This article addresses the study of reading habits in Spain, a central aspect of cultural consumption that has received little academic attention. Through a multivariate and ordinal regression analysis, we investigate how various structural, cultural, and attitudinal factors influence these habits. We particularly highlight the significant influence of social connections (such as family, the educational environment, and friendships) in the formation of reading habits. This provides a perspective that goes beyond the simplified division between reader/non-reader and previous analysis focused on elitist distinctions. The findings suggest that variations in cultural reading consumption are more closely linked to differences in social environments and their relationship with culture than to socioeconomic condition or individuals' educational level. - Abstract
Introduction: To examine the relationship between the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assess and monitor job performance and exposure to psychosocial risk factors, as well as associated adverse health effects in the European work environment. Method: Cross-sectional study using microdata from the 2022 "Occupational Safety and Health in Post-Pandemic Workplaces (Flash Eurobarometer)" survey (EU-OSHA) with 27252 participants. After selecting 12 dichotomous dependent variables (psychosocial risks and adverse health effects) and the presence of AI and its various uses to supervise and evaluate workers performance as independent variables, we calculated the crude and adjusted (aOR) odds ratios by sociodemographic covariates and their corresponding 95% confidence intervals (95%CI). Results: When AI is used to monitor or control individual performance, it increases time pressure and work overload (ORa=1.5;95%CI:1.3-1.7), reduces autonomy or influence over work processes (ORa=2.2;95%CI:2.1-2.3), and erodes communication or cooperation within the organization (ORa=1.5;95%CI:1.4-1.6). It also increases the probability of reporting stress, depression or anxiety (ORa=1.5; 95%CI:1.4-1.5) and accidents or injuries (ORa=1.7; 95%CI:1.6-1.8). Conclusions: AI as a "digital supervisor" increases exposure to psychosocial risk factors and the likelihood of health damage. This highlights the importance of considering worker well-being along with economic efficiency when implementing AI in work organizations. These results can guide labor policies to balance process optimization with healthy work environments through social dialogue. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Since the beginning of the popularization of the Internet in the 1990s, various debates have developed about social differences in participation in digital environments, which have taken the name of digital divide, in its most material, cognitive or power dimension. Progressively the debate has evolved from simplistic and / or utopian positions on the democratizing condition of the network towards more sociological visions, based on notions such as social and cultural capital. Specifically, we study the influence that digital capital exerts, together with the main socio-demographic aspects, on the uses of social networks by individuals in Spain. For this study, we used the data from the Eurobarometer 92.3 for the year 2019, and we applied the multinomial logistic regression technique.

RELIGIONS , *CULTURE - Abstract
The influence of social and educational factors has often been used to explain social differences in consumption and cultural practices. Without denying the value of such an approach, this article examines the impact of religious denomination and its influence in shaping cultural practices. Our article argues the need for a macro-social, longue durée [long-term] perspective to shed light on cultural differences and why these linger notwithstanding the market and political convergence found in Europe today. The diverse cultural consumption patterns found in European Union (EU) Member States as evidenced by Eurobarometer surveys are examined through our logistic regression analysis. The findings show the explanatory power of the religion variables used by classical historical sociology. These variables have been largely overlooked by modern studies—a shortcoming this article seeks to redress. We see a link between a country's historical religion (the religious "factor") and its cultural consumption. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This paper analyzes the interrelationship and synergies between the different resources of union power in the countries of the European Union. We study the relationship between the associative and institutional power of trade unions, on the one hand, and the levels of social equality in the EU, on the other hand. Likewise, we analyze the dynamic link between union power resources and the state / business strategies implemented to face the crisis that began in 2008. For this, we carry out different multivariate analysis techniques (multiple correspondences and generalized linear models). We conclude that the trade union organizations that base their strategy on indirectly reinforcing their institutional power are those that have been most affected by the labor reform and flexibilization strategies promoted by the states. In this regard, strengthening the associative power of trade unions seems to be the most effective strategy to face the crisis that began in 2008., Este artículo analiza la interrelación y las sinergias entre los diferentes recursos de poder sindical en los países de la Unión Europea.

- Abstract
The cultural policy orientation of European countries has usually been interpreted in the light of political ideological factors or the model of the welfare state. However, while these dimensions explain part of cultural policys evolution in the second half of the 20th century, they overlook the influence of earlier factors affecting the states trajectory (especially absolutism) and the persistent influence of religious denomination on culture. To grasp the relationship between the state and culture, one needs to realise that Protestantism wields a significant influence in some countries (especially in variants such as Non-Conformism). These factors can be identified in the Eurostat surveys and statistics, providing that one adopts Braudels longue dure [long-term] perspective and the comparative historical institutionalism proposed by Tilly. This perspective lets us see continuities and interpret them in a multidimensional way and to suggest a different classification of the cultural regimes found among European countries.

ABSTRACT Objective: To identify patterns of health (general and mental) and consumption (hypnotics and addictive substances) in the workplace, according to socio-labor factors stratified by sex. Methods: Cross-sectional study with a representative sample of the Spanish Active Population (nº=12,260), corresponding to the National Health Survey of 2017. The adjusted odds ratios (ORa) by sociodemographic variables were estimated through logistic regression models, and their corresponding 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). Results: Two patterns were identified. On the one hand, unemployed people reported a worse self-perceived state of health [(ORa=0.61;95%CI: 0.45-0.83; for men(H); ORa=0.65;95%CI:0,45-0.94; for women(M)], higher prevalence of depression [ORa=4.19;95%CI:2.15-8.16(H); ORa=1.83;95%CI: 1,05-3.21(M)], tranquilizer consumption [ORa=2.21;95%CI:1.29-3.77 (H); ORa=1.83;95% CI: 1.02-3, 32 (M)], and tobacco [ORa=1.66; 95% CI:1.28-2.16 (H)] than the businessmen. On the other hand, the managers referred more occupational stress than unskilled technicians [ORa=0.50;95%CI:0.38-0.66(H);ORa=0.64;95%CI:0.50-0.84(M)] and alcohol consumption [ORa=0.54;95%CI:0.41-0.70(H);ORa=0.43;95%;CI:0.34-0.55(M)]. Conclusion: The results show different patterns that can be used to start preventive programs.

- Abstract
The deregulation and precariousness of the labor market has led to an increase in the risks and psychosocial diseases in Europe in general, and in Spain in particular. In this context, the objective of this research is to evaluate the impact of specialized union representation (prevention delegates) on the implementation of measures to prevent psychosocial risks in companies. To this end, we used the Second European Survey of Enterprises on New and Emerging Risks (ESENER 2 - Spain 2014). We compared the indicators of psychosocial risk management with the presence or absence of prevention delegates in companies. We estimate the odds ratio through binary logistic regressions adjusted by sociodemographic variables. The results obtained show that in work centers that have prevention delegates, evaluations of psychosocial risks are carried out with greater frequency, both in relational and organizational aspects. Also the presence of prevention delegates is positively related to the establishment of plans and procedures to avoid work-related stress, as well as threats, insults or aggression. Likewise, it promotes training and advice for workers regarding such risks, and encourages the existence of mechanisms to resolve conflicts. Despite finding empirical evidence that prevention delegates have a positive impact, different contextual, legal and institutional factors have been identified that undermine union power resources (structural, associative, institutional and social) and weaken this correlation.

- Abstract
This article presents the results of research on women entrepreneurs in Spain. The focus of the analysis is on women’s discourse on gender. More specifically, the article studies the relationship between discourses on family compatibility and on the release of "domestic / reproductive responsibilities " between entrepreneurs by opportunity. The qualitative sample is formed by women (and mothers) autonomous professionals / entrepreneurs from the services sector, where 40 in-depth interviews and 11 focus groups were conducted. Based on the analysis of discourses, a typology of entrepreneurial opportunity resulted, according to the arguments related to the "productive" and "reproductive" work. The study shows the existence of a "masculinized" social imaginary among woman entrepreneurs, which enables two logics of behaviour: those that give priority to working life, on the one hand, and those seeking to reconcile work and family life., Se presentan los resultados de una investigación sobre emprendedoras en España.

The article is a synthetic essay that exposes the main theoretical lines of the postmarxist approach of Laclau and Mouffe, on the one hand, and the autonomist post-operaism of Negri, Hardt, Virno, etc., on the other hand. These theories are conceived as attempts to rationalize current political bets by various political sectors and social movements. It analyzes both argumentative strategies from «orthodox» Marxism and the structure / superstructure relationship; and the forms of constitution of new subjectivities. It compares the theoretical fundamentals of hegemonic articulations and counter-power experiences. It discusses, likewise, the scope and limitations of the categories of «people» and «multitude» and their specifics forms of political action: critical and transformative incorporation into state institutions, on the one hand, and exodus and nomadism, on the other.

This paper addresses the conceptualizations existing about the sociological category of youth. Firstly, we present the functionalist conceptualization of cycles of life and the biographical conceptualization in depth, which can be also called transition sociology. The biographical conceptualization arises from the work crisis in the mid 70, which had an impact in the increasing of unemployment rate and the backwardness of stable employment. Secondly, we present the nominalist conceptualization, which is based on the theory of the generations of Mannheim. Finally, the conclusion stresses that one of the challenges in our field of research is the sociological delimitation of youth, and, consequently, a solution has to be found.

Since Argentina's socio-economic crisis (2001-2002), the phenomenon of workers taking over, or recovering, bankrupt companies has spread across the country. In this article, we present findings related to strategies of collective action that favor self-management. To do so, first we develop a typology of the incentives to recover companies through collective action. Next we describe how the social movement's organization has evolved. Third, we discuss the initial strategies of economic articulation between these companies. Our hypothesis is that, so long as the social movement is politically and socially week, the predominant strategies will be market insertion by companies on an individual basis. By contrast, a greater degree of mobilization would create more favorable conditions for strategies of productive integration and of strengthening the social economy.

Since the economic crisis in Argentina (2001) to the present, a phenomenon of recovery came across the country started by the workers of bankrupted companies. The thesis exposes findings related to the diverse strategies of collective action favoring self-management. Elaborating these elements allows understanding the complex dynamics of these organisations, based on a double logic: associative / political, linked to its dimension as a social movement, and economical, derived from its aspect of productive enterprise. The approach is of a qualitative nature, and the empiric evidence combines in-deep interviews and field observation, based on a structural sample, to workers of a variety of recovered companies across the city of Buenos Aires and the Province of Buenos Aires.

- Abstract
This article’s objective is the analysis of the organizational evolution of the movement of Recovered Companies in Argentina and its relation to the strategies of productive articulation among them, representing hereby one of the first attempts for the creation of new spaces within social economy. Hence we’ve developed, in the first place, a typology of incentives to collective action. Secondly, we analyze the formation and the dynamics of political organization within the social movement. Thirdly, we describe the first strategies of economic articulation between recovered companies, which find in these political organizations one of the conditions that makes the economic articulation possible. It is precisely our hypothesis that, as the movement is politically and organizationally weak, strategies of individual insertion to the market by companies will prevail, and on the other hand, the greater is the integration and the trust bond between them encourages the conditions to project productive integration strategies., El artículo tiene por objetivo analizar la evolución organizacional del movimiento de recuperación de empresas en Argentina (2001-2009) y su vinculación con las estrategias de articulación productiva entre ellas, constituyendo de este modo los primeros intentos de conformar nuevos espacios de economía social.

- Abstract
The main aim of this paper is examining the state of art about the topic of innovation and how institutions and organisations can help to its development and maintenance. Specifically, this paper exposes a theoretical reflection that constitutes the basis of an empirical investigation about innovation and local development in dense peripheral industrial areas in Latin America. It reflects about those organisational issues that facilitate positive process of technological innovation, and those institutional ones that have influence in the coherence between innovation systems and an integrative social development. The research strategy is focused in case analysis and the results show how different regions compete among them to make room for themselves in the international division of work, looking for their insertion in value chains by using endogenous factors.
