Este artigo busca pensar a língua de forma descentralizada, como lugar desconstrutor de linguagens e da colonialidade, a partir de tensionamentos entre a arte contemporânea, as linguagens digitais e as redes sociais no contexto da cultura do compartilhamento da década de 2010 a 2020. Para isso, propõe articulações críticas entre a abordagem das extremidades, de Christine Mello, o conceito de encruzilhada, de Leda Maria Martins, e a perspectiva de margem, de bell hooks, dentre outros autores. O objetivo é compreender a presença de biarritzzz, artista brasileira (Fortaleza, CE, 1994), por meio da leitura de alguns trabalhos no formato GIF, compartilhados por ela em seu perfil no Instagram. Em @biarritizzz, buscaremos observar certas extremidades com as quais a língua, a arte contemporânea e as redes sociais ressignificam a atualidade.

Satellite Altimetry is one of the main techniques for observing the oceans on a global scale and has contributed to the knowledge of the Mean Sea Level (MSL) and its variations. The main measurement of altimetric satellites is the distance between the satellite and the ocean surface (Range), which is incorrect owing to errors caused by the interaction of the signal with the atmosphere and the sea surface, requiring corrections to account for these effects. The troposphere is responsible for most of these errors, caused by its dry and wet components. The Dry Tropospheric Correction (DTC) is mainly due to atmospheric gases and pressure, being already well established and modeled with high accuracy. Oppositely, the Wet Tropospheric Correction (WTC), caused mainly due to the water vapor present in the troposphere, is much more variable in space and time than the DTC, therefore, more difficult to model. The altimetric satellites are equipped with instruments called Microwave Radiometers (MWR), which measure the amount of water vapour under the satellite path, providing information for the estimation of the WTC. The MWR works well in the open ocean, the surface for which the instrument has been designed, and for which the retrieval algorithms are often tuned, but it fails in coastal zones and inland waters, due to the presence of land in the MWR footprint, and also in areas where ocean ice and heavy rain occur. In view to recover the WTC in these regions, the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) derived Path Delay Plus (GPD+) method, developed by the University of Porto, uses Zenith Tropospheric Delays (ZTD) from GNSS global and regional networks’ stations combined with other sources of information, such as valid on-board MWR measurements, Scanning Image Microwave Radiometers (SI-MWR) and Numeric Weather Models (NWM) from the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), to estimate this correction with high accuracy all over the planet. The International GNSS Service (IGS) network, used by GPD+, has GNSS stations spread across the globe, but the coverage is not dense enough, with regions where there are few or no stations. Regional networks are used in order to increase the number of stations and the amount of information. GPD+ currently uses the regional networks EUREF Permanent Network (EPN) and SuomiNet, both located in the northern hemisphere. In order to densify the existing GNSS dataset used in GPD+, it is necessary to add new stations, mainly in the southern hemisphere, in regions such as South America, Africa and Oceania. This work aims to exploit the Latin America and Caribbean SIRGAS-CON network and its potential for densification of the GPD+ input dataset in this region. The accuracy and stability of the WTC derived from SIRGAS-CON ZTD were analyzed, by comparison with WTC from IGS ZTD and ERA5 NWM, and the stations that meet GPD+ requirements were selected for the WTC computation by the algorithm. The WTC computed by GPD+ with and without data from SIRGAS-CON stations were compared with the GNSS-derived WTC, by means of a non-independent and non-collocated comparison at altimetry points from CryoSat-2, Sentinel-3A and Sentinel-3B, in the Latin America and Caribbean regions. The results show that the RMS of the WTC differences for the solution with SIRGAS-CON stations is lower than the solution without SIRGAS-CON stations, for the three satellites, mainly in coastal zones, reaching up 2 mm, which indicates an improvement in the algorithm performance after the addition of the new network. An independent evaluation with data from radiosondes is currently in progress. It is expected that the results of this second evaluation are in line with the results obtained so far, confirming the positive impact of the SIRGAS-CON ZTD in the estimations of the GPD+ WTC in the densified regions.

Objetivos: Avaliar a prevalência da hipertensão arterial (HTA) na população portuguesa em contexto de férias, assim como estudar a relação dos valores tensionais com fatores de risco através do método HJ-Biplot. Tipo de estudo: Observacional, descritivo, do tipo transversal, com uma amostra não probabilística (por conveniência). Local: Vilamoura. População: Amostra de ambos os sexos com idade igual ou superior a 18 anos. Métodos: A avaliação das pressões arteriais (PA) foi realizada em Vilamoura, de 30 de julho a 5 agosto de 2017, em dois locais distintos: Praia da Falésia e Marina de Vilamoura. Foram avaliadas cerca de 1.000 pessoas, provenientes de diferentes regiões do país. A medição da PA, em mmHg, foi realizada segundo os procedimentos das Guidelines for the Management of Arterial Hypertension. Foi considerada hipertensão arterial (HTA) se pressão arterial sistólica (PAS) ≥ 140mmHg e/ou pressão arterial diastólica (PAD) ≥ 90mm e/ou a fazer medicação anti-hipertensiva (das diferentes classes de anti-hipertensores). Foi aplicado um questionário em suporte informático com o objetivo de recolher parâmetros antropométricos, patologias associadas e hábitos e estilos de vida. Foi garantida a proteção e confidencialidade dos dados pessoais e de saúde. Resultados: Os resultados mostraram que 33,3% da população estudada tinha HTA. De entre os indivíduos com HTA, 80,4% tinha conhecimento da sua situação de saúde e encontravam-se sob terapêutica médica anti-hipertensora, dos quais 68,6% apresentavam valores normais de TA. As diferenças observadas entre sexos e entre grupos etários na prevalência de HTA mostraram valores mais elevados no sexo masculino (M: 43,0% e F: 26,0%) e na faixa etária > 65 anos (76,2%). A interpretação multivariada (HJ-Biplot) permitiu reforçar o aumento da prevalência da HTA com alguns fatores de risco, nomeadamente o sexo, a idade, o Índice de Massa Corporal, comorbilidades (principalmente diabetes e dislipidemia) e estilo de vida, nomeadamente a atividade física e os hábitos tabágicos. Conclusões: Os resultados do presente estudo sugerem, em comparação com outros estudos na população portuguesa e mundial, a existência de uma evolução positiva na redução da prevalência de HTA, acompanhada por um aumento do seu controlo, embora existam diferenças entre subgrupos populacionais, com fatores de risco inerentes. Purpose: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the prevalence of hypertension among the Portuguese population in a holiday context, as well as the relationship between blood pressure (BP) and risk factors, through the HJ-Biplot method. Type of study: Observational, descriptive, transversal-type, with a non-probabilistic sample (convenience). Local: Vilamoura. Population: Sample of both genders (≥ 18 years old). Methods: BP was measured in Vilamoura, from 30th July to 5th August 2017, in two distinct places: Praia da Falésia and Marina de Vilamoura. Around 1,000 people were evaluated, from different regions of the country (Portugal). BP measures, in mmHg, followed the protocol from Guidelines for the Management of Arterial Hypertension. Hypertension was defined as mean systolic BP (SBP) ≥ 140mmHg and/or diastolic BP (DBP) ≥ 90mmHg and/or use of antihypertensive medication if hypertension was known. A questionnaire was applied in informatic support with anthropometric parameters, associated pathologies, habits and life Styles. Protection and confidentiality of personal data were guaranteed. Results: The prevalence of hypertension was 33.3% of the studied population. Of those, 80.4% were aware of their health state and they were under antihypertensive therapeutic care, with 68.6% of those showing normal values for BP. There was a difference in the prevalence of hypertension according to gender and age, with males showing the highest values (M: 43.0% and F: 26.0%) as well as > 65-years-old people (76.2%). Multivariate analysis (HJ-Biplot) has allowed relating the increased prevalence of hypertension with some risk factors, mainly sex, age, body mass index (BMI), lifestyle (such as smoking habits and physical activity) or disease (such as diabetes or dyslipidemia). Conclusion: The results from the present study suggest, in comparison with other studies from Portuguese and world-wide population, the existence of a positive evolution towards reduction of the prevalence of hypertension, following an increased control, despite differences between populational subgroups, with inherent risk factors.

Análisis de la experiencia del video en Brasil en el período comprendido entre los años 1950 y 1980 como una estrategia de pluralismo, hibridación cultural y apertura de nuevos circuitos para el arte. Esa forma de percepción es observada a partir de un conjunto de prácticas discursivas heterogéneas y no-hegemónicas existentes en el ambiente creativo brasileño durante ese período. El abordaje teórico da énfasis a las tendencias que acompañan el contexto de la producción artística brasileña en sus transiciones del modernismo a la contemporaneidad, así como a movimientos como la antropofagia, el tropicalismo, el conceptualismo y el video independiente. El vídeo como práctica de arte en Brasil tiene origen en 1956 por cuenta de la intervención y performance del artista Flávio de Carvalho en la televisión brasileña. A partir de prácticas precursoras como esa, el presente articulo promueve un análisis sobre la escena experimental en medios electrónicos en Brasil. La visión del hibridismo es aquí utilizada tanto en el sentido de procesamiento cultural como en el de las acciones limítrofes del video en sinergia con el sistema del arte. Es de esa manera que el video, un arte híbrido y en constante diálogo con los otros medios, manifiesta sus primeras iniciativas en Brasil en torno de un pensamiento contemporáneo. RESUMO: Análise da experiência do vídeo no Brasil no período compreendido entre os anos 1950 e 1980, como uma estratégia de pluralismo, hibridização cultural e abertura de novos circuitos para a arte. Essa forma de percepção é observada a partir de um conjunto de práticas discursivas heterogêneas e não-hegemônicas existentes no ambiente criativo brasileiro durante esse período. A abordagem teórica dá ênfase às tendências que acompanham o contexto da produção artística brasileira em suas passagens do modernismo para a contemporaneidade, assim como a movimentos como a antropofagia, o tropicalismo, o conceitualismo e o vídeo independente. O vídeo como prática de arte no Brasil tem origem em 1956, por conta da intervenção e performance do artista Flávio de Carvalho na televisão brasileira. A partir de práticas precursoras como essa, o presente artigo promove um levantamento sobre a cena experimental em meios eletrônicos no Brasil. A visão do hibridismo é aqui utilizada tanto no sentido de processamento cultural quanto das ações limítrofes do vídeo em sinergia com o sistema da arte. É dessa forma que o vídeo, uma arte híbrida e de constante diálogo com os outros meios, manifesta suas primeiras iniciativas no Brasil em torno de um pensamento contemporâneo. ABSTRACT: Analysis of the experience of video in Brazil during the period between 1950 and 1980, as a pluralism strategy , cultural hybridization and opening of new circuits for art. During this period, this form of perception was observed from a group of heterogeneous and non-hegemonic discursive practices existent in the Brazilian creative atmosphere.The theoretical approach gives emphasis to the tendencies that accompany the context of the Brazilian artistic production in it´s passages from modernism to contemporaneity, as well as movements such as anthropophagy, tropicalismo, conceptualism and independent video. The practice of video art in Brazil has its origin in 1956, due to the intervention and performance of the artist Flávio de Carvalho on Brazilian television. Based on precursory practices, this article promotes a survey on the experimental scene in electronic means in Brazil. The vision of hybridism is used here for cultural processing as well as for conterminal actions of video in synergy with the system of art. It is in this way that video, a hybrid art and with constant dialogue with other means, manifests it´s first initiatives in Brazil around a contemporary thought.

A dissertação visa avaliar a relevância e o desempenho dos dados obtidos por Veículos Aéreos Não Tripulados (VANT) na atualização de Geoinformação. Os dados obtidos por VANT serão utilizados quer em conjunto com outros dados – obtidos por plataformas tradicionais de deteção remota –, quer isoladamente, recorrendo à técnica de Structure from Motion (SfM), para gerar o modelo digital de superfície e os ortomosaicos de alta precisão em diferentes momentos. Para a avaliação da precisão dos dados, os modelos digitais de terreno serão comparados. Por outro lado, os dados e informação gerados permitirão atualizar Geoinformação e quantificar as mudanças ocorridas no uso e ocupação do solo. Os resultados irão alimentar a discussão crítica da ação antrópica nos aglomerados urbanos e as propostas de intervenção. The dissertation aims to assess the relevance and performance of data obtained by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in updating Geoinformation. The data obtained by UAVs will be used either in conjunction with other data – obtained by traditional remote sensing platforms – or on its own, using the Structure from Motion (SfM) technique, to generate high-precision digital surface models and orthomosaics at different times. For the accuracy assessment of the data, the digital terrain models will be compared. On the other hand, the data and information generated will make it possible to update Geoinformation and quantify changes in land use and occupation. The results will feed the critical discussion of anthropic action in urban areas and intervention proposals.

Esta dissertação se propõe a investigar as experimentações narrativas e estruturais de desconstrução e descontinuidade da narrativa cinematográfica observadas em A Idade da Terra (1980), último filme do diretor de cinema Glauber Rocha, a partir do conceito de database narrative proposto por Marsha Kinder (2002, 2003). Kinder funda o conceito na convergência entre o cinema e as mídias digitais, a partir da dicotomia narrativa e database (base de dados) proposta por Manovich (2005), relacionadas respectivamente ao cinema e ao computador, como formas simbólicas opostas de organização do mundo e, portanto, de criação de sentido. As chamadas database narratives (narrativas de base de dados) têm a particularidade potencialmente subversiva de expor a arbitrariedade dos processos de seleção e combinação de seus elementos constituintes, revelando os próprios mecanismos discursivos que organizam todas as narrativas. Assenta-se a base ideológica do cinema de Glauber Rocha em um programa de construção de uma linguagem nova, inspirada nos mecanismos do inconsciente, para um cinema nacional brasileiro que seja anticolonial e em direção à uma liberdade de expressão estética, técnica e econômica. A análise encontra em A Idade da Terra o potencial subversivo da database narrative, revelando as características digitais latentes dos mecanismos narrativos do cinema exploradas de forma visionária por Glauber Rocha This dissertation proposes to investigate the narrative and structural experiments of deconstruction and discontinuity observed in the filmic narrative of The Age of the Earth (1980), the last film by director Glauber Rocha, as a database narrative, a concept proposed by Marsha Kinder (2002, 2003). Kinder established the concept in the convergence between cinema and new digital media, expanding on the dichotomy narrative and database proposed by Lev Manovich (2005), respectively related to cinema and the computer, as opposing symbolic forms of organizing the world and creating meaning. Database narratives have a subversive potential as they expose the arbitrary processes of selection and combination of the elements by which theyre composed, revealing the same discursive mechanisms that organize all narratives. It settles the ideological foundation of Glauber Rochas cinema in a program to create a new brazilian cinema that is anticolonial and directed to a aesthetic, technic and economic freedom of expression. The analysis finds in The Age of the Earth the subversive potential of database narratives, revealing the digital qualities latent in the narrative mechanisms of cinema visionarily explored by Glauber Rocha.

CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo conhecer as linguagens presentes na plataforma de sociabilidade Instagram que, acreditamos, podem distingui-lo dos demais meios comunicacionais. A investigação se ancora nas hipóteses de que as funcionalidades da plataforma podem contribuir para a formação de uma linguagem própria do Instagram; e que seus próprios usuários também colaboram no processo de formação de linguagens, a partir de suas apropriações e usos da plataforma. Iniciamos nosso caminho teórico com a compreensão do contexto midiático no qual a pesquisa está inserida, ancoradas em uma abordagem ecológica das mídias em que elementos humanos e não-humanos habitam esse ambiente e, assim, colaboram entre si. Em um segundo momento, nos aprofundamos na investigação sobre o Instagram, considerando sua própria estrutura sociotécnica como um possível estímulo ao processo de formação de linguagens; e avaliamos como a remediação e a mediação radical podem estar relacionadas, também, a tal processo de formação de linguagens. Em sequência, voltamos nosso olhar ao próprio usuário do Instagram, buscando identificar as linguagens mobilizadas por eles. Tomamos como objeto o perfil @bonitadepele, descrito como veículo de beleza e autointitulado uma comunidade virtual. Para conhecer as dinâmicas comunicacionais do perfil e entendermos de que modo a Bonita de Pele se apropria do Instagram, fazemos um estudo de caso e recorremos à abordagem das extremidades, que sugere um viés de leitura que nos possibilita um olhar crítico do perfil e, consequentemente, da própria plataforma. Assim, buscamos identificar os movimentos de desconstrução, contaminação e compartilhamento que, acreditamos, podem estar relacionados aos processos formativos de linguagens no Instagram. Ao final de nossa investigação, concluímos que as hipóteses não se sustentam. O Instagram pode ser entendido como um meio radicalmente mediado, que remedia e media radicalmente as propriedades de seus concorrentes. E os usuários, por sua vez, se valem dessas características para produzirem seus conteúdos, que igualmente são baseados nas funcionalidades e possibilidades que a plataforma oferece. Não há, assim, uma linguagem específica, própria do Instagram. Por outro lado, identificamos, sim, singularidades na plataforma: suas linguagens radicalmente remediadas, que possibilitam a formação das comunidades virtuais. Comunidades estas que podem ser entendidas também como elementos emergentes do Instagram, onde há o estímulo para conexão através da produção de conteúdo e troca de mensagens utilizando tais linguagens radicalmente remediadas. Finalmente, concluímos: não são linguagens o elemento específico emergente do Instagram, mas sim a ressignificação e a reconfiguração de linguagens em comunidades virtuais, o que leva à conexão. This research aims to know the languages of the social network platform Instagram that, we believe, can distinguish it from other communication media. The investigation is anchored in the hypotheses that the platform's features can contribute to Instagram's creates it’s own language; and that it’s own users also collaborate in the language formation process, based on their appropriations and uses of the platform. The investigation is based on the hypothesis that the platform's features can contribute to the formation of Instagram's own language; and that its own users also collaborate in the language formation process, based on their appropriations and uses of the platform. We started our theoretical path with the understanding of the media context in which the research is inserted, anchored in an ecological approach to the media in which human and non-human elements inhabit this environment and, thus, collaborate with each other. In a second moment, we delve deeper into the investigation of Instagram, considering its own socio-technical structure as a possible stimulus to the process of language formation; and we assess how remediation and radical mediation may be related, too, to such process. In sequence, we turn our gaze to the Instagram user himself, seeking to identify the languages mobilized by them. We took as object the profile @bonitadepele, described as a vehicle of beauty and selftitled a virtual community. In order to know the communicational dynamics of the profile and understand how Bonita de Pele appropriates Instagram, we make a case study and resort to the approach of the extremities (abordagem das extremidades), which suggests a reading bias that allows us to take a critical look at the profile and, consequently, from the platform itself. Thus, we seek to identify the movements of deconstruction, contamination and sharing that, we believe, may be related to the formative processes of languages on Instagram. At the end of our investigation, we concluded that the hypotheses can’t be standed. Instagram can be understood as a radically mediated medium, which radically remediates and mediates the properties of its competitors. And users, in turn, make use of these features to produce their content, which is also based on the features and possibilities that the platform offers. Thus, there is no singular language, specific to Instagram There is, therefore, no specific language, specific to Instagram. On the other hand, we did identify singularities in the platform: its radically remedied languages, which enable the formation of virtual communities. These communities can also be understood as emerging elements of Instagram, where there is a stimulus for connection through the production of content and exchange of messages using such radically remedied languages. Finally, we conclude: the specific emerging element of Instagram is not the languages, but the resignification and reconfiguration of languages in virtual communities, which leads to connection.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES This research on sound and visual poetics consists of an investigation on artistic communicational practices of an activist character. First, with experiments in 2019, through diversified strategies and proposals for different interlocutors, in different spaces in the city of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul – streets, museums, art galleries, university, school, social networks, radio wave space. Subsequently, as a result of the world scenario presented from 2020, with the SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic, which causes the New Coronavirus disease, the COVID-19, the poetic undergoes significant transformations. In addition to the artistic and communicational strategies undergoing changes in approach, the space in Santa Maria moves to the Clube Naturista Colina do Sol (CNCS), located in the municipality of Taquara, also in Rio Grande do Sul – an naturist place not urbanized and immersed with the wild environment the least interfered by human action. To approach the construction of this research, studies on methodology by the researcher and artist Sandra Rey (1953) are used. As a theoretical foundation, reference is made to the idea of micropolitics, a concept that refers to philosophers Michel Foucault (1926-1984) and Gilles Deleuze (1925-1995) and to art critic Suely Rolnik (1948), especially with regard to bias of everyday life in the context of the research. Activist artistic practices, on the other hand, are based on the experiences of Brazilian collectives from the 1990’s to today, as seen from the perspective of historiography from the 1950’s onwards, with Italian autonomist philosophers such as Giorgio Agamben (1942) and Franco Berardi (1949). To support the notion of Art and Communication, authors such as Mario Costa (1936), Fred Forest (1933), Christine Mello and Giselle Beiguelman are based on. The concept of device, on the other hand, emerges from theoretical research and mediates artistic practices, having as reference Agamben, Foucault, Vilém Flusser (1920-1991) and Gilbert Simondon (1924-1989). In short, this master's research involves from performances, through installations, audio, video and face-to-face interactivity experiments or via virtual networks, in search of a visibility of everyday micropolitics, with their memories, affections, formalized impulses of life or ephemeral in moments of encounters. Esta pesquisa de poéticas sonoras e visuais consiste em uma investigação sobre práticas artísticas comunicacionais de caráter ativista. Primeiramente, com experimentações no ano de 2019, através de estratégias diversificadas e propostas para diferentes interlocutores, em diversos espaços da cidade de Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul – ruas, museus, galerias de arte, universidade, escola, redes sociais, espaço de ondas radiofônicas. Posteriormente, em decorrência do cenário mundial apresentado a partir de 2020, com a pandemia do vírus SARS-CoV-2, que causa a doença do Novo Coronavírus, a COVID-19, a poética sofre transformações significativas. Além das estratégias artísticas e comunicacionais passarem por mudanças de abordagem, o espaço anteriormente escolhido para a pesquisa – Santa Maria – desloca-se para o Clube Naturista Colina do Sol (CNCS), localizado no município de Taquara, também no Rio Grande do Sul. Ou seja, um lugar não urbanizado e de imersão com o ambiente silvestre o menos interferido pela ação humana. Para abordar a construção dessa pesquisa, são utilizados os estudos sobre metodologia da pesquisadora e artista Sandra Rey (1953). Como fundamentação teórica, faz-se referência à ideia de micropolítica, conceito que remete aos filósofos Michel Foucault (1926-1984) e Gilles Deleuze (1925-1995) e à crítica de arte Suely Rolnik (1948), sobretudo no que concerne o viés de cotidiano no contexto da pesquisa. Já as práticas artísticas ativistas são pautadas a partir de experiências de coletivos brasileiros dos anos 1990 para os dias de hoje, tal como são vistas sob olhar da historiografia a partir da década de 1950, com os filósofos autonomistas italianos como Giorgio Agamben (1942) e Franco Berardi (1949). Em suma, esta pesquisa de mestrado envolve desde performances, passando pelas instalações, pelos experimentos de áudio, vídeo e de interatividade presencial ou via redes virtuais, em busca de uma visibilidade das micropolíticas cotidianas, com suas memórias, afetos, impulsos de vida formalizados ou efêmeros em instantes de encontros.

Enquanto a investigação de diferentes materiais sonoros procurou aquele que melhor expressasse as características plásticas dos registros, foi realizado o mapeamento das manchas e respingos de tinta e da repetição do gesto - características comuns a todos os registros - para alimentar um sistema sonoro de síntese evolutiva. Na presente dissertação, trazemos as averiguações de possíveis maneiras de se trabalhar com a mídia nativa dos computadores para realizar um tipo especifico de comunicação artística, aquela que fazemos com o cinema e o qual temos chamado de documentário. Em conjunto, propomos um breve estudo da linguagem das mídias computacionais, ao apontar possibilidades informativas e estéticas nascidas através da utilização consciente dos seus elementos estruturais. Isto é, esperamos demarcar, como esse meio, enquanto suporte, estrutura suas representações e também como ele oferece um rico ofertório de ferramentas para a comunicação humana. Com este intuito, tomando principalmente os textos teóricos de Bill Nichols, Henri Gervaiseau, Ismail Xavier, Iuri Lotman, Almir Almas e Lev Manovich, abarcamos três grandes campos de estudo: o cinema documentário, a semiótica e as mídias computacionais. Desta última, o grande foco da nossa investigação, destacaremos seus princípios gerais, sua estrutura representativa e sua capacidade inovadora de armazenar representações de espaços navegáveis. Da semiótica, o interesse será retirar os conceitos sobre linguagem e sobre comunicação artística. Enquanto que o documentário nos servirá, com sua linha histórica e sua construção discursiva, como base comparativa. Por fim, para além de ser uma demarcação das possibilidades artísticas da linguagem das mídias computacionais, este texto também se propõe a construir uma breve reflexão sobre sistema carcerário. As obras Prison Valey (Philippe Brault e David Dufresne, web-site, 2009) e Step to the Line (Ricardo Laganaro, Realidade Virtual/360°, 2017), os trabalhos que tomamos como objetos de estudo, dialogam entre si nesse tema. Assim, munidos das teorias das disciplinas referidas, esta dissertação se propõe a analisar ambas as obras, apresentando, em conjunto, exemplos de como um documentarista pode, de acordo com o interesse de sua discussão, utilizar a mídia computacional para organizar signos e também para organizar, como signos, as suas regras inerentes. In this present essay, we inquire possible ways of working with computer native media in order to approach a specific type of artistic communication, specifically speaking about cinema and the so-called documentary. At the same time, we propose a brief study of the computer media as we point out the informative and aesthetics possibilities emerged from the conscious use of its structural elements. For instance, we hope to acknowledge how this media, as a support, structures its representations and also how it features a whole set of tools that benefits human communication. With this in mind, and considering the theoretical texts of Bill Nichols, Henri Gervaiseau, Ismail Xavier, Iuri Lotman, Almir Almas and Lev Manovich, we address three major research fields: documentary film, semiotics and computer media. Regarding the last one, the great focus of our research, we draw attention to its main principles, representative structures and the innovative capacity of keeping representations of navigable spaces. From semiotics, our interest is to summarize the concepts of language and artistic communication. Meanwhile, the documentary suits as a comparative database, with its historical aspects and discursive construction. Prior to the end, in addition to present the artistic possibilities of computer media as language, this dissertation also offers a brief consideration on the penitentiary system. The works of Prison Valey (Philippe Brault and David Dufresne, website, 2009) and Step to the Line (Ricardo Laganaro, Virtual Reality/360°, 2017), which we took as subject matter, come to an agreement regarding this point. Thereby, granted by the theories of refereed disciplines, this text intends to analyze both works, presenting as a whole, examples of how a documentarist can, as intended, use computational media to organize signs and also to organize, as a sign, its inherent rules.

Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo a realização de experimentos poéticos em artes visuais, que também foram o seu objeto de estudo. Os experimentos pretenderam explorar imagens de meu corpo em seus estados transitórios, realizando ações e modificações, por meio de peles artificiais e máscaras e acrescentando dispositivos ao corpo, produzindo sensações visuais, táteis, auditivas, espaciais e temporais que buscam gerar reflexões sobre os corpos dos seres em geral. Através das ações que meu corpo realiza ou, em alguns outros trabalhos, por meio de palavras que remetem ao corpo e a seus comportamentos, pretendi produzir sensações e ficções que discutem questões ligadas à existência cotidiana como: relações sociais, efemeridade, mutações da sensibilidade, subjetividade, relação humano-máquina e mecanização dos sentimentos. This research aimed to carry out poetic experiments, which were also its object of study. The experiments attempted to explore images of my body in its transient states, performing actions and modifications, using artificial skins and masks, adding devices to the body, producing visual, tactile, auditory, spatial and temporal sensations which seek to generate reflections on the bodies of beings in general. Through the actions that my body performs or in some other works, through words that refer to the body and its behaviors, I intend to produce sensations and fictions that discuss issues related to daily existence such as: social relations, ephemerality, sensitivity mutations, subjectivity, human-machine relationship and mechanization of feelings.

A presente pesquisa busca analisar o fotojornalismo contemporâneo a partir da Foto do Ano do World Press Photo (World Press Photo of the Year), principal categoria de uma das mais importantes premiações da fotografia jornalística. A violência e o sofrimento humano sempre foram uma das principais temáticas dessas fotografias, caracterizando o modelo das Fotoschoque. Porém, a partir da década de 1990, observou-se que, apesar do tema ser o mesmo, ele é abordado de forma mais branda e menos explícita, aproximando-se do conceito de Fotografia-expressão defendido pelo teórico da fotografia, o francês André Rouillé. Ao contrário das características do índice peirciano (típico do formato analógico da fotografia) que as Fotos-choque parecem representar, a fotografia-expressão se aproxima do conceito de símbolo da semiótica de Charles S. Peirce: elas evidenciam e congregam do contexto super simbólico da sociedade digital contemporânea. Partindo de tal constatação, poderíamos inferir que o fotojornalismo premiado na Foto do Ano do World Press Photo é produto do seu tempo e, por este motivo, fruto de uma reconfiguração estética do fotojornalismo. O percurso metodológico desse trabalho é constituído por análise fotográfica a partir do conceito de fotografia-expressão, e a posterior discussão acerca de sua coerência com as características do símbolo segundo a semiótica peirciana. The present research seeks to analyze contemporary photojournalism from the World Press Photo of the Year, the main category of one of the most important awards in journalistic photography. Violence and human suffering have always been one of the main themes of these photographs, characterizing the Shock-photos model. However, since the 1990s, it has been observed that, although the theme is the same, it is approached in a milder and less explicit way, approaching the concept of Photography-expression advocated by photography theorist, French André Rouillé. Unlike the characteristics of the Peircian index (typical of the analogical format of photography) that the Shock-photos seem to represent, photographyexpression approaches the symbol concept of the semiotics of Charles S. Peirce: they evidence and congregate from the super symbolic context of society. Based on this observation, we could infer that the photojournalism awarded at the World Press Photo of the Year is a product of his time and, for this reason, the fruit of an aesthetic reconfiguration of photojournalism. The methodological path of this work is constituted by photographic analysis from the concept of photography-expression, and the subsequent discussion about its coherence with the characteristics of the symbol according to Peircian semiotics.

Partindo da pergunta "onde estão as imagens?", formulada pela filósofa francesa Marie-José Mondzain, este projeto busca trazer para o campo do visível elementos da ordem do sensível. A metodologia envolveu a análise de obras de quatro artistas que trabalham com projeções públicas em espaços urbanos: Krzysztof Wodiczko, Roberta Carvalho, Elisa Laraia e John Hulsey. Inspirado nessas obras e em diálogo com outras formas de cinema, este trabalho ainda propõe uma experimentação focada no tema da violência de gênero através da projeção de gestos de resistência como possibilidade de combate à violência doméstica. A experimentação associa ao conceito de khôra - traduzido por Mondzain como zona - a ideia de janelas como telas e projeta nesse espaço vídeos-gestos produzidos durante a pesquisa: "O grito", "Mãos Dadas" e "Não é minha revolução, se eu não puder dançar" Abstract: This theoretical-practical research aims the creation of a device for audiovisual projection using windows as screens. Starting from the question "where are the images?", formulated by the French philosopher Marie-Jose? Mondzain, this project seeks to make visible elements of the order of the sensitive. The methodology involved the analysis of works by four artists who work with public projections in urban spaces: Krzysztof Wodiczko, Roberta Carvalho, Elisa Laraia and John Hulsey. Juntamente com as tecnologias informacionais que tanto modificaram as práticas e os processos comunicacionais, alterando a lógica de produção e de consumo das notícias, que são consideradas a matéria prima do jornalismo. Diante desse contexto, onde a cultura participativa e a inteligência coletiva promovem maior participação e colaboração dos interagentes e interatores, principalmente nas redes sociais digitais. A pesquisa pretende discutir e identificar a maneira como a transição da notícia entre os diferentes meios tem se dado, de forma específica na rede social twitter, que é a rede social de interesse nesse estudo. Para tentar compreender a maneira como os elementos estéticos empregados na construção da notícia potencializam ou limitam seu alcance na rede, assim como seu o fluxo da notícia é alterado com o emprego de tais elementos, os perfis do jornal O Globo e dos Jornalistas Livres no microbloging serão analisados, afim de identificar até que ponto essa notícia é configurada ou reconfigurada para atender a fluidez desse meio imersivo que é a internet The emerging phenomenon of media convergence has for some time been modifying the already established relationship between the public and journalism. Together with the information technologies that have modified the communication practices and processes, changing the logic of production and consumption of news, which are considered the raw material of journalism. In this context, where participatory culture and collective intelligence promote greater participation and collaboration of interactors and interactors, especially in digital social networks. The research intends to discuss and identify the way in which the transition of news between the different media has been given, specifically in the twitter social network, which is the social network of interest in this study. To try to understand how the aesthetic elements employed in the construction of the news potentiate or limit their reach in the network, as well as their the flow of the news is altered with the employment of such elements, the profiles of the newspaper O Globo and the Jornalistas Livres in microblogging will be analyzed in order to identify the extent to which this news is configured or reconfigured to meet the fluidity of the immersive medium that is the Internet.

Móveis: da visualidade à visualização é uma pesquisa teóricoprática que pretende discutir como o senso de espaço se transforma na percepção do mundo digitalizado e como isso é manifestado na arte contemporânea. Para isso, visamos aliar a prática artística, através da conclusão de um experimento artístico denominado Móveis, à reflexão. O experimento se realiza por processos híbridos possibilitados pelo digital e consolida-se como uma metacriação a partir do processamento da grande variedade de imagens e informações dispostas e trocadas diariamente pela cultura. No processo de desenvolvimento do experimento artístico Móveis, diferentes práticas e softwares são integrados para a visualização de informações e \"mineração\" visual de dados, composição de arquivos de pesquisa, remixagem e apresentação da obra. Nesses desdobramentos, consideramos práticas como remix e a visualização de dados não apenas como agentes de uma forma final específica ou de análise e demonstração de dados, mas como geradoras de um projeto para a criação. Na construção do projeto, instrumentos são utilizados como meio e não como fim, portanto pretendeu-se enfatizá-los enquanto geradores de métodos, estratégias e etapas para o projeto artístico -- não ficando aparente em sua forma final e sendo possível de ser verificados enquanto processo. No decorrer desse desenvolvimento, a elaboração conceitual funde-se à prática, determinando o caminho de compreensão das atividades envolvidas. Movable: from Visuality to Visualization is a practise-based research that intends to discuss on how the sense of space changes through the perception of the digitized world and how this is manifested in contemporary art. For this purpose, we aim to combine artistic practice to the reflection, through the conclusion of an artistic experiment called Movable. The experiment was carried out by hybrid processes made possible by digital media and was consolidated as a meta-creation from the processing of a huge variety of imagery and information arranged and exchanged daily by the culture. In the process of developing the artistic experiment \"Movable\", different practices and softwares were integrated for information visualization and visual data mining, for the composition of research files, remixing and for presentation of the work. In these developments, we have considered practices such as remixing and visualization of data not only as agents of a specific final form or of analysis and data demonstration but as generators of a project for creation. In the construction of the project, instruments were used as a medium and not as an end, so it was intended to emphasize them as generators of methods, strategies and stages for the artistic project - not becoming apparent in its final form and being possible to be verified as a process. In the course of this development, conceptual elaboration was based on practice, determining the path of understanding of the activities involved.

Outros cinemas é uma pesquisa teórico-prática que discorre sobre o deslocamento do dispositivo cinema para os espaços da arte. São tomadas como ponto de partida as práticas pré-cinematográficas, seguidas das práticas com o dispositivo cinema desenvolvidas nos anos 1960 e 1970, no âmbito artístico internacional e nacional. Por fim, trabalhos produzidos por mim e em parceria com o grupo Poéticas Digitais apontam para reflexões acerca do contexto contemporâneo. Sem isolar a problemática brasileira em relação ao conjunto da produção mundial, este trabalho se propõe o desafio de pensar os contextos internacional e nacional da presença do dispositivo cinema como estratégia artística para a espacialização e desmaterialização e a abertura para a participação do público na passagem dos anos 1960 para os anos 1970, além de apontar para um modo de entendimento do contexto contemporâneo por meio de projetos pessoais. Esta pesquisa busca, por meio dos artistas Anthony McCall, Paul Sharits, Stan VanDerBeek e Hélio Oiticica, explorar suas reflexões particulares e confirmar a presença definitiva dos artistas contemporâneos no debate crítico. Por esse viés, o dispositivo cinema é contextualizado em três viradas históricas: na transição para o modernismo, no pós-modernismo e na contemporaneidade. Essas passagens pontuam rupturas e atualizações do dispositivo, ao mesmo tempo que revelam as circunstâncias do deslocamento das salas escuras para o cubo branco. Other cinemas is a theoretical and practical study addressing the displacement of the of the cinematic apparatus in contemporary art. Precinematic strategies are taken as a starting point, followed by the practices of the cinematic apparatus developed in the 1960s and 1970s, at international and national levels. In conclusion, works developed by me and in partnership with the group Digital Poetics lead to reflections on the contemporary context. Encompassing the Brazilian problematic in relation to the body of international production, this research attempts to undertake the challenge of reflecting about the presence of the cinematic apparatus in both international and national contexts as artistic strategy of spatialization, dematerialization and topening for public participation in the passage of the 1960s to the 1970s, furthermore it indicates to one way of understanding contemporary context through personal projects. This research explores the works of Anthony McCall, Paul Sharits, Stan VanDerBeek and Hélio Oiticica, and these artists\' personal reflections, as it confirms the definitive presence of contemporary artists in the critical debate. From this angle, the cinematic apparatus is contextualized in three historical turns: the transition to modernism, to postmodernism and to contemporaneity. These passages punctuate ruptures and updates of the cinematic apparatus at the same time it reveals the circumstances of its displacement from dark rooms to the white cube.
