórdias ocuparam edifícios preexistentes como forma de assegurarem o cumprimento da sua atividade assistencial, organizarem o quotidiano assistencial e celebrarem as missas de obrigação. É neste contexto que em 1768 a Misericórdia de Lisboa se instala na casa professa dos Jesuítas em Lisboa –a Casa Professa de São Roque. O presente texto procura aprofundar o contexto da ocupação da casa professa de Lisboa e simultaneamente refletir sobre a relação que as Misericórdias estabeleceram com a arquitetura e com o espaço edificado, que desde o início da sua fundação sempre se mostrou particular e determinante. Analisar-se-á o processo considerando a doação do edifício de São Roque à Misericórdia, mas também outras doações realizadas à mesma instituição, como a do Colégio de Santo Antão para a instalação do Hospital Real de Todosos-Santos e a dos bens das extintas confrarias instaladas na casa professa, e destacar-se-á como todas estas doações concorreram para consolidar a posição da Misericórdia, reforçando as suas condições materiais e financeiras para uma mais conveniente prossecução dos seus objetivos assistenciais

Exame público realizado em 19 de dezembro de 2022, às 13:00 Dissertação de mestrado em Psicologia Clínica O presente estudo pretende compreender o efeito do temperamento no ajustamento socioemocional numa amostra de crianças portuguesas institucionalizadas e não institucionalizadas. Neste estudo, participaram 92 crianças com idades compreendidas entre os 6 e os 10 anos (45 institucionalizadas e 47 não institucionalizadas). Procedeu-se a uma caraterização sociodemográfica da população através da aplicação de um Questionário Sociodemográfico e recorreu-se à aplicação dos seguintes instrumentos: School-Age Temperament Inventory (SATI) e o Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) os quais foram preenchidos pelos cuidadores principais das crianças institucionalizadas e pelos professores das crianças não institucionalizadas. Foi realizada uma regressão linear múltipla com vista a analisar o efeito do temperamento no ajustamento socioemocional. Foram analisadas as diferenças entre os dois grupos, e foi realizada uma outra análise de diferenças em função do género, mas dentro do mesmo grupo. No que respeita às diferenças entre os dois grupos, verificaram-se diferenças estatisticamente significativas ao nível da Atividade, sendo que as crianças institucionalizadas pontuaram níveis significativamente superiores em relação às crianças não institucionalizadas. Os grupos foram considerados separadamente em função do género. No grupo das crianças institucionalizadas, os rapazes apresentaram níveis significativamente superiores comparativamente com as raparigas na dimensão da Atividade. Por seu turno, no grupo das crianças não institucionalizadas, verificam-se diferenças estatisticamente significativas ao nível da dimensão da Reatividade e da Atividade. Adicionalmente, os nossos resultados mostram que o Temperamento não é um preditor significativo do Ajustamento Socioemocional em crianças institucionalizadas e não institucionalizadas. O presente estudo contribuiu para a literatura científica que defende um investimento em intervenções individualizadas tendo em conta o perfil de temperamento de crianças institucionalizadas. The present study aims to understand the effect of temperament on socio-emotional adjustment in a sample of institutionalized and non-institutionalized Portuguese children. Ninety-two children, aged between 6 and 10 years, were enrolled in this study (45 institutionalized and 47 non-institutionalized). A sociodemographic questionnaire was used to characterize the participants. The following questionnaires were used: the School-Age Temperament Inventory (SATI) and the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) which were completed by the primary caregivers of institutionalized children and by teachers of non-institutionalized children. A multiple linear regression was performed to analyze the effect of temperament on socio-emotional adjustment. Differences between the two groups were analyzed, and another analysis of differences by gender was performed, but within the same group. Comparing the differences between the two groups, there were statistically significant differences in terms of Activity, with institutionalized children scoring significantly higher than non-institutionalized children. The groups were considered separately according to gender. In the group of institutionalized children, boys showed significantly higher levels compared to girls in the Activity dimension. In turn, in the group of non-institutionalized children, there are statistically significant differences in terms of the dimension of Reactivity and Activity. Additionally, our results show that Temperament is not a significant predictor of Socioemotional Adjustment in institutionalized and non-institutionalized children. This study contributes to the scientific literature that support individualized interventions, in particular considering the temperament characteristics of institutionalized children.

Mestrado Bolonha em Actuarial Science This report was done during an internship in the Willis Towers Watson Lisbon office, where I had the opportunity to perform various actuarial valuations of UK pension schemes. Roughly speaking, an actuarial valuation assesses if the scheme has enough assets to cover its liabilities. In particular, a solvency valuation assumes the closure of the scheme and allows us to calculate the price charged by an insurance company to assume the responsibility of paying all the benefits accrued to that date. To perform these valuations, some important decisions must be made, such as establishing the economic and demographic assumptions that best represent reality. By law, the actuarial report of a pension scheme must provide an estimate of its solvency on the date of valuation. Such estimate is naturally calculated in the context of a solvency valuation, and it is an important topic. This was the source of motivation for our work, in particular the idea of testing the impact of changes in the chosen assumptions by performing sensitivity analysis. Furthermore, by calculating the ratio between the amount of the scheme’s assets and the value of calculated liabilities, we obtain the solvency level. In this report we will use this measure to evaluate the scheme’s economic position on solvency risk and we will provide some investment advice, according to the level found in the different scenarios produced. Because of confidentiality requirements, a dummy client was used to help us in the analysis performed. Este relatório foi elaborado durante um estágio no escritório de Lisboa da Willis Towers Watson, onde eu tive a oportunidade de realizar várias avaliações atuariais em esquemas de pensões do Reino Unido. De grosso modo, uma avaliação atuarial estima se um esquema tem ativos suficientes para cobrir o valor dos seus passivos. Em particular, uma avaliação de solvência pressupõe o encerramento do esquema e permite-nos calcular o preço cobrado por uma seguradora para assumir a responsabilidade de pagar todos os benefícios acumulados até essa data. Para realizar estas avaliações, algumas decisões importantes devem ser tomadas, tais como estabelecer pressupostos económicos e demográficos que melhor representem a realidade. Por lei, o relatório atuarial de um esquema de pensões deve providenciar uma estimativa da sua solvência na data de avaliação. Essa estimativa é naturalmente calculada no contexto de uma avaliação de solvência e é um tópico importante. Esta foi a fonte de motivação para o nosso trabalho, em particular a ideia de testar o impacto das alterações nos pressupostos escolhidos através da realização de análises de sensibilidade. Além disso, calculando o quociente entre o valor dos ativos do esquema e o valor dos passivos estimados, obtém-se o nível de solvência. Neste relatório usaremos esta medida para avaliar a posição económica do esquema quanto ao risco de solvência e daremos algumas recomendações de investimento, de acordo com o nível encontrado nos diferentes cenários produzidos.
